JASONjnr: Lmao. It's crazy that I used to think like this too until I elevated my consciousness. Before poor people collect 1k to sell their votes, the civil servants and professionals don collect 200k-20million to paint these terrible leaders in good light to us. These civil servants and professionals allow the criminal leaders walk our streets. Nigerian lawyers, bankers, help them achieve their status, and all our great minds keep shut. Without professionals, bad leaders cannot even reach the people |

blacknp: 😂😂😂😂 I'm sorry I know you didn't quote me but I just had to intervene. An elder cannot be in the market and see a baby's neck in an uncomfortable position and look away. That other guy is absolutely correct. Quick Economics -- the one true process that can strengthen the naira against the dollar is development. The question is, is the Nigerian government developing the people? (1) When the Nigerian government develops the children, it means the kids get the best schools in the world and that brings foreigner's kids who have to look for naira. (2) When the Nigerian govt wants to develop its people's quality of life, the best hospitals will be built for them and docs and again foreigners troop in. (3) Again, when the govt wants to develop it's people, it'll provide easily accessible loans for even poor people, for small scale refineries and those kids you see building funny looking cardboard cars to engage in business to tackle local challenges in which the best idea gets to bring in Forex. In this way, Nigeria will never be dependent on the dollar. But what your govt does is bring in investment. What is investment? Put small in Nigeria and take plenty out of Nigeria. It'll never be enough. Follow MOP centre on social media so we can liberate Nigeria and quit being dependent on the dollar. 1 Like |

StPete: 🤣🤣🤣 The foolishness is beyond me. What's crazy is Tinubu can never bring the naira to be N700 cos the gap between USA and Nigeria has been further widened since Buhari. There hasn't been any effort put towards the development of Nigeria, it's all been investment and investment doesn't actually give value to the country, only to the investors. So, for Tinubu 2nd term, all he has to say is "I revalued the naira" around 900/$ and some will fall for it. 3 Likes |

InteliJ: My exact thoughts. Even when Saro-Wiwa was all over them and the bloodshed was at an all time high, Shell never conceded to the "challenging operating environment". WHY NOW that our leaders and elders have fallen flat and given them premium oil spilling packages for 0.001% shares in Shell? Their shareholders/analysts have done the math. They've moved to sustainable energy, the new crude and have left the rubble for Nigerians, again, like how they left West Africa with dying slave trading business when they'd moved on to industrialisation. 2 Likes |
Politics / Re: Shuaibu Abubakar: Tinubu Plans For Nigeria To Be The China Of Africa (video) by BurntDodo: 12:27pm On Jan 16 |
Really? Tinubu, a compromised leader who is an agent for foreign interest/imperialism/neocolonialism wants Nigeria to become like China, a country that adopted socialism and Marxism and other pro-people ideas. Does this Abubakar know that the punishment for embezzlement and corruption in China is death sentence? Pick another country to imitate because in China, all of you will be dead by the end of your interviews. 1 Like |
Politics / Re: Policemen Not Permitted To Search Citizens’ Phones – Lagos CP by BurntDodo: 9:10am On Jan 15 |
uuzba: Why you do Bill Gates like that 😂😂 Sometimes it's not even about how you dress, just by being in a bolt ride even with your boring polo and chinos will warrant a phone search or worse. Quick story. A couple of years ago, it was my friend's birthday, and so 3 of us, in our early 20s decided to contribute money to take a bolt ride and get pizza and a drink. You know, have a nice time instead of jumping from molue to molue. Halfway to the pizza place, policemen stopped our bolt, interrogated the bolt guy and immediately they saw the situation, no questions asked, they instructed all 3 of us to get down and told the bolt to leave. Our confused selves protested but to no avail. The policemen were huge and they made caveman-like sounds as they got physical and dragged us into their black maria. They locked the doors and accused us of being cultists. I believe they wanted us to get scared and just immediately ask how we can pay our way out. We pleaded that we weren't cultists, we even showed school ID. Again, futile. They proceeded to driving us to their police station. This was the first time in my life I was the one begging policemen to check my phone to clear the air because I'll be honest, I'd never walked through the gates of a police station before, it isn't quite the holiday spot. I was bewildered by the irony that THE POLICE WERE UNINTERESTED IN CHECKING OUR PHONES! Declining their favourite hobby! I knew then and there that we were in big trouble. Upon arrival at the station, again, with cavemen-like sounds by the policemen, we were dragged into the station. The station looked like a shanty town and I think I heard cries somewhere in the walls. Now, I was fully on fight or flight mode, as my reality was very surreal. The policemen ushered us into a small office and we met at least 50 boys seated on the floor in front of one heavy inspector. He looked at all 3 of us head to toe and told his men to dismiss us. And that was how we escaped what could have been an everlasting traumatic experience but we got off with just one or two days of nightmares. We went home and forgot about the birthday celebration. 1 Like |

