RomanceRe: What Do I Do In This Situation by callthefred: 1:25pm On Aug 29, 2025
Hemanwel:
I have a single mother I am befriending at my workplace. This lady has a personal business she's running. Recently, she got a business proposal from one of the companies she sells their product. The business proposal has the capability of giving her a breakthrough in the sales business, because if her turnover is seen to be impressive, the company will make her the sole distributor of the product in her locality. However, She's required to commit about N4m into the business according to the proposal.

Now, the challenge is that, she ain't got the dough; and she's been singing it to my hearing cos she knows I have the money. How did she know I have the money? I did a transaction a certain night; I then mistakenly sent the debit alert to her as a proof of payment for the transaction before editing the balance.

I do not plan to marry this lady, neither do I plan to be with her for long. I am only using her to cure konji until I finally get the girl I want to settle with. Besides, I have other plans for the money she saw in my account. Now, how do I convince her that she's NEVER in my plans with respect to that money she saw? This is a lady who thinks because she's single and I am also single, and that we are 'chopping' each other, it automatically means she's my woman. In fact, she'd once asked me about my plans of wife-ing her.
Although for a man who doesn't his own kid it may be hard, but having kids is not a barrier, look at her character and personality and insist on a partnership with you having majority shares of the company and having someone you will employ to be on ground. Every business need experience and finance, she has one and doesn't have the other. So look closely and make it work.

The guy is a thief. You're dating an older woman and accepting her gifts and all and you've always known that all she would want was to get marriage as compensation. She should sue the bastard. I'm a man and won't support this lazy bum collecting money from a woman in her desperate situation only to turn back on her. If we can praise Emmanuel for suing Jennifer and getting 450k judgement. This idiot should have his day in court.

PoliticsRe: Former PDP Chairman, Many Other Dump Party For ADC In Lagos by callthefred: 7:12am On Aug 24, 2025
AMINDA:
They said they are not bothered because they won buy-election but yet, they have branded Aregbesola a betrayer. Tinubu lost Lagos in the presidential election but Lagosians were still conscious enough to vote Sanwo-olu in the gubernatorial (after Aregbe was begged to intervene in Alimosho). This was the case in several other APC states across the North and South with incumbent APC governors. Who says 2027 will be any different?
Talking rubbish with confidence.

ADC cannot dislodge APC because they are just same as APC having all been tested before. El Rufai was the reason Tinubu had a terrible time in last election in NC, now ADC will carry that baggage. Even in Adamawa they don't trust Atiku who as VP for 8 years had no impact, just same as Osinbajo for 8 years couldn't bring any single benefit to his town but we saw the useless proof collect 900m in allowances in 2 months. Politics is local. Abi na David Mark who as SP didn't do anything for Benue minorities? Aregbesola who left over 40 months salary unpaid?

For ADC to win, they need to come up with responsible politicians not the same old recycled thieves.

The writer is either not well informed or just one of those clueless like Peter Obi, first, to develop all those deep water reserves would cost over $20b additionally and then there's also the OPEC daily limit to how much oil we can sell..so the article is clearly nonsense and shows the level of illiteracy of the writer and bang wagon of followers.

Idiots will call Wike names when the constitution of a party is very clear..some will not bother to read but quick to crucify Wike. It's not like Wike and Tinubu are smart it's just that all opposition combined are dumb and stupid.

How can you have a convention without the NEC approval yet you're planning for election. That convention will only produce people who would be sacked by courts and candidates will loose their tickets as a result. I'm sure common sense will prevail.

I go to Abia very well and yes I can see changes. However, I need you to Google how Otti gave contract to his friend a lawyer for a bogus consultancy job, you need to also see pictures of smart schools he claimed to build for 7b. This isn't hatred but about a pattern.

I'm so happy with this article. I mean there's no sentiments or emotions which is what majority of Nigerians lack. We are bunch of educated illiterates.

Hatred is just the driving force and nothing else. Those who claim they are supporting a candidate will pretend or refuse to analyze the evils their candidates have done in the past and when the candidate gets into power again they are surprised.

It foolish to think any human being can change Nigeria, what we need is a law and system that makes it hard for wrong candidates to emerge.

Funny enough none of the major candidates are focusing on such laws but instead everyone thinking they can become an hero. It's a working system that makes the govt functional and we don't have that.

