He could have channelled that intelligence and knowledge for legit work, but no, it's all about planting cocoa in the morning and harvesting in the evening of the same day. Quick cash and profit, often leads to temptations.

Nairaland General › Re: Woman Rescued After Jumping Into Lagos Lagoon (Video) by Businext: 10:04pm On Aug 04

I am sorry to read this. No one should commit suicide. Not because there is no hardship, but because life is for the living and where there is life, there is hope. Any time I pass that Idumota axis and look at the Lagoon from there and see the filth, I can only imagine that even if someone mistakenly falls into it, the filth will be what will harm the person and not just drowning from water. The sad part of this story is that the woman may be arrested for attempted suicide. Oh what a country. What she needs is counselling not incarceration.

This is highly commendable. Business/work makes a human independent and helps add to dignity. Gov. Sanwo-Olu has touched both physical infrastructural development and human capital development. The only thing he may score low is in area of flooding and dirt. I wish him well and hopes he finishes strong as a two time governor of Lagos state.

This goal margin is too much oh.
The world cup was a keenly contested one.
Sadly Nigeria's issues didn't allow many to enjoy it.
Especially as Nigeria didn't qualify and allow their fan club find easy japa route.
Well let's remember rains are still falling heavily in some parts of Nigeria.
Drains are being blocked by I don care people.
We have not had light for a whole week.
Diesel is N1610 and fuel is N1140.
Power banks take long to recharge and they serve you for a short while.
Onions are expensive.
A fake agency was discovered and the matter killed.
Celebrities have been advised to support NGOs.
The dead are being dragged and not allowed to rest.
Mary and Favour's suspects are trying to save their necks.
In all, billions of people in the world will be looking forward to Argentina vs. Spain.
People are praying so their ticket won't cut.
Some are still unaware of their blood pressure.
A few others will rely on Viewing Centres and not burn fuel.
Others are just looking to watch a good game.

@op you can say it again @ your topic
Walk into Courtrooms and see cause list, list of cases
For the day and the number of divorce cases can reach 2 pages
Sad
If you check unfortunately you may even see the names of couples you know
Saturdays are still for weddings
People are still getting married
Marriage is honourable
As water drowns it also gives life
I choose to love water and enjoy it's good
Marriage is still the best way to start and grow a family and life long relationship

Career › Re: Why Nigerian Employers Get Away With Paying Peanuts & Why We Never Talk About It by Businext: 10:04pm On Jul 15

If you get a job that has little respect, get up and leave
You are more important than money
Take courage to leave any employment that uses you and does not pay well
They may make you feel dispensable and replaceable
But on earth no one else has your eye print or finger print or exact DNA make up
You are unique
The small pay maybe avenues for you to -
Push you to other legitimate sources of income
Quit and start your own
Learn empathy when you get better pay as the superior and bring changes
Just learn the ropes of the job and move to a better one as an experienced worker
Gather experience and start your own
Expose the wickedness of the Organisation to deter others desperate for that position

Politics › Re: Bandit Commander, Dangata Abba & Armed Gang Members Display Ransom Cash Online by Businext: 12:22pm On Oct 04, 2025

What we are seeing there is not just money, cash but people's sacrifice, sweat, debt and suffering.
People have had to borrow, sell off properties, beg, and other things to raise ransom money.
Some sadly still lost their loved ones, some never even saw body, some received their loved ones damaged and needing medical and psychological help afterwards.
To those without hearts, it's is just money.
For people with hearts, it is ransom for a life of a loved one who's value transcends beyond any amount of money.
May God protect us from ransom paying and kidnapping in any way in Jesus name, amen.
Anyone with suggestion on how we who are not in government or in authority or don't have so much money can help to curb and stop this dastardly act of kidnapping, crime, ransom paying. Let us see how we help the nation.
