https://www.theheraldng.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/beer-parlour.jpg The Kano State Government has imprisoned 50 married men and 5 women for 4 months for taking alcoholic beverages during the Ramadan month. Kano State Hisba Board Director-General, Alhaji Abba Sufi, said the convicts were arrested last week following raids on their hideouts. “All the 55 persons were sentenced to four months imprisonment without option of fine in order to serve as deterrent to others who might contemplate doing same. “From those arrested, 50 of them are married men while the remaining five are women. “Even if we are not in the month of Ramadan, nobody should take alcohol because the state is implementing Sharia law,” Sufi said. www.theheraldng.com/55-married-men-women-jailed-kano-drinking-booze-ramadan/?wt=3 |
Lol the PDP posters have bounced back even in the absence of sincere9gerian. Talk about a good team being better than a star player. |
HenryThegreat1: I will praise gudluck if he can impeach any pdp gov nt all dis innocence northerner dat have no moni. Somebody ws delta gov 4 ova 7 yrs all we see is jobless everiwia. You might have to improve on the way you write if you want to get a job. |
https://dvsl3w2q45hb8.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Front1.gif The co-mastermind of the April 14 Nyanya Bus terminal bombing of the Boko Haram sect which claimed the lives of over 75 persons and caused extensive damages to property while scores were injured, Aminu Ogwuche, was on Tuesday extradited from Sudan to Nigeria. The fugitive Boko Haram member, who fled to Sudan, immediately after the incident was brought to the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airpot, Abuja at about 3p.m. aboard a chartered flight. At the airport to take custody of the fugitive Boko Haram member, was a team led by the Director of Defence Information, Major General Chris Olukolade, Coordinator of the National Information Center, Mike Omeri, Force Public Relations officer, ACP Frank Mba and Deputy Director, Department of State Services (DSS), Marilyn Ogar. It will be recalled that Ogwuche, son of a retired Colonel of the Nigerian Army, who schooled in Sudan, was declared wanted by the Federal Government on May 15, shortly after the DSS paraded some suspects in the connection with the Nyanya bombing incident. Also declared wanted was Abubakar Tsiga, the alleged chief mastermind of the bombing. www.vanguardngr.com/2014/07/nyanya-bombing-aminu-ogwuche-co-mastermind-extradited-nigeria/ |
Akshow: Nice job arewaqueen but u forgot the number one misconception southerners are quick to use against northerners. "The north (and by the north they mean Hausas) have ruled for forty years".The OP herself said somewhere that she is ''Hausa-Fulani'', so what do you expect from Southerners? The so called misconception is the work of the north for reasons best known to them |
arewaqueen: I disagree with the Illiteracy part because there is a difference between illiteracy and education. A literate is someone who can read and write while an educated person is something who has gone up to the tertiary level. If they said educated i would agree but illiteracy i dont.Maybe you didn't read the articles because this one is from the world bank http://en.starafrica.com/news/world-bank-report-says-poverty-remains-high-in-nigeria.html as for your HIV jibe, a certian northern state has always topped the chart for the prevalence rate in Nigeria. Besides, there are far more deadly diseases than HIV and they can be found in the north. |
arewaqueen: YOUR PROOF FROM NEUTRAL BODIES AND CONSENSUS FIGURE PLEASE? I WANT AN ANSWER BACKED WITH EVIDENCEIlliteracy http://www.thenigerianvoice.com/mobile/53569/1/northern-nigeria-has-world-highest-illiterate-worl.html Poverty www.punchng.com/editorial/tackling-extreme-poverty-in-the-north/ http://en.starafrica.com/news/world-bank-report-says-poverty-remains-high-in-nigeria.html Diseases http://www.voanews.com/a/northern-nigeria-project-aims-to-eliminate-neglected-diseases-114160829/161636.html Extremism, Violence and Religious intolerance are not even up for discussion and they aren't limited to boko haram, those vices are as old as the north itself. |
This thread is dead on arrival, there is no ''misconception'' about the north. The north has one of the highest illiteracy levels in the world -- fact! The north has one of the highest poverty rates in the world -- fact! The north is home to some of the worst diseases in Nigeria -- fact! The north has serious long standing problems with extremism, religious intolerance and violence -- fact! What misconception is there to clear again? |