Kizyte: You : Am I under investigation? NPF : Yes, you're a cultist You : I am not a cultist NPF : Then you're following us to the station Drags you into their pick up van and drives you to unfamiliar roads. You start to panic and perhaps you break. You : Where are you taking me to? NPF : (silence) You : What type of harassment is this, unlawful detainment. Oyah I've unlocked my phone. dawnomike: Right. But you know when one leaves a loved one in anger and the loved one dies and the last words one told them is "I hate you". That's how I feel about my NYSC/CDS especially the POP where I left without even saying hi to anybody. I want closure. |
Culture / What I Regret After NYSC by BurntDodo: 8:20pm On Dec 15, 2023 |
I just rounded up my NYSC/CDS and it had it ups and downs, mostly downs so I thought I'd share a couple of thoughts. (1) I SHOULD HAVE STAYED THE ENTIRE 3 WEEKS AT CAMP. I left camp on the first day because I was sick but I think I was being soft. I should have stayed. Because of that, I didn't make a single friend and so at CDS, it was so difficult to make friends despite attending consistently. If I had stayed the entire 3 weeks at camp, chances are I'd have built strong bonds with someone that'd be posted to my LG. And so, I was alone the entire 12 months at CDS. Some days I'd talk to guys at CDS but it just never stuck. (2) I REGRET THE FIRST 2 GIRLS I TALKED TO AT MY CDS. The first girl, I saw that she was a loner like me and I talked to her, got her number and all that but she wasn't giving me good energy. The second girl, I thought she was cute and so I struck up a conversation and got her number. On getting home, she wouldn't pick up my calls, she was acting very weird. Even at CDS, whenever I tried to talk to her she would literally use evasive manoeuvres. This girl really did a number on me I couldn't even ask her why she was acting like that. I started feeling really weird and insecure. (3) I SHOULD HAVE TAKEN MY FINAL SHOT. There was this one girl at my CDS that was actually taking glances at me unlike the two that I went to meet out of the blue, and I really liked her too but because of what had happened before, I was uninterested and also insecure. I just kept waiting for the perfect timing. I wasted about 3 months waiting for the perfect timing. Never even got to say the word "hi" to her. (4) I REGRET LEAVING MY POP EARLY. Immediately I picked up my certificate this morning, I headed for the gate, almost didn't even take a picture with my cert. I actually thought of waiting but I didn't think there was anybody worth waiting for to congratulate plus it would be so awkward sitting alone on a stone. I cried a little on the journey home wishing I stayed back just to watch people be happy. I know companionship isn't the main point of the NYSC but still as a human, I long for social connections. I didn't make the best out of the NYSC at all and it makes my stomach turn. NOT ONE FRIEND! Almost wishing for a do-over. On the journey home, it dawned on me that I had just concluded a part of my life, I wouldn't be able to wear the white and green that makes everybody stare at me, I wouldn't be able to go for CDS anymore (even though I hated it), and I wouldn't see the girls again. The worst part is for some reason, towards the weeks of final clearance, everybody started warming up to me, I was finally able to show my humour that one guy asked "Are you in this LGA?" when people ask me that, I know it's that I would have been part of their clique from day 1. Quick question, would I be considered a psychopath if I called the 2nd girl who was evading me to ask why? Also, the girl I didn't take my shot with, I found her no on the magazine, should I call to tell her I have a crush on her maybe it doesn't have to end with CDS? 1 Like |

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Sheffield United Vs Liverpool (0 - 2) On 6th December 2023 by BurntDodo: 7:32pm On Dec 06, 2023 |
If Sheffield know how to exploit the two 6 spaces between Konate and Szobozlai or VVD and Gravenberch, those spaces beside Mac Allister that he's too slow to cover, just like Fulham did last week and Chelsea have been doing since 2019 using inverted wingers, then Sheffield can guarantee themselves 2 goals. When opp carry the ball from the sideline to centre in that space during a counter, Liverpool centre backs are usually hesitant to do anything because the striker is probably also making a run at the same time. We suffer this thing for Sterling and Foden hand tire. Players that carry ball into pockets of space kill Liverpool. But Klopp shows that he's levels below Pep sometimes when even he doesn't identify his weaknesses. Because of that 6 space, it's imperative that Liverpool invests in the best of DMs in the world who can show up defensively consistently to close up the space and also play out the back. Someone like Rodri. |

judatech: You people do not understand your reality is why you all sound like robots when things happen. You live in a capitalist country/system where profit comes before everything, including humanity. The best way to make profit from the man is after his death, right now he's not valuable. And we allow it so why you acting surprised? Whereas in a socialist economy, humanity comes before profit. In fact it's the duty of the government to provide jobs for the citizens or pay them wages where there are no jobs. 2 Likes |

Delacroix6: So we’re plenty 😂😂 I'm 26 too and I sound like a 12 year old boy. The worst part is I have the body of a 35 year old. 6'3, bloodshot eyes and bearded. I get respect before speaking and then disrespected after I speak. Happens every time. I get spoken over, I get awkward silences after I speak in the group of people, I can’t even convince anybody anymore. What’s painful is as a kid I used to have so much confidence because I was outspoken and all kids sounded funny so I fitted in. Now I don’t even shout. Although, early in the morning, my voice is usually as deep as a lion's. I lose it by 11am like Ariel from The Little Mermaid lol. |

Playing 4 attackers especially when they’re playing very flexibly could mean a lot of loose passes and we’ve seen plenty from Liverpool but trust TRENT ALEXANDER-ARNOLD to calm the waters and read the attack. Although his defensive game still wobbles. He's the sole reason the attack is actually attacking. Props to Gakpo too, he’s been everywhere and always making the right decisions. Very versatile player. Jota seriously disturbing Brentford. His goal is loading. Salah mehhhh. Nunez is showing spirit. Tsimikas na otondo 2 Likes |
