Tell us why you named ya attack helicopter in Afrikaan language, and not the black one.

Anyone can work as an Engineer in a company, but whoever owns the patent is the most important thing. Afrikaans built the attack helicopter, just as the British South Africans built ya Beetle fighter jets.

Stop telling porkies. They own ya darn country and that is the truth.
I don't know why he keeps arguing about this.

South Africans themselves know that the country remains in the hands of the multinationals.

These guys think that British and the Boers fought over their land in order to hand it back to them, the Europeans would rather die than let blacks own the wealth of that country.

Yes that was my point. US did not defeat the soviets directly but had more to spend unlike the soviet because the soviets were not very productive economically compared to their military might.

And yes same goes for the heavy US spending on the military. History always repeats itself i guess. But unlike the soviets, the American market is still important for Chinese products...For now
The bottom line is that without a powerful military you are dead meat. The US keeps on spending recklessly on defence because it doesn't want to end up being anyone's bi..tch when the inevitable collapse of the US dollar arrives. Same with the Soviets during the cold war, they'd rather keep beefing up their war machine rather than risk being easy prey for NATO.

You people think the US is China's only market , what about Africa, Europe and other Asian countries.

I was talking about the Soviet Union. They "lost" the cold war because of their economic woes and the west exploited them when the iron curtain fell during the Yelstin years. They had a strong military(which became a burden) yet they were exploited until putin came to power and put an end to it.
A strong economy and dynamic internal reforms should always be the first step to prevent exploitation not a strong armed forces.
The Soviet Union lost the cold war because they were involved in an arms race with the US which ended up bankrupting them, they also had internal problems which had nothing to do with the US , therefore the US were not directly responsible for their defeat. We could argue that the US's excessive military spending has also bankrupted them- their national debt is running at over 18 trillion dollars and their main creditor is China - would that mean that China has defeated the US?

South Africa's military is controlled by the Afrikaans and British South Africans, just as most of their corporations.
Of course.

You find a few of these white south Africans who were in the military during apartheid working as mercenaries all over Africa, a few of them are even involved in overthrowing progressive African leaders in other African countries.

This might be true however being military strong alone as a deterrent against exploitation is a thing of the past.
He who controls the money dictates terms. Ask the Soviets!
The Russians have a powerful military which has never been defeated in modern times, that makes a very big difference.

Without an effective military, you are easy prey for any country who fancies their chances with you.

The Dark Truth About Why South Africa Destroyed Its Nuclear Weapons in 1990

By: Mawuna Remarque KOUTONIN

Why would any country voluntarily dismantle its nuclear weapons which take years and billions to develop?

South Africa is the only country which ever give up its nuclear dissuasion power.

But Why? Did they dismantle the country’s nuclear weapons because they believed in a vision of an Africa free of nuclear weapons, as the press reported?

NO.

The white apartheid regime didn’t want a Black Nation to possess nuclear weapon, a dissuasive power in our contemporary world.

Foreseeing a democratic South Africa where Black people will be in power, the white regime destroyed all the country’s main military facilities, ballistics missiles and dismantling all six complete nuclear weapons shortly after the release of Nelson Mandela from prison in 1990.

South Africa hastily joined the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), and seven weeks later the country signed a Comprehensive Safeguards Agreement with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

According to Greg Mills “South African authorities co-operated fully with the IAEA during the whole verification process, and were commended by the then director-general of the Agency in 1992, Dr. Hans Blix, for providing inspectors with unlimited access and data beyond those required by the Safeguards Agreement“

In less than 3 years all South Africa’s ballistic missiles were scrapped, its six nuclear weapons dismantled, and any remaining missile engines destroyed.

To prevent any future attempt by any upcoming South African administration to empower the country, the apartheid regime enacted the most self-restricting legislation in the form of the “Act on the Non-proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction” that makes provision for a South African Council for Non-proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction to control exports of dual-use materials, equipment and technology.

