A Nigerian Lady who is known as Lydia Okojie who is a graduate of UNIBEN took to social media to appreciate her parents for putting her through school with their little earnings.

The young lady shared photos of herself with her dad at his workshop and a video of herself with an excited woman believed to be her mother, signing on her shirt.

Sharing the photos and video, she wrote:

“I’m the pride of a mechanic (Dad)The Jewel of a zobo seller (mom) A role model to my siblings. My parents with their little income produced the Latest Graduate from the faculty of Education, University of Benin. Their contributions made me who I am today. What more can I say? President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday relived his experience in middle and secondary schools, while growing up and said his teachers never spared the rod, whenever he and his schoolmates misbehaved

“I spent nine years in the boarding school where the teachers showered us with love, care and total commitment. They treated you as their own children.

“They commended you when you did well, and flogged you on bare buttocks if you misbehaved,” said the President.

He shared his schooling experience in Daura, Katsina State, today after he was honoured by the town’s Community Secondary School, which he co-founded with five other persons, 50 years ago.


Buhari said he became an orphan at a young age, but his nine years in boarding school and joining the army shaped his life.

He said Nigeria’s socio-economic and political salvation will come from education, urging citizens to embrace learning as a way of life while the government will do its best to provide access.

He praised the current management of the school, which is now renamed Pilot Secondary School, Daura, for maintaining high standards.

President Buhari implored the old boys association to carry on the good work they were going, leading up to the current position of the school.

The former Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Adeyemi Ikuforiji is back on the radar with a bang! He’s back with two major accomplishments; He just completed his Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) in Leadership at the Liverpool Business School, John Moores University, Liverpool, England.

He was also called to Bar on Wednesday in Abuja, having passed the one year Law School examination.

Apparently with his eyes set for the future, Ikuforiji, who is the longest serving speaker in the history of the State law making body, went back to school to, according to him, seek more knowledge on leadership and management. “The doctorate took me over five years to complete due to the exigencies of my former office and the nature of my research,” he said.

Top actress and happily married mum of four, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has bagged an honorary degree in Doctorate of Art from the Igbinedion University today November 30th.

Also conferred with honorary degrees are former President Goodluck Jonathan, Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi (Kusenla III), Chairman Business International Management, and Mr. Sow Bertin Agba.

The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Lawrence Ezemonye, said the awardees were honoured for their contribution to human development and progress at the national and international levels.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 arraigned Alhaji Yusha'u Mohammed Kebbe before Justice Darius Khobo of the Kaduna State High Court, Kaduna on an eight-count charge, bordering on conspiracy and criminal breach of trust involving multi-million sums of money. .

The complainant alleged that in 2006 while he was in Sudan for a United Nations military operations, the defendant who is his childhood friend convinced him to invest in some projects that he is handling, for which he transferred the sum of N80,000,000 (Eight Million Naira) in local currency to him and $156,200,000 (One Hundred and Fifty-six Million, Two Hundred Thousand Dollars) for investment, safe keeping and settlement of personal commitments on his behalf.
