With all due respect Mr. Bushdoctor wikipedia defines DJ as

A disc jockey (abbreviated DJ, D.J. or deejay) is a person who mixes recorded music in real time. Originally, the "disc" in "disc jockey" referred to gramophone records, but now "DJ" is used as an all-encompassing term to describe someon who mixes recorded music from any sources, including cassettes, CDs, or digital audio files on a CDJ or laptop. DJs typically perform for a live or broadcast audience, but DJ also create mixes that are recorded for later sale and distribution.

I see anyone who plays music from a player to an audience as a DJ irrespective of how he plays it, he/she is either a good or bad DJ. I started out as a laptop DJ cos of my love for music at home someone discovered me and asked me to use his gadgets (a reloop terminal mix4 and a pair of numark 400somtin CDJs and a numark ms6 mixer) which i learnt over a week with youtube tutorials worth 15GB, i did well and i still use his gadgets for my shows, (tho im not registered, hoping to do that soon), now i can use virtual DJ software to play(what really matters is the music) only when im running a voluntary gig, please does that makes me less a DJ.
I dont have my own gadgets cos of insufficient funds, but i can use 3 dj softwares very well and a pair of cdjs, i can do all those things u listed except some advance scratching i here from hiphop pro djs, should i kill my dream as a DJ because i just own a laptop.
Am sorry if you can't comprehend my write up well, I am not writing off the use of the laptop in all its entirety. My point is a good Dj should know the rudiments of the trade, if the manufactures of Dj gear do not see the importance of turntables, cdj players and controllers they wouldn't be manufacturing them. my point is we should discouraged the use of just virtual Dj software on laptop use by djs. are you aware that you cant use serato and traitor without the hardware . I know a lot of boys who claim to be Dj but can't mix without a lappy. checkout this scenario, a Dj set up his gears with turntables or controller with a mixer and amp, subwoofer/high range acoustic speakers and another dj with just a laptop mixer/amp and speakers who gets more respect amongst the two? Laptop is meant to enhance and not take away the skills from the dj. (you see most djs are always glued to their lappy instead of the crowd, it is unprofessional that is why companies like Numark produced the NV controller to discourage DJs from that act ). You stated in your write up that you improved your skills by knowing how to use cdjs from YouTube tutorials, (if it is not important you shouldn't have taking that step) that is what I expect from DJs to strive to do improve on their skills. The scratch styles I wrote about is just a plus for one to be on top of his game not a criteria anyway. I haven't seen a topnotch professional Dj without a turntables, cdjs or controller. But to rely on your laptop alone for your mixes is what I am trying to discourage. Been a member of an association is an individual thing and not withing the scope of this white up, (Remember Terry g and Dj jimmy jatts/DJAN saga.) pls keep the spirit alive, you will sooner than later have your equipments if you perceiver. Good luck bro. #ONEBEATONEVOICE

The tread should be for serious minded DJ's, those who are versatile with turntables, players and at least controllers. if you are just a laptop virtual dee jay who sycronise with the lappy keys, then you are far from been called a Dj. A Dj should be able to use the afomentioned gear perfectly, know how to calculate your BPM manually, cue point, beat matching, beatjuggling then some basic scratch styles e.g scrab, phantom, stab, etc. If you are still dependent on your laptop for your mixes please I advise you upgrade and learn from the pros in the game. (certification of djs by djan is in the pipe line, don't be caught napping)
I have over 25yrs experience on the wheel of steel and have mentored quite a number of DJ's. but slowing down now due to age and other commitments. -- from Dj bush CEO music laboratory lokoja. representing Kogi state.#ONEBEATONEVOICE.

The boy invented a walkie talkie and not a phone. Walkie talkie is what we call a ONE-WAY communication gadget. Two people cannot speak at the same time, one must speak and wait for the other to speak.....reason the communication goes thus:

Me: come-in Lalasticlala, Over
Lala: Yea bros, Over
Me: snake topic no dey 2day? Over
Lala: I never see anyone ooooo, Over
Etc....