While South African apartheid leaders’ actions were met with praise by the western medias and leaders, many saw this speedy destruction of all the country main military infrastructures as a sign that the racist apartheid regime and many western countries didn’t want the upcoming Black leaders to inherit such a powerful arsenal.

“The whole thing was dressed up as an honourable retreat from a nuclear Africa” said Frans Cronje, deputy CEO of the South African Institute of Race Relations, a Johannesburg-based think tank.

“A nuclear African state would be taken more seriously and would have a stronger leadership role – it forces people to take you seriously.

In leadership terms, renouncing nuclear weapons does the opposite – it reduces your influence in foreign affairs and international politics.

If renouncing nuclear weapons grows your influence, others would be falling over themselves to surrender their nuclear arsenals.” continued Frans Cronje

While a racist, violent, and brutal oppression white apartheid regime was trusted to have and manage nuclear weapons, a Black and democratically elected regime was not trusted to manage them.

That historic decision was all about racism. Nothing else.

South Africa would today be stronger on the international stage if it had retained a nuclear arsenal.

Do you think the Europeans are crazy to allow a black nation build up a war machine?
Once you are militarily powerful no-one can push you around, think about what that would mean for the EU/USA who have spent centuries milking Africa.

Let me make some few corrections here. Japan does not have a standing army. It's coast guard is an offshoot of a larger American army. The military technology of Japan is built primarily for the American and western countries. Any attack on Japan is viewed as an attack on America.
True that is the situation now, but I was talking about Japan in the early 19th century.

Prior to 1945 Japan was seen as the greatest threat to White Supremacy and had to be stopped in their tracks by the Europeans by any means necessary, hence Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Last I checked, it was fellow Africans that capture their own Africans brothers and sisters from villages to sold them to Portugese, spanish and American slave traders to enrich various African kings. DO blame AFRICANS AS WELL

I dont know about u, maybe u are still a slave, me I am fine with America, I lived there, visit there, enjoy myself there. May be u werent given a visa thats why u are soo bitter. my opinon

I can tell that majority of Nigerians fell more enslaved by their fellow black Nigeria leaders hence, the American Embassy and Home Office in the UK is soo filled with Nigerians trying to escape the country. OLODO
hahaha typical braindead Nigerian regurgitating history that was written by your oppressor.

The white man has even succeeded in convincing you that you are responsible for your own misfortune and like a gullible fool you swallow his lies.

Have you read any books written by African historians? Where do you get your information from - let me guess history books written by Europeans and americans. Let me ask you a question why would a white person tell you truth about the slave trade? Think about it. If I enslaved your ancestors and got stupendously rich off the back of your ancestors blood and sweat would I tell you that I am the root cause of all the pain and suffering you experience today?

Its simple human psychology - an abuser will never admit that he is an abuser, this is why a European or white American will never own up to the fact that the wealth of his nation was built on the murder, enslavement and ra.pe of Africans. The tragic thing is that people like you are so paralysed by ignorance that you accept their sanitised and whitewashed version of history. I understand your problem you are mentally crippled and depending on your age it may be too late for your to change your mindset, therefore nothing I will say to you will change the way you think.

Turning to your questions about Ironsi, Balewa and Muhammed - my answer is yes the white man had everything to do with their deaths - why? well check Nigeria's history, Nigeria is a creation of the british empire, Balewa was an unwanted puppet of the british empire foisted upon nigerians without the mandate of all of the various Nigerian ethnic groups, he served the interests of britain and not Nigerians therefore he had to go in order for Nigeria to move forward, in that respect his death can be attributed to Britain, had he not been foisted on Nigeria he would not have met with a premature death, Ironsi was murdered because he was an unfortunate victim of a situation that was created by the british who set Nigeria up to fail by pitting the 3 major ethnic groups against each other. The British are the architects of the born to rule mentality which northerners are still manifesting in Nigeria to date, hence our stagnation. Murtala Muhammed and Buhari despite being northerners are ironically the only Nigerian leaders to date who refused to take orders from the West. Failure to take orders from the West usually ends in overthrow or death, Murtala succumbed to the latter while Buhari succumbed to the former.

