Politics / Breaking! 2,000 PDP Members Dump Party, Defect To APC In Borno by Buterflyle0: 9:53pm On Jan 07, 2019
- Some members of the PDP defected to the APC in Katsina state

- The defectors said they joined the APC on their own accord

- The new APC members praised President Muhammadu Buhari for his good work

No fewer than 2,800 members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Madobi, Daura in Katsina State have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The News Agency of Nigeria, (NAN) reports that the defectors were received into the APC fold in Madobi village on Monday by the Daura Local Government party Chairman, Alhaji Sani Altine-Daura.

The chairman assured the new members of equal treatment and promised to carry everybody along in the party activities, devoid of any other considerations.

Malam Iliyasu Shehu, former Chairman of the local government, who spoke on behalf of the defectors, said that they took the decision in order to add value to electoral process as general elections got nearer.

He said that they joined the party unconditionally adding that the ruling party under President Muhammadu Buhari had performed excellently especially in the provision of infrastructural facilities.

Shehu said that Daura local council had provided portable water and renovated many schools in the electoral ward, noting that the resolve to join APC was for progress and development of communities.

He assured that the defectors would be committed and dedicated to the manifestos of the APC and their loyalty to the party was unwavering.

In his remarks, Daura Council Chairman, Alhaji Abba Mato, assured the new party members of unwavering attention of the council, especially in the provision of more welfare services to the area.

The event was attended by party stalwarts, local government officials and other stakeholders.

Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is worried over the defection of its former Niger state chairman, Abdulrahman Enagi, barely a month to the general elections.

NAN reports that Enagi defected along with two former governorship aspirants, Ahmed Baka and Engineer Hanafi Sudan, and others to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Legit.ng gathers that PDP asked the party supporters to remain focused “and refuse to be distracted by the action of a few people”.

Politics / SHOCKER! PDP Big Wigs Defect To APC After Meeting With Buhari by Buterflyle0: 9:45pm On Jan 07, 2019
Posted on January 7, 2019 by Cosmos Oladayo

Mohammed Goni, A former governor of the old Borno state, has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party, to the ruling All Progressives Congress.

His defection was announced by former Senate leader, Ali Ndume, who led a delegation from the north east to meet with President Muhammadu Buhari.

Speaking briefly with State House correspondents after the meeting, Mr Goni said he decided to move to the APC because of the respect he has for Mr Buhari and what he has done to return relative peace to the north east region. “I know the president very well, I was the council secretary when he was governor of north east. He is a performer,” he said.

Mr Goni was also in the United Nigeria Peoples Party, (UNPP), and was the party’s vice presidential candidate with former Anambra governor, Jim Nwobodo. Mr Goni was the governorship candidate of PDP in Borno during the 2011 election.

A former senator and former speaker of old Gongola state, and a chieftain of the PDP from Adamawa state, Paul Wampana, also announced his defection to the APC. Mr Wampana was a national vice chairman, north east of the PDP

[s]my brother, dont forget they have been sending him this bill long ago o. Dont trust these leaders. I know Buhari would have signed it but for those working closely with him..

Nothing is bad here. The budget has been approved for only card readers to be used. That is main issue with the bill. NA want only card readers to be used and a huge budget was approved for this purpose. Now, Buhari is saying that incident forms can be used.

Incident forms have been used in the previous election to rig election. It was GEJ who started a good reform to put an end to this act. Now, they discovered that combination of form and card readers will still give room to unfavourable advantage. They now want to completely put an end to it.

U see, Buhari can sign this if he want to but signing it will reduce his chances of winning the election. That is the truth. A leader shouldnt be selfish. If GEJ was selfish, he would av continued the pdp style since 1999 and he would have won very well thru massive rigging[/s].

Stop typing trash. PDP and GEJ fought against the use of card readers in 2015.

It was Jega with Falana who dragged the matter to the courts and the courts ruled in favour of Inec.

Even PDP initially did not want card readers to be used in 2015. Get your facts right

Those who have been well known to rig all manner of elections has been PDP which is why now that card readers are in use, they have been losing elections as if they are cursed.

[s]Tinubu reintroduced tribal politics to the center by merging a clearky regional party (ACN - SW) with another tribal party, Buhari's CP.C to create a caricature of a national party, thereby pushing out a true national party that doesn't do regional politicking to other regions.

Opportunists like Okorocha and Kalu joined the bandwagon, the first desperate to become a VP, the other hoping to be protected from prosecution. As for Amaechi, another Judas, he's been consumed by vengeance he's ready to sell his mother to prove a point to a former President.

What are the consequences today? The nation is so divided along ethnic and regional lines it has become the in-thing.

1. A proudly nepotistic president who has no real project to his name but is confident of a second term becos of the revived culture of sentimental voting (no thanks to Tinubu and mr. arrogant Fashola and tribal politicking).

