Health / Re: Students Invent Award Winning Soap To Tackle Malaria by Caleb7: 2:14pm On Aug 16, 2013
prymesolution: An award-winning innovation by two students in Burkina Faso could help reduce the devastating impact of the life-threatening disease, which is caused by parasites that are spread to humans through the bites of infected mosquitoes.

Moctar Dembele, who is from Burkina Faso, and Gerard Niyondiko, from Burundi, have used locally sourced herbs and natural ingredients to create a soap they say repels mosquitoes, in order to prevent malaria

The Soap called (Fasoap) was awarded the $25,000 Grand prize in the GLobal Social Venture Competition (GSVC) in April. The award itself was launched yo encourage young entrepreneurs transform ideas into businesses that will add value to the society. The soap is made of Shea butter, essential lemongrass oil and other ingredients that are remain a secret.

Like water to a thirsty soul, news like this gladdens ones heart....young men putting on their thinking cap and adding value to the society. Someone once said ..... the easiest way to make wealth is to look for a problem in the society to solve; and the "good" thing is that we have lots of problems in Africa, Malaria is just one of it.....

Our soap will fulfill the desire of the population to be clean and at the same time protect them from malaria, without any additional cost to them

Congratulations Moctar and Gerrard!!

...and like as you said, Shea butter is African product that is good for African color and their bodies except if you want to bleach off your original skin, shea butter may not be able to do that, but if you want to maintain your normal color, use shea butter, because i know how it works.

I am dark in complexion and I like it and so reverted to using vaseline maintain my dark complexion. The best cream I ever used was Skin Balanced lotion between 2003 and 2004 but it is no longer in the market and it is very unfortunate that I cannot find an alternative for it after more than eight years.

Some people are complaining of getting darker if they are using sheabutter cream, note that its for bleaching and if you have been bleaching before started using it,it may not bleach you further, so its advisable if you want to maintain your natural colour or use it along with skin lightif u don't like natural skin,i tink u wll get a good result.

Adverts / Do Not Prefer Bleaching To Natural Skin. by Caleb7: 4:45pm On Aug 01, 2013
Bleaching has much effect on skin especially in Africa weather
Bleaching exposes stretch mark
Bleaching reduces your skin texture
Bleaching exposes your skin stressers
Bleaching makes your skin lighter there by lack ability to combat wounds

But natural skin has advantage over all these things,by tomorrow i will come with a new topic on 'maintaining a natural skin'
your skin protection is our concern:www.sheattraction.com

OMOSOFE F: I love natural method of caring for the skin.

Natural scrubs and facials can be made from your kitchen.

Wrinkles can not stand them.

Avogado mashed in honey can be applied on the face before bed.

This will hydrate the skin and make it beaiutiful.

baby_123:

Satchet is maybe 11/2 or 2 8oz cups. So that is like 9 - 12 8oz glasses. Is the water clean though? Do you use makeup? A lot? I am saying this because my skin changed to oily at some point. Consistently hydrating it and flushing out toxins brought it back under control. Also watch what you eat with oils, and your face cream. You are better off using a tiny bit of shea butter. Very small, than all these "creams"

We sell purified sheabutter in Abuja, to if u need;;;;;;;;;;www.sheattraction.com

kakakibuy: For anyone who's suffered through severe bouts of malaria, this is the nauseating roller coaster the disease typically wreaks on its victims.

But now an award-winning innovation by two students in Burkina Faso could help reduce the devastating impact of the life-threatening disease, which is caused by parasites that are spread to humans through the bites of infected mosquitoes.

Moctar Dembele, who is from Burkina Faso, and Gerard Niyondiko, from Burundi, have used locally sourced herbs and natural ingredients to create a soap they say repels mosquitoes, in order to prevent malaria.

Dubbed "Fasoap," the innovation was awarded the $25,000 Grand Prize in the Global Social Venture Competition (GSVC), in April. Launched by Berkeley MBA students, the GSVC is a global competition designed to help budding entrepreneurs transform their ideas into businesses that will have a positive social impact.

Fasoap is made from shea butter, essential lemongrass oil and other ingredients that are still a secret.
"After using the soap, it leaves on the skin a scent that repels mosquitoes," says Niyondiko, who studies with Dembele at the International Institute for Water and Environmental Engineering in Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso.