The top 4 most marketable politicians from the south east without any EFCC case, who can withstand pressure and maintain their stance without compromising their region or brother for political favour, and have contributed positively to the region are:
1. Mr. Peter Gregory Obi
2. Dr. Alex Chioma Otti
3. Sen. Enyinnaya Abaribe
4. Dr. Chris Ngige
Other politicians from the south east are driven by financial gain.
Otti with those smart school nonsense and media noise for building 10km of roads? Abi Obi with his known bigotry and lies? Abaribe couldn't even hide his own bigotry just like Buhari. Ngige the uncut and arrogant? Your list is nonsense.

givedemwotowoto:
We’ll judge Peter Obi based on the resources available to him and how he managed them.

Peter did an exceptional job as governor of Anambra, growing the state's GDP by about 40% in 2 years (between 2009 and 2011), at a time when the average growth of Nigeria's GDP was about 7% annually.

Agric sector in Anambra grew by 30%, and the Service sector grew by 66% (According to NBS and National Planning Commission Data). At this rate, Anambra was growing faster than some African and Caribbean countries according to Ambassador Bashir Yuguda, the supervising minister of National Planning in 2014, who later became Minister of State for Finance during Buhari's government.

On road construction, Peter Obi constructed and rehabilitated over 900km of roads, creating at the time, one of the best rural road networks in Nigeria. He also constructed 28 bridges in Anambra which opened up many communities and economic activity across the state, one of the longest of them built on the Ozubulu-Atani road.

When PO left office, he left hundreds of billions of naira (in today's value) in the state treasury, something rare among Nigerian governors.

Peter Obi’s legacy in Anambra can be summarized in 3 words: Prudence, Prosperity, and Integrity, and those are the exact qualities of the President that Nigeria urgently needs now.

We always cherish an opportunity to showcase Peter Obi's achievements whenever paid actors and Amaechi laptop beneficiaries attempt to gaslight and malign cheesy

The greatest country on earth.

How I wished we had Biafra, we will sacrifice everything possible to replicate America and all the great things they do. The focus would have been on acquiring indigenous technology, zero tolerance to leadership corruption and marginalization of any part of Biafra in order to make all Biafrans feel loved and cherished to bring out the best in them. When someone knows that his or her country truly care for him and ready to do anything for him to live a fulfilled life, he or she will be ready to sacrifice his life and all to make the country proud at all times. You don't expect patriotism from someone you despise and oppress at every given opportunity.

Biafra would have been the pride of the black race cry
Everything you said was making sense until you said zero tolerance for corruption in leadership. You're forgetting that leaders are not from another planet but also fellow citizens. Biafrans that worship money like anything else cannot have incorruptible leadership.

I'm not an APC fan and I don't believe in Tinubu's politics. However, I like bold men and men of vision. Personally, I believe Obi is too desperate and doing too much like Buhari. Emotional people always mess up with power. Crazy and bold ones always achieve more. Many of you think Yar'adua did well but no he was a failure as much as Buhari if you really understand governance. Obasanjo was one of our best, Tinubu cannot be rated yet because he's still not done yet but his vision and determination I believe makes him better than others.

I'll choose a corrupt capitalist like Tinubu over a saint socialist like Peter Obi anytime anyday.

Amaggedon:
You are the most stupid one if you think Tinubu won , ever since he was sworn in , he has allocated more resources, and man power to fight PO than he has put into deliverying good governance. PDP with a more wider polictical structure said LP was winning till INEC decided not to upload the result from polling unit for only presidential election but dey did for house of assembly. Tinubu performed so poorly in lagos that they had to use tippes to rigg for him to get 25%, wike had to threaten INEC official in River state change results were he could for tinubu, the table might not be completely correct but its very close tinubu never won. I swear you know he never won.
For argument sakes, let's agree Tinubu didn't win. Ask yourself, why didn't Peter Obi ask the court to declare him winner. In Osun and Ekiti states when Aregbesola and Fayemi won back then, they clearly told the court they won and should be declared. They never said their opponents were unqualified.

If Peter Obi and his lawyers were sure he won, he would have presented court with original documents and witnesses, and not to tell the court to cancel the election and declare Tinubu not qualified as a result of Chicago drug case or Shetimma double nominations. Court can only judge based on what you file in your cases.

I know two of Obi's top lawyers, we were eating together during the Adeleke tribunal as we were on the same team.

Instead of emotions try to learn and be rational.

flexyrule:
It offers loans of up to N10 million, capped at 33.3% of a beneficiary’s gross annual salary.

For a lecturer earning 400,000 monthly

400,000 X 12 = N4,800,000

33.33% of N4,800,000 = N1,599,840.00

A lecturer earning 400k monthly is eligible for N1,599,840 ONLY

Can someone help me verify this calculation?
You're wrong Sir. What you calculated here is what a person can get on a year. Remember the loan is for 5 years repayment so you'll need to multiply that sum by 5.

