@Alexgray : my own experience was with Nissan Quest..I bought for my mum...instead of buying sinenna then for 2.5, I bought the quest for 1.8...a move I keep regretting..first it's started Entering "SLIP" move..once in that mode..it can't move..then a lot of sensor issues..Geez..My mum did not enjoy that car for one day..it was from one mechanic to another..every day I got calls from her introducing me to new mechanic that will do it once and for all.they scan the car tire..dem chop me dry...after all the stress and resources wasted...we sold it for 800k.. added money and bought a 2002 Sienna....since then..even God Rested..cos dem turn fixing of car to prayer point.. grin cheesy

I think people should be made to understand the business decisions Shell is making. A case in point is one OPL 2007 hitherto operated by Total but was given up by them and Conoil Producing got this asset as a PSC block and converted to OML 150 after fulfilling contractual obligations.
Even ExxonMobil has divested their 4 shallow offshore assets in Eket area where Seplat seems to have picked up the juiciest of them all.
about today in any case.

What about Agip (NAOC) Onshore Assets...Any update about them?

Explain the dust aspect of what I said.
secondly you mentioned hitting quota of 4MBopd in 2010 or even in 2023.. what ever year..are you aware there is the OPEC that regulates oil production by giving member countries quota? Do you think the international Oil market is a free market?? Do you think it's only Nigeria that produces oil? If Saudi Aramco opens their wells to the world..you think you can sell?

No need bro..Respectfully..my only advice is that you should be very sure of whatever you post..Eg NUIMS ( then NAPIMS) were not merged in any form either Pre or post PIA era..I could go on & on...but make I alight here..

Essentially selling off the 55/60% stake held on behalf of nnpc by napims(now nuprc).it never worked because nnpc/napims was never on time or diligent with its cash call obligations. the proportion of ownership in a JV comes with commensurate investment and operational obligations. Something that was never developed beyond paper/mouth.
This was detrimental to the devt of fields/production and also a window for dispute with IOCs. Made Nigerian energy industry not as attractive as it should be.

So Tinubu is telling them to sell off their stakes (very attractive to buyers the world over) who would happily take up the requisite obligations and focus on regulation. At the same time, nnpc ltd is now longer a policy maker (like when napims was under it). Therefore, proper business decisions will be made across the board. Well ideally.

Good thing is that you actually get to invest in producing assets and other prospective ones and thereby increase production. There's also gonna be a few billion usd (the estimated 17.4 in this case) realized from the sale of the JV stakes which will be put to other use. Esp in this post subsidy environment.

So this is fantastic. That 4 million / day was supposed to be accomplished by 2010. Nigeria needs to hit the hydrocarbons market with max production at any given time. Before the window for exceptional profits closes. As we get more African producers on board and anti-oil propaganda picks up in the West.

Guy...u just de yarn dust!
