Celestialsword:Not in the Orolu Local Government of the Orolu Kingdom of Ifon Osun does the local government chairman have more authority than our Oba! That might be because our local government belongs to our kingdom which is the Oba's domain. In fact, our local government can't go against our Oba, and must consult his office before imposing anything on the kingdom, unless it's the state government that is imposing, in which case the governor would have consulted the obas or is governing very ineffectively. |

CodeTemplarr:Marry me please, Templarr! Seun, this is how we will learn and evolve. But you know your spambot has no learning whatsoever don't you, because you've never fed it fruits of trees of knowledge! |
Mideh95:I feel for you. And your braveness wants to make me ask, “Where are your accusers? Who has condemned you” but yourself? Just one thing. You see that bit above? You have the "compulsive and impulsiveness" that most people have who never learnt to control it, so you squandered the 'teacher' support your uncle gave you and led your younger brother astray too and are now regretting it. Share this your post with your brother you led astray. The two of you sincerely and honestly supporting each other is better than alone. |

nnadychuks:As in my Orolu Kingdom of Ifon Osun appointing a king from our neighbour in Ilobu we are killing? That's not possible because the post is hereditary. You have to come from the family of obas to be eligible. So even my own family that is not oba family can not be oba much less another ethnicity. Saying that though, England did go and drag complete foreigners from another country to come and king them, and ethnically different Greeks and Romans did once sort of king Egypt, so I wouldn't call it madness, considering. It's just the way things have ended where obas are, I suppose.

Psalmcomng:Balance is key. Least as far as work goes. But better perhaps be done by 9, in bed by 10, well rested to wake for aluwala in the morning and work for my own breakthrough. I think Nigeria suffers from lack of night school where people can go to learn breakthrough and live, than staying awake all night yelling to God and disturbing the neighbours one should be responsible to. That definitely lacks wisdom and is therefore unjesusy. It's unbiblical too. Unless you were not cursed.

nnadychuks:What is government, first? |
Celestialsword:And indeed it does. nnadychuks, it's tradition. As in, we've forever had them, and built institutions around them that enable our communities to function as they do. Depending on the strength of an oba, they resolve conflict that is too small for other institutions or that the complainant is too small for, or those outsiders might not understand cultural nuances and just make worse if involved. And for their own glory, they usually endeavour for communal growth that benefits their kingdom and people. In the end it's not a 'why' question. It's just how we roll. |

I think the only thing I'd get after night vigil is tiredness the next day, and an inability to concentrate and do my job effectively and efficiently, and I'd be prone to accidents which is an added cost to my employer who will be pïssed of because I'd be much less productive than if I'd just slept. In fact, I think break through is the last thing I'd be receiving when he sacks me for poor performance and I've now added joblessness to whatever I was looking for at night vigils. Hey, at least there'd be one positive when that happens. I wouldn't need to do night vigil only and can 24-7 when my landlord kicks me out for not paying rent. Sorry, I think it's stupïd. But considering there's not much alternative night life in most places, I see it's entertainment value if in moderation. |
Vinnie2000:I'm beginning to think seun caught religion, or is becoming a toddler as the rest of us are growing older. He is definitely deevloving while we have evolved, and should seek new management to drive the forum forward instead of him dragging us backwards. https://www.nairaland.com/8511650/nairalands-bot-out-control/6#136917917 |
DrAkpa:That's the place, lol. |
Are there no banks that charge nothing or less? I used to get angry when they deducted ₦10 for sms ten years ago, so imagine. |
DrAkpa:It's still there? Amazing. He willed it to a child of his second wife, but the older ones of the first wife took it over, last I recall. I lived in 1 Enoma, the adjoining street, so could watch from my balcony. |
DrAkpa:Got banned twice already, so here's for a 3rd try.

Kukutente23:You are deflecting, and not engaging with the questions I asked you! The argument is not about modelling or commercialisation or not, but about quality. And it's very obvious that unqualified and untrained youth corpers can not model trained teachers even in Nigeria not to talk of UK. For your information, education in UK up till secondary school is tax funded and will cost your children nothing even if you have no income to be taxed. Whereas, free education in Nigeria is not what I'd wish for myself or my children. |
Kukutente23:You make me laugh. You see that last sentence? It shows you lack understanding of how democracy works. Your leaders are not the ones responsible for making sure democracy works. It is the duty of those who elect them, us, to hold them to account and ensure our leaders follow the democratic principles, and if they don't, we vote them out. And that's why you need an educated electorate. You can't hold leaders accountable if you lack the education and the understanding to hold them to account. Kukutente23:Wrong! You are not a victim if your vote is based on your own wrong values. You are actually an accomplice and a facilitator, and you deserve all you get from the system Kukutente23:This is the reason whywe should be educated enough to elect the right leaders and hold them accountable. Kukutente23:So, we are not even sufficiently knowledgeable to ensure our vote is counted and the election is not rigged, and when I say we need education you refuse to accept and learn? When you stub your toe on the ground, do you refuse to learn to lift up your feet when you walk too and blame the ground for your toe stubbing, or do you accept the ground is teaching you to lift up your feet so you don't stub your toe? Kukutente23:We, have a high rate of regression because we have not yet learnt how to practise democracy, obviously. And if we don't start learning we'd still be wailing in 2099. The choice is entirely ours. For your information, democracy in USA in some form or the other started in 1630, and they are still learning.

maigemuu, is it true you said that indices are "only valuable for students in schools and writing exams", and are of no use anywhere else? I missed that part. |
In a notice to customers sent via email at 6:42 p.m. on Friday, the refinery said the suspension would take effect from Sunday, September 28, 2025, citing the depletion of its crude-for-naira allocation. https://businessday.ng/energy/oilandgas/article/dangote-refinery-suspends-petrol-sales-in-naira-as-marketers-fear-price-hike/

You moniker is very appropriate. There was an ashewo house on Ago Palace Road who used his ashewos as fringe benefits. He died of Aids, and his children squabbled over his house and lost it all. |
obayendo1010:Odd thing is, this is an attack on Nigerians, and it will damage our economy no end. But hey! We Nigerians don't mind if dollar becomes ₦5k. So, go on PENGASSAN! Destroy the goose that lays our golden egg. #NigeriansSupportDangote |
Apogee14:I'm posting this from a different thread to add to your point. budaatum:
