When you even go deeper you will find that it may be better to talk about the percentage of the population and not absolute numbers (but let me keep it simple for now so I do not lose you) . It is foolish for example to observe the birth rate of a population in just 1 month for example. The longer the time of observation the more accurate your analysis will be. There are so many factors to consider but let me stop here for now.