He needs licence to operate a telephone communication.

All the same, congratulations to the small boy.

The second pix is the main entrance of the gate/fence While the first is part of the buildings inside the palace. I have gone inside the palace on two occasion, most of the structures are not completed within except a few. The outward part of the building are painted but the inside is like most construction projects we see everywhere that are still ongoing. Most artisans that worked on these edifice are all been owed their wages. 70% of the structure are not completed since time immemorial including his seven storey hotel that has been abandoned for over thirty years. The man has been scamming people for long.

Business / Foreign Online Retail Stores In Nigeria by BushDoctor123: 11:00am On Jul 20, 2016
Av been wandering why there are no foreign online stores like, Amazon, EBay, Bestbuy etc in Nigerian. What I notice are some persons/company who are mostly fraudster parading themselves as agents. konga, Jumia and others are trying but have very limited items on display. I think its high time we have those foreign online stores were one can walk in buy items and pay in naira.

Just curious and want to know what you expect shocked from 'we DJs' as our music continues to go global. Also what you don't like
The future don't seems bright because a lot of guys who calls themselves DJs now do not know the rudiments of the trade. 80% of them are just laptop (virtual ) DJs. Until they acquire more skills in the trade and know how to use turntables, cdj and controllers effectively before graduating to beat juggling, complex scratch styles and battles etc, that is what djaying is all about. DJaying is a branch of music. Checkout most DJs from Europe and America you hardly will find a lappy Dj almost of them are graduates and professional s to the core, but here in Nigeria what you see is most DJs looking unkept and some can't even communicate fluently with their audience or double as an mc, they find solace in the job because of unemployment. The high cost of good equipments too is another militating factor, government can help by removing import duties on certain categories of Dj/musical equipments. The other point is the CERTIFICATION of DJs, Until the certification becomes a reality (to remove the chaff from the grains) the future of djaying in Nigeria will be on a long thing. #ONEBEATONEVOICE#

Politics / Re: Nigerian And Indian Firm Agree On Ajaokuta Steel Company by BushDoctor123: 12:43am On Jul 15, 2016
I have it on good authority NOW that the minister of steel has been officially mandated to discuss with Russian TPE the original designers/builders of the steel plant. the meno is in two parts, but the minister in concert with the said cabals are still trying to persuade the president to give in to the indians( (for their selfish interest). Fayemi has refused to release the letters to the press thinking "they"can still arm twist the president. The copies of the memo is with a concern stakeholder, who does not want to usurp the power of the minister to officially announce to Nigerians the decision of Mr president. But if he fails to make the letter nay memo public in good time Nigerias will read the full content of the official memo from Mr president any moment. #FAYEMI SHOULD RELEASE THE MEMO NOW. or we do it for you. #ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

On point. Indians are criminally minded, just like the Lebanese. These Nigerian cabals are in league with them. Let us watch and see how it plays out.
Politics / Re: Nigerian And Indian Firm Agree On Ajaokuta Steel Company by BushDoctor123: 1:51pm On Jul 09, 2016
In as much as we want ASCOL/NIOMCO to come on stream soonest we should be weary of the Indians. I believe the west and some cabals in the presidency are still trying to short change Nigerians. The Indians have once been given the concession of the company, what came out of it were woes. they carted away vital parts of the steel plants under the guise of borrowing and, when the host community stood against them they used the police to kill, main and burnt their house's in Ogaminana kogi state, these same Indians are back again. What stop the federal govt from reaching an agreement with TPE in Russia since they built the steel plant and still have the original drawings and designs with them. Russians are known to have built better steel plants for China, Pakistan etc and even India. They are known to be maintaining the plants in those countries including the ones in india . So what is the rationale of bringing back the Indians if not to do the bidding of those same cabal whose plans is to milk the nation dry. For Ajaokuta to succeed we should go back to the original builders otherwise it will not be Uhuru. My two cent.
