Consumption subsides for all, dear boy.
So subsidy for the poor who cannot afford basic amenities like food and healthcare should not be provided since it is a consumption subsidy?

Consumption subsides.
So, subsidy for the poor like you stated as an example is entirely under production subsidy?

That's what they are all about:

Tribal and political supremacy, the country can burn for all they care.

And some of them are bragging that this is the sophistication they've always talked about

When you hear some kind of crime, like shooting a moving vehicle....

They have a pattern of very barbaric act
CrimeRe: Kidnappers Rape Woman To Death In Ekiti by Brendaniel:
This looks like Fulani herdsmen, but you won't see this people coming out to tell them to go back to their region, everywhere will be quiet, they won't even call out Tinubu whom they bragged with the claims of coming to fight the herdsmen.

I then ask, what exactly did they support Tinubu to become president for?

It is clear: bragging rights and to mock those who they think are their enemies.

Condolences to the bereaved, quick and safe returns to the kidnapped, and may peace be restored to the affected communities

USA

1.Taxes people more and has a higher income from taxes. Not like Nigeria where effectively only 30% of the nation is taxed.

2.USA has a diversifed economy. As a result, revenue from company tax is very very high among other things. Again, income tax revenue is high

3. Consumption subsides are for the poorest of the poor, not to ensure that every American buys gas at fifty cents per gallon. And the poor are means tested to see if they qualify. Not like Nigeria where everyone gets a subsidy...leading to the rich benefiting more than the poor.

4. Refineries are run profitably, which means...no subsidy

5.Finally, prices are going up in the USA too...no subsidy needed.

USA does release oil from their strategic reserve, which is the only way they can sanely reduce fuel prices.
But you are advocating that no form of subsidy should be paid at all, whether for the rich or for the poor...

$7 per litre in USA

Keep blaming tinubu

No, so it was convenient for you people and Tinubu to blame and protest against Jonathan for the same reason of crude oil price going above 100 dollars per barrel for a lower price of petrol 75 naira per litre abi ?

see hypocrisy, the kind of tribalism you people have shown to other Nigerians eh!

Have I said otherwise?

Specifically, consumption subsides. And I don't need to explain why it is bad to you, because you guys on this site don't see it, until it suits you.

Yes, both sides.

Good morning.
So, countries like USA that pays consumption subsidy for their citizens are doing a bad thing?

Why were you people angry with him?

cheesy

You know when I say you guys and the apc guys are alike, I am right?

You both want subsidy on fuel. You both use the antisubsidy argument when it suits you. cheesy, and ye both drop it when it doesn't.

As for me, I don't. If it is affecting Nigeria badly, I no gree.

At least I can say that APC has failed though, but even if they did well, or if Obi came into office in 2023, unless every Nigerian was paying half their income in tax, forget subsidy.

Unless you want to build refineries run by prisioners at all levels. No one gets paid, and you save the money which can be used for Nigeria.
So you are saying subsidy is a bad thing?
PoliticsRe: Tinubu Has 4 Options On Petrol Prices — But Only One Will Work For Your Wallet by Brendaniel: 11:22am On Mar 10
nairalanda1:
Retaining subsidy was not good intention...it was bad intention, whoever did it..be it buhari, gej, obasanjo, etc.

And even good intention...you know what the old proverb says...the road to gehenna is paved with good intentions.

Subsidy should have gone in 1993, when we was warned. People then said no. By 1994, a TAM for the refinery was missed. That was the begining of the end. By 2012, we were refining 91000 bpd , down from 400000 bpd in 1990.

There is no good intention in subsidy. Even if we brought it back now, and tried to knock down prices, it would eat about two thirds of our income. GEJ Keeping it out of good intentions drove us into more debt, and near drained our revenues.

Not that Buhari or tinubu were better. Tinubu was forced to remove it because IMF won't led us no more money or help.
You have started with your one way narrative...
PoliticsRe: Tinubu Has 4 Options On Petrol Prices — But Only One Will Work For Your Wallet by Brendaniel: 11:13am On Mar 10
nairalanda1:
You know that GEJ wanted to remove subsidy in 2011...because the rise in crude prices from 91 dollars in 2010 to 110 and above in 2011 meant that subsidy costs jumped up three times as a result.

That meant that most government revenue was being eaten by subsidy and borrowing was increasing

Your comment indicates that you thought that tinubu and buhari were right in 2012 to oppose subsidy.
There is a difference in someone doing something with good intention in mind and someone doing something with evil intention in mind.
PoliticsRe: Tinubu Has 4 Options On Petrol Prices — But Only One Will Work For Your Wallet by Brendaniel: 10:59am On Mar 10
So Tinubu supporters have been making excuses and giving Tinubu options despite selling crude oil at over 100 dollars per barrel like in GEJ's time without paying any subsidy for Nigerians for over 1000 naira per litre.

These same people wanted to crucify Jonathan who was paying subsidy for them at about 75 naira per litre with the same over 100 dollars per barrel Tinubu is selling it now.

I ask: Why were they angry with Jonathan who treated them better than Tinubu is treating them now?

Answer: Tribalism

PoliticsRe: Nigerian Government Knows Every Terrorist By Name And Location — Sheikh Gumi by Brendaniel: 9:27am On Mar 10
phemray:
Funny you, Obi that openly support IPOB/ ESN killings calling it mere agitation and they are in his family. Obi will definitely legalised and commercialised Terrorism in Nigeria to generate more income in his own way of reasoning . Same was he openly support Catholic against Anglican as a sitting governor. It's unfortunate that SE has never has a credible leadership
The question you should be asking is: why is Donald Trump or any international organisation or country not against IPOB or trying to even fight them like they are doing to bandits and terrorists in the north and why don't they also see them as a terrorist group?

