A six year old virus that drains bank accounts is thriving on Facebook, reports Nicole Perlroth of the New York Times.

The virus is spread through phishing messages.

When someone has been phished , their account will automatically send messages or links to a large number of their friends.

These messages or links are usually ads telling friends to check out videos or products. Don't click them.

Facebook is aware of the problem but it isn't taking the matter nearly as seriously as it should be, says Eric Feinberg, founder of the advocacy group Fans Against Kounterfeit Enterprise (FAKE).

Feinberg told the NYTimes, “[Facebook isn't] listening...we need oversight on this.”

The virus is called Zeus. It's a special type of Trojan horse that has already infected millions of computers. Zeus works by remaining dormant on your computer until you log into your bank account. Once you're in it steals your password and drains your account.

Zeus targets Windows machines. It does not work on Mac OS X or Linux. The only real way to protect yourself from it is to make sure you only click links that come from trusted sources.

The virus is sophisticated too. Sometimes it can even replace your bank's website with its own page in order to get even more information like your social security number so that it can be sold on the black market.

Zeus has been around since 2007 and evidence shows that it is only getting more active. The virus is being hosted from computers controlled by a Russian criminal gang that has been liked to online crimes ranging from malware and identity theft all the way to child pornography.

System. It backups the NAND flash,
something like the hard drive of your device.
A Nandroid backup can mean the difference
when you install a Custom ROM or when you
play with the roots of your device and
something suddenly goes wrong. go to google play and download
"online nandroid backup". when youve done
so, run online nandroid backup, you will need
an internet connection to update the nandroid
scripts. select clockworkmod mode, then click
"start backup" (note : have atlest 512MB on
your SD card). the backup should take about
20 mins.

Justiceotuya: Dont do the same mistake i did. Make sure you download nandriod and use it to back up your phone. Thats the only way you can use to restore it when it is bricked. Pls for your own sake back it up with NANDRIOD.

New Delhi, April 22: While the political class
of the country is facing an uphill task to
improve the women's safety in the wake of
the continuous instances of rape, some
young minds in the country have already
made a substantive contribution to deal with
the menace.
Manisha Mohan, a 20-year-old engineering
student at SRM University in Chennai, along
with two of her varsity colleagues, Niladri
Basu and Rimpi Tripathy, have designed an
anti-rape lingerie following the brutal
gangrape and assault of a 23-year-old
student in New Delhi in December last year
to ward off sexual offenders.
It took Mohan and her team three months to
develop the garment, which they call Society
Harnessing Equipment (SHE). Mohan said
she was left disgusted by the rape culture in
the country and her creation is a sort of
retaliation against the social menace.
How does the anti-rape lingerie work?
According to a report , he lingerie is a high-
tech piece of cloth which is capable of
detecting an advancing aggressor and
deliver massive electric shocks. The
garment will also be able to contact the
local police station and the girl's family to
inform them that she was in trouble. The
aggressor will also be photographed by the
inbuilt camera.
Questions, however, have been raised as to
how the anti-rape lingerie can differentiate
between an aggressor and a loved one and
how could the potential victim ensure that
she herself is not electrocuted. Can such an
apparently complicated garment be made
available for the masses?
The garment, which is a plain white
nightgown lined with a polymer can be worn
with a dress, pants or skirt. According to the
report, studies have shown that an
aggressor often tries to reach for the
victim's bosom and hence the dress's bra-
area has been fitted with censors capable of
detecting pinching and squeezing. Mohan
and her team said once the censor is
activated, the garment will send out a very
strong electric shock which will knock out
the aggressor. But the wearer won't feel any
shock since the side of the garment which
touches the skin is left insulated.
Moreover, there is an electric switch
attached to the waist of the cloth and that
can be switched on whenever the wearer
knows that there could be a potential
danger, like while going out late at night.
The switch, when on, will activate the shock
mechanism. At other times, the switch can
be kept in "off" mode.
The garment is also provided with a GPS
device which can be programmed in a way
to send messages to the near and dear ones
at times of crisis by the girl or woman
wearing it. It will also send an alert to the
nearest police station.
The creators of the garment are still busy
giving it the final touches to get it ready for
sale. Reports said they are yet to find if the
material can be washed in machine.
Questions are still on whether the garment
can be sold at cheaper rates, but Mohan
and her team are hopeful that it could be
reached to the women residing in villages.
The team said it aimed to make the world a
safer place without gaining any profit.
In 2004, two students of the National
Institute of Fashion Technology had
prepared a special jacket to curb crimes
against women and it is likely to hit the
market this year. That product also operates
on a similar shock mechanism to ward off
the sexual predators, it was learnt.

