Ilekokonit: Come to think of it, the article stated that she was battling depression as well. So, given that Largactil is used to treat depression and that some Naija Doctors are prone to giving drug overdose plus the fact that an overdose of Largactil will lead to the patient displaying the same symptoms of Parkinsons (trembling hands and feet and total lack of co-ordination of body movement) THEN its either a case of 4 things :-
1) She had Parkinsons in her all along which is doubtful going by her videos on youtube
OR
2) The Naija Doctors "accidentally", "carelessly" or "deliberately" gave her an overdose of Largactil (in which case a spinal tap and CSF analysis will reveal Largactil overdose as the culprit and then the "artificially induced" Parkinsons can be corrected with drugs that counter the effects of the Largactil overdose)
OR
3) The CIC is fed up of her cantankerous behaviour (both in private and in public) and wanted to calm her down or teach her a lesson.
OR
4) She is going through a serious episode of depression and our CIC through illiteracy is "ashamed" of this fact and chooses to hide the fact from us not knowing that depression is a "treatable" common illness the world over and nothing to be ashamed of.

Whatever the case maybe, the truth will surface very soon.
grin grin grin grin grin grin

Look, who gives a monkey's about this woman, i dont know why nigerians are so jobless.

If this woman is suffering from parkinson's then i am the pope!

there is nothing degenerative about this woman's appearance, movement or posture. my suspicion is that GEJ is now tired of her and is looking for a way to do away with her, hence her prolonged absence from public activities. the embarrasment of having her around has finally taken its toll on him and he can no longer stomach being seen with her in public - GEJ sycophants you can take it or leave - this man is now looking for an upgrade. perhaps omo "sexy" could apply for the job of first lady since her husband is now unemployed.......

pak: Please posters should first try to get their facts right before trying to educate the rest of us.

As for the word 'picnic', you can check the TRUE etymology here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Picnic#Etymology

And for those giving false tales about the origin of the word in question -Truth is the word Nigger originated from the latin word 'Niger' for black. The same place you got the name of your country from
thanks for pointing out the etymology of the word picnic - but see below how the word picnic came to be linked with the barbaric act of lynching in america - this information is from the Jim Crow museum of racist memorabilia which i would like to regard as an authoritative source of information about slavery and white supremacy in america:

other than that everything else i have posted is accurate.

Blacks, Picnics and Lynchings

January 2004

Q: Is it true that the word picnic originally came from the word pick-a-nig or pick-a-nigger? Apparently, a black person was randomly "picked" and hanged for the entertainment of whites. The whites, including families, ate from box lunches while enjoying the barbaric act. If this is true we should stop using the word picnic, replacing it with outing or gathering.

-- Sarah James, Baltimore, Maryland

A: Your question has several components; we will address each component. The etymology of the word picnic does not suggest racist or racial overtones. Picnic was originally a 17th Century French word, picque-nique. Its meaning was similar to today's meaning: a social gathering where each attendee brings a share of the food. The French piquer may have referred to a leisurely style of eating ("pick at your food"wink or it may, simply, have meant, "pick" (pic). The nique was probably a silly rhyming compound (as in English words like hoity-toity), but may have referred to an obsolete word meaning "a trifle." The literal meaning of picque-nique, which became our picnic, is "each pick a bit." A 1692 edition of Origines de la Langue Francoise de Menage mentions pique-nique. This suggests that the word had been used for some time in France. The term picnic does not appear in the English language until around 1800. 1

It is clear that picnic was not derived from "pick-a-nigger," "pick-a-nig," or similar racist phrases. However, some of the almost 4,000 blacks who were lynched between 1882 and 1962 were lynched in settings that are appropriately described as picnic-like. Phillip Dray, a historian, stated: "Lynching was an undeniable part of daily life, as distinctly American as baseball games and church suppers. Men brought their wives and children to the events, posed for commemorative photographs, and purchased souvenirs of the occasion as if they had been at a company picnic." 2 Bray did not exaggerate. At the end of the 19th century, Henry Smith, a mentally challenged 17-year-old black male, was accused of killing a white girl. Before a cheering crowd of hundreds, Smith was made to sit on a "parade float" drawn by four white horses. The float circled numerous times before the excited crowd tortured, then burned Smith alive. 3 After the lynching the crowd celebrated and collected body parts as souvenirs.

