uneeking: This is a REAL LEADER shedding tears in public over the death of children in his country. When will we have such leaders in Nigeria? When will we stop the DEALERS claiming to be LEADERS in Nigeria? When people got angry and beat up a Commissioner some days ago in Plateau State, idiots kept condemning them. WHO PUSHED THE PEOPLE TO THE WALL? DO YOU THINK PLATEAU PEOPLE AND NIGERIANS ARE IDIOTS? THAT WAS JUST A SIGN OF THINGS TO COME. SUCH NATURAL HAPPENINGS DO NOT NEED ANY ORGANIZING. THEY WILL SIMPLY HAPPEN AT THE RIGHT TIME. THE NIGER DELTA PEOPLE WERE NEVER A VIOLENT PEOPLE BEFORE THEIR OGBANJE LEADERS PUSHED THEM TO THE WALL! NOW IT IS THE TURN OF PLATEAU STATE AND POSSIBLY THE REST OF THE MIDDLE BELT TO STAND UP AND BE COUNTED!
TIME TO SEND THE DEMONS HOME AND PUT NAIJALAND (NOT NIGERIA) ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE MAP OF THE WORLD. THIS OGBANJE NAME (NIGERIA) SHOULD BE CHANGED TO NAIJALAND ONCE AND FOR ALL NOW. WE NEED A SOVEREIGN CONFERENCE NOW WHETHER THE OGBANJES AGREE OR NOT!
real leader who sanctioned the invasion of libya which lead to the massacre of thousands of black africans

real leader who never defends the interests of black americans

real leader who passed the National Defence Authorisation Act which allows the US govt to hold people indefinitely in detention without trial if they are SUSPECTED of being involved in terrorist activity.

this is the same US govt that can frame suspects and jail them for life using non existent or fake evidence - all black militants in america in the 1960s and early 70s were done away with using this method.

YOU NEED AN EDUCATION

Do the super rich americans also do corrupt deals with the government. Do they get away with over inflated contracts which they dont even execute? Why do we only see MONEY as the center of existence?

Hard work with Grace of God even in hellish circumstances will give you a level of comfort which is all you require.
Not everyone is interested in being Adenuga or Dangote who have benefited from a tilted playing field. And not everyone wants to have to tell a lie to earn a living - which is how 95% of Nigerians probably make their money .
actually they do - read up on the 2008 economic collapse in the western world and what triggered it, you will find that it was the major banks in the US and europe who are are corrupt as hell, but who have total control over their respective governments.

the super rich in america not only are involved in corrupt deals with the US govt THEY OWN THE US GOVT!!! THEY OWN THE MEDIA, THE BANKS AND THEY EVEN OWN THE CORPORATION THAT PRINTS MONEY - THE FEDERAL RESERVE, THEREFORE THEY ARE A LAW UNTO THEMSELVES BECAUSE AS ONE FAMOUS US PLUTOCRAT MAYER ROTHSCHILD ONCE SAID: GIVE ME CONTROL OF A NATION'S MONEY AND I CARE NOT WHO MAKES ITS LAWS.

Guy get my statement ryt am not talking about who developed this or that buh is about logical thinking ie what should be done at the right time, an average white man think about what should be done at the ryt time and there way of lifestyle speak a lot about this. how many standard hospital do you av in ur state, wat is the state of road in your state, how many schools av bin rehabilitated, wat is the transportation system like, do u av some basic amenities in place, d security system is ok, wat about prevention against major catastrophe is it in place, wat abt water supply is it functioning, can you boast of 5hrs power supply in state, pls this are the kind of logical thinking am talking about that does not even required 10 percent resources to achieve
and this is why i would like for you to read about the IMF and the world bank and how they are actively working aroudn the clock to ensure that we remain underdeveloped, poverty stricken, war torn and in a state of permanent chaos - read about how these organisations finance military coups, destabilisation projects, arming and funding of disgruntled elements within african countries in order to ensure that we remain in a state of permanent chaos, let me educate you - an average white man thinks about how he and his entire race can remain in a position of control and power over you the black man till eternity - this is known as white supremacy, on the other hand the average black man is thinking about how he can be better than his fellow black man - do you see the difference? individual thinking versus collective thinking - individual thinking can only get you as far as your individual capacity, whereas collective thinking can enable you to defeat entire populations, do you know that the europeans are the minority race on this planet? but you wouldnt think that is the case when you think of what they have accomplished. why have they been able to accomplish so much? because they are UNITED - britain, canada, europe , australia, south africa, new zealand and the united states work as one entity against the rest of the world contrast this to how africa works, infact contrast this to how nigeria works - igbo versus yoruba, hausa versus igbo - no unity - that is and will remain our downfall, recognise that as long as you are a black man in this current dispensation you arae the enemy of the white man whose sole objective in life is to ensure that he remains in a position of dominance over you.

