here is what the real citizens of the country think about america's imperialist wars not wanna be americans like wallie who are so desperate to be accepted into mainstream american society:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0MRLj4qTbU4&feature=related

wallie your low self esteem and desperation to be more american than the actual american people is so embarrassing and pathetic - you are only in america because african immigrants are cheaper to hire and fire than american citizens, this is why the us visa lottery was introduced - its nothing but a way to recruit cheap skilled and semi skilled workers from africa so snap out of your delusional state of mind as you are very very expendable to america now that unemployment amongst american people is rising at an alarming rate.

Wallie: Bidemi are you new on NL? The guy you're talking to is nicknamed cap-the-fraustrated! The guy is long gone! I honestly thought the guy jumped off the London bridge to end it all when I stopped seeing posts about his conspiracies. The guy couldn't make way in UK for one reason or another and probably got denied US visa but he's too ashamed to go back to Naija, hence, his frustration! I'm willing to bet the guy is schizophrenic.
haha - look at this idi.ot who has been driving a cab in america for over 20 years pretending to be a success in america - why is it that you losers think that america is the promised land? Let me repeat it so that this time it sinks into your skull i am a british passport holder and therefore do not need a visa to visit america, not all of us are bowled over by the propaganda and lies that the american media uses to bamboozle dumb starry eyed fools like you - i know that living in america is the best thing that could have ever happened to you but for some of us who were actually born and raised in the west its no big deal.

kashmo: You are so damn wrong and out of order for that statement! The US Army is very strict on Equal Oppurnity complains and racism still persists, but I can tell you first hand that the US Amry has a zero tolerance when cases like this arises.
zero tolerance my a.rse! so why was the white soldier only given a four year prison sentence for attempted murder and why was he even allowed to get close to the then us presidential candidate john mccain (during an official engagement) while still being investigated for the attempted murder of his black colleague?

kashmo: Okay, I had to jump on this matter. I've read couple comments made here & they just don't add up to what the US Army stands for. You've to be in the Organistaion to understand the ins and out of it, and what i see from folks here are opinions plucked out of thin air.
And this goes to you Cap28, how the heck did you come up with that statement about the US Army being filled with Rapist, Drug Addicts and Gang Members?
The modern US army: unfit for service?
Gone are the days of the all-American army hero. These days, the US military is more like a sanctuary for racists, gang members and the chronically unfit

My journey into the dark underworld of the US military begins on a rainy Tuesday morning in March 2008, with a visit to Tampa, Florida. I am here to meet Forrest Fogarty, an American patriot who served in the US army for two years in Iraq. Fogarty is also a white supremacist of the serious Hitler-worshipping type.

Fogarty was not the first extremist to enter the armed forces. The neo-Nazi movement has had a long and tense relationship with the US military. Since its inception, the leaders of the white supremacist movement have encouraged their members to enlist. They see it as a way for their followers to receive combat and weapons training, courtesy of the US government, and then to bring what they learn home to undertake a domestic race war. Not all far-right groups subscribe to this vision – some, such as the Ku Klux Klan, claim to prefer a democratic approach – but a large portion see themselves as insurrectionary forces. To that end, professional training in warfare is a must.

The US military has long been aware of these groups' attempts at infiltration, but it wasn't until 1996 that supremacist and neo-Nazi groups were specifically banned from the military, after the murder in 1995 of two African-Americans by a neo-Nazi paratrooper stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Fogarty was recruited the year after.

He knew that the tattoo he had riding up his forearm could be a problem when it came to enlistment. In a neo-Nazi underworld obsessed with secrecy, racist tattoos remain one of the clearest indicators of extremism for a recruiter, and in an effort to police the matter, the US military requires recruits to explain any tattoos. "They just told me to write an explanation of each tattoo and I made up some stuff and that was that," he says.

Soon after Fogarty was approved, his ex-girlfriend and mother of his eldest child contacted the military. According to Fogarty, she sent a dossier of pictures to his military command that showed him at white supremacist and neo-Nazi rallies, as well as performing his racist rock with Attack. "They hauled me before some sort of committee, and showed me the pictures. I just denied it." The committee, he says, "knew what I was about, but they let it go because I'm a great soldier".

Fogarty remained in the reserves, until finally, in 2004, he was sent where he had always wanted to go: Iraq. Before he left for the Middle East, he joined the Hammerskin Nation – described by the Anti-Defamation League as the "the most violent and best-organised neo-Nazi skinhead group in the United States".