Often the lynch mob acted with haste, but on other occasions the lynching was a long-drawn out affair with speeches, food-eating, and, unfortunately, ritualistic and sadistic torture: victims were dragged behind cars, pierced with knives, burned with hot irons or blowtorches, had their fingers and toes cut off, had their eyes cut out, and were castrated -- all before being hanged or burned to death. One Mississippi newspaper referred to these gruesome acts as "Negro barbeques." 4

In many cases -- arguably in most cases -- lynch mobs had a particular target and confined their heinous aggression to a specific person. Blacks were lynched for a variety of accusations, ranging from murder, and rape (often not true), to trying to vote, and arguing with a white man. In 1938, a white man in Oxford, Mississippi declared that it was "about time to have another lynching. When the niggers get so they are not afraid of being lynched, it is time to put the fear in them." 5 There were many blacks lynched randomly, to send a message of white supremacy to black communities. As noted by Dominic J. Capeci, a historian, when it came to lynching, "one black man served as well as another." 6

We often think of a mob as an insane, bloodthirsty collection of adult male ruffians. However, respectable community leaders, including police, often lynched blacks. Although women and children were not typically the active aggressors they were often in the audience; and, they, too, celebrated. There were "secret lynches," but there were many done publicly -- and planned. Of course, news of an impending lynching traveled fast. Lynching was a brutal attempt to reinforce white supremacy, but it was also entertainment -- and food was present. According to Dray:

"While attendees at lynchings did not take away a plate of food, the experience of having witnessed the event was thought incomplete if one did not go home with some piece of cooked human being; and there is much anecdotal evidence of lynch crowds either consuming food and drink while taking part in the execution, or retiring en masse immediately afterward for a meal or, in the case of a notorious immolation in Pennsylvania in 1911, ice cream sundaes." 7

In 1903 a black man was lynched in Greenville, Mississippi. A white writer said, "Everything was very orderly, there was not a shot, but much laughing and hilarious excitemen... It was quite a gala occasion, and as soon as the corpse was cut down all the crowd betook themselves to the park to see a game of baseball." 8

The claim that the word picnic derived from lynching parties has existed in Black American communities for many years. Although many contemporary etymologists smugly dismiss this claim, it should be noted that there is a kernel of truth in this month's question. 9 The word picnic did not begin with the lynching of black Americans; however, the lynching of blacks often occurred in picnic-like settings.
Interesting.
And you have a point but considering i know the way the world works any and every white man is not in the position to remind me of anything. Lol. This is why they cant offend me with nigger. The average white man is broke (pinching pennies), struggling and a victim of the system like everyone else.

Most of them were descendants of scottish and irish slaves. Slaves to their own kind, moors and arabs alike. So any white man who tries to use that on me will be laughed at, as his efforts like the white superemacy movement is an epic fail.tongue
Have you heard of white privilege? thats where a white man or woman no matter how poor and down and out still has access to better opportunities in life than any black person irrespective of that black person's status. Thats where a white person dressed like a tramp can walk into a shop and not get followed around by the shop assistant or looked at suspiciously but where a well dressed black man will not only get followed around but treated shabbily by the same shop assistant. this is why poor whites in america vote republican rather than vote for a black democrat even though republicans despise poor people of all races because being white and identifying with successful whites even if it is not in your interest to do so confers a feeling of superiority on you as a white person.

In the 1600s in america poor whites frrom ireland and scotland worked alongside blacks as indentured servants - both were equal at that time, however when they started protesting about their working conditions they were separated and that is where the whole concept of blacks as an inferior race was created. white workers were given special privileges and told that the blacks were inferior and blacks were subjected to much harsher working conditions and punished severly if they refused to obey orders. whites accepted their elevated position in the new order and never ever joined forces with the blacks to fight against the rich plantation owners and merchants ever again - this system remains in place today and is known as white privilege.