all of the issues that you have mentioned can never be resolved until the root of our problem is uprooted and destroyed, nigeria is still the property of britain and america - we obtained flag independence, the northern oligarchy were installed by the british in order to protect their investement, we are still in bondage, the igbos tried to secede from this bondage but were decimated - had the igbos and yorubas been united we would have defeated western imperialism and today we would have been in control of our destiny just like the chinese are. stop living in a fool's paradise and open your eyes, the future of the black race depends on the ability of the most populated black nation on the planet to forge its own destiny, but this will mean confronting and defeating our enemy - white supremacy - do we have the guts to accomplish what the chinese succeeded in accomplishing?

eastOFwest: I will describe a flat as dingy if it is dingy! So because some people live in mud houses in Nigeria I cannot call a spade a spade?! It's this same mentality that is used when u criticise something in Nigeria and u ar told to shut up "as if u can do better" or "is it any better in your place?".

Didn't the white man also build schools, colleges and railways in Africa? What the hell are you talking about?! Of course, they had more to do in Africa because India had attained a certain level of advancement (which I'm sure is due to Their culture and lifestyle) when the white man came. However, that is no excuse! You don't expect the whole world to adjust to suit the Blackman? For chances to be "created" for us! We should fix up, adjust, do what is supposed to be done and stop moaning about "forces" against us, real or imagined.
have you heard of the dark ages? did you know europeans lived in caves when africans had already attained advanced levels of civilisation - all of this information is hidden from self hating eurocentrics like yourself.

where are the schools and universities the british built in nigeria prior to 1960? you hate yourself thats why you have the guts to describe india as being more advanced than africa despite the fact that africa taught the greeks and romans everything they came to know- go and read about your history and stop disgracing yourself

africans are helping to oil the wheels of capitalism in the western world - why? because the average african immigrant is poor and desperate - they make ideal workers within the western cap;italist system because they remain eternally gratefull that they have been saved from destitution and starvation in their home countries (by the way these conditions in their home countries are the brainchild of western banks and corporations) so the western world effectively destroys the economy of your home country and then offers you the "opportunity" by way of visa lottery to come to their own country to live and work as a second class citizen in order to further build up and enrich their own country. and yet many nigerians remain blind to these facts and continue to delude themselves that they are being done a favour by being allowed to work round the clock in the western world. To those of you who remain wilfully blind - ask yourselves this question - if africa is so poor why are so many western multinationals in africa making trillions of dollars while you continue to exit africa en masse for life as a second class citizen in the western world working for a pittance until you die?

chuquiz: A WHITE MAN PAYING YOU LESS, BUT IN NAIJA YOU SEE WORK ANY PLACEhuh
YOU ARGUMENT IS NOT RATIONAL. AT LEAST YOU GET YOUR WAGES EVEN WITH BENEFITS AND THEY DONT LOOK DOWN ON YOU
my argument is not rational to you because you do not understand how capitalism works.

Your naija is also owned by the same white man - he is 100% responsible for the reason that there are no jobs in your country - research the world bank and IMF and how they operate to keep african countries in perpetual debt and subservience.

you get your wages in the western world but you get far less than a citizen of that country would work for - as a result you work to enrich the corporations and you undercut the indigenous workers because you will take anything. this is actually the reason why racism is on the rise in the west as we speak.

poverty back home causes immigrant africans desperate to work for anything in the western world - which is good news for western businesses and corporations - wake up!

eastOFwest: Don't mind them! This thread is just a typical example of what the problem is in Nigeria. Nigerians can't make it abroad because the white man won't let them blah blah blah! Meanwhile Indians and Pakistanis will come from villages that are worse than places in Nigeria and make millions abroad.

