I bagged my master's degree in China..In my University, we weren't allowed to go into some of the labs that Chinese students could access due to the nature of the research they were carrying out. Many students who come to United Kingdom will want to stay, especially if from a country with an economy like ours, and they will do anything to stay including "claim to be gay and some claim to be Afghanis" and "go to gay bars in the west end to take photos" as you've pointed out. I've even heard of some committing crime just so they can stay here in prison, but out of about 400k foreign students only 10k applied for asylum and much fewer are granted, according to evidence you say you "understood your facts, and i feel convinced" about, lol. But it's me. My sorry. I'm just pedantic.

Now, this is true. Many asylum seekers will "keep appealing until their appeal are exhausted which takes months and months", but many students would just go back home, or better still apply for UK Graduate Visas or Skilled Worker Visas, since they ought to better be able to use the knowledge they just spent over £20k a year getting to work out a stay than to claim asylum and refugee.

And no, I'm not suggesting those routes are any easier, but they can "keep appealing until their appeal are exhausted which takes months and months" too.

Even as of today student visa holders can apply to stay through the COS healthcare route i gathered.

Most don't qualify for the healthcare route, and the healthcare route is not the same as the student or asylum route.

You wouldn't believe how difficult it is to claim asylum in UK after having been here on a student visa, and there's no way to convince you despite providing you with facts, so I rest.

I'm trying to separate myself from the jurors and focusing on what their job was.
Their job was to set their biases aside, follow the law and vote based on the jury instructions whether they liked the law or not.
He told the other jurors he had reasonable doubt (have no reason to believe all 11 are lying when they said that) and by his words "was trying to figure out theories" (not his job). Therefore, he should have voted not guilty by reason of insanity.

You have reasonable doubts about what the prosecution said, not guilty by insanity. That was his job.

Now he could have decided he didn't like the law and even though he had reasonable doubt, just nullified the jury by voting guilty (without insanity). But he should be honest about that.

So, I do appreciate the convesation. From what I know of you, I think your justice minded, so your opinion here had to make me reevaluate why I thought what I thought. And I did. And I've come to the conclusion that you may have a bias here (no disrespect). Because I can't reconcile with what I believe is your justice mindedness, with what you believe about this case, with the fact of the case (as presented to the jury).

Of course I do have a bias, though it's not about this person's guilt or not, but if I were a juror my bias would likely influence my decision. Thankfully, there's eleven others with their own biases which may result in a decision that differs to mine.

I hope she is not found guilty in the end. I even hope the prosecutor will decide not to prosecute her again, as I bet more jurors (and not most) would find her guilty to make a point and there'd be another mistrial.

If a foreign student cannot afford to fund their studies anymore why not just leave rather they stay illegally and turn to crime that indicates that had being their original ulterior motives.

The UK issued around 406,824 sponsored study visas to main international applicant students in 2025 and less than 11,000 apply for asylum and refugee.

Immigration law does not make it easy to enter UK as a student and then claim assylum, unless you have evidence of prosecution in your home country, which does not apply to most students.

Most of those who apply for refugee or asylum are refused, which is why most do not go to UK anymore.

Many do leave. There's lots of foreign students from wealthy nations who are paid to be educated in UK to return to jobs back in their home country. And those who do stay can not be parasites, as they have no recourse to the public purse.

The tightening of the student visas system is so people don't abuse it as an entry system to not study, as they wouldn't have the means to fund their stay neither, and may likely turn to crime to survive.

This is very not correct and is very wrong. UK does not see foreign students as parasites at all, and in fact needs them to subsidise the UK education system. Unfortunately, foreign students are seeming to be finding better places to go get their education, and have abandoned UK. And the reduction in revenue due to the fall has left many universities struggling financially.

Giving education and providing jobs are 2 separate things. Foreign students are expected to leave the country after their education.
