Have you forgotten what the Chief of Defense said, USA just hand donation to NGOs bypassing the government.
Punch for example got $2m from donor grants from Gates, and that’s just for 1.5 years usage.
Read it yourself. USAID credit the accounts of NGOs directly because they call them implementation partner. Most of these aids are eventually stolen because those NGOs already inflate data.
When you see StatiSense for example giving ridiculous data, I won’t be surprised they are also getting funding for their “statistical research”. Ok, thanks for the information and apologies to the Nigerian government on this... |

Of course they were all reckless with our commonwealth. The dame OBj we all clapped for saving up squandered $16b on Electricity we can't switch on.
And don't take this as an excuse from to back Tinubu, as I said earlier, all of them are the same.
They are just marking Time on the sideline when not in power, they all came for personal gains.
We all know that Foreign Aids are usually diverted by Government Agencies and Parastatals. Those claiming Permanent Secretary and Directors now didn’t just get there now. BabaO2: I didn't say Nigeria have capacity. No one wants to hear the truth, the only truth is the solution. Nigeria has become a complex state to manage. one of the main problem is creation of states. Nigeria is better off as autonomous regions with solid regional security agencies. It is you people that don't want to hear the truth, Nigeria wasn't meant to be, we don't share the same ideology, the earlier we start to divide the country into homogeneous nations the better... It was regionalism that brought us here, it was a system that also failed because of the same ideological differences, so Whatever intervention now is needed to stop the killings is welcomed because the killings itself stems from the ideology of a certain people. If U.S comes in and it leads to the division of the country, good, because Nigeria government under Tinubu is not ready to tackle the problem because of the same ideological differences I'm talking about, so there is no need, this is the truth you people don't want to hear... Because even with everything you said up there you didn't offer any solution on how to end the killings because regionalism may not still end it, you can't stop a citizen from moving about in his own country... You people keep shifting goal post, you people just hate the truth... |

Mrchippychappy: Honestly, I think in the South West, the paranoia stems from the belief that “now that it’s our turn, you want to remove our person.” This sentiment is being masked by the absurd claim that Trump wants to seize their resources. It’s a paranoia that could easily be addressed by reaffirming the fact that Trump is NOT looking to depose president Tinubu (as long as he is not actively involved in sponsoring terrorism) , rather he is looking to work with President Tinubu. Unfortunately many of the region’s leaders are compromised or acting as paid agents so the truth is being suppressed.
In contrast, the fear in the North is more genuine, it comes from those who have been deeply involved in terrorism for the past 15 years and now fear being exposed. I get your point, however I feel Tinubu himself is complicit with the terrorism going on in Nigeria and he feels if the U.S comes in, it may reveal his complicity and that might be too much for him to handle, so he sends his narrative spinners to whip up sentiments from his people that they want take power away from their tribe, sounds familiar right? There is no law stopping the movement of people from the North to the South in Nigeria including the disguised terrorists. They will move down south to find shelter. Is the South ready to take care of the Northern immigrants because you cannot stop them from free movement. So the killings should continue? |