and by the way I have been to the US numerous times and I am not star struck by the country in any way as I am well travelled, nothing fazes me. What is the point of being fazed by the development of a country that was built on the blood and sweat of Africans and still regards Africans as inferior. Unlike you I am realistic and don't live in a fantasy world, I know that people like you pretend as if racism doesn't exist because you feel so grateful to be allowed to visit such countries, theres nothing better than being treated with respect and dignity which many blacks in the western world would give anything for.

Brother, FBI declassified some files this week. And apparently, Winston Churchill asked the yanks to nuke the Soviets in 1947 to win the cold war. Hence the reason for the Soviets to develop one by 1949, just to put them on a level playing field.

Once you look at that, you just have to question why we Africans are still so backwards, and can't even develop anything. Heck, even the little hardware made in South Africa are made by the white South Africans. And Nigeria is the giant of Africa, with all kinds of lousy folks.
Bros, its because we've got cowardly puppets in power who are terrified of going against the US.

Also our educational system is a joke, we are taught that Europeans are our saviours and that they brought us civilisation. The white man's religion is also being used to tranquilise Africans, so at the end of the day we are a nation of robots who do not have the ability to think for ourselves. Nigeria has a lot of potential but will only realise that potential with a great leader at the helm not a dumb western western agent like Badluck Jonathan or any of the other contenders who are fighting to get into power at the moment.

Japan built their arms industry up very quickly and were soon on an equal footing with the west, check the population of Japan, compare it to the population of Nigeria, what does Japan have that Nigeria doesn't have?

USA killed thousands of innocent iraqis and Afghanis during the invasion.

The US acts like greedy b-itches,only coming after benefits and our market, strategically,we aint as important to them cos they know our leaders will always concede to their demands without arguments.

Our problem is we have way too much respect for the US,they benefit more from us,and yet can not assist us in the only way we need them for.

Why announcing this, why not just buy the weapons.

For the novice talking about Russian being racists, even among us aint we tribalistic, nepotism is the order of the day in Naija-what has this got to do with business.
Russians are racists but USA are the biggest racists of all time, they cover up their racism with fake smiles and handshakes. Ask African Americans about how fantastic it is to live as a black person in the USA and then you will know.

Lynching and ra.pe of black people was a way of life for whites in the US until the late 1960s which is less than 50 years ago.

The US use Hollywood to brainwash and fool many black Africans, the reality of life for a black person in the US is never portrayed in their media. A few African American entertainers have been allowed to become megarich but they are a tiny minority and do not represent the overwhelming majority of 40 million black americans who face racism on a daily basis in the US.
Who supported apartheid south Africa and helped that evil govt track and capture Mandela - the USA.

Who sent troops to help the Angolans free themselves from the racist grip of Portuguese rule? Fidel Castro of Cuba.

Is the weapon engineers in the US or Russia have two heads? no be the same god create them? Now, we are begging other country to help us, we are at their mercy and on our knee for help. That is why America is great and fear by others, she control her own destiny, by building her weapon for defense, teaching their children practical study, instead of the theoritical study in Nigeria. We will forever a begger nation. We need to spend on military industries to creat jobs, and defend the country, let others buy from us. "the giant of africa" my foot.
Absolutely spot on!

Russia were able to build up their arms industry in a space of 10 years. When faced with an imminent occupation of their country by the Nazis they accelerated the devt of their arms industry within a few years and were able to prevent their country from being overrun by the Nazis who had a superior army. Begging your enemies to supply you with arms is a sign of failure.

Grow a set of balls and learn to stand on your own two feet. You expect the United States to supply you with arms when it is in their interest for you to remain militarily weak and under their control.
Do you see Iran begging the US to supply them with arms?