Let me tell you the simple truth. A lot of Nigerians can't make it abroad because they are arrogant, very very indiscipline, fraudulent, deceitful and refuse to integrate!!

A Nigerian (living in a dingy council house) will spend thousands of pounds throwing party for "naming ceremony", "birthday party", "thanksgiving" etc, while his Indian counterpart will be saving that money for private school for his kids or to start a business. Even the white people that are comfortable will just take his kids and friends at an activity centre for a party instead of spending thousands. We are so childishly obsessed with showing off and being flashy with matured women walking around in “gelle” and gold doing “swaggalicious mummy”. A Nigerian will spend thousands on a big car, gold jewellery for parties etc., while still in debt.

Nigerians think they can bring their “any how” useless lifestyle abroad and when they don’t make it they blame it on someone else, i.e. the white man. How come Indians with very thick accents are so successful in the UK and America? I have a lot of Indian colleagues at work (and was close to one who was my neighbour) and I’ll tell you why. Hard graft and supreme self discipline. These guys are always scrimping and saving. They’ll go to the cheapest shops like BHS and primark to buy clothes; they don't care about fashion. If a Nigerian does that they call you “okoro”. If you see an Indian driving a Mercedes Benz, then it very likely that he can actually afford a Bentley.

A lot of Nigerians dey fall hand seriously in the UK where I live. Wrong priorities, no planning, frivolity, and fixation on what their mates are doing in Nigeria and they are neglecting their children due to their “anyhow” lifestyle. A record number of children of Nigerian parentage are being removed by social services and joining street gangs. You’ll spend thousands on cars, parties and jewellery, and just dump your kids in the local bog standard school to mix with riff raffs and expect what? Prisons in the UK are full of Nigerians of all backgrounds. Even professional people like accountants are ending up in jail (I personally know 4 people like that) due to fraud.

Let the truth be told, the Nigerian lifestyle stinks and that is the reason why so many cannot make it anywhere but in Nigeria where anything goes. In Nigeria, the more ingeniously corrupt & fraudulent you are, the better your chances are of making it! All those virtues of hard work, self discipline etc are seen as suffering. If Indian village boys can make it in the UK, then why can’t Nigerian city dwellers? Stop all these silly excuses, fix up and stop blaming the white man or the system. You cannot cannot continue to behave like you are still in Lagos and expect to make it.

Having said that, there are a lot of Nigerians who smartly adopt the positive aspects of their host countries and combine it with discipline, hard work and “Nigerian hustle” to make a very comfortable wealthy lifestyle for themselves.
YOU ARE SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CLUELESS!!! GOSH

to think that you can even speak with contempt about british council flats shows just how fcking s.tupid you are - do you know the lives that have been saved from destitution because of low cost housing in this country, to think you have the temerity to describe british council flats as dingy when the poor in nigeria live in the type of environment that many people in the west would never allow their pets to live in !!!!! JEEZ TALK ABOUT SELF DELUSION.

70% of the population of your country live in substandard accomodation, do not have access to proper health care, do not have access to standard education, do not have access to jobs that will enable them live on a liveable wage and yet, and yet you have the nerve to speak so dismissively about council housing in the UK!!!!!!

YOUR UNDERSTANDING OF WORLD HISTORY EQUALS TO ZERO - DO YOU THINK ASIANS AND AFRICANS ARE IN THE SAME BOAT, HAVE YOU HEARD OF DIVIDE AND CONQUER? do you think the white man will allow you access to upward mobility in a world that he controls? the white man owns you and your continent, every valuable resource in africa is owned and controlled by the white man - COMPRENDE?

when the british were in india they built railways, universities, colleges etc compare that to the level of "development" they left behind in africa - the truth is the white man sees the african as the lowest form of human life, the evidence is out there for you to see, he gives the asian more opportunities within his system of white supremacy but ensures that the black african irrespective of his knowledge remains at the bottom - FACT! why ? because he never ever wants the african to compete with him or usurp his position - try reading history - it will help you.

