Starting a business is hard and even more stressful is choosing the right name for your business. Your business name will always depend on you, after all you will be the one operating and representing it. But

1. Don't be a copycat - You might say that it's obviously against the law but some start ups do use this lame technique in trying to ride with a successful name brand. Ex. naming your business based on a popular movie, or naming a device eye-pad that sounds like Apple's Ipad.

2. Choose a unique/positive/fun sounding name - Google and Nike are good examples of unique and fun names.

3. Avoid names that are difficult to pronounce or hard to spell - You got to aim for quick recall.

4. Don't create a name based on current fads or trends -

Because there's a big possibility that your business will go away when the trend does. and

5. Check if the domain name is also available -

Having an online presence is a must in today's business world so better check if the domain name of the business name that you're considering is still available.

Good evening gurus in the house. I do not intend to bore you with long talks. I started programming lessons mid last year December but currently have started loosing interest due to some reasons.
A friend of mine gave me materials on HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SQL and Php. The learning processs was to start with HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
Have been able to write HTML and CSS codes and even use Bootstrap frame work. Started learning JavaScript and for two weeks have always closed my laptop after few minutes. It's sounds boring to me, pls I need help on how I can learn this effectively. Thanks.

Stay on it man... programming can be very addictive. There is nothing boring about it. It's just challenging.

Don't just read and read. That's where ur problem i think is coming from. Practice practice practice every single thing and think of ways to make it better or advanced

Every single day I visit the business section here on nairaland, It's either I find the crew who have money but don't have a business idea or I find those with business idea but lack money.

Whatever crew you are, please never start up a business if you're not dogged. That business idea might appear rossy in your brain until you start it up in the real world.

I started up a business barely a month ago and I'm almost loosing my mind. Is it the sleepless nights(sometimes working from 1am-7am) I'm going to talk about or the failed projects or the rude customers or the unnecessary but compulsory expensis or the pressure to give out the best at all times or the uncertainties.?

Hehehe...Because of business, I am now a professional Liar. Lord have mercy!

Now I know why most businesses don't last long. Not everyone is willing to go through the stress.

I now respect Dangote, Otedola, Adenuga, Jim ovia, Tony Elemelu...they are many

Your business will break your heart so many times. (I'm heartbroken at the moment)

Please if you're not dogged, don't think of starting up a business.

If you have started one, never back down. If it gets tough, you too get tough. In the end, you'll succeed.

I have made up my mind to continue to press on. No going back

My respect goes out to all business people.