Pastor Chris Okotie

His church may not be as big as that of other pastors but the resources he pulls out of the church has been largely responsible for the acquisition of almost half of Oregun community in Lagos where he’s having his church. Pastor Chris Okotie of the Household of God Church is one of the present-day Pentecostal pastors who have made so much money for knowing what to say to their very influential congregation.

His sojourn into church business started years back when he decided to shelve his musical career that was not doing so well after returning to Nigeria for the pulpit and the decision has since turned him to a multimillionaire. Christopher is a man that knows his onions when it comes to making speeches that will backed with his law background. Okotie knows what to say to make his congregation go to the wire in fulfilling his financial needs.

He made millions with the sales of his book the Last Outcast, which was hawked by members of his church. It is also believed that he made money playing politics and that he chose not to contest for the office of the president under his Fresh Party in the last election because of the new Independent Electoral Commission of Nigeria (INEC) chairman’s decision not to release money to contesting parties, an amount Okotie has been collecting in the past to divert into personal use.

Pastor Tunde Bakare

He’s not only the most controversial amongst Nigerian pastors but also almost outspoken and he might have hit the nail on the head recently when he said all Nigerian pastors including him should be jailed for corruption. Pastor Tunde Bakare, who practised his law profession before he became a pastor, knows that he had got some money since he became a pastor that he is not supposed to have touched in form of offerings and the excesses of some of his colleagues in the ministry irked him to making such confession.

Though he looks modest, it is a fact that he rakes in millions through many other programmes and publications. His Latter Rain Assembly sits on a large expanse of land in the heart of the city which he said was sold to the church very cheap, while he rakes in money through programmes like Apostolic Training School which is an online programme said to train pastors, The Dominion Partners Global which is group of people who use their God-given resources to advance the ministry work by supporting the vision and purpose of the church and Global Apostolic Impact Network, a forum of spiritual interconnectivity of believers in various walks of life using their various vocational, occupational and professional abilities to impact the world and implant His glory. Church Development Center is a forum for Kingdom-minded ministers of the Word with a common vision where they are empowered to extend the frontiers of the Kingdom to the world at large, while International Centre for Reconstruction and Development is passionately committed to re-engineering the social, economic and political landscape of Nigeria and the nations of the earth.

All these bring money into the church one way or the other. Another source is his book ministry which is becoming more popular, as many would want to read the things he claimed he had predicted in the past that has come to pass just to further make people who really need a genuine prophetic impartation approach his church through one of the earlier listed progammes, he’s also blessed with several wonders-on-wheels which aids his movement from his highbrow Opebi home to his Ogba church every service.

Bishop David Oyedepo

In the league of those who are raking in billions in the vineyard of God is Bishop David Oyedepo of the famous Living Faith Ministries a.k.a. Winners Chapel. The church, touted to be the world’s biggest church building, is situated in Ota, Ogun State.

Also inside the vast expanse Canaan Land is Covenant University of which Oyedepo is Chancellor as well as a secondary and primary school.

The primary school, named Kingdom Heritage, is very expensive and is not for children of the poor. It has branches in 12 other Nigerian cities. The secondary school named Faith Academy charges N250,000 per session. The university charges different fees in three different colleges but the fees are from N650,000 and above.

Recent happenings show that the school may be bringing in more money as the bishop has taken more interest in the establishment of tertiary institutions he introduces Landmark University in his Omu-Aran, Kwara State home town and another one is under construction in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory. He was also said to have announced that he will be starting seven more universities in different parts of Africa with South-Africa’s university already under construction.

Aside from the levies generated through the schools, it is also the duty of members in all the branches of the church to contribute towards the development of the institutions. Members of the church call themselves Winners, an allusion to their perceived victory over poverty, demons and diseases and their general overseer, who is affectionately called Papa, is an exponent of prosperity teaching and his followers believe that his teachings inspire them to see themselves as winners and every Sunday, they troop to Canaanland for service.

