Man you just proved my point right. You don't win people over to your side by insulting/bullying them. But I will still pretend not to see your insults.

In 1999 no one had a choice because there were only two options on ground and they were both Yorubas. In 2003 the general election was total fraud as stated on wikipedia (whether you voted or not, it wasn't your vote that brought him in)so your claim on voting for a particular Yoruba man is flawed. In 2007 there were two major candidates both from the north.

No one is against someone from an ethnic minority. If you've forgotten, when he was against the so called cabal, people came out on the streets of Lagos to protest. The protests were led by Yorubas. In 2011 we all voted for him because he claimed to have no shoes growing up. His sin started in Jan 1 2012 with the removal of subsidy without preparing modalities to cushion the effect on the masses. Since then it has being from one great sin to the other. The worst was that he never took responsibility for any of it being the CEO of the nation. I also believed the sins are not hidden for anyone to see except someone in denial. His sins are so much that you will have to put them into various Heads and sub heads. Both direct sins and vicarious sins(PEJ). Even his wife admits that he has failed, telling us we should allow him to repeat. This is Nigeria(a Nation of 170million people) not some primary school.

Patriotism indeed. As patriotic as the biafrans. Talking about joining the fray. If you've not joined the fray then what are you doing here defending the clueless fisherman. 80% of TAN members on this forum are brothers/sisters from the SE. So are you still talking about joining the fray or you're mixed in the fray already.

Yes it is the Igbotic thing to do, to support Ebele Azikiwe even with all
the evidence of failure staring at you.

Yes you don't need the support of anyone because you're so big to have produced the most leaders for the nation. Dats why your minority neighbour has produced president while you the giant majority has not tasted it since God knows when abi. Shio

Take my advice, coming from a politically sophisticated tribe. Politics is a game of chess/draft. You learn how to negotiate and make sacrifice. Yorubas sacrificed the woman from south west that couldve being the speaker of house of reps just to get rid of PDP in the south west. While also gaining ally from the north east. Now PDP/GEJ is sweating for it.

Nice response. Dont mind that fool, he is only good at predicting result for the whole SW but when you do the same for the ibhoes, he will start throwing tantrums like a cursed kid. No one take him serious here.

I am convinced GEJ lacks the character and intellectual curiosity required even by the low standard of what passes for leadership in Nigeria. I believe that Jonathan got promoted to his level of incompetence when he became governor of Bayelsa following the impeachment of his mentor, DSP Alamiesieghe. That he rose beyond that to the highest office in the land, says much about what we have become as a people.
Jonathan’s sojourn as president has simply validated the old cliché that character is destiny. Duplicitous and timorous, this erstwhile lackey of Alams has been totally out of his depth, and that he has been allowed to occupy that office for the past 5 years (and actually seeks to extend it for another four) speaks volumes about the Nigerian project. I believe that on his own, GEJ probably could not have been elected chairman of a local govt in Bayelsa, talk less of leading the Ijaw nation. In the brutal words of Joe Biden, he was not qualified to be elected dog-catcher. But he has been president of the most populous country in Africa for 5 years and is in the cusp of buying himself a further four!
I do not believe that Buhari has the right ideas for these times. But this election is not about ideas. It is about character. The single biggest and urgent challenge facing Nigeria today is not economic or infrastructure or even the genuine conversation about Nigeria that I consider imperative. All those and more are critical, but what is needed and urgently is to work to rescue the Nigerian public space. In a nutshell, Government, in the holistic sense of that word, is nearly totally eroded in Nigeria, and until we work to arrest and reverse that fatal trajectory, we can never hope to start to address the other major problems plaguing Nigeria. Such job requires a man of character and integrity.
I do not for a moment suggest that Jonathan created this existential problem - we have been on this downward spiral since the end of the civil war. However I believe that he totally lacks what it takes to start to deal with the problem. He simply does not believe in accountability whether of himself or of others. His statements on corruption show that clearly. I cringed when I read him saying stuff like if any soldiers sabotage operations in the war against Boko Haram, such soldiers should not be fired (he made that clear!), but should be transferred out of the war zone. That right there captures his philosophy and practice regarding accountability!!
Yes there are things I found troubling about the very Nigerian project. I still doubt that as an Igbo that I have enough in common with the Northern Moslem to form a self-sustaining political community. However, there are things that I found even more troubling as an individual and a moral agent:
I find it very troubling that for 5 years now, hundreds of thousands of people in the North have had their lives turned upside down in the most savage of ways imaginable and all that the Nigerian government could do is propagandize and play politics with this tragedy.
I find it deeply disturbing that villagers in my state of Anambra could wake up one morning and see dozens of bodies floating down the river, and 2 years after, the identity of those bodies have not even be ascertained talk-less of finding out who and what killed them.
I find it demoralizing when I read in the papers that government agencies are fraudulently diverting billions meant for the common treasury and nobody is doing anything about it, and that even mid-level civil servants are being accused of stealing hundreds of millions of Naira from the public.
I believe all of these and more are just symptomatic of a bankrupt state and only a person with the character to insist that everyone plays by the rules and holds everybody accountable can start to arrest the Nigerian rot.
Such person is definitely not Jonathan Goodluck.

