Everything you said relies on the fact that institutional racism doesn't exist. How do you get justice when 1.) You can't afford a lawyer(your poor after all) and even if you could, the lawyers in your area are scared to take the case. 2.) the whole Police Department is racist. 3.) The Justices on the courts are racist 4.) And the appeals court decides not to take appeals from black people? Welcome to small town living. Where does this justice come from?

Now all those things I've mentioned, I didn't make up. Those are situations that have happened and most of them I've posted in this thread. You're speaking from a place of privilege which allows you to believe that you can affect how a racist person treats you. And it's your fault if you're the victim of racism. And honestly I find that highly offensive.

See my response to the stupid idiot, and here's another link about it.
https://www.nairaland.com/4508641/american-politics-thread-2024-elections/2330#102302250

I disagree with your gaslighting that "it's your fault if you're the victim of racism", since I never said any such thing. But yes, I do indeed speak "from a place of privilege".

35-40 years ago, I was constantly stopped just for driving a Ford Gti, which was considered to be a high performance car that I was assumed to be too young (and black) to drive. One week alone I had 3 producers to present my insurance and license at a police station within 14 days so I did. I gave the cop the first one and he registered my documents, then I gave him the second and he registered my documents again, and then I gave him the third one, and even he was shocked I had three in such a short time, and he was pissed I hadn't given him all 3 in one go. It was the last producer I ever had.

I was also once stopped for speeding though I wasn't speeding. It was an underpass on my way home from uni that I knew had cameras and I wasn't stupid. Cops checked my license and asked where I was from, so I gave my address, and was then asked where my parents were from "with a name like that", to wit I asked what my parents had to do with them stopping me. They then asked if they could search my car, and on finding nothing they said my tire had a gash on the side and was therefore defective and they gave me a fine with points on my license and 2 weeks to contest it if I would. So I wrote to the court what I've stated above, and that I'd brushed against the kerb on my way home and my tire fixer was just down the road where I was going to get my tire fixed as I didn't want to stop in the middle of a highway.

At court, the judge asked me if I was guilty or not, and I said I wasn't, so he asked the police to present their case and the lawyer for the police said the policeman who stopped me had refused to appear in court to testify, so the case was thrown out. Numerous times after that police would follow me for a while and eventually drive off because when they radio in to check my details they discover I've had producers and I'm not someone they can easily push over, I eventually found.

If I live in a small town where everyone is racist, then I would seriously need to check my head and ask why that's the town I choose to live and work in when I can very easily move my black ass elsewhere. But these days, one can sue for loss of earnings and mental health distress and for one's legal fees too, and I'm sure I can find an out of town lawyer to help me sue if I have evidence to prove the bus driver did not let me on the bus because of the colour of my skin, which I would have these days because the bus would likely have it's own CCTV showing the bus driver being racist, and the incentive for the lawyer is that he can sue for cost so it costs me nothing if I win.

That racist cretin of 35 years ago outsmarted me and I learnt from it and have since placed myself in the privileged position I am now in such that never again ever since, you see. In fact, it's like your "you can't know a place if you haven't lived there", same as I wouldn't know what to do if I hadn't had the experience I had that taught me what to do.

Fuq with me then, shame on you, but I'd be ashamed if I'm fuq with now.

Isn't it funny how a couple of years ago I was telling you to keep your victim mentality aside that racism in the UK is almost none existent. It is only how you treat the few encounters will determine how successful they are. Also, you complained how you could not keep your job because of racism and you have to quit, sometimes they take the side of the racist.

Not necessarily true. That's where the dangerousness of institutional racism comes in play.

Consider this example.
You live in the middle of nowhere in a small town. And the only way to get to work is ride a bus that comes 1x a day. The same person drives the bus. You don't make enough to buy a car, no neighbors who can take you and it's too far to walk.
The bus driver is racist and won't let you on the bus. The person in the town is also racist so you have noone to complain to. You need to ride the bus to get to work to make money. What could your response possibly be that would mitigate the success in their Racism?