Fogarty maintains that a good portion of those around him were aware of his neo-Nazism. "They all knew in my unit," he says. "They would always kid around and say, 'Hey, you're that skinhead!'" He was confident enough of his carte blanche from the military that during his break from service in 2004, he flew not to see his family in the US but to Dresden, Germany, to give a concert to 2,500 skinheads, on the army's budget.

The degree of impunity encountered by Fogarty and countless other extremists has caused tensions within the military. The blind eye turned by the recruiters angered many investigators whose integrity was being compromised. Hunter Glass was a paratrooper in the 1980s and became a gang cop in 1999 in Fairville, North Carolina, next to Fort Bragg. "In the 1990s, the military was hard on them, they could pick and choose," he recalls. The change came after 9/11. "The key rule nowadays is ignore it until it becomes a problem," Glass tells me. "We need manpower. So as long as the man isn't acting out, let's blow it off." He recounts one episode in early 2005 when he was requested by military police investigators at Fort Bragg to interview a soldier with blatant skinhead insignia – SS lightning bolts and hammers. Glass worked with the base's military police investigators, who filed a report. "They recommended that he be kicked out," he recalls, "but the commanding officers didn't do anything." He says there was an open culture of impunity. "We're seeing guys with tattoos all the time ... As far as hunting them down, I don't see it. I'm seeing the opposite, where if a white supremacist has committed a crime, the military stance will be, 'He didn't commit a race-related crime.

biodunid: Yes o. This is some poor sap paid less than my tax contributions to BRF but who is so overwhelmed by the goodness of the massah that he can't help Uncle Tomming himself all over this thread. Abi no be same US soldiers who leave the army to squat on the streets? That's what he left his fatherland to go and do - gunslinger for a demented and crumbling empire? This is what 30 years of NPN, IBB, Abacha and PDP have turned this nation into - a country whose young people are inordinately proud of lying, fighting, cheating and dying to get into the slave boats. Most have never known a different naija so one can't even get across to them the craziness of the whole situation. Those who do una like this no go die well.
thank you bros.

the level of ignorance among our people is really frightening - imagine being proud to be engaged in a war for a race of people who have historically done nothing but persecute and abuse your own people, even the african americans who have lived with white americans for centuries are now realising that joining the US military is of no benefit to them whatsoever, but for a nigerian to go joining the US military, what the fck for? you are just a dispensable black pawn and nothing more - but bros you are right this is the fault of the successive nigerian govts that have continued to fail the youth in this country, or else why would any sane nigerian go and join a foreign army. As you correctly said it can be equated to a black african voluntarily jumping into the slave ship and having the temerity to brag and boast about it instead of being ashamed.

i hope you will be as dimissive as this if a white racist american soldier "accidentally" discharges a few rounds of ammunition into your neck leaving you paralysed from the waist down.
i heard the us military is full of mentally unhinged neo nazis who just love killing foreigners so if i were you i'd watch my back and i dont give a damn whether your brigade CSM is black because at the end of the day they have no power within the us military hierarachy as they simply follow orders from the top which as you know is run by whites.

klax: You got the point right I know America very well this is where I lived for so many years they would not do anything of such without something to gain in their mind. American Slogan is "THEY DONT INVEST WHERE THEY HAVE NOTHING TO GAIN" after they have created the highest servicemen widows in the world now where else would they go to get more widows, they choosed my own tribe and Hausa out of so many tribes in Nigeria so does that mean we are more orless a waste material or waste human beign or whathuh? Why cant they mention Tiv? Why not Yoruba? Why not Edohuh, Why not Igalahuh Why Ijawhuh Are these people not a native speakers as well so why Igbo and Hausa why and whyhuhhuh? still my own people are dancing in this foolishness without asking a question please guys wake up this is an insult to Igbo or Hausa if US want kill more people or get more widows they can go Azerbaijan or French speaking whatever good for them. I beg my leave pls this so annoying indeed.
the sad thing is the US are not investing anything in nigeria all they are doing is using our able bodied men and women as cannon fodder in a war that we will not benefit from in any way. you can see from the statistics i posted up there that african americans no longer want to be used as pawns so now the US govt decides to turn to their usual pawns - nigerians - nigerians are so in awe of america that they can't even tell when they are being used, can you imagine how they must be laughing at us now seeing us fighting over who should be allowed to go and die for them?
Politics › Re: Why US Army Is Recruiting Hausa, Igbo by cap28: 4:24pm On Nov 03, 2012
This is probably one of the reasons that the US is now recruiting africans to go and die for them:

(November 2005) Since virtually the beginning of the all-volunteer U.S. military in 1973, African Americans have enlisted for service in the armed forces at much higher levels than their percentage of the total U.S. population. After reaching a high of 28 percent in 1979, black enlistment levels hovered around 20 percent until 2000.