How do we avoid the impending dangers to Nigeria’s economy and existence under a Buhari presidency? We must need to face reality as there is no magic in governance. Extremely hard times lies ahead for this country if Buhari ever emerges victorious.

How do you explain to a Niger Deltan that despite GEJ's achievements in almost all sectors, roads, bridges, railways, agriculture, automobile, alamajiri schools, new universities, fertilizer and ghost worker scam elimination, freedom of press, FOI, free and fair elections, power sector. .........etc, he is still booted out.

What will stop the creeks from going haywire again? Buhari will send the troops to the creeks and together they will set the oil facilities ablaze.
OBJ's use of JTF force could not help as no Oil producing company will risk producing crude and killing staff in a volatile region. GEJ under Yaradua had to get down to the creeks to to talk to these boys and effect the amnesty program because they found him as a representation in government.

It will be impossible to convince a ND minority albeit a militant that their own was not persecuted out of office. And that will be the theme of their new struggle. The long term solution to this mess is implementing the Confab report and enthroning true federalism.

A lot of opportunities are springing up around Africa and the IOCs are already geared towards investing in these newer and saner climes than invest in an unstable Niger delta . And while these troubles persists, the oil producing companies will simply withdraw their personnel from the volatile region and all foreign investments will seize in all sectors.

Unfortunately, even if the Nigerian troops kill 90% of the militants, it will take just one militant, a dynamite and just one strategic location along the multi- kilometer trunk lines to continue to wreck havoc to the Nigerian economy.

Fast forward to 2019, if we remain one country and without a civil war,, we will be an economic wreck with no allocations and salaries, no capital projects, no hope with dollar exchanging for 400 naira and we are worse off than we were in 2015.

Cos the truth is that without crude proceeds for now, Nigeria is finished.

And then, we'll be screaming another 'Change' because we would have learnt a bitter lesson in the hands of the Fulanis, Tinubu and Saraki. And then we will ask.... Why were we this silly?

And before you quote me, make sure you outline in clear terms how you or Buhari will avert this obvious calamity staring us in the face
Only last week, they creek boys seem to have resumed activities by kidnapping at Yoho facility operated by Exxonmobil and have shut in 80KBD already. Are we ready for this for the next 4 years?

The entire world stands to benefit from a crisis in the Niger delta. Its not a coincidence that USA who abandoned us at the height of bokoharam is busy shouting for change in govt . Crises in the ND will reduce supply of crude to the Oil market and that would drive up the price of crude for producing countries.... But at Nigeria's expense.

Is Buhari is any way a better Democratic president than GEJ? Is this risk worth it?

Nigerians.... Be Warned!!!