2. The president appoints spokeswomen from the same regions he despises (Onochie, Keyamo, abah, Amaechi) to do divide and rule. Unlike normal practice around the world, these spokespersons are anything but presidential. Uncouth, unrefined, mid-slinging, gutter-mouthed, unpricipled and full of hate for SE and SS. Their minions are on NL like Corrinthians, madridguy and buterflyle0. Yet the so-called buhari says nothing. Silence is consent. What a president! I don't regard him.

3. Muric has become so loud that they dictate policy decisions to the impostor of a leader.

U win o my brother. I wish u all the best. I am not getting paid by any party. So it will be stupid of me wasting my time to support any. I would av accepted ur claim if PMB didnt say the law can be signed and used in other elections after 2019. Lol

Any ways, more Nigerians will leave the country. It is well. Bros, Im not aruging with u. U have won the argument okay.

I am not being paid either but we need to always say the truth no matter what.the reason why PMB said the electoral law (when corrected as he has pointed out and signed by him) will be used in 2019 is because its too short a time to start making changes to a process that has ready gone far using the electoral act of 2010.
Politics / Re: 40 Presidential Candidates Back Buhari On Unsigned Electoral Law by Buterflyle0: 7:39am On Dec 10, 2018

see bro. Before God and man, i just pity all of us. Any ways, like it has always been, las las, Nigerians go dey run dey go another country. Bros, the law that was made in 2015 was mainly done to improve our electoral system. It really improved the past system but there were loopholes. Such loopholes were capitalized by APC due to the nature of northern Nigeria. Even PDP capitalized on the same loopholes.

But should we continue like that? No! See, Buhari will rule and go even if he wins the next election. He will be paid for life as an ex president. The issue is u and I who not in power. Nigeria is for all of us and not for the ruling class alone.

If the past leaders made mistake, does it mean that the present will continue? They have discovered the loopholes such as 75% of the places where Buhari won the states during the last election were the states with card reader problem. That made the people to manipulate the result.

kids were brought in to tomb print. Tomb print were giving to candidates. That is what the current law wants to fix. Law is meant to be fixed. Ur president is not saying the bill is not good. At least he is candid enough to accept that the bill is good. However he is saying it is close to 2019 election. He claimed that we can pass it into law for next election. Did u hear him? he said we can use it during other elections aside 2019.

Now, this was the tactics. The tactics was to delay the bill up until now. The national assembly has been sending this bill for months and the final correction was sent long ago but he kept delaying it to use this excuse to avoid signing it into law.

I want u to understand that law makers will normally deliberate and study bill before coming up with a formed bill. It takes time to put this bill into document and avoid mistakes and loopholes.

If ur president ever loved this country, he should have worked harder to improve our electoral law. GEJ improved on what we had before. If GEJ didnt improve on what we had before, he could have won the election thru rigging.

I am totally ashamed of Buhari. This shows he doesnt love the country at all. Any ways, no wahala, i just hope we all have enough to eat in this country. As for me, I will surely leave Nigeria for people like u to continue to enjoy it.

It is a shame how we all have chosen to love politicians above our own country. Just like the issue of restructuring. Politicians keep playing politics with an issue that can help better the country. And sadly, the hungry masses cheer them.

Abeg take your shame and park it in your garage.

The so called electoral act being pushed by NASS is itself faulty which is why pmb refused to sign it.

Why does PDP no longer trust the same electoral laws they have been using since 2010?

If those laws have loopholes, then PDP should also exploit those loopholes as you claim APC did in 2015.

We cannot begin an electoral process with a different set of laws and then end it with another. The legal implications are too much.

Any loser would argue in court based on the law that favours them. There will be no unifying electoral act to back up any case.

Party A will argue from 2010 electoral act because it favours them and then Party B will use 2018 electoral act because it favours them

This is a recipee for disaster and PDP knows this but still want to mess everything up because they already know they will not win

Nigerians in general are a hopeless and useless lot. It's true that a nation deserves the kind of leaders it gets. As you lot in that stupid country keep supporting the evil party called APC, because of whatever short term benefits you think you are enjoying, do not cry for help from the international community. Be prepared to boast to your children and grandchildren about the part u played in supporting the destruction that will befall them. Do not forget that Biya, Mugabe, Hitler,..all stared out as democratically elected leaders and turned dictators later. The APC is hell bent on turning Nigeria into a one party dictatorship and you all are there singing and clapping for them. Continue. Should Buhari win a second term you lot are doomed.
Continue sharpening the knife that will be used to slit your throats. Retards.

Let us continue to play politics with our future. Tomor we would complain about the situation of things and how nothing works. What I have read above are close friends of those in power supporting decisions that would subvert the upcoming polls and achieve predetermined ends

Let us not forget that INEC had been approved funds for the use of electronic voting equipment by NASS. This was already ore planned and the technology for this is everywhere.

We simply want to continue the nightmare of rigging, killing and ballot snatching. May those that supports this be victims of those violence or their loved ones

PDP brought the electoral laws used in 2015.

A PDP dominated NASS and a PDP president signed it into law and it was successfully used in 2015 to conduct an election they lost.

The PDP president then, that Otuoke shepe brand ambassador said the election was free and fair so what nonsense are you saying ?