John Lennon and his wife Yoko Ono even wrote a song called "woman is the nigger of the world" where they equate the oppression women suffer at the hands of men to the world wide oppression that blacks suffer at the hands of whites:

Woman Is The Nigger Of The World lyrics
Songwriters: Ono, Yoko; Lennon, John;

Woman is the nigger of the world
Yes, she is, think about it
Woman is the nigger of the world
Think about it, do something about it

We make her paint her face and dance
If she won't be a slave, we say that she don't love us
If she's real, we say she's trying to be a man
While puttin' her down, we pretend that she's above us

You know, woman is the nigger of the world, yeah
If you don't believe me, take a look at the one you're with
Woman is the slave to the slave
Ah, yeah, if you believe me, scream about it

We make her bear and raise our children
And then we leave her flat for being a fat old mother hen
We tell her, home is the only place she should be
Then we complain that she's too unworldly to be our friend

Well, now, woman is the nigger of the world, yeah, she is

If you don't believe me, take a look at the one you're with
Woman is the slave to the slave
Yeah, if you believe me, you better scream

We insult her every day on TV
And wonder why she has no guts or confidence
When she's young we kill her will to be free
This is the one that I can never remember
But you get the message anyway

You know that woman is the nigger of the world
Yes, she is, if you don't believe me, take a look at the one you're with
Woman is the slave to the slave
Yeah, Connely was right, we scream it

We make her paint her face and dance
We make her paint her face and dance
We make her paint her face and dance

You know, we make her paint her face and dance
Dance, dance, dance, dance, dance, dance
We make her paint her face and dance

when a white man uses the word nigger on a black man he is reminding you of your inferior status and the fact that he has had his foot on your neck for the past 500 years, he is reminding you of how his ancestors ra.ped your mother, wife, grandmother and sisters, he is reminding you of how his ancestors lynched you for fun and sat around with their mates laughing and eating while your lifeless body (thats where the world picnic - pick a nigger, came from) hung from a tree or burnt at the stake, he is reminding you of your zero status and powerlessness in the world order, he is reminding you that YOU COME TO HIM FOR JOBS, HOUSING, EDUCATION AND SURVIVAL , a black man can use the word nigger on another black person but it will never ever conjure up the terrible and hateful memories of slavery, ra.pe and lynching that that word connote because the black man in recent times has remained powerless.

a white man's use of the word nigger is a reminder to you the black man that you are still beneath him - it is a way of showing you how contemptuous he is of you and everythign you stand for.

Wikipedia definition of Nigger:

Nigger is a noun in the English language, most notable for its usage in a pejorative context to refer to black people, and also as an informal slang term, among other contexts. It is a common ethnic slur, usually directed at people of Sub-Saharan African descent and suggests that its target is extremely unsophisticated. The word originated as a term used in a neutral context to refer to black people, as a variation of the Spanish/Portuguese noun negro, a descendant of the Latin adjective niger ("color black"wink.[1]

Chaos is all around us now..our children are being brainwashed daily by western styled educational principles, foreigners are buying up our lands. Our food is processed with dangerous chemicals so as to debilitate the health of the people even further. Chemtrails are sprayed in our skies to control the weather to cause environmental instability. But the gullible prefer to be complacent. How sad!!
very well said- but many are still in a deep slumber and will remain in that state until they are forced to face up to reality.

my favourite nigerian historian chinweizu elucidates more on the criminal contraption known as nigeria here:
This Lugardist state nowadays parades itself as a federal republic and ademocracy. But it is neither federal nor republic. And its democracy is allfake. So,
what is Nigeria actually?
Nigeria is a prison camp into which British soldiers, merchants, missionariesand political agents herded the peoples of the assorted villages, towns, statelets, kingdoms and empires they had, between 1850 and 1914,conquered by force or fraudulently dispossessed of sovereignty. The herdingprocess was begun by Sir George Goldie, and was finalized by Sir FrederickLugard in 1914 when he set up this Lugardist state apparatus to control theprisoner-of-war camp which he named Nigger Area, or Nigeria. What Lugard, the founding father of Nigeria, set up was a despotism to serve Britishinterests, an instrument of the British monarch, for the subjugation, exploitation and control by terrorism of the captive population, for the profitof the British. This despotism of the British monarch was handed over, in1960, to comprador agents recruited from among the black inmates of theprison camp. The original state imposed by Lugard has never beendisbanded and reconstituted by the population. It lives on under blackmanagement, and has continued to behave despotically towards thepopulation it got into its absolute power long ago. After all, none of its so-called constitutions has been submitted to the population for approval. As
John Locke stated in his ―Second Treatise of Government‖ (1690):
He who attempts to get another man into his absolute powerdoes thereby put himself into a state of war with him: it being tobe understood as a declaration of a design upon his life.We can, therefore, see that this Lugardist state contraption has been makingwar on us, the victim population which it got into its absolute power acentury ago.It should not, therefore, surprise us that, since its agents see us as prisonersof war, they extort from us and plunder us at every opportunity. And theykill us with impunity whenever they feel the itch to shoot. And to keep uscowed and discourage rebellion they go on pacification sprees in which theymassacre whole towns and villages. So, you see, there is a method to the madness of the ‗mad dogs‘ at Odi and Zaki
-Biam, and to the accidentaldischarges at Apo and countless checkpoints. These are random acts of stateterrorism that are calculated to instil fear in the population and keep us insecure and passive.