Justice Abdul Kafarati of the Federal High Court in Abuja Wednesday restrained the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) from further investigating the Managing Director of Capital Oil and Gas Limited, Mr. Ifeanyi Ubah, over his involvement in the multibillion naira fuel subsidy fraud.

THISDAY learnt that the suit by Ubah was necessitated by the fact that EFCC was closing in on him over his involvement in the subsidy fraud and was preparing to arrest and arraign him.

Investigations by THISDAY showed that the injunction by Justice Kafarati was sequel to the judgment by Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke of the Federal High Court in Lagos, which last February quashed and set aside the Presidential Report on Fuel Subsidy by the Managing Director of Access Bank Plc, Mr. Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede and a police interim report that indicted Ubah for fuel subsidy fraud.

In quashing the report, Justice Aneke had held that it was not obtained under favourable conditions, as there was a conflict of interest arising from the Aig-Imoukhuede report.

He also faulted the police report compiled by the Commissioner of Police in charge of the Special Fraud Unit (SFU), Mr. Ayotunde Ogunsakin, who was also a member of the presidential task force which indicted Ubah for fuel subsidy fraud.

The court held that both Aig-Imokhuede and Ogunsakin were investigators and prosecutors at the same time and also granted an order of perpetual injunction restraining the police, either acting by themselves or their privies, from harassing, detaining or otherwise infringing on the fundamental rights of the applicant.

The court consequently awarded Ubah the sum of N10 million for being detained for 10 days.

Ubah had filed a suit challenging the Presidential Report on Fuel Subsidy and his detention in custody.

Irrespective of Aneke’s ruling, EFCC two weeks ago had arrested Ubah for allegedly defrauding the federal government of over N43 billion through the fuel subsidy scheme. He was later released on administrative bail.

He was said to have been picked up from his Maitama mansion in Abuja and taken to EFCC’s head office, where he made a written statement before being released on bail later in the evening.

An EFCC source had said the commission moved against Ubah following his failure to honour previous invitations to answer questions on the subsidy fraud.

According to information made available to THISDAY, Ubah was first invited to meet with the operatives on April 11, but he failed, necessitating another invitation on April 19, which he also allegedly spurned.

The arrest was believed to be part of ongoing investigations and prosecution of persons and organisations that allegedly defrauded the federal government of about N1.7 trillion through dubious subsidy claims for the importation of petrol between 2010 and 2011.

Ubah on his part, had always denied his involvement in the fuel subsidy fraud, saying that his detractors had cooked up the story to tarnish his hard-earned reputation.

He accused Aig-Imoukhuede of bias and persecution, following what he called a “failed business deal” they had together.

Meanwhile, Ubah Wednesday night gave reasons why he went to court to secure the order, saying that it aimed at protecting his fundamental human rights.

In a statement issued by his lawyer, Afam Osigwe, the businessman said he had information that the EFCC planned to arrest, detain and prosecute him for an alleged offence for which he had been cleared.

He also stated that he was aware of plans by the EFCC to discredit him and make him lose credibility so as to frustrate his ambition to run for the Anambra State governorship election in 2014.

He said he did not need perpetual injunction to stop EFCC or any prosecutorial agency of the government because he had nothing to hide.

He said: "I instituted the action against the EFCC because the so-called investigation relates to a matter in respect of which I have been investigated and cleared by the SFU and a judgment of the Federal High Court. The investigation is therefore a mere witch-hunt with political undertones.

"I brought the above action to court because of my firm conviction that the so-called investigation was a witch-hunt intended to force me out of the gubernatorial race in my home state of Anambra.

"It is instructive to note that since about March 2013 when I declared my intention to contest in the gubernatorial election in Anambra State scheduled for 2014 as well as commenced consultations towards realising the ambition there has been no let up in the use of every machinery of state to intimidate me into withdrawing from the race.

"This is not surprising as the current Governor of the state is a known acolyte of some members of the Federal Executive Council of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and therefore has influence over some Government Agencies especially the EFCC."
