JohnnyAmhan: This is a victory gotten from discipline-insularity and lack of Profesional love, while will they prefer the prefix "Dr" to their prevalent identity of "Pharm", what every one knew them to be. If u don't get a space out of this commodious earth to orchestrate your profession u'll never get one in your heart, #proudly a Dr and noting more# I shake my head.. No one is fighting for that title...who 'dr' don epp? We really do not care f Pharm.D is approved and our title still remains d same 'Pharm' I personally dont care... The main objective of Pharm.D programme is to train pharmacists to possess leadership qualities, clinical experience in order to be at the forefront of the pharmacy profession and health care..... |

Maxvasia: If you are not a Medical Doctor, you simply are not one. Shikena. If u are not one of us, you are not one of us. Its as simple as that. I do hope when a patient comes to a Pharmacist with uncontrolled posterior choanal nose bleed and deep laceration to one of the large vessels of the head and neck, the Pharmacy does not deny being a "Dr". Cos Being a real Medical Doctor aint beans.........ask me. Doctor of pharmacy, I repeat doctor of pharmacy... Sighs! Ignorance is so bad |

UI TO MAKE STATEMENT CONCERNING ADMISSION IN TWO WEEKS TIME – UI VC By UCJ UI on August 13, 2016 ADMIT CONFUSION OVER JAMB POLICY The admission policy of the University of Ibadan for the 2016/2017 academic year would be released in the next two weeks according to the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. A. I. Olayinka. The University head stated this while fielding questions from the correspondents of UCJUI who interviewed him recently in his office. “In the next two weeks maximum. The problem is we don’t want to make a policy and then tomorrow, the government comes up with something else,” Prof. Olayinka said as he mentioned that the University authorities were monitoring the moves of the new Registrar of Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) whether he would reverse the decision of his predecessor. The UI VC decried the policy of JAMB which stopped universities from conducting Post – Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (Post UTME) which he said had over the years improved the quality of students being admitted into the University. “May be up to 2003 or 2004, quite a large army of students were being asked to withdraw at the end of (their) first year on account of poor academic performance. We have statistics to back it up and it was a national problem,” Prof. Olayinka said. But with the conduct of Post UTME, the University had continued to admit the best students Nigerian secondary schools had got to produce as he said “we recorded our best (result) last year when 1.9 percent (of matriculants) were asked to withdraw”. On the next of students to be admitted, the Vice Chancellor said, “left to me, they should not be more than 3, 500” as he considered primarily hostel accommodation in the University could not cater for more than 8, 300 students including post graduates and medical students at Alexander Brown Hall, UCH. |
