Thankful
I had plan A,B and C in my search for bed space before arriving UAE. I booked my flight to arrive UAE on a friday so that whoever will be coming to pick me up or assist me will likely be on his off day. Then plan D popped out. NONNYG was my plan D. And luckily for me he was available on that day. I went for plan D first and it clicked one time. Arrived UAE 3am on 16th feb., waited till day break (Needed to sleep but free WiFi for airport no allow me) NONNYG came with a Nol card for me and off to satwa we go.
I got my bed space, we ate swallow ( of which NONNYG never chop for months, na basmati rice and curry stew e dey chop since grin ) I was assisted in getting a sim and was ready to roll.
My room mates where really nice and loaded with helpful tips, though my biggest motivation was myself. In less than one week I was doing part time job and job hunting too.
Got two offers same day on my 25 days of arrival. Later another two opportunities came up. I have to settle with the one I felt comfortable with. Just like they say never underestimate walk in/open day interview, you can be chosen no matter how large the Crowd is. I did travel from Dubai to Abu Dhabi to attend and it paid off.
I enjoyed my full 3 months in Dubai. From day one I felt at home cuz I prepared for it.
Part time work on visit visa though risky, took me to places and gave me my UAE experience cool
Made some money(thanks to the part time) and spent some money for my self.
Thanks to NONNYG for your kind gestures. Ur Nol card is in Abu Dhabi inside my wallet cheesy

Thanks to this forum and to those who keep providing helping tips.
I must say nothing is wrong with the country like some people say. Get the orientation before making a move to come over. People make a country look bad and not the government.

If you fall for a scam don't blame the country.
If your agent deceived you don't blame the country.
If your employer treats you bad don't blame the country.
If you come without proper planning don't blame the country.
If you come without sufficient fund don't blame the country.
If you can't find job after trekking under the sun don't blame the country.
If there is any other problem not mentioned here don't blame the country.

All can be avoided or has a legal solution.

If I budget 800aed *.3 months = 2400aed For accommodation, how much can I budget for food, transport and other miscellaneous spending? I'll bring rice, egusi, noodles etc. Am I allowed to carry ayoola poundo? I don't eat eba and I'm scared since ayoola is white, they'll think it's cocaine

You can carry your ayoola poundo, pack enough egusi, ogbono, rice, stockfish. All dried.
Hold enough cash for other expenses, no limit just use head to know the reasonable amount you will probably be coming with.

Btw what was written at the bottom of your Visa?
If it was written this copy is not a valid copy or something similar then you have to take the copy to UAE embassy Abuja with your int'l passport for the issuance of a valid copy.
As I heard currently, any Abu Dhabi issued Visa will be taken to the UAE embassy Abuja for the issuance of Valid copy(that is if not a valid copy is written on it)
The embassy will confirm it and issue a valid copy.
Failure to do this you won't be allowed to travel at the airport.

Caution: All these people typing my agent this....my agent that... Let me shock you. Some of them are street guys here in UAE. I discovered an employment offer letter that was edited after a neighbour borrowed my laptop(Even the guys are learners cuz the shitty work can be noticed when observed carefully). Some of them don't have full time work but engage in part time work. Some have even overstayed and have no plan of coming back to Nigeria. I just pity the victim, how I wish I know how to contact him and inform him. Who knows how much he has paid or will still pay.
I know most people are afraid of not getting job with visit visa, but you have to be more afraid of being scammed with employment visa.
Be dashing them millions inugo?
When you are scammed you will run down here to tell us you paid 1million wakanda Dollars for employment visa. But before you paid you did not come down here to seek advice first.

Anyway am doing fine in Dubai for those asking.

Is the pcc a wait and get thing, if done in Lagos?? I was told the police station in ibadan issue the certificate only on Thursdays. . .

I don't know anything about Ibadan, but I was told too it is the largest city in Africa grin

How about assisting anyone get the PCC in Lagos and waybill to thier location ?

I think this should be cheaper and faster....

Not possible, PCC involves taking your biometrics mainly your fingerprints, you will also submit one passport photograph and photocopy of your international passport data page. Because of the fingerprints, you must be present at the CID to do it yourself.