And as they stream into the vast auditorium, they are handed envelopes for offering, tithes and other donations. But according to a reliable source, that style is now archaic; the instruction to all members now is to bring their envelopes that will contain their different donations from their respective homes. The routine is also repeated during Shiloh, a week-long annual camp meeting which draws members from Nigeria and abroad.

His foreign branches are also mandated to send revenue to the headquarters, to which “Papa” has unfettered access. It was this money that caused problems between Oyedepo and his pastor in Ghana, George Adjeman.

It was said that the monthly revenue being remitted by the Ghana church was $60,000.

Bishop Oyedepo is also into publishing. According to Oyedepo, God gave him a publishing mandate and told him: “Your books are supernatural arrows for the liberation of mankind; send them forth! My presence shall go with them and they shall subdue and devour the works of the wicked multitudes…(Readers) will be saved, baptized in the Holy Ghost, healed and delivered from all oppressions of the devil. Emphasize the books and your publications; that is my task for you.”

And Oyedepo seems to have fully accomplished this task. As part of his business empire, Oyedepo established Dominion Publishing House and has written about 70 books covering various aspects on the Christian faith, teaching followers how to be successful in business. The books are bestsellers in their own right and have been translated into French. On the church’s website, the prices range between four and eight pounds each.

His wife, Faith, is also an author with a number of books about marriage to her credit. In 1998, Oyedepo established the Gilead Medical Centre at his headquarters in Lagos. Two years later, he opened its branch in Kaduna where his ministry began.

However, the church claims that the clinic provides treatment at heavily subsidized rates. Oyedepo’s church also sells gift items online. Its website bears information on the use and how to buy. “Our gift certificates are the perfect gift solution that will put an end to those tricky moments when you just can’t seem to find the right gift, or you need a gift in a hurry. Send as many as you want to let friends, family or customers and colleagues select the present they really want. We have something for everyone,” says the website.

Recently the church decided to start their own airline called Dominion Air. This according to source is because the number of aircraft in the possession of the man of God is increasing by the day and rather than just allowing it all wasting away without use as he can only travel in one at a time, he decided to commercialize it. With its long product chain, Oyedepo’s Winners Chapel is something close to corruption. The bishop himself lives like a business mogul and he owns a garage that parades state-of-the-art cars as sources claim he has a very big garage where about three Chrysler brand of cars were abandoned and not in use as well as other cars like that.

Pastor Joseph Agboli

Apart from collecting tithes and offering, the senior pastor of Victorious Army, Joseph Agboli has devised another means for his congregation.

It is alleged that the pastor during service would tell his people that the church is in need of certain things and he wants people to contribute to the work of God. But to make people wake up to his call, he would just mention a bogus amount of money in the tune of millions depending on what mood he is.

And immediately he mentions this, the whole congregation has no option but to donate what they didn’t bargain for.

And to further display his new-found wealth in the vineyard of God, Pastor Agboli is in the habit of asking his wife how much he bought some of his accessories like wristwatch, shoes etc. He would call out to his wife, “Mummy, where did I buy these shoes and for how much?” and mummy would then reply, “I remember you bought it at Harold’s in UK for 10, 000 US dollars” and the whole congregation would then shout halleluyah.

One ex-church member told Global News that he stopped going to the Victorious Army Church when he saw the way the man of God was forcing money from his church members and while the pastor and his family live big, some of those who are donating their hard-earned money are struggling to survive.

Pastor Gbenga Oso

The case of Laughter Foundation Church is another dimension. The church founder, Pastor Gbenga Osho is making millions by giving children to those who are barren.

The pastor popularly known as father of million babies is laughing to the bank every day because he allegedly has the power to produce babies for those who are seeking the fruit of the womb and with the way he parades his abilities, those who are desperate are trooping to his church to get their own share of the babies.