dasparrow: You see now. I hope all Nigerians and Africans get to read this. I am just speechless because I am pained. My generation and future generations suffered and will continue to suffer because of what this evil British heifers did. Our leaders continue to kiss the azz of the Americans and British. You have Nigerians that will go as far as defend these westerners with their last breath yet will never defend their own country or citizens. My soul weeps. Look at where we are now. We have many young Nigerians looking to flee to the western world daily where we get mocked, insulted, looked down upon, ridiculed, discriminated against and striped off our dignity when we could have had a great nation where our people will feel happy and fulfilled and would never want to migrate abroad permanently.

I will keep praying for Nigeria and Africa as a whole. We must rise again but that can only happen if Nigerians have a change in mindset and stop carrying about with them this unnecessary feeling of inferiority complex. Once we become great again, other nations will respect us and stop treating us like trash. When the western and Arab world begins to see that we are not interested in their visas anymore, they will be the ones crawling on all fours begging to give us visas. It shall be well with us Nigerians.
I hear you bro -here is some Information about how the british govt rigged the 1959 elections before independence:

A BBC radio documentary on the events leading up to the independence of Nigeria, Britain’s former colony, charged the British government with interference in the election to ensure the result was in line with its interests (see “Rigging Nigeria”).
The programme cited two files held in the British National archives covering the period leading up to independence in 1960 that to this day remain closed to the public and will remain closed for another 50 years.
One file contains material relating to the governor general at the time of independence, Sir James Robertson, and the other material on Dr Azikiwe, known as Zik, who was leader of the nationalist pro-independence political party, the National Council of Nigerian Citizens (NCNC).
Mike Thomson, the investigator on the programme, spoke to Harold Smith who had gone out to work as a British Colonial Officer in the 1950s after graduating from Oxford University. Smith was based in the then capital, Lagos, working in the ministry of Labour, then headed by Festus Okotie-Eboh, a flamboyant politician who was treasurer of the NCNC. The NCNC was based in the Eastern Region of Nigeria. Under colonial rule the country was divided up into three regions, North, East and West.
One day Smith was given a secret file containing a minute that ordered him to get involved in regional elections taking place in the late 1950s in the run up to independence. He was to make vehicles, staff and other resources available to the NCNC colleagues of Okotie-Eboh who was standing in the elections. Smith was shocked at the request. He explained that the election had to be fixed because the plan was that the Northern region would hold power on independence.
Thomson asks, “Could an allegation of British government involvement to rig an election or at the least to favour a particular party be substantiated?”
He interviewed Professor David Anderson, Director of the African Studies Centre at Oxford University. Asked if such manipulation of an election result could have happened Professor Anderson replied: “In almost every single colony the British attempted to manipulate the result to their advantage.... I would be surprised if they had not done so.”

Rossikk: This man has no shame. Either he's blind or he's just brain-dead. Has he not read the revelation by ex British colonial officer Harold Smith, to the effect that Britain RIGGED Nigeria's independence elections to install northern hegemony on the country? And also RIGGED the national census to create false northern population advantage? Atrocities from which we're yet to recover today? What and what did the British build in Nigeria in their 70 years in power here? Was illiteracy NOT AT 93% at the time they left? Did they build a single university in those 70 years? Did we have any roads? What infrastructure did they construct apart from the wretched railway meant to evacuate our resources abroad for their embezzlement?

So why is Mark today asking Britain to ''help Nigeria'' do ANYTHING?

In fact some of these so-called leaders are just DUNCES.