Mrchippychappy: Apologies if this is a lengthy post, but please read through and see the deception of our politicians and ethno-religious "leaders" for yourselves.
Afenifere's recent statement dismisses U.S. President Donald Trump's threats of intervention in Nigeria as a "strategic decoy" driven by economic motives. The group claims Trump's accusations of government complicity in Christian killings are "baseless," aimed at pressuring Nigeria into buying U.S. weapons, granting greater economic access, or punishing Tinubu's foreign policy stances (e.g., supporting a two-state solution for Israel-Palestine).
Afenifere insists banditry is not religious but economic, targeting minerals, and warns against "reckless statements" that invite foreign aggression. They cite U.S. interventions elsewhere leading to instability as proof of ulterior motives. This is what Nigeria means to these people, it is all about religious and tribal dominance, haven't you noticed almost everyone who has come to speak against Trump are majorly from 2 regions, South west and Islamic North, they don't want what is currently happening in Nigeria today to stop because they believe it is helping their tribal and religious cause for dominance. And if any intervention is done it will hinder that cause, when you realize that this is the major issue these 2 regions have been having with the Igbos since independence then you will know why Nigeria shouldn't have been one... These are people who label interventions or planned interventions for a better society or country as evil or sinister motive by twisting the narrative like they are doing now to whip up sentiments then justify any evil retaliation they take to stop the intervention. The was also what lead to the civil war, the same thing they are doing in politics too, both in Lagos and federal, they claim Igbo want to do this, Igbos want to do that, then they take an evil action to stop any correction that needs to be made, to them the status quo must remain even if the country keeps going backwards or is even burnt down to the ground, its ok to them as long they believe they are dominating others. The reason why it is more glaring to people now is because it is not the Igbos this time around, it is the U.S involved, reason why they are still finding something to pin it on as the interest of the U.S using oil, in the case of the Igbos they use the domination narrative, but you ask them are the Igbos killing people all over Nigeria and taking over their lands? NO But they will tell you an Igbo man should never be president because they want to dominate others and take over their lands but the very same people saying that don't have a problem with Fulanis who are doing that back to back and still plan to put them back in future even with all the killings and land grabbing they are doing... Tinubu's presidency really exposed a lot in Nigeria, it was what made me give up on the unity of Nigeria because of the revelations that came with his presidency. Whatever you are seeing happening to Nigeria today especially in regards to the genocide and those trying to stop the U.S or any intervention to stop killings stems from an ideology from these 2 regions. Though not every from these regions support such ideologies but a large number which most times silences those not in support... |

It was U.S special envoys , the U.N peacekeepers were there before the U.S envoys arrived, it was when the envoys arrived the war had to be stopped, all rebel groups plus the government had to ceasefire, nobody wanted to be on the bad side of America, the conditions the rebel groups gave to stop fighting to the U.S envoys that arrived Liberia was that Charles Taylor had to leave Liberia. I watched the live interview with one of the rebel leaders giving the condition, the problem now was how to get Charles Taylor to agree and how to also move him to a safe country for Asylum, George Bush then sent OBJ to talk to him and grant him Asylum in Nigeria which OBJ did , that was why Eedris sang in Jaga Jaga that Charles Tayor was living big life in Calabar. gabicon: First of all for some context, Liberia was founded in the 19th century by freed African-Americans under the auspices of the American Colonization Society. The Americans has vested interest in the country from the get go.
Secondly, Over the decades, Liberia maintained a special relationship with the U.S., including military training, economic assistance, and strategic cooperation. It wasn't like the US just showed up, they were always there.
Thirdly during the first civil war in Liberia, the U.S. did not militarily intervene to remove Doe, nor did it deploy large-scale combat troops to restore order. Instead, its involvement was more limited: evacuation of U.S. citizens, diplomatic engagement, encouragement of mediation, etc.
Lastly, in answer to your question, the war in Liberia did not end solely as a result of direct large-scale intervention by the United States government. Instead, its conclusion was the product of multilateral efforts — primarily regional, diplomatic and United Nations-driven — combined with U.S. support in certain roles.
The United Nations, via United Nations Security Council Resolution 1497 (1 August 2003), authorised a multinational force to support the cease-fire and peace process in Liberia.
Regional actors such as Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and regional forces played the lead role in enforcement and peacekeeping.
The U.S. was involved, but its involvement was relatively limited, often through evacuation operations, logistical assistance or supporting the broader multinational mission rather than being the primary force ending the war.
So using Liberia as a case study is a weak argument, the parameters are different. All these long stories are not needed, It was until USA led by George Bush in 2002/2003 waged in to the war that it ended, ECOWAS have been trying to end and they did not, I'm not a kid, I followed up the whole events then, I have had access to satellite tv since the 90's, so I watched events unfold as it was happening.... George Bush made the major move and instructed OBJ to go and finalize things... I still remember the videos of U.S envoys entering Liberia and people jubilating, though it wasn't a full scale military invasion but the U.S presence in Liberia ended it. |