And in return, they end up donating different products, including olive oil, especially the one claimed to be from Israel which people rush to buy. Recently the news was agog that the purported man of God shows his other ability as he pounce on his wife beating the poor woman blue-black which first call into question his anointing and later it was reported that his supposed miracle babies are also stage-managed just to broaden his business empire.

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome

Chris Oyakhilome, was said to have developed his style right from when he was still in school where his church was formed from his Believer’s World Fellowship which was later turned to the present Christ Embassy Church. His core preaching is hinged on “Sowing the seed”, which requires followers to give part of their earnings to the church in offering and tithes. And he knows his onions when it comes to raking in naira in millions. His church boasts of hundreds of young company executives and businessmen, and every church programme guarantees enormous revenue. Those without money are enjoined to turn in their jewellery, wristwatches and other personal items as offering. Followers fall over one another to do that, expecting God to run his tap of blessings. Others give cars, generators, musical instruments and chairs to the church.

Some of Oyakhilome’s church members have even gone as far as stealing just to meet the demand. An example is one Lawrence Agada, an assistant pastor who was a cashier with the Lagos Sheraton Hotel and Towers. He donated cash gifts to the church totalling N39 million alleged to be stolen from his employers.

And in appreciation, Oyakhilome wrote him a letter: “May God, who gives seed to the sower and bread for eating, multiply your seeds in Jesus name.”

But rather than receive God’s blessings, Agada became a guest of the police when his employers discovered that he had stolen from them to give to the church. Agada’s employers also insisted that Oyakhilome should refund the money but he refused.

Another member of his church, Gbenga Kehinde, who was then an assistant manager with the now defunct Eko International Bank, allegedly stole about N40 million from his employers and donated N10 million to the church to receive blessings of God.

It is also alleged also that Oyakhilome during his numerous church services asked the members to donate hard currencies to receive more blessings of God and the case of “I am not with money” is a thing of the past in his church because the automated teller machine is right inside the premises of his church for church members’ use.

Aside from collecting money from members of his church, Pastor Chris has income streams other than offerings, tithes and donations. He appears to have a sharp business sense; his face and name sell huge quantities of products which make him such a preacher of the gospel.

Some of the products he sells include books, video tapes of his crusades and miracles, audio tapes, CDs, VCDs and DVDs of his teachings, which are sold at the various parishes and through agents.

They can also be bought online, via the digital media store of the church website.

One of the church’s website advertises audio and visual materials of the Christian faith. In Nigeria, a video tape costs between N300 and N1,300 while CDs are bought for between N300 and N1,300. DVDs attract between N600 and N3,600 and there are books which cost between N200 and N450.

The most successful of these is Rhapsody of Realities, a bi-monthly devotional guide. The book which is published in 25 languages and also has children’s version, is considered a companion to the Bible. For Oyakhilome’s followers around the world, it is an important emblem of faith.

In Nigeria, it costs N350, abroad it is $5, while a one-year subscription attracts $42.20. For online purchases, video tapes, CDs, VCDs and DVDs cost between $18 and $20.

Oyakhilome’s messages are also received in pocket personal computers, mobile phones and palmtops and with his large congregation one can imagine how much his income would amount to, and these he makes use of with various investments which range from hotels into publishing house. He was said to have acquired companies both in the media and manufacturing sectors within and outside the shores of the country. He was said to have run into troubled waters with Senator Mike Ajeigbo, when he tried to lay claim to his defunct television station MBI and that according to sources was the reason the TV station was closed down.

Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo

Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo is the founder of Kingsway International Christian Centre KICC. His second name is fast becoming controversy. He was at the centre of controversy over a quarter of a million pounds he was paid to run an evangelical church which plunged him into the centre of a financial scandal. KICC was investigated by the Charity Commission which uncovered serious financial irregularities a few years ago and Pastor Ashimolowo, its founder was ordered to pay $200,000 back to the Christian Centre.