But the past five years have seen a drop in overall African American enlistment levels that has reduced black participation in the armed forces to percentages not seen since 1973. Black enlistment rates in the Army (see Figure 1) and the Marines have declined precipitously since 2000. These trends may spell trouble for the Army, which has depended on blacks to meet its recruiting goals and reenlistment targets.
african americans are fed up with being used as cannon fodder in america's imperialist wars around the globe

COOLDUN: Look at this Zombie, your country and USA which one is most plagued and punished by God and nature? Keep on deceiving yourselves, your government alone is more than all the punishment suffered by the USA since their existence, if it is your tribesmen that was quoted here now, we wouldn’t have our peace to your boastings of being the most educated and dynamic tribe in Africa, it has become a crime and curse to the US people for recruiting solders who volunteered to join their Army, from other two preferred tribes in Nigeria.

This same cursed US now fought with British Army for Nigerian Army to bring back the Biafra country back to Nigeria, which you people hailed and blessed even prayed to God, for their success, today the same God is the one cursing them with Hurricane. God give problems according to our capacities, if 1% of the natural disaster that befell the US happens in Nigeria, honestly your country will be a forgotten in a minute.

If God cursed America with Hurricane, then what will call the recent floods that almost consumed the whole Nigeria? Imagine someone in hell fire mocking someone that is in the Paradise. Anyway it is Nigeria mentality, suffering and smiling. USA, have regretted their involvement in the Nigeria civil war, now they are in their right senses, once beaten twice shy. Don’t mock the USA people with the natural disaster, because your country is in a mess.
First of all the United States is one of the most divided and racist nations in the western world and it creates the conditions that lead many poor blacks and hispanics in that country to get drafted into their military, if you live in the american ghettoes surrounded by violence, destitution, drug dealers and prostitution with no hope of ever getting out of it due to the entrenched institutionalised racism that permeates every layer of american society ie the schools, the employment and judicial systems etc joing the US army starts to look like a very attractive option indeed even if you might not live to come back to tell your story.

Also just as black americans and hispanics join the army in order to get away from poverty in their community created by the us govt that is the same way nigerians run away from nigeria to get away from the poverty created by the us owned IMF and world bank in nigeria- therefore you need to recognise that this US that you idolise is the architect of the suffering of many nigerians just as it is for black americans.

with regard to the US's role in the nigeria /biafra civil war - yes they fought on the side of their ally - Britain who armed, funded and trained their northern puppets to prevent the secession of biafra but why did the americans chose to side with a group of murderers who had already carried out unprovoked attacks against thousands of igbos in the north, i thought america beleives in freedom and democracy - why didnt they come to the aid of the persecuted biafrans ? could it be because they stood to gain more by siding with their british allies because of the stake they had in the oil region which was under the control of britain?

You see one thing you have failed to understand is that these americans and europeans do not see us as human beings they only see our resources, america joined forces with britain because it was in their interest to keep oil rich niger delta under the control of the nigerian northern oligarcy (aka nigeria) because that is the only way they would have full control over those resources, it had nothign to do with them beleiving in the unity of the nigerian people - they couldnt care less about nigeria or its people - all they wanted was for the oil to be under the control of the leaders that were originally chosen by britain.

if you still do not beleive what ive said about the role america played during the nigerian civil war try reading Henry Kissinger's memoirs (former national security adviser under Nixon) read the chapter about how Kissinger received daily updates on the number of igbo children that were dying of starvation as a result of the economic blockade imposed on biafra following instructions from britain .

read about how Kissinger chose to do nothing in the face of all of this tragedy - you know why? BECAUSE IT WAS NOT IN THE INTEREST OF THE UNITED STATES TO GO AGAINST BRITAIN'S POSTION - you better wake up and understand that we black people are nothign more than pawns in their hands they do not care about us and never will.

with regard to the posters comment about the hurricane im inclined to agree - when you commit so much evil against innocent people in this world brace yourself for your own punishment because it will be so deadly that people around you will begin to wonder what you did to invoke such fury from the gods.
Politics › Re: Why US Army Is Recruiting Hausa, Igbo by cap28: 1:05pm On Nov 03, 2012
Any Igbo or hausa person st.upid enough to get drafted into the US military in order to assist america with her ongoing imperialist wars of grand theft of the natural resources of defenceless countries all over the world should be ready for the consequences

Someone very correctly stated that black americans made up the highest number of casualties in the vietnam war as majority of them were placed in the line of fire. America is gearing up for their planned attack on Iran and they know that it won't be a walk in the park - who better to use as cannon fodder than africans who still havent understood that america is not their friend?

