WUESE TYOPEV DUMP PDP, SAYS IT IS A USELESS PARTY

The former chairman of Ushongo local government and chieftain of the PDP Hon Wuese Tyopev yesterday led thousands of PDP supporters to join the All Progressive Congress with a call on other Ushongo sons and daughters to leave the evil party saying it doesn't have the interest of the people at heart.


Hon Tyopev stated this yesterday in Ge-Mbagwa primary school in Lessel venue of the decamping ceremony. The event which saw movement from other political parties such as Social Democratic Party (SDP), African Democratic Congress (ADC) to the APC was attended by the executive officials of the party.


Speaking at the event Chief Mrs Mimi Adzape Orubibi, the APC senatorial candidate in Benue North East Senatorial district called on the people to come out massively on February 16 to vote president Buhari, Governor Emmanuel Jime, Barr Benjamin Wayo, herself and all the other APC candidates in the party.


The member representing Kwande/Ushongo Barr Benjamin Wayo informed party supporters at the venue that PDP has nothing to offer Nigerians. The honourable member stated that if anybody used his brother to increase the herdsmen crisis in the state and is using that as a campaign strategy such evil plans should be resisted by the people come next month.


Also speaking the House of Assembly candidate for Ushongo state constituency Hon Lee Ahenjir who gave a brief message encourage Ushongo people who are known for resisting bad government to do same come next month. The climax of the event was the handover and destruction of PDP and other party's cards for destruction.

Leaders of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Estako East and Owan East local government areas of Edo State have defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). The PDP defectors were led by a former council chairman, Chief Godwin Eshieshi and the Youth leader of PDP in the locality, Enoch Omokhagbon.

They defected at the Ward to Ward campaign rally of the APC in Okpella, Estako East local government area and Afuze in Owan East local government area. Eshieshi who declared that the “PDP is finished” in Estako East said he joined the ruling party to attract development to Okpella and other communities. He stated that it was wrong for him to work against the interest of national chairman of the APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, who hails from Estako West.

According to him, “Oshiomhole has been nice to our people. We feel we should repay him by helping to deliver victory for President Muhammadu Buhari and all APC candidates in Edo North. It is a tall dream for the PDP to win in Edo North.” In Owan East, PDP Youth leader in the locality, Mr. Bright Imolobe said he decided to quite the PDP due to the developmental strides of Senator Francis Alimikhena.

Imolobe said Senator Alimikhena has regularly empowered youth and women irrespective of party affiliation. According to him, “ If Senator Alimikhena could execute these massive projects in just his first tenure we cannot be left behind from benefiting in his second tenure. We must tell ourselves the bitter truth. PDP cannot win any ward in Edo North.” Senator Alimikhena who gave scholarship to students in universities and Polytechnics at the rallies promised to do more if re-elected.

Alimikhena also gave fertiliser to farmers present at the rallies. He said, “We will concentrate on building our physical infrastructure and human capacity development to move Edo North forward. We will create more jobs by every means possible and make visible difference to ordinary Edo North people.”

A federal capital territory high court on Monday dismissed the suit filed by Ladi Adebutu to challenge the nomination of Buruji Kashamu as the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun state. Kashamu Kashamu, senator representing Ogun east and Adebutu had been at loggerheads over the governorship ticket of the PDP in the state. In the suit, Adebutu asked the court to declare him the authentic candidate of the party for the March 2 governorship election.

While delivering judgement, Ajoke Adepoju, the presiding judge, said the case filed by Adebutu cannot be maintained to declare him the governorship candidate of the PDP. Adepoju said although Adebutu was nominated by the national working committee (NWC) of the party, the primary election where he emerged as candidate was conducted in violation of a subsisting court judgment.

The judge held that the PDP national working committee acted in bad faith by flouting a subsisting judgment of a federal high court delivered by Ibrahim Buba. Adepoju added that the judgment was binding on the party and must be respected to protect the sanctity of court in the interest of the rule of law. The judge said the national working committee cannot not conduct a valid primary election without the Ogun state chapter of the party until the judgment of the federal high court has been set aside by a higher court.

Adepoju dismissed the suit in its entirety, citing the need for sanctity and judgments of courts to be protected by parties or individuals. With the judgment, Kashamu and the candidates that emerged through the primary election conducted by the Adebayo Dayo-led faction remain the party’s flag-bearers for the forthcoming election. On Thursday, Kashamu had called on his supporters to work with Adebutu in the interest of the party

A former Chief Whip of the Sokoto State House of Assembly, Alhaji Bello Yahayya Wurno, three
former elected Chairmen of Rabah Local Government , a former Special Adviser to Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal and a former Caretaker Councillor and over 20687 other members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),on Saturday defected to the All Progressives Congress ( APC).

This is contained in a statement signed by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Bashir Rabe Mani, Dan Masanin Mani ans issued to newsmen in Sokoto.

The statement said that , the decampees were received into the fold of the party at the flag off of the Sokoto State Eastern Zone Campaign in Wurno and Rabah towns, respectively .

The statement said that, some of the prominent defectors in Wurno Local Government include Alhaji Bello Yahayya Wurno, Alhaji Abubakar Hamma'Ali and Alhaji Chika Hamma'Ali, former Public Relations Officer, as well as Secretary of the PDP In Hamma'Ali ward , respectively.

Speaking on their behalf , Alhaji Bello Yahayya Wurno said that, they joined APC because of the prevailing justice, fairness and equity , as well as the tangible achievements of Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko when he was the Governor of the state between 2007 and 2015.

In Rabah Local Government, the prominent defectors include three former elected Chairmen of the area : Alhaji Mohammed Rabah, Alhaji Yusuf Mohammed Rabah , Alhaji Ango Shehu Rabah and a former Vice Chairman, Alhaji Alhassan Ibrahim Rarah.

Others were : A former member of the Sokoto State House of Assembly, Alhaji Ibrahim Tsamiya
, a former Special Adviser to Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, Alhaji Husseini Gandi and a former Caretaker Councillor, Alhaji Tukur Mohammed, among others .

Speaking on their behalf, Alhaji Yusuf Mohammed Rabah averred that, they left their former party because, " there is no any other party like the APC. "
The leader of the party in the state, the Chairman of the Northern Senators Forum, Senator Aliyu
Magatakarda Wamakko, promised that they will be treated fairly, justly and equally, like the older members of the party .

He described Rabah town as historic and key , as it is the home town of the Iconic leader of the North, the late Premier of Northern Nigeria , Sir Ahmadu Bello , the Sardauna of Sokoto.

Senator Wamakko, who repesents Sokoto North Senatorial District also lashed at all those abusing and disparaging President Muhammadu Buhari, saying, " anybody doing so is either a fool, from a less prominent house or indisciplined, disrespectful family ."

The Chairman of the Campaign Council, Alhaji Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi and the state party chairman, Alhaji Isa Sadiq Achida, expressed optimism that, APC would win the forthcoming general elections, at all levels, with a landslide victory .
The Gubernatorial Candidate, Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto and his running mate, Alhaji Faruku Malami Yabo , promised to strive to emulate Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko , when eventually elected .

The duo happily recalled that, the tenure of Senator Wamakko as a Governor of the state between 2007 and 2015, had remained unsurpassed, saying, " we will continue from where he stopped in 2015, In sha Allahu. "