How is it possible that I'd have no one to complain to when I can simply Twitter and Snapchat and Facebook and Youtube etc, and write to my local councillor and my Member of Parliament and the local news rag to show the whole world the racist bus driver letting the white folks on the bus and not me?

I live in Blighty where the bus driver's racism can not stop me getting on the bus because I can very easily get him sacked so he doesn't drive the bus no more. And if he isn't sacked, I can sue the racist person in town and the bus company itself and cost them all money they'd rather not spend. The bus driver would after all have had to sign the mandatory equality policy of the bus company when he was hired, so why the heck would he be that stupid unless he intends to not be driving the bus the very next day?

Here in UK, even the white folks he let on the bus would protest on my behalf, and I bet I can get my white friends in USA to protest on my behalf too if my own black protests are not enough, because everyone in town and at the bus stop can not all be racist, and even if that don't work I'm certain I can very easily NAACP and ACLU his racist ass and just Rosa Park the bus company too.

There's laws you see, and the colour of my skin does not bar me from using the courts and my brain, and that's what I mean by "how I hold myself".

As Fela would say, gbami leti kín di olowo please.

Disagree. Biden aggressively confronted Trump.

I happen to think Biden sat in his bunker and refused to go low with dump, which I appreciated a lot. But that's a matter of opinion I suppose, so we'd have to agree to differ. He isn't bunkering now though, and that bothers me somewhat.

If we say rigging is survival of the fittest then we will never get it right!

Life is only short for the ignorants who would not learn because their ignorance kills them.

While we might not need to invent the wheel, we still need to learn the history of the wheel, and how the wheel evolved into the wheel that exists today, and how to make our own wheel and how and what to use our wheel for, and if we don't start learning now and just continue claiming the winner is the fittest rigger, then our suffer head will indeed be long though our lifes would be brutal and painful and short.

I mean, just see me since Shagari, and I bet they were yelling rigged in the first general election in Nigeria in 1923 when the Nigerian National Democratic Party (NNDP) won three of the four elected seats in the Legislative Council, and you might understand how long we have been mediocre at following our own laws.

Golly, we haven't even learnt to obediently follow our simple traffic rules and laws yet, so that should show you how much more learning we still need to do.

I've been hearing this same rigged nonsense since the election of Shagari, and to me it sounds like the idle wailing of the losers. (And yes, rigging happens a lot in our elections!)

Chinua Achebe wrote that, "the hunter has learnt to shoot without missing, so the bird must learn to fly without perching", instead of wailing that the hunter shoots too well.

My Awolowo lost then, and my Obi lost now, and if he continues claiming he lost because others rigged, he will never ever win like my Awolowo never won.

Is there a reason why you're so lenient in your expectations of this govt?

We've practised democracy for less than 30 years, so I don't expect us to be perfect at it yet because I am aware how little we know and how mediocre we can be and how much more we need to learn to be competent at choosing who leads us.

This government, is a government of we the people by we the people. We conducted an election amongst ourselves to choose from amongst us who shall rule us, and even if we chose by rigging, it just shows how incompetent we are.

Now, if you think I am lenient on us, it's because I am being considerate of us. When we have failed a bit more and chosen (or rigged) into power those who disappoint us a lot more, we would learn to not be mediocre in the conduct of our elections and in our choices.

My hope is that it's well before 2123.

The phrase, "When the rain of no progress falls, it won't fall on only one man's housetop, remember that", means exactly the same as "na general sweet wey dey circulate".

Some can however mitigate their own hardship, and so don't need to complain like you assume every must or does.

I have nothing against Tinubu per se, but I am rather perplexed that the majority of Nigerians who complained during the two terms of 8 years of APC rule would vote APC for a third term, and I am very amused that some are even now calling for the return of Buhari.

The Obidients as a group have vowed not to see the progress and development of Nigeria ever since their principal loss in a contested election.

I am Obidient. I do obviously read. And I never "vowed not to see the progress and development of Nigeria", because that would be as stupid as vowing not to see my own progress, or yours for that matter, which I have no reason to do because your lack of progress would hold me back. So I must ask if you have vowed to lie for some reason, or you just can't accept that some see things different to how you do.