Also americans are fully aware of the enmity that exists between igbos and hausas and therefore they will use this to their advantage, what better way to exploit two enemies by getting them to spy on each other and then use the information they willingly disclose to you for your own benefit? sounds exactly like what used to go on during slavery when slaves used to fight each other to get massa's love.

of course uncle sam is only interested in keeping nigeria in a permanent state of instability and dysfunction and they will be able to maximise this when they know what both opposing sides in the ongoing (US intelligence created) north vs south destabilisation project are up to.

america knows its days of empire are coming to a close but it will not go down without a fight, just as Britain used africans to fight against Hitler in the second world war in order to hold on to their empire that is the same way the americans will use africans gullible enough to go and die for them in iraq, libya or iran.

You've got to give it to these americans though - they create the poverty and despair that causes many of these soldiers to join their army in the first place. These soldiers are then used to fight and take over resource rich countries under the guise of fighting terrorism - why is it that terrorist activity only occurs in resource rich countries? Iraq was once one of the richest countries in the arab world with a standard of living so high that they were the envy of other arab nations - what did america do - it went in there and smashed the country to pieces, libya - once had the highest standard of living in africa - look at it now. With african countries the americans dont even need to resort to war because all african heads of state are cowards with the exception of Mugabe - what they cant do to you with economic sanctions they will surely do with debt enslavement and if you are still not towing the line - war which is why Iran is now in america's crosshairs.

carefreewannabe: I understand that they tested black children living in a white society.
did they also have control groups?
would black children growing up in a society that is mainly black react differently?
how would white children react?
just curious.
i dont know what you mean by control groups.

i dont know how black children growing up in a mainly black society would react to such a test as no such test to my knowledge has been undertaken in a black dominated country but if those black children who live in a black dominated environment were to be exposed to the same negative images that blacks in europe and america are exposed to by way of the media then i am tempted to beleive that this might affect their self image.

for example jamaica is a black dominated society but the black people there place more value on light skinned people in their country like the chinese, mixed race and indians than the pure black jamaicans who make up 93% of the population.

so at the end of the day its not about the population of blacks but their mentality and western influences.
Family › Re: Is Low Self Esteem A Result Of Parental Upbringing Or Personality? by cap28: 11:14pm On Nov 02, 2012
low self esteem arises as a result of lack of love and support from parents and it is exacerbated when the child lives within a society or culture that does not value people from his or her background. for example if a black child grows up with a lot of neglect and lack of emotional support from their parents they are definitely going to have a very poor image of themselves, because that child has never known what love is and if you have never been shown love you can not have love for yourself neither can you give love as you dont know how to. The problem is further worsened when that same child grows up in a place like europe or america where blacks are routinely degraded and devalued by white society as a whole and the western media in constantly projects negative images of black people all over their media. Take a look at an experiment that was carried out in america to determine whether black children suffer from low esteem -they were shown a black doll and a white doll and they were asked to pick the one they felt was more beautiful and intelligent - time and time again these preschool black kids kept picking up the white doll when asked about positive traits and the black doll when asked about negative traits - what does that tell you? surely if you grow up in an environment where it is pounded into your head day in and day out that you are worthless you will eventually see yourself as worthless.

Faced With Much Racism from White America and its Media –Including New York Times --

Venus and Serena Williams Can Still Be Victorious.

By ODIMUMBA KWAMDELA (J. Ashton Brathwaite)

Like so many societal ills that are showered with society’s hypocrisy of great change for the better, it can be said of the game of professional tennis also, “The more things change, the more they remain the same.” This is especially so as it pertains to the way white Americans and their media view the “intrusion” into the game by Venus and Serena Williams, two African-Americans, and demonstrating their ability to be dominant. So much resentment to their presence by whites have been shown to beg the question, which in the last few year has been viewed as a problem of greater concern to some white Americans, the possibility of a terrorist attack on some major American cities or that of the Williams sisters returning to the tennis arena and making as strong an impact as they were doing not long ago, or as Serena did recently at the 2007 Australian Open after being away for sometime due to injuries, as is still the case with Venus? And what if their success rate equals that of the past?