pDude: Guy i go buy you Moet wink

There is no principality nor power that is going to drag me back to that shithole country called Nigeria. See how my former colleagues and classmates, some who have jobs and some who don't are bombarding my facebook mail and bbm with requests of 100 dollars for xmas. That is the same country you want me to return to? The company i was working for was paying me peanuts after all the years I spent in university: so that is where you want me to return to? When I relocated to Aba from Lagos Almost 3 years ago, na so mosquito almost kill me for inside that filthy city, come see as my body and face come rough. Right now after just 8 months of staying here in Yankee, come see as my skin don fresh sotay I don dey resemble Akata grin. So you are telling me Nigeria is better than US? I applied for a job here, when I went in for the interview with an American chinko, she told me that it was a temporary job but a day later, she called me back and told me that she fought for me so that they changed it to a permanent job. She gave me the necessary documents and that same day I got a job. A chinko that didn't know me from Adam fought for me and gave me a good job with one of the big healthcare companies here.

In short, OP, thunder faya you for ever opening this idiotic thread angry angry
Don't get it twisted - the chinco fought for you not because she likes you but because she knows that as an african you are willing to work harder for less - nigerians are yet to understand the dynamics of capitalism - its all about the money, a white man will employ you not because he thinks you're fantastic but because he can pay you less than he will have to pay an american citizen thereby increasing his profit margin - FACT!

This is why knowledge iS power - research the history of capitalism - the white man is rich today because of the sweat and blood of the black man - FACT!

[quote author=]May will say i'm being selfish, or 'dont want them to come' as most of our people do when I or any american born Nigeria tells them that they're wasting their time trying to come here. I figured I leave the truth out here because many of our people are dying, and ending up in prisons, more importantly committing unnesscary acts of desperation in the name of obodo oyibo while many that live here are trying to go back to Nigeria because they know the truth.
your "analysis" is full of holes - first of all you leave out the main reason why nigerians are desperate to leave nigeria, why dont you start by addressing the complete and utter failure of the nigerian govt to provide a decent standard of living for its people, how about the fact that nigeria under instructions from its western masters continues to implement economic policies that have succeeded in reducing nigerians to some of the world's most impoverished people, despite its vast oil and gas reserves. yes, many nigerians are dying in US prisons but what would have been the alternative for them back home? armed robbery, kidnapping, prostitution, looting of the national treasury? nigeria is a kleptocracy - a country run by criminals and bandits there is no law and order, no security, no safety net for the poor and vulnerable - nothing - its a dog eat dog society where everyone lies and cheats in order to survive - why would any sane person want to live in such a place - lets face it the only people who voluntarily choose to live in nigeria are criminals aka politicians and their friends and cronies, the rest ie the teeming struggling masses have no choice.

If you can make it in the US, you can make it in Nigeria

We too often attribute success to geographic location. While location is important for many things and some environments are more conducive than others, the US is not the place to come if you want to be rich, and more importantly if you want to be rich AVOID europe. The reason is because this is the land of the middle class. Going to school and working hard is going to land you in the middle class. You will live in a modest home, drive a modest car, and be able to cloth and feed yourself well. This is not rich. The problem in Nigeria is the middle class is rare so people don't know what it is.
Middle class people buy everything using loans for the bank. That's what you have to do in america. You don't own your home, you don't own your car, and you have to pay thousands for school after you finish. This is how many Nigerian Americans get 'trapped' in the US. Because they are middle class they can't pay off these loans quickly and it often takes decades to be debt free, but nearly all americans are in debt.
This is why many can't return as freely as they wish, and why many are dying from stress. In the US it's difficult to become rich for a black person. If you want to be rich here you start a business and hope it work, but there are so many businesses doing so many things that have been around for literally 100-50 years and are worth billions that it's hopeless to start because they will easily crush you.
I agree with some of this apart from your statement that if you can make it in the US you can also make it in nigeria - sorry but thats bollocks.

first of all there is no way you can compare the two countries when it comes to survival - - the US provides jobs for its citizens and has a fully functional welfare system. If you are unemployed in america you wont starve or have to resort to criminal activity in order to eat, can the same be said about nigeria? people who are hard up in the US could never survive in nigeria, being hard up in the west means not having money to buy nice clothes, gadgets, meals in fancy restaurants, vacations abroad etc being hard up in nigeria means being destitute and hungry.

yes, america is not a place where you can become rich especially if you are black but there's a reason for that - america was founded by rich white slave owners and merchants the descendants of those people still run and control america - a black man can only become rich in america or europe if the white man says so, no black man in the west is rich without the white man's authorisation - why? because the white man set up the system and he runs and owns it.