murtalaa: It only takes a few educated people who know how to run a region to turn the fortunes of the North around. With good administrative skills, all the almajiris and illiterates you mentioned could be made productive through job creation and a new breed of highly skilled and educated people could be harvested if carefully planned. That is true. If the OP had pointed that out the first time she made the Japan comparison, I wouldn't have bothered. |
arewaqueen: No yours wasn't realistic it was simply a comment backed by sentiments more like a bastardization If a desert like Dubai then nothing is impossible with hard work and dedication.Let us see who is being realistic or sentimental here. Is the majority of northen population not illiterate? Are there no almajiris in the north? Are there no religious extremists in the north? |
arewaqueen: I appreciate if you dont bring your ethnic bigotry and negativity here. This place is not for you. Look for a page to spread your bigotry and myopic view on whatever tribe you want.My contribution is realistic, it doesn't have to be positive. Never in your life mention Japan and Northern Nigeria in the same sentence again. |
arewaqueen: An average northerner doesnt mind doing all the above you mentioned but what you should understand is the so called people representing the people (both sides of the country) only think of themselves. Most politicians are just selfish. As for me I want the resource control as it is better for us in the North. It will make us look inwards after all the best and richest nations aren;t oil rich. If Japan can be an economic power, then the north collectively as Nigeria can do itJapan is not littered with illiterates, almajiris and extremists left, right and center. |
aryzgreat: U r back and so wot? U wia never missed! Bigoted tiger scratched face. Hope u av repented? The idiöt has been online with the ID ''Gurnam'' he had to re-incarnate after receiving some pummeling from me and Faun 2 days back, that is what the coward does whenever he is forced to retreat with his tail in between his legs. Ilmuguboy hope you have resurrected your ''Eledan'' ID? You might need it the next time you cross my path. |
mvem: .......D shekau d SSS says he is not alife. Am not supporting any FG but get my point. When i mean rebels have leaders,u suppose to understand what i mean.Rebels are much more open and more ready to negotiate. There leaders can grant interviews, dey fight what dey deem right. They might be rational...my annoyance is comparing liberia/sierra leone war with dis bokoharam...Dnt u know dat terrorism is a new phenomenom in Nigeria and part of Africa as a whole....D country even had to retrain some units in d army in d art of dis new warfare...When d COAS is sayin dis kind of enemy is a new one and new to d security of dis nation do u think he is joking...What i mean is we re dealing with irrational people, dey wont negotiate. If u use our successes in Congo and liberia to compare dis new act of terrorism or insurgency den u re wrong...but certainly you talk stupidely.....Okay u say BH want to negotiate,i wonder what and who will do the negotiation on der side....Der agenda is a Jihad, islamize as much land as possible, how will ur Government negotiate with dose kind of people.Shekau truly might be a leader, but how much is known about him and he still remains mysterious abi.....compare dis to oda rebel group around d world and contrast it with terrorist orgainization....My point is ur bad comparison between two different wars or enemies.....Don't waste your time with him any further. You will only end up repeating yourself over and over again, that was why I stopped replying him. The very obvious facts have been said here, if he wants to remain in ignorance, rhere is nothing you can do unfortunately. |
niceeric: hmmm....tell me something....so terrorists are not insurgents?....they don't terrorise people ? ? ? especially civilians?....I see.....anyways,kindly get a copy of 'cry freetown'-a documentary made about d peace keeping activities of ECOMOG soldiers(made up of 80% Nigerian Soldiers) in Sierra Leone .Maybe you'll then know d kinda power Africa's most powerful army has.I said Rebels don't do hit and run like terrorists, you know who they are and where they are and they are ready to fight you to the end. Peace keeping mission can never be compared to fighting terrorists, in a peace keeping mission, you are at the center trying to prevent fighting and killings by 2 opposing forces, you are most times seen as neutral by both opposing forces and they don't attack you except in rare cases. Get that into your skull and stop laughing like a lunatic. |
Anywhere Amaech goes, he gives a new reason for leaving PDP depending on the place and those in attendance. When he was in Kalabari, it was because of the oil wells ''stolen'' from them. |
