There is a time to campaign.

There is a time to criticise.

And there is a time to simply thank God that innocent children are alive.

The rescue of the abducted Oyo pupils and teachers should have been one of those moments.

Instead, Atiku Abubakar immediately framed it through the prism of politics, suggesting that the timing of the rescue alongside the APC's campaign activities was somehow suspicious.

Governments do not usually control the exact day intelligence-led rescue operations succeed. Such operations often depend on surveillance, actionable intelligence and operational readiness, not political calendars.

Ironically, Atiku urged that "politics can wait," yet his own statement turned a rescue into a political talking point.

That is precisely what he said should not happen.

Opposition is essential in a democracy.

But so is restraint.

Not every national success should be viewed first as a political loss for the government.

Sometimes, rescued children should simply be rescued children.

First of all I want to say a very big thank you to God and to all who puts efforts in rescuing/paying ransome for the release of the kidnapped Oyo students and teachers victims.
From the presidency to the state governor to all the security agencies that fought tooth and nail for this to happen I say weldone.

Now lets delve into real matters.
Where they truly rescue or paid ransome for?
We all know it will be a slap in the face of the govt if they admit ransome was paid. But then it really looks like that's what happened.
Ok, now let's agree they were rescue.
Who and who did our security agencies fought to rescue them?
We were told some of the kidnappers were neutralize and 8 arressted.
.
So our security agencies are short of phone cameras to capture the dead kidnappers and also parade and capture the arrested ones.
And whose dumb hardened kidnappers will see security agents approaching them and then leave the children kidnapped to go and exchanged fire with our security agencies when they have a big bullet proof and human shield which are the kids.
So while the exchange of fire was going on, the kidnappers foolishly kept the kids one side and engaged in battle, and no stray bullet hits any of the kids.

I'm trying to make sense out of the kids were rescue just like that after exchanging gun fire with the kidnappers. Where were the kids when this gun battle was going on?
I am not a thief, I am not a kidnapper nor hardened criminal. But simple logic tells me if I am in the kidnappers shoes, those kids are my escape route.
Is it not to round up all the children, put guns all around them and tell the security agents to back off or you kill all of them.

All of a sudden hardened criminals will just lose that part of their sense and allow you come in just like and rescue the kids.
It's a know fact that govt will not admit they paid ransome, but this to me and many reasonable fellows knows this is what transpired.
You killed and arrested hardened criminals that have made Nigeria restless for 56 days and you quickly hide their faces, for what?
Do they want to pardon them or what?
The last thing I want to hear is they want to investigate them first.
Investigate what? For people you told us you caught red handed.

Fellow Nigerians, for govt failing to show us immediately the corpse of the dead kidnappers and the faces of the arrested ones, it is a 💯 ransome payment that got those victims out which is not bad in itself as far as they all came back alive.
I can beat my chest that by now, govt are trying to go to prison yards and bring out some criminals who will willingly agrees to let their face shown and take the fall of being the kidnappers.
This I am very sure will be going on now cus there was no kidnappers they caught in the first place. Ransome was fully paid and everybody went his ways.