In the western world the richest people are rich not due to hard work but because their great great grand parents were slave owners or merchants, the richest 1% of america own over 60% of america's wealth - these people are so powerful that they own all the banks, multinational corporations and media conglomerates, blacks only become rich in america if this group allows them to do so.

Europe is even worst. Europe is a socialist system with very high taxes that keeps anyone from being too rich or too poor. You will live in comfort in the US and Europe but it's not a land of 'wealth', it's a land of order and function.
this used to be true but times are changing - as we speak britain is dismantling the welfare state and america is also doing the same, so you will find that in a couple of years time europe and america will be exactly like nigeria where you can be either very rich or very poor and the middle class will be completely wiped out just as it was in nigeria in the 1980s following nigeria's involvement with the IMF.

Those Nigerians that make it in the US or Europe are actually a rare and special breed. They have drive, a vision, opportunity and most importantly a plan. I will say that anyone with these traits will make it in Nigeria as well. The difference is your money goes further in Nigeria than it does in the US. A person worth 1 million USD in New York can still struggle to pay bills because they're so high. If you have 5000 USD in Nigeria you can live like Jay-z half a year.
I disagree - nigeria is a corrupt country where nothing works and the rule of law is non existent as a result illiterates and bandits run the country while intellectuals, academics, inventors and innovators remain on the bottom rung of society - this is the reason why many of these kind of people have left nigeria for the western world where they can at least earn enough to pay for a roof over their heads and feed themselves and their families.

these people can not survive in nigeria because their talent and skills will never be recognised by the illiterate bandits and thugs who run nigeria also nigerians are have been brought up to think as consumers not as innovators or inventors - this is one of the main reasons why it has been so easy for the west to exploit and ra.pe nigeria.

Returnee Nigerians are Liars
Many Nigerians return from the west with sll types of clothes, new cars, and begin building homes in their villages. They create the illusion that they've 'made it', and use their return to flaunt their 'wealth' instead of helping their brethren. This is a lie. Don't believe them. These people know 2-3 years in advance they're going to Nigeria. It's then that they begin saving the money they will use to show off for December. I've know many that go to the bank and acquire loans so that they can buy objects they'll use to fake as if they're rich in Nigeria. Many will neglect their bills and debts so that they can keep up the image of someone that is rich in Nigeria. Many of the people in Nigeria flaunting are poor people.
This is the home of a Nigerian American i know
https://img2-2.timeinc.net/toh/i/g/houses/0209-radical-cheap/01-Detroit-bungalow.jpg
at least he has a roof over his head, a roof under which electricity and water runs constantly. also i'm very sure that he doesnt live in fear of armed robbers and kidnappers turning up on his doorstep.

the reason that nigerians who live abroad lie is because if they tell the truth everyone will look down on them, nigerian society is all about lies, being fake, talking big and pretending to be what you are not so it should not come as a suprise that a nigerian flying in from america or europe will do or say anything to appear as if he's a millionaire.

but they will behave as if they're Donald trump upon returning. This creates a false image that everyone in the Us, or even the majority of people have a lot of money. It's a lie. This is a very expensive place to live and most people are modest.

The Richest Nigerians are in Nigeria
As i said the place to look for wealth isn't in a new land. By the time you're done learning the customs and way things work here you'll be 50. You know Nigeria, you know the way it works, though few want to admit it you can make it in Nigeria. The richest nigerians in the world are from Nigeria, and don't bother themselves with the US. If you look at somebody like Dangote, Adenuga etc you will see they have one devious but consistent thing in common: connections to those in power. As a black person, and more importantly a Nigeria, you have to understand those in power are white and have no business bothering themselves with you. At least in Nigeria you can climb the social ladder more freely, you can't here. To become rich in America you need a great idea, something nobody has ever done before like an invention or a service and it has to make sense to the demand. If you have one of these....you'll make it in Nigeria as well.
you left out one important fact, the richest nigerians are criminals who are well connected to the bandits and rogues that run nigeria, how many rich nigerians made their money legitimately? yes you can make money in nigeria IF you have a connection and that is a big if - how many nigerians have these connections, if it were so easy to make money in nigeria why is over 70% of the population living in grim poverty?

