I think what you should do since you've forgotten ur password is to FLASH any ROM aside from MIUI ROMs, by so doing ur password won't be required on boot.

I guess you're trying to flash a firmware to ur phone. If that's the case, you need to copy the UNZIPPED file directly to ur Local Disk Folder. This will enable Mi Flash tool to recognize it faster.

While you're doing that, make sure you "CHECK" 'clean all' at the bottom of Mi Flash Tool to avoid stories that touch.

yeah me too, the only time I'd get to try it is as a custom ROM, almost perfect mix between customization and fluidity..

to me all these AOSP ROMs are just d same thing just diff names.

Within 2 weeks I saw myself move from EvolutionX to POSP to Pixel Experience+ and then back to POSP.
And now finally back to EU STABLE ROM.

All these AOSP ROMs don't really offer much (in my opinion, b4 some huys will start attacking me), though they can give you a little edge IF you play games in highest settings.

My personal best was Pixel Experience+, though I see some potentials with the POSP b'cos of the guy maintaining it.

I can't say what d real reason is, but I feel the developers feel more comfortable with OrangeFox for now.

Dirty flashing works but the mistake i did was not installing magisk thereafter, custom recovery was changed to stock recovery too. So I will need to install again to gain root access.

Modified: twrp custom flashed and root done

Just a heads up, for some reasons most developers are encouraging people to use 'OrangeFox' recovery. I think you'll be better off with that.

Hmm... I av had instances where d backup didn't restore. All i had to do was to uninstall & install again (or just clear data & cache), them rectify any folder issues that might av duplicated itself.

My main issue with this scenario is that HE DIDN'T BACKUP the chats from the modded WhatsApp in d first place. IF he did, d chats would have been restored.

The FIRST STEP whenever you are changing all these modded WhatsApp should be to use the BACKUP & RESTORE function exclusive to them & backup ur chats in ur phone (I don't mean the auto backup that happens every night). But from ur explanation, it seems you didn't do this...

Anyway, what I think you should do is to check IF d new WhatsApp you downloaded created another folder apart from the one you were using before, coz this happens most of the times.
Just look at d folders and copy ur backup from d former folder into d newly created folder (make sure to follow the right sub-folder parts as it is in d main former WhatsApp folder).