If at this point it is still not clear to people like Mark that Britain and co HAVE ZERO INTENTION OF ''HELPING'' Nigeria be anything but a weak, dependent, client state, then nothing can cure them of their cursed foolishness.

Now tell me something: WHAT ''existing bond'' is Mark talking about? Somebody attacks and seizes your territory, and loots your resources for 70 years, RIGS your independence elections before disappearing into the night, and you say you have an ''existing bond'' with that person whereby such a person ''must be interested in the propagation and sustenance of democracy in Nigeria''.

I mean, is an ARMED ROBBER ever interested in propagating anything good for his victims??

So why would Britain be interested in anything good coming to Nigeria??
Rossikk they dont care - that's the bottom line - they are just front men for the real power brokers do you seriously think britain was ready to give up such a wealthy possession as nigeria?

The real power brokers who run the show are britain and america, independence was just a trick used to confuse unsuspecting nigerians that they now had control over their own destiny, why do you think the british armed and funded the north against the east during the nigeria/biafra civil war.

Why would an imperialist agent like David Mark bite the fingers of the hand that has made it possible for him to be where he is today? Stop seeing the nigerian ruling classes as ignorant buffoons who do not know what they are doing - David Mark knows very well what he is doing - of course he has to call on his collaborators to intervene militarily because he is acting in accordance with a script.

a nigerian political analyst sets out very succinctly nigeria's subservience to the west here:

Nigerian Economy: Rising debt, IMF Once again, Collapsing Infrastructure as fat Cats get fatter

Written by Ola Kazeem

In 2005, during the tenure of Obasanjo with Okonjo Iweala as Finance minister, Nigeria paid a whopping sum of 12 Billion dollars to buy back 18 Billion dollars debt owed Paris club. This prepared the ground for Nigeria to completely pay off its debt by April 2006 and made her first African country to fully pay off its debt (estimated at $30 billion) owed to the Paris Club. This “exit” from debt trap was celebrated both nationally and internationally; the celebration alone was estimated to gulp 2.4Billion Naira.

This further confirmed the subservience nature of Nigerian ruling elites to their foreign masters in the west. This 12Billion Dollars would have gone a long way in solving many infrastructural challenges, the health, education and power would have positively benefitted immensely from this windfall, but those become completely unimportant when the interest of Nigerian ruling class or their masters are involved. Despite the fact that, over 35Billion dollars already paid in interest and the destination of this debt cannot be rationally traced, yet it was still the priority of thieving gangsters to dole out such a huge amount, under a dubious buy back deal.

Something similar happened in Argentina on September 2, 2008; President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner of Argentina announced plans to pay off the entirety of debt owed to the Paris Club, which amounted to roughly $6.7 billion. Political pressures ensued and though the government officially insisted on its intention to repay,[3] government officials eventually stated that this is unlikely until global credit conditions improve, in spite of the fact that Argentina is richer than Nigeria. Regime of Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner became so unpopular and even up till now it has not emerged from this infamous attempt; but in Nigeria, this mad wastage was greeted with drumming and dancing.

A naïve observer would have thought that for Nigerian ruling class to have rejoiced over exiting debt burden means never again will they enter it again. That they have forever learnt their lessions, but can an irresponsible, unproductive and useless ruling elites live without debt? In less than 5 years, the debt portfolio has climbed and surpassed the 2005 figures. Nigeria now owes $37Billion. The World Bank/IMF, just as it did in 2005, has once again stationed its representative in person of Okonjo Iweala; at least to oversee its interest and ensure that its policies are followed to the latter. Despite favourable oil price in the international market which means more money for Nigeria, the debt continues to rise uncontrollably. The main difference between now and 2005, is the composition of this debt figure. Just $5 Billion is foreign; the remaining is debt owed their local friends and contractors. The immediate response of Okonjo Iweala after her swearing in was that there is no cause for alarm; that the present debt is just 19% of GDP, which falls short of 40% boundary recommended by World Bank. From her response, it means we have just begun the part two into the jungle of unending debt. As at present, N542bn is earmarked for debt servicing in 2011 budget alone. This amount is more than the total allocation for education and health combined. Okonjo Iweala personally benefitted from the 2005 deal because her Consultancy outfit actually brokered the deal and the consultancy fee alone is enough to encourage her to do it over and over again.