Because something is definitely wrong with you people and the government you are supporting, that's the reason why insecurity is the way it is in Nigeria today, despite labeling IPOB a terrorist group and fighting them...

If you people and the government you support were doing the right thing, shouldn't terrorism be reducing in Nigeria?

Did you read it to the end, where they said, THEY KNOW THAT MANY OF THE CRUDE ALREADY HAS INTERNATIONAL COMMITMENT? that is, the previous govt already sold it out in debt?

Anyway, one needs to wail in other to reduce toxic from body.
And Tinubu is also part of it, he took loan and sold Nigeria's crude oil into the future to the tune of 11 billion dollars for a 3 billion dollar loan,so Tinubu still has heavy blame even if you want to go that route...

meditator:
Obi that couldn't contain small conflicts in Labour party and ran away. Is it Boko Haram that he want to come and handle. Let him handle IPOB terrorists first like Soludo is doing.
You've simply admitted that Tinubu is only concerned about his political ambition, which is party politics and not about Nigeria...

While Peter Obi is concerned more about Nigeria than party politics...
PoliticsRe: Nigerian Government Knows Every Terrorist By Name And Location — Sheikh Gumi by Brendaniel: 8:32am On Mar 10
We already know, Tinubu is an accomplice of terrorism in Nigeria, that's why I laugh anytime his supporters say he doing his best, asking what Peter Obi would have done differently, the answer: Peter Obi will not be an accomplice.

That's why I call the war against terrorism in Nigeria one of the most useless war ever known to mankind, how can the people who claim to be fighting a war be the first saboteurs and enablers of the same war? That's why I say if you are a soldier in Nigeria and they send you to the north for counter terrorism, just resign, because the people sending you have already sabotaged you before even sending you.
PoliticsRe: Fuel Price Hike: We Incur Cost From 47 Government Agencies - Dangote Refinery by Brendaniel: 8:23am On Mar 10
When you tell them Tinubu is the major cause of high prices in Nigeria, his supporters start shouting, I saw a topic yesterday about price of cement hitting 15k, some people were blaming Dangote, I was just laughing.

Dangote has come out different times to clear the air, that Nigerian government headed by Tinubu charges him the highest tax compared to other countries he has cement plants, that's why cement price in Nigeria is higher than other countries in Africa, so I'm not surprised about the petrol too.

So if you are to blame any person for high prices in Nigeria, blame Tinubu, even Tinubu blamed Jonathan for lesser prices during his time.

That is a lot different to be admire of a man call Tinubu. Without his vision, Dangote refinery may not be here as we have it. Disagree with your keyboard not me.
What makes Abuja better than other states aside Lagos, was it visionary leadership of the fct ministers?

If you can answer that question correctly then you will know why Lagos is more developed than Anambra and has nothing to do with Tinubu...

Before Tinubu became governor of Lagos, Lagos was far developed than Anambra, so how would you attribute the development to Tinubu?
PoliticsRe: Nigerians Express Outrage Over Recent Petrol Price Hike by Brendaniel: 8:31pm On Mar 08
WizardOfNG:
He is right though. Your not bright at all. If humble, ambitious and truly seeking to better yourself then you'd learn from others instead of arguing ignorantly and senselessly.

I don't know how anyone with averagely okay intellect can believe conflict in the middle East, a major hub of petrol and crude supply to the world, is going to spare Nigeria.

Our oil and gas downstream sector is fully deregulated meaning Nigerians with the means can import PMS into Nigeria and Dangote too can sell PMS at prices he desires as a private business with the caveat that full deregulation frees the government of the punitive and financially draining burden of fuel subsidy and will beneficially spark healthy competition that will thrive PMS price down.

Now, with conflict in the middle East, our importers pay more to bring us PMS and they must therefore charge you more.

Dangote too must charge more because he imports crude, as he cannot get the quantity he needs from FG, so he will be affected by global hike in price of crude.

He must also sell PMS , for purely business and profit reasons, around the price his competitors do. They cannot sell at 1050 Naira and you expect Dangote.to sell at 730 Naira.

To then be lashing out at Government and Tinubu, as many have done on this thread, is sad for knowledgeable folks to witness because it is worrying you don't even know why fuel cost has gone up which means you are probably unfairly and ignorantly blaming the government for a myriad of things not Tinubu or the APC's fault as virtually Obidients do.
So what exactly were you people blaming GEJ for?

And why were you people with Tinubu blaming and protesting against him for fuel price hike When global prices went up?

You guys should stop this online clout and go and work on your party to deliver results.

You can't even compare Tinubu with a senior prefect who got his position by merit, that senior prefect will do better than Tinubu as president.

Ok, let me help you, the BVAS machine works online and offline, once results are submitted in an offline location, it cannot be altered, all BVAS machines are transported back to INEC head quarters.

While on transit, Any BVAS machine that results were submitted in an offline location, once there is network it connects itself and sends the result automatically to the server.

This tech was sponsored and initiated by the APC government, the question is:

Why don't they want to use this same tech effectively and efficiently, why spend so much money for a tech and then disregard it if not to make provision for cheating and manipulation?

Just make the BVAS result mandatory where everyone will see it and cannot be manipulated after submission, the want paper results they can manipulate at collation centers...

They refused to even pass the bill that says the BVAS result must tally with the paper result, at least to put some control against rigging...

Abeg you guys should stop this nonsense, you guys made me give up on the unity of Nigeria.
