Politics / Re: Reno Posts Pictures Of Schools Initiated, Completed And Commissiomed By BAT by Brendaniel: 5:06pm
And Goodluck Jonathan that built schools all over the north for Almajiri's, what did the north and the south west championed by the very Tinubu Reno is supporting use to pay him back?

They kicked him out, this tells you that all these attacks are just out of hatred, secondly if after all what Peter Obi did in education(whether he built schools or not) for Anambra and Anambra became the leading state in education then what is now the justification for someone who built more schools only for the state to end up retrogressing in education.

It means one was doing something right and the other was doing something wrong, it is in Nigeria I know governments to show infrastructures that does not add value to the people as an achievement....

What matters most is, did education improve under Peter Obi better than Tinubu in both states?

If the answer is yes, then Peter Obi out performed Tinubu in education, even if Tinubu built 200 schools, if the 200 schools did not improve the educational performance in the state like someone who did not even build 1 school in his own state but achieved more educational performance.

These are some of the reasons we have projects in Nigeria that are yet to achieve any major positive development in the country..

That's why I keep using the statement that says, when some governments major on the minor and minor on the major and achieve little or nothing with very huge costs

I have never seen a power minister dissecting the problems with accurate figures like this one. And he is proffering solutions to each problem. Very soon we shall get there. Jonathan caused all the problems by giving these DISCOS to his boys who knew nothing other than being Disco DJs. They thought this was a night club contracts. Mtcheww!!!

Tinubu has proven to be worse than Jonathan...

The author of the problem on this thread is Splendid235.

Why?

Because Splendid235 does not know the reason why Governor Ademola Adeleke decided that Mrs Titi Adeleke should receive Mrs Oluremi Tinubu, but he has rushed to authoritatively state that it is because of tribalism.

That is the problem.

Is Splendid235 in Governor Ademola Adeleke's mind? Can he provide conclusive proof and evidence that it's because of tribalism??

So can you tell us the reason ?

Politics / Re: Why Is Coastal Road More Important Than Electricity,of What Value is the Road? by Brendaniel: 5:30am On Apr 22
Odotech:

OBJ alone spent $16 billion on power with nothing to show for it. Buhari also and GEJ signed billions of dollars on power sector especially that Siemens contract - there is nothing to show for it. Now power has been decentralized so that state and private sector can create what they want. We should not expect further waste of money from federal government along that line but push our state governors to set up their regulatory companies and invite private power companies from abroad since you and I know our politicians are not sincere with the power sector. For now roads and railway especially have not been decentralized to allow private sector participation, so let tinubu work on the road. Road is the only project our politicians can do with up to 50% success rate. Building companies or investing in power historically have always been a waste of public fund. The money has been always looted 100%. But for road atleast 30 - 40% of the money would be spent on the road. There is partial sincerity in road project implementation compared to power sector project with 0% sincerity

And what makes you think the state government will not do the same thing as the federal government in wasting the money on power?

And if you say they can hand it over to the private sector, last time I checked the federal government also currently has the same option of doing the same thing with the private sector....

And the federal government also has access to more funding to execute theirs than individual states, so what exactly is really the difference here in the state and federal if both are sincere or not sincere?

So Nigerians should sit down and watch the federal government use about 28 trillion for coastal road when they are yet to good power supply to their homes?

As I am talking to you now we have not had light for almost 24 hours and coastal road is what is more important to Tinubu....

Because what you are trying to say is that since all past governments failed to fix power then Tinubu cannot fix it and should not bother himself, then why did he fight to get there if he will not be different from the previous governments?

Politics / Re: Why Is Coastal Road More Important Than Electricity,of What Value is the Road? by Brendaniel: 5:03pm On Apr 21
Odotech:
if the govt is sincere, the coastal road will speedup urbanization of riverine communities which have been abadoned by federal government for 60 years. These communities produce the oil used to develop Abuja and Lagos. It is fairness to have an access road into these areas instead of putting only barracks there to suppress the locals while forcefully drilling the oil. Road is a dividend of democracy and every Nigerian including those coastal or riverine areas have a right to benefit from it just the way city dwellers have benefitted. Road drives urbanization especially a major federal road of this magnitude. The accompanying railways too - you should see land developers buying lands along these areas, building hotels, petrol stations, bus terminals, houses and beaches in less than a decade. Everything shouldnt be about urban dwellers alone. New cities have to emerge, villages have to be urbanized. The cost of transportation from calabar to Lagos will reduce because from the riverside, the distance is shorter. Also, tinubu is not a fool. The biggest challenge with dangote refinery is the distance from Lagos to where raw crude is. In the future, rival refineries such as Bua refinery located in the heart of the Niger delta where the crude is located will be more profitable than Lagos refinery. Tinubu is only trying to help Lagos based refinery compete against the rivals in the Niger delta by shortening the distance from warri to Lagos by truck. By canoe, ore in Ondo to sapele in delta is about 30 minutes, you can't compare that to 2 and half hours of the present road. The railway component is because of crude oil transportation - he is not interested in opening up Niger delta ports, but in transporting it's crude to lagos. Tinubu doesn't really like pipe because of the excessive vandalism

Thank God you said if the government is sincere, so do we have to gamble with 28 trillion to confirm if the government is sincere?