This is absolute BS! Nigeria needs sweeping reforms like making legislative services to be a part-time role, shutting down of the useless legislative houses (preferably the senate) to cut the cost of governance and fortifying the EFCC to punish politicians for not keeping to their campaign promises.

Until then, Tinubu is just a jester and another time waster like the man before him. Nigeria cannot keep taking 2 steps forward and 6 steps backwards: we have been doing that since 1960.
And you think a democratically elected President can do that? I guess since it's not an Obi initiatives it cannot make sense.

And Obidients actually believe that table?? Because that would clearly show how stupid they can be. In an election where you have this much and you couldn't submit figures to the PEPT but rather just asking the tribunal to disqualify the winner. Self delusion is worse than madness

PoliticsRe: A Historical Reflection On Yoruba - Igbo Tensions by callthefred: 11:12am On Aug 07, 2025
Osnuf34:
Lest We Forget: A Historical Reflection on Yoruba-Igbo Tensions

Many people today speak of betrayal and mistrust between the Yoruba and Igbo, but few understand the deeper context or the actual conversations that took place among the leaders of both ethnic groups. I had the rare privilege though just a young observer who had learned “how to wash his hands” of sitting in on some of these meetings between Yoruba and Igbo elders.

One such memorable gathering took place in Owerri around 1989. There, I listened in awe as Uncle Bola Ige and other Yoruba leaders addressed claims made by some prominent Igbo figures, including Chief Mbakwe and R.B. Okafor. The accusation? That Chief Obafemi Awolowo had promised to support the Igbo in seceding from Nigeria, and then betrayed them by not following through.

Bola Ige responded with clarity and fire. Turning to Mbakwe, he asked directly:
"You were present at the meeting between Awolowo and Ojukwu, as I was. Did Awo ever make that promise?"
He then turned to two other Yoruba and two Igbo leaders who were also present at that historical meeting.
"I have the transcripts," he warned. None of the Igbo elders refuted him.

Awolowo, according to Ige, had never promised to follow the East into secession. What he did say was:
“If the Igbo are ever driven out of Nigeria, the Yoruba will take it seriously and reassess their own position.”
The room fell quiet. The accusation crumbled in the face of truth. The Igbo leaders did not deny this version of events.

Then came Bola Ige’s thunderous retort:
“Who are you to accuse the Yoruba of betrayal?”
He laid out a powerful chronology:

1. At Independence, Awolowo offered a joint NCNC-AG government Zik as Prime Minister, Awo as Finance Minister. Negotiations were ongoing when suddenly Zik announced a coalition with the NPC instead. The East aligned with the North to crush the West, jailing Awo and his allies.

2. In 1965, the West and East agreed to boycott the election. They reached consensus in the early hours, but by morning, the Igbo broke ranks and voted while the Yoruba held the line.

3. In 1979, post-election negotiations for a Yoruba-Igbo coalition (UPN-NPP) were underway when the NPP suddenly entered a coalition with the North’s NPN without notice.

4. In 1983, the same betrayal occurred. Yet Awolowo still sought unity. He met Zik again in Benin, pleading that only a Yoruba-Igbo alliance could rescue Nigeria. The meeting ended inconclusively, and again the East returned to align with the North.

With visible emotion, Uncle Bola continued:
“We can go on and on. But let me ask you: how many Igbo have been killed in Yoruba towns like Lagos, Ibadan, Akure, or Oshogbo? You thrive in our cities, build your businesses here, and attend our schools yet you call us enemies. Meanwhile, your people are regularly killed in Kaduna, Kano, Bauchi, Zaria, and your shops looted. Yet you count the North as allies. If you choose to be perpetual slaves, we cannot help you.”

The silence that followed was deafening. No one interrupted him. No one challenged the facts. The Yoruba delegation stood and ended the meeting. I can only hope Chief C.O. Adebayo’s memoirs will someday detail that historic exchange further.

Key Takeaways:

A. The Yoruba have long extended a hand across the Niger. The Igbo, for decades, declined to take it until recently.

B. Many Igbo leaders of the 1970s to 1990s actively propagated the myth that Awolowo betrayed them, using it to solidify internal unity and distract from internal failures. The one common rallying point was hatred for the Yoruba.

C. Time is a great healer. Many Igbo reading this today may be learning, for the first time, that their leaders knew Awolowo never betrayed Ojukwu or the East during the Civil War.

A Call to Our Generation:

Even if our parents quarreled, should we, their children, inherit their grudges? Must we perpetuate old divisions in a Nigeria struggling for unity and growth?

It is time.
Time for a genuine handshake across the Niger.
Time to heal, to build, and to move forward together.