Thanks bro. God bless. . . I intend sending my pcc to someone in abj for the authentication, but he was saying I'll have to authenticate the two pages of pcc @ 20k each in uae embassy and 1500 each in mofa plus 6k for run around. . Maybe I should just travel down myself... Can get everything done on Friday? I'd want to board a night bus to Abuja on Thursday from ibadan
I don't think you can make it >> All things being equal. All protocol observed MOFA will give you 3pm for collection. On normal days UAE embassy closes by 4pm. On Fridays they close early I suppose. Better travel before Thursday

I just found this thread.i got a security job in dubai for 2200aed and the employment letter was sent to me on jan 9 which i signed, since then ive been expecting the guy/vompany to process visa for me ,but i didnt see anything until i started to pressure him this week and today he said i should go and collect police character report and i'm supposed to resume on feb 15 .pls how did you guys did yours and how much were you able to do it at mofa and uae embassy ? im in ibadan....gurus in the house pls
Some got PCC between 5000 and 7500 in Lagos, Osun resident got it for 15k, Abia 20k.
So add the cost of transport to Lagos to and fro and compare it to Ibadan price. If you will have enough change left or it is urgent then go to Lagos. No matter which state you get it from, it must carry the stamp CID Lagos

Please, what's the total cost for pcc authentication in Abuja? Uae and mofa, is it true that the pcc is seen as two documents and will have to authenticate each page? Cafisis
It will cost you 600 naira at MOFA(300 per document) Because the PCC and the fingerprint document will all be authenticated in MOFA.
Note: Go early in MOFA best time between 8 am and 9 am to pay normal fees. If you go late you may pay more. Go with one passport photograph and a photocopy of your PCC. Hold small change 100 naira for file.
UAE embassy 18k. (Only the PCC is attested in UAE embassy, the finger print page is not needed in UAE embassy) The lady (travel agency)downstairs in UAE embassy behind the receptionist will help you with the online payment for UAE embassy fees. She charges 1k for the service.

I just attested my PCC now in UAE embassy. Just walked in with my payment details and within 5 mins I was out. The attestation is now done immediately no more come tomorrow.
The Arab man asked me for work? I said yes when I get to UAE I look for work that we received information that from 4th Feb it will be needed. He said yes Feb. And the seal was placed immediately on my PCC signed, stamped and given back to me sharp sharp.
UAE here I come. Success me

When I was going out, One boy was being asked where is your employment letter. And I looked and saw PCC with him.
I shook my head. grin grin

Update on my waka today.
I left MOFA by 3:10pm and zoomed off to UAE embassy to attest my PCC
Our convo:
The 9ja fair guy (Receptionist): What are you here for?
Me: For attestation
Him: May I see the documents?
Me : Hands it over to him
Him: Why do you want to attest PCC that it is not necessary?
Me: I am going to UAE with a visit visa and intend to look for work, then when I find one the PCC will be needed to get my work permit/Visa because I will be travelling to UAE after Feb 4th when the new law will be already in effect.
Him: How will you find work?
Me: I have a friend there he said there are jobs available
Him: Do you have your visa with you?
Me : Yes( hands it over to him)
Him: (He looks at it ) How do you know this visa genuine?
Me : I verified it online it is genuine( His colleague also told him it is genuine visa)
Him: My advice is that you should tell your friend to meet the company to send your employment letter, then I will follow the procedures on the brochure( He shows me the processes on brochure)
That after I complete it I will be issued a work visa direct on my passport no need of print out
Me: But it is not possible for him to get employment letter for me. No work has been found for me. My friend said I should come to UAE first then look for work.
Him: Why I am telling you this is that even if you get work, your employer will still send you back to Nigeria to complete the remaining things (Medicals and Biometrics) and my work visa will be issued in Nigeria. That is what is on now.
But that if I still want to attest my PCC he can go ahead and give me payment details to pay.
Me: Let me attest
Him: Ok, the payment is now online(He hands me over the guidelines to make the payment at MOFA UAE portal and wrote a number to call that the person stays at Secretariat he can help me do it if I want) scan the PCC certificate only and upload
Me: When do you close?
Him: You can't meet up, come back tomorrow after paying.

My Take on this I will go ahead early morning and pay online and submit.
Let me enter UAE first. Something is telling me what was written in the brochure is an alternative for those who have employment letter and they are
making it clear that you can get your medicals done in Nigeria and also receive your work visa stamped on your passport. So that when you enter UAE you just start work straight and also apply for ID

Secondly what the receptionist told me is like going back to what we are running away from.
Which is getting involved with a work you have not seen or know what you are getting yourself into

I rather travel first, find a suitable work am comfortable with, receive my employment letter, if they send me back to Nigeria to complete Medicals and get my Work Visa stamped no problem. At least when I come back to UAE I will enjoy my Job than suffering in a job I will hate.

Note: For those who will be thinking of rushing to do the medicals without employment/invitation letter you are on your own. Medicals is the last thing on your part you will do before you receive your work Visa.
See below for the brochure guidelines

@Ukijioma88

You people in Lagos are damn Lucky, not we at the other side. By the time you will check your transport to and fro to go and do it in Lagos from Abia you will be spending up to 12k or more plus the standard 5k if at all then total 17k. When the man told me 20k non negotiable I knew he has done the calculation and will not accept less from me even when I left he did not call me back. CID itself corrupt and worst.