It was discovered that he used the church’s credit card to buy a timeshare in Florida and got $120,000 to celebrate his birthday while he was also alleged to have transferred hundreds of thousands of pounds abroad.

The investigations also showed one of KICC’s employees (name withheld) claiming that Pastor Ashimolowo received an annual salary of between $250,000 to $260,000. While he was alleged to be using different names to defraud the church, the pastor, knowing fully well that the British authorities may close in on him, instead of investing the money over there, he invested heavily here in Nigeria on properties.

He is alleged to have a glass skyscraper in Ikeja area of Lagos, estimated to cost several millions of naira, while in Osun State, the pastor is also said to be building an edifice which will later be converted to a university, and it is called Land of Dreams.

Aside from properties, Ashimolowo is a lover of wonders-on-wheels and he has in his garage Range Rover Vogue Sport, Bullet-proof Hummer Jeep, Porsche Cayeen Jeep and other exotic cars, while he also loves expensive wristwatches.

His show of wealth reached its peak some time ago when his father in-law was celebrating his birthday and he decided to give him a Hummer Jeep as a birthday present. It is believed that the trouble he’s been facing in the UK was the reason he decided to broaden his business here in Nigeria by the completion of his church university at Ode-Omu with an amount in the region of one billion naira. The style and tricks these pastors use differ from church to church depending on what they capitalize on in the lives of their congregation

Super Eagles Star Player Wilson Oruma Goes Insane After Being Duped N1.2billion By Pastor
05/11/2014 07:40:00

There are reports which just surfaced online that former Golden Eagles Captain/Super Eagles star player, Wilson Oruma, lost his mind for two years while battling with insanity after he was duped by fraudsters introduced to him by a Lagos-based frontline Pentecostal Pastor, (name withheld) whose church (name withheld) is located in the Surulere area of the state.

In a report by New Telegraph Online,Oruma’s travail started in 2012 when the Pastor in question invited the former victorious Golden Eaglets captain to a private meeting in the church to discuss the possibility of investing heavily into what he described as a lucrative business where he promised to invite the mega bucks investors to the church a week later. A date was fixed for this.

It was at the second meeting, it was gathered that the former Atlanta 96 Olympic gold medallists was introduced to some well-dressed gentlemen who were said to be in possession of some oil blocks they were ready to sell to the rich ex-international. Oruma, who acted alone without consultation with any of his lawyers and his close friend, Mr. Emakpor Dibofun, believed the story of the fraudsters and never suspected any foul play as they were introduced by his Pastor.

He was advised to invest heavily so as to yield heavy profit. The two-time African Nations Cup bronze medallist, withdrew funds from all his investments across Europe in three months and withdrew his life savings to ensure he pumped enough money into the oil business. He did not suspect any foul play as the Pastor kept assuring him that, the people are credible and are God fearing business investors.

In all, Oruma paid a whopping N1.2billion into the dedicated bank account given to him to make payments which he did over six months. The ex-soccer star that played alongside Frank Ribery and Samir Nasri in his days at Olympique Marseille FC of France started suspecting foul play when he did not hear from the people again and they failed to pick their mobile phones on days scheduled for important updates. He ran to his Pastor for possible succour and reassurance that all was well, but instead the Pastor rebuffed Oruma and told him that, he was a full-time minister of God who knew nothing about oil business, but only introduced him to those he believed could help make his business empire larger.

The Pastor asked if he was involved in the business dealings all the while and the answer was a capital no. He thus divorced himself from any blames leaving the soccer star to lick his own wounds but he was not strong enough to withstand the attendant psychological pressure. A few weeks after this ordeal, Oruma started behaving funny. He started talking to himself and had hot altercations with his wife at their Victoria Garden City home in Lagos.

It was gathered that, it was after one of the series of altercations with his wife who blamed him for the family’s misfortune and huge loss of money that Oruma busted out of their home in VGC and stormed a popular supermarket where he destroyed valuables. He was wrestled to the floor, with his legs and hands tied to avoid further destruction.