It is common knowledge internationally regarding the obsession of white Americans with American athletes coming out on top in all sporting events in which they compete. It is manifested in their endless boisterous ranting of “USA, USA, USA, USA,” and their constant waving of the Stars and Stripes in miniature to giant sizes. Sometimes it seems overdone to the point of being seen more an act of embarrassment than an act of patriotism. But their reaction to Venus and Serena on the way to victory – being victorious – is so conspicuously different. It must be said that their reaction to other African-Americans victorious in other sports such as track and field, basketball, baseball and football does not come so ugly. But it must be said also that African-Americans were once banned from these sports on the mainstream level, and when finally they were grudgingly allowed to, a precious few , one or two at a time, they were racially humiliated in the worst way. The fact that over the years they worked their way up to being the dominant force in these sports obviously means they cannot now be mistreated or wished away. In the game of tennis, however, the idea of it being a white game still strongly persists. Before the Williams sisters only two other African-Americans playing it made their presence felt: Althea Gibson in the 1950s and Arthur Ashe in the 1970s. They were not exactly welcomed, either. Maybe because they did not seem to be as threatening as the Williams sisters. Other African-Americans who entered the arena were not regarded as being able to change the complexion of the game at the top to the point badly denting the idea of this almost-lone game dominated by whites going through a dramatic change racially as did others. Undoubtedly, the Williams Sisters seemed most capable of paving the road to such a transformation.

Admittedly, white Americans tended not to consistently boo the Williams sisters when they were dominating white players from any white nations. Their silence, though, could be likened to that expected in a graveyard at midnight. But their hypocrisy would be shamelessly exposed whenever any white competitor seemed to be getting the upper hand of the Williams sisters, for they would react with great euphoria.

There was a time when Venus and Serena were subjected to frequent bad-mouthing from white competitors who thought it was somehow detrimental to them that both sisters were competing in the same tournaments. If questioned about their comments, they would ease themselves out of the situation and shift the blame to Daddy Williams, who did the unexplainable and coached his two daughters from nothing to success outside of the regular system, on public tennis courts, claiming he was too much of a showoff, too arrogant. Thinking of their trials, is it not a cause to wonder if their often absence from competition might be attributed to this? Not belittling their courage – for Venus especially seems to have a lot of this – but it does take tremendous amounts of courage in the face of constant adversity to hold one’s ground like Muhammad Ali – or the first Black heavyweight champion Jack Johnson many years earlier – elected to do.

It is obviously not a case of a loss of desire among white Americans for the prevailing of American domination but that it would be much more satisfying to them if white competitors would be the ones responsible for bringing about this domination. For it would then make it so much easier to associate with America that responsibility generated by the likes of the Williams Sisters.

Once the proven excellent ability of the Williams sisters made that transformation up from the category of good potential, the white media became a part of this hypocrisy. Articles regularly portrayed them as two Black girls on whom Mother Nature had bestowed extra physical powers to which fragile white girls would inevitably capitulate; they were said to be overly muscular. The same attitudes directed at (Australian) Aborigine tennis player Evonne Goolagong in the 1970s when she dominated any favored white competitor, white spectators and their media not perceiving then, either, of a lowly Aborigine girl with this required ability; hence exhibited their intolerance for such. Goolagon was no more physically imposing than some of her white competitors.

There are those among the competitors of the Williams sisters who are physically bigger. At six feet tall, Venus is not only shorter than some, but also slimmer. American Lindsay Davenport stands two inches over six feet. France’s Mauresma about the same. The same is true of some of the Russian competitors. Sharapova, for instance, is taller than all. Serena is a few inches under six feet. She is a few pounds heavier than some, but to judge her honestly for being overweight or for possessing the very curvaceous and voluptuous body many females wished they possessed, and even more men salivate over, she would be judged by the latter.

well im a bit disappointed at what they said because they should have shown more eagerness to be associated with their ancestral land, the fact remains that as long as they are black they will never be accorded the same level of respect that famous white american tennis players are accorded in america.

I know how badly they have been treated by the british and american media simply because of the fact that they are black despite all of their acheivements and it is only because they are just such fantastic players that the whites have grudgingly accepted them - there are even instances where their fellow white americans will rather support a european tennis player rather than support them solely because of the fact that they are black so they should remember that when the chips are down the average white american does not value them the way they value people like John McEnroe, Billie Jean King and Andre Agassi.

Anyway hopefully they will retrace their steps and try to forge links with not just nigeria but other countries in africa, because africans are the only people that will accord them the kind of respect they truly deserve.