Hahaha so they want the clueless Jonathan to liberate the Yorubas in Ilorin and Offa from Fulani slavery? |
koboko69: I dont have time for slow beings.. You lack knowledge and understanding. You need lots of education. What was ECOMOG about? Peace keeping? Whats the difference b/w rebels and insurgents? You just an empty head that thinks he knows something. Are the weapons used by those u trying to differentiate different. Dont they both fight the same guerilla war fare. No time for slow spokes abeg.Yes Ecomog was about peace keeping, what else was it about? Rebels fight conventional civil wars, they don't do hit and run like terrorists. So comparing Nigeria's peace keeping mission in collaboration with other countries to fighting a terrorist group at home is very foolish of you. Why not give us examples of how your military was able to defeat the Niger delta militants right here in Nigeria? The truth is that the Nigerian military has never been as good as you delusional twäts think. |
CoolHunk: A responsible government will not cause a panic situation.Yeah they will rather create a delusional situation where people go on as if all is normal even when it definitely isn't. |
koboko69: The same army and gallant soldiers/officers that were fully in charge of ECOMOG, and liberated many african countries, and played peace keeping roles excellently is the same army that as be bastardized by greedy top military officers and government officials. The Ngerian armed forces is very much capable of handling this animals, but for the politics and self enrichment of greedy allies and incompetent Jonathan, the animals seems to be winning the war. Not until some people decides they have eaten enough from the security budget and Jonathan's desperation for 2015 is sacrificed, BH menace will keep thriving. They played ''peace keeping'' roles not combat roles in those operations, and they were dealing with ''rebels'' not ''insurgents'' or terrorists, they also collaborated with international forces. A lot of differences, now go and do your homework! |
SporaD8: Gradually, history may be repeated but this time on the reverse!7000 northerners have been arrested in Lagos between the time the blast took place and now. As usual they kept quiet over that and focused on the minor arrests happening in other places. www.nairaland.com/1811992/over-7000-northerners-far-been |
PenSniper: You will soon discover to your regret that those who refuse to learn when they may, learn the hard way. Let the fools continue to run their mouths like they did in the north of '66 only to start runing like frighetened dogs with their tails between their legs. It suits us just fine. You are not the north, you are a Yoruba coward. No one takes you fool seriously. |
They will still surrender the weapons to boko haram as usual. Hopeless! |
Cleverly is not so clever after all. Simple hiding of identity, he cannot pull off. |
I thought they said it wasn't a blast? Even when Shekau took time off from his busy schedule to claim responsiblility, some still denied it. Fashola is only doing this because of that video released 2 days ago. A responsible government will not hide such security breaches from the people who need to be more vigilant and pro-active. |
ifeelgood: I'm beginning to be affraid that GEJ may become another Abacha, Gadaffi, Taylor and Mugabe put together. GEJ has backslided!!!Not when you are still allowed to post trash like these on the internet and media outlet are still free to publish fabricated stories like the above, the likes of Fashola, Kwankwaso, Elrufai and Amaechi are still allowed to call him names they wouldn't even call a pauper on the streets. GEJ is an epitome of democracy. |
PenSniper: You and your entire generation of polutants are sick in the head. Your unjustified hatred for the Yoruba will eventually prove your undoing in Nigeria. You are courting disaster for yourselves. Just watch it.Empty threats from a genetic coward and hypocrite. |
FFK is a Yoruba man. That says it all really. Hypocrisy is their way of life |
Virtually all the things Obasanjo was playing lip service to are being made to look as easy as ABC under Dr. Jonathan's administration. From privatisation of the power sector, to railways, to Nigerian made automobiles to agriculture.... just name them! |
We will appreciate this man and his works when he leaves power in 2019. Mark my words! |
Smartsyn: READ what you wrote and tell me if it make sense to you.LMAO! |
Why not start by telling us what preventive measures you know about. To the best of my knowledge, the virus has no vaccine. Unless you want us to close our borders to entry from other west African countries. |