Not Every Country is Rich, Be careful
Many people think any country with white faces is the US, and all European countries are good. BE CAREFUL this is a lie
Canada
US
UK
Australia
New Zealand

are the only country i would suggest for anyone. The rest are extremely dangerous and the people there have a hard time achieving anything due to poor economies and racism. Israel, Poland, Spain, Italy are all place that look nicer than Nigeria but suffer from the same unemployment and corruption. Many Nigerians feel they will get someone going to China not knowing that there are more unemployed Chinese than there are human beings in Nigeria. If you're not going to any of the countries on the list, don't waste your time. Many are going to places more corrupt and downtrodden than Nigeria like Russia where the poor remain poor for ever and the rich are rich forever. more importantly DO YOUR RESEARCH. I recently had a friend go to Yemen. Yemen is not only poorer than Nigeria but is one of the worlds more war torn nations. Many nigerians will go somewhere without knowing the name of the countries president. Not every oyibo country is 'ala beke'. Many might as well be in Africa. Be careful!
funny how you mentioned the poor remaining poor forever and the rich remaining rich forever in russia - isnt that exactly how nigeria is?

what you've said is true but this only highlights the fact that if we want our country to be a place worth living we have to make sacrifices ie get rid of those bandits who have reduced us to beggars in our own land.

OBASANJO: THE STORY OF A WESTERN PUPPET AND CIA LACKEY -

Background to the recent Nigerian elections
General Obasanjo more than just a "friend" of the Americans
By Elizabeth Liagin
17 March 1999

Elizabeth Liagin is an independent journalist who has done extensive research into General Olusegan Obasanjo, who won the recent presidential election in Nigeria. She submitted the following commentary in response to the 5 March article "Nigerian election fraud leaves elite in control" by Chris Talbot
The 13 February 1976 assassination of Murtala Muhammad, which brought Olusegan Obasanjo to power the first time, was widely believed at the time to be the linked to the CIA. Perhaps the same might be said for the 27 February 1999 "coup" as well.
Obasanjo is more than just a "friend" of the Americans. He is an operative. And his involvement with America's foreign policy elite is a long, sometimes complicated, but delightfully interesting story.
There are several key persons and institutions that appear over and over in the Obasanjo files. One is Donald B. Easum, who was the United States Ambassador to Nigeria at the time of the 1976 assassination. Another is the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, where Henry Kissinger, who was Secretary of State at the time of the same assassination, serves as a "counsellor." Then we have Robert S. McNamara, a former World Bank president and the Secretary of Defense who carried much of the blame for the Vietnam War. More recently, McNamara embarked on an excursion to Haiti in the aftermath of the election that brought Jean Bertrand Aristide to office. Upon his return, McNamara pronounced Aristide "vehemently" anti-US, implying that the United States would be in for another round of whatever it was that Fidel Castro stirred up in people after his revolution more than two decades before. Within a year of McNamara's assessment, Aristide was ousted by thugs on the CIA's payroll.
Back to the seventies: At the time of the coup that installed Obasanjo, the US was still reeling from the OPEC oil embargo. That action would have been all the more devastating were it not for the fact that Nigeria, under Yakubu Gowon's leadership, had opted to breach the embargo and ship oil to the West. Because of the inflated price petroleum commanded at the time, Nigeria experienced unprecedented economic growth. When Murtala took over, the US immediately became concerned, not knowing if Nigeria could be relied upon as a supplier under a new regime. In an attempt to soften up the anti-Western ideology associated with Murtala, Secretary of State Kissinger proposed a state visit. Murtala told him to stay home--something interpreted in Washington as a "ten" on the scale by which political insults are ranked.
In the months after Murtala took over in July of 1975, cables between Washington and Lagos increased in number almost five-fold. That in itself is an indicator of heightened political interest that goes beyond the mere arrival of a new administration. Some of those cables have been released via the Freedom of Information Act, and although they may not be entirely conclusive, they certainly suggest a US role in the assassination that brought Obasanjo to power in 1976.