From this day in 2012, Oruma’s unstable mind became pronounced. His close friend, Emakpor with his hands and legs tied took the soccer star to a church in Warri, Delta state for spiritual healing. After destroying valuables in the church, Oruma escaped to his VGC home in Lagos where he continued to disturb residents. It was also learnt that with his unstable mind, he gave out one of his expensive SUVs worth N14million to a friend who speedily drove away the vehicle.

To avoid further embarrassments of VGC residents, Oruma’s family agreed to take him to his Suru-Lere home near Brown Street in Aguda, Lagos where secret treatments continued. He was first taken to the church where he was duped, which was nearby his Aguda home. Here, the culprit pastor after some failed attempts to heal the player advised that he should be taken back home as Oruma had been hit by a strange mental illness which defiled all known treatments.

The ex-international was tied and closely monitored in his Aguda home for over one year as the family sought spiritual healing for him. The player, who started his football career at Tamuno Babes FC of Warri, was not taken to an orthodox mental hospital in his family’s attempt to conceal his ailment from the public.

Oruma suffered untold hardship for two years as his family with the help of his close friend and former teammate, Emakpor Dibofun, took him to number Pentecostal churches in Lagos seeking spiritual healing. The much desired healing eventually came few weeks ago when he was given a clean bill of health as he overcame the mental illness. He has started walking again as the sores on his legs from long period of being tied down in one place are healing fast.

In the words of Oruma’s kid brother, Dominic a former Golden Eaglets and Flying Eagles goalkeeper; “Wilson is recovering fast, he now recognizes his family members and he has returned to his house in VGC under the care of his wife. We are very happy about this. It was not easy seeing him suffer so much in the last two years after his money was taken away. We give God the glory for the gift of healing.

“He has told us not to press charges against the pastor who brought fraudsters to dupe him heavily as he said the incident is now in the past. Another good thing is that all his properties are intact and most of his major investments are doing fine.” Oruma was captain of the Nigeria Under-17 team that won the 1993 FIFA U-17 World Cup where he emerged the tournament’s top goal scorer with six goals. He played 19 international matches over 11 years for Nigeria and was part of the team that participated in the 1998 FIFA World Cup, where he scored in the only appearance he made in the tournament against Paraguay. He was also a part of the squad that won the Olympic gold medal in 1996, a year after he debuted for Nigeria.

He played for the Eagles at the 2002 and 2006 Africa Cup of Nations, finishing both competitions at third place. Oruma played most of his club career in France, after arriving at RC Lens in 1994. He was loaned to Nancy a year after. He returned to Lens and played in their 1997-98 Ligue 1 title campaign.

He moved to Turkish side Samsunspor in 1998 and returned to France one year later to play for Nîmes. In 2000, he was transferred to Swiss side Servette, played two seasons before coming back to France again, where he played until 2009 for Sochaux, Marseille and Guingamp, winning the 2003-04 Coupe de la Ligue with Sochaux and the 2008-09 Coupe de France title with Guingamp. The former Nigerian international announced his retirement from football at the age of 33 on November 26, 2010.

He last played his international football for Kavala FC of Greece, before bidding farewell to football

Must everything be viewed through the Nigerian lens. Most modern ministries have international mandates. The school I'm sure is to serve his congregation there. Or do you wish they send their kids to Nigeria in the morning and pick them up at the airport after lunch time school close.
Oyedepo and his shi.tty brainwashing schools are not needed nor wanted in the UK, don't you think your fake bishop has got his priorities screwed up? Why set up a school in a developed industrialised nation when poverty continues to ravage his own people in droves. shouldn't charity begin at home? Or does it begin in the land of your historical oppressors?

And please don't ever compare this theif to the likes of Messi, Peter and Paul Okoye and Bill Gates who actually relied on creativity and talent to become rich not lies and deceit.

Hell fire will be too good a place for Oyedepo when he finally kicks the bucket.