Besides 28 triliion will benefit Nigerians more presently on power than the coastal roads....

28 trillion will serve power to all Nigerians that will be used at the same time everyday, but coastal roads cannot be used by all Nigerians at the same time everyday.

I am not saying the coastal road is bad but in order of priority, which is more important now to an average Nigerian?

You're missing the point.

I wish to make it clear that my writeup was without prejudice and nowhere did I compare Igbos to other tribes.

The summary of what I wrote is that the system is beneficial to the less privileged as it gives them a chance.

However, apprenticeship alone cannot make you dine with kings and the importance of formal education cannot be overemphasized.

And my point is that it is important to both less privileged on non-less privileged, and also you can dine with kings with apprenticeship, Coscharis is a testimony to that, and also I talked about the importance of formal education and how Igbos have embraced it and also how they are combining both personally and how I want both to be institutionalized to work with each other....

Rubbish talk. Just confess you are ignorant and dont even know what exclusive list is let alone understand power supply, in it's entirety, is now off the FG exclusive list meaning States have full and comprehensive control over it.

Go to Aso rock and hold banner while your Governor is having a field day sleeping with all the women in your state .

He deserves to do that when all your indigenes are shouting Tinubu every second and ignoring the incompetent buffoon you lot are giving holiday pay 365 day a year yet still tasking Tinubu and the FG to come and do what your Governor is supposed to but will not.

As at now, about 96 percent of the customers in Nigeria are still connected to the national grid, so that means we will still hold the FG accountable, the day my state builds and connects me to the state grid, I will start holding the state accountable, it is like you telling me to hold a mobile network that is yet to start operation responsible for MTN that I am a customer to for given poor services...

Away from power issue, the FG is the one in charge of monetary policy, economy, inflation, exchange rate, import, export, police, army, Navy, airforce, NSCDC, EFCC, DSS and so on, the state and local government do not control all these I mentioned.

So when there are issues that regards all these I mentioned, it doesn't make sense to hold my state government for what they have no control over, that is why I asked if you chase rats if your house is on fire.

The rat at that time is a smaller issue, the fire is the bigger issue, take care of the fire before chasing the rat, Tinubu here is the fire, we need a good president first before we start talking about governors and local government chairmen and so on.

No matter how good your governor is there is a limit to what he can do, he cannot change the price of dollar, inflation, police performance, import and export duty and so on in the current Nigeria structure, so why should I spend my time chasing rats when I should be quenching the fire....

Quench the fire first then focus on the rat, like I do tell you guys, both you and your Tinubu...

You people love leaving the real issues and chasing shadows, major on the minor and minor on the major, same with Tinubu....

One of the biggest problem of Tinubu's government has always been putting the cart before the horse, while he was busy putting out all those policies I kept on shouting that he was putting the cart before the horse...

Look at it today, same thing you are telling me to do here, chase govenors and leave the president.....

When will you people stop this show of illiteracy and ignorance? Even the other day someone started a thread about why Nigerians only know to shout President and FG for everything.

Power is now fully deregulated. Let everyone go and face their governors about plans for adequate electricity and leave Mr.President and FG to focus on thing in exclusive list States cannot touch.

Learn to go to your Senators, Reps, LG chairmen and Governors more for things that fall in their purview instead of shouting at the President and FG always.

Bad followers have no right to good leadership.

Do you chase rats in your house if it is on fire?

Tinubu has not spend up to 1 year in power, but you want him to do what Jonathan and Buhari couldn't do all over Nigeria in 6 and 8 years respectively.

I do have at least 15hrs power supply per day.

The power sector is still a work in progress, before December 2026, majority of Nigerians should be having at least 15hrs power supply daily.

I may have taken your words seriously if only your Tinubu and most of you did not support Buhari for 8 years even when people like us where calling out all the damages Buhari was doing.

Instead you guys kept attacking us that Buhari was in the right part doing good for Nigerians and that we should give him more time till he left office and you guys including Tinubu are now talking about the damage he did...

Same thing you people are doing for Tinubu now and you want Nigerians to take you guys seriously...

And for Tinubu 1 year is enough for people to start seeing improvement no matter how little, instead the power situation has gotten worse even worse than when Buhari was there..

In my area before we get steady power supply at least 12 hours daily sometimes 72 hours without interruption during Buhari's time, but now we get about 6 hours power supply in almost 48 hours and sometimes we could stay up to 72 hours without even a flash...

How much was the second Niger bridge?

About 35 billion naira is that the same with about 28 trillion they are about to spend for the coastal road?

Besides the importance of the second Niger bridge was the fact the first one was quite narrow and already in some sort of bad shape which people had been complaining about, so you want to wait till people die before a second on is needed?
