Michael547:I think you need to accept that death comes to all and no one lives forever. A selfish person will not have lots of friends, and even family might me less familiar with them. Just imagine how you might feel about selfish parents. They will not spend their resources setting you up in life, and living might therefore be less comfortable for you than it might be for a person with unselfish generous parents. |
bemeruca:Of course it wouldn't make sense to you. When, after all, has anything I've said ever made sense to you? All the same, go say what that person said on the lovely streets of Nigeria where there are no immigrants to bother you, and come tell us what you experience. |
tenpipsperday:The VC will likely deserve his fate, as I bet he has no evidence for what he alleges. |
Michael547:Well, if you are unselfish to me, I will likely not be selfish to you in return unless I am a selfish asshǒle. And if I am not selfish to you and then die, you will likely not be selfish to my offspring unless you are a selfish asshǒle. If you are selfish, those who know you will not often be unselfish to you. |
bemeruca:Please go and say the same "facts" on the lovely streets of Nigeria where non-imported Nigerians will show you love and no one will bother to detain or protect you. |
Michael547:You are not smart because you know. You are smart because you ask and knock and seek by questioning so you may know. |
Michael547:A dead person has no benefits. Whatever benefits a person has are while they live. So how does being unselfish benefit a live person? |
Will this include the vandals who steal our national wealth in the Senate too? If so, I welcome this Sharia law. |
Michael547:How do I know you are smart? By discussing with you, I can easily tell. |
Michael547:I'm certain its a question you can answer for yourself if you want to. You do sound smart enough. |
basilico:Noooo! You kidding. Did he not live at the fictional 221b Baker Street? |
Michael547:Yes, I do "agree that after death, the life one lived and the things he acquired when Alive are absolutely of no benefit to him anymore". But only a selfish person lives for their own benefit. I may will all the cars I buy from you while I live to a charity that feeds the poor or schools the orphans long after I am dead. We are both living here now, and the words we are living may benefit those who read it long after we are both dead. Some even die so others may live and benefit.

mrvitalis:We can not produce ordinary orange juice because we do not have sufficient cheap energy to store it. We can not even process our cocoa because we lack the energy to process it. We definitely can not build factories that produce anything at a scale that makes it competitive to sell in the world market. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P7fi4hP_y80?si=CAFS4Tfiib7oouIp |
Dtruthspeaker:You are showing you can not think. |
Michael547:Like what is the point of buying a car from you since I would not continue to enjoy it? Because I will enjoy it while I live. And you will enjoy the profit you make from me buying it from you. And the tax you pay from selling me a car will improve the society we both live in (hopefully, you pay tax and it will not all be stolen). And the maintenance of the car I buy from you will create an enjoyable livelihood for the mechanic I take it to for service and repairs. |
mrvitalis:Spend it in building the infrastructure that enables us to say "and there was light". With uninterrupted electricity, Nigeria will generate far more than enough to pay the loan back in a shorter time as Nigerians will use the electric energy to create jobs and revenue. Alternatively, spend it on improving the infrastructure of our brains so we learn to understand that from the sweat of our brow shall we eat and to accept the taxation of the god houses. That alone will make the loan unnecessary. |
Michael547:No, I do not agree that our, or at least my, purpose on earth is just to live and die. Between the day I was born and the day that I die, I may choose many purposes, like my current one, which is to increase understanding so others may live longer and suffer less. I may have children too, and build lots of houses or buy many cars, or just enjoy my time on earth, and that is far more than "just to live and die". |
savenaijatoday:This is not true! 10,000 citizens can not remove a president that millions elected to make them suffer and die! If you don't want a leader who will make you suffer and die, open your eyes next time there's an election and don't elect someone who is "cluelessness and archaic, backward policies" who will make you suffer and die. In the meantime and until his 4 years are up, we made our bed with "cluelessness and archaic, backward policies" and must accept responsibility for the suffer and die we elected. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kOFu6b3w6c0?si=aWU6MkqnhuQlvxtC |
Michael547:Bad living is not living right, like eating the wrong foods, and not exercising or not improving ones knowledge by not learning. Everything grows old and dies eventually, because nothing lasts forever. We grow old and die because time goes by. If I buy a car from you and treat it very well, it will die someday, for that is the nature of things. Treating the car well will however give me more longer joy driving it than if I treated it badly. |
“These suspects are our staff. We have strong reasons for accusing them of being informants to bandits,” the vice chancellor revealed.”If he has evidence for this, why not suspend them pending an internal investigation and disciplinary action? Ok, na Naija, and that's not how we roll, but still.... |
Michael547:Our purpose is not just to live. Humans can choose additional purposes, like to live well or to help others live well. Those who wrote the Quran and Bible did not write it just so they may live, but so others too may learn to live long and well. Suffering is subjective. It is usually the product of bad living, and bad living is due to ignorance. If you learn to live well, you would likely suffer less. Those who live by the sweat of their brow (as in, use their brain to work for their daily bread), suffer less than those who pray for manna from heaven. |
Michael547:Michael, are you just trolling to smartly advertise cars? |
Michael547:Excuse me, but how did you jump from "believe God", to "humans have no purpose"? Humans do have purpose. Our purpose is living, and we are so smart that we write books and create gods to teach ourselves to have even higher purposes. Below is a worthy purpose we have written for ourselves In fact, if you don't have a purpose
|
Michael547:No, I don't believe that there are any Gods except for the ones we humans create for ourselves in our own heads. By the way, your question would make more sense without "believe". One only believes what one is not sure or certain of. I may believe I have a million Naira in my pocket because I don't know how much is in my pocket. Once I have checked my pocket, I would know if a million Naira was in it or not. |
Ayokequeen:They still need to pay for the data they use, so make it cost them and don't bother listening. |
BigJoe19:Men care. Some, at least. Little boys like a you obviously don't, yet. You will grow big. |
basilico:What? Don't you believe DomPerignon? You deserve each other, lol, with your conflicting conspiracies. |
Dtruthspeaker:You must think repeating yourself makes a thing true. Provide evifence so you can be believed! |
Ken4Christ:No, Ken, i do not believe Lord Luggard algamated Nigeria just because history recorded it. I can write a story here that I have 2 heads and next year provide it as evidence of my 2 heads, but I'm very certain you will not believe I have 2 heads just because I provided my story I wrote that I have 2 heads. There are documents signed at the time that one can check in Nigeria and in Lord Luggard's country to verify if Lord Luggard algamated Nigeria or not. That is how one tests all spirits, instead of just believing his story. |
DomPerignon:Lifting the ban on Jews settling in Britain was a very good thing. Him wanting to set up his own dynasty however, was frowned upon. Do tell though. What did the Jews do to you that makes you hate them so much? Did they leach Nigeria and take food off your table perhaps or what? Do you hate Muslims too? |