The main thrust of IMF/WORLD BANK policy for Nigeria, like other less developed countries is to devalue the currency. Nigerian ruling class, a complete slave to foreign interest is always ready to carry through any policy irrespective of its own local narrow interest. With a devalued Naira, the local debt becomes cheaper and inflation becomes galloping. Devalued Naira will make foreign component of the debt to be more valued and at the same time cheapen the local component. There might be a determined resistance from local bourgeoisie against this move, but as always, in the final analysis, the interest of International capital prevails.

This revealed more glaringly why inflation presently at 12.5% will likely shot up the more. Why Goodluck Jonathan Government will continue to deceive the Nigerian workers as regards minimum wages; even if eventually paid, devaluation will make mess of it. This regime like previous regimes is only capable of bringing succour to foreign interest and local cronies and at the same time increase pain and agony for Nigerian masses. Nigerian ruling class is absolutely dependent on foreign interest, this was also revealed by wikileaks: how US Government mobilized support for Jonathan and sent their illustrious daughters(Okonjo Iweala) to directly oversee their collective interest.

As long as Nigerian ruling class remain in power, more agony and frustration will continue unabated for Nigerian masses, just as foreign capital and local bourgeoisies benefit more and more from our pains. The only available alternative to a better Nigeria is booting out this thieving ruling elites, establishing the Government of the working people; for working people and in the interest ordinary Nigerians.
Omotola is a diva, take it or leave it! She continues to impress many with her responses to the unfounded rumors about her and her family. Last weekend, the media was awash with news of Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde’s husband, Captain Matthew Ekeinde’s ‘sack’ from Air Nigeria where he was a pilot until recently.

Apparently trying to douse the euphoria and concern generated by the news, the screen goddess and mother of four took to her twitter handle to correct the impression of the ‘sack’ of her husband.

In reality, her husband was not particularly fired as he was among several hundreds of workers affected by Barrister Jimoh Ibrahim’s unilateral decision to shut down the Airline’s operations for a year over staff ‘disloyalty.’
http:///Cyvx1
more comedy from nigerian journalists "douse the euphoria and concern" what does that mean - how can you be euphoric and at the same time concerned about someone being sacked?? isnt it one or the other - either you are filled with joy (euphoric) or anxious (concerned) but you cant feel both at the same time can you?

screen goddess?? are you sure about that - there is nothing about fat faced omo "sexy" that reminds me of a goddess.

Horus: At the end of Apartheid, a deal was done between the White elite and the Africans who were to inherit positions of power. Mass engineered rhetoric was used to lullaby the people into an ideology of a "rainbow nation" where reconciliation without justice had virtue. The general politics focuses on reassuring the beneficiaries and perpetrators of racism that they have nothing to worry about, all is forgiven. South Africa is the Southern most point of Europe. South Africa is the kind of place where you can arrive at the airport and take the right turns in your BMW, listen to the radio, drive right to your hotel, go shopping, switch on the TV, go on a safari, go to the beach and barely see an African; if one was so inclined. Hidden in plain view is an injustice, which speaks volumes to the global condition of Africans and their inherent social and economical disadvantage even in their own lands: a condition unique to African people as a racial family.

I've seen Nigerian women beat up their husbands and kick them out of the house in the UK, yet they still get restraining order against their victims(who happen to be men in these cases)....

I'm not a woman beater and I've never touched any woman in my young life on this planet. However, the law is flawed in the West because it favours women more...
women who beat up their husbands are very much in the minority and not the norm amongst nigerians. You are always going to get one or two isolated cases of women who beat up their husbands but in no way is this as commonplace as nigerian men who beat up their wives.

If you had a brain cell in your head you would discover that every war, conflict or chaotic situation in africa is funded and orchestrated by europe and america.

take for instance the ongoing war in DRC which has claimed over 10 million african lives - who do you think is behind it? who supplies all the weapons being used by the various milita groups? what are these milita groups fighing over? isnt it the minerals that DRC has? who owns the mining companies that are financing these militia groups?

who financed charles taylor's murderous rampage in liberia and why? why were some of the biggest diamond companies in africa behind the war in liberia?

perhaps if you could try and answer some of the above questions i might just start taking your funny comments seriously.

There has to be a complete overhaul of the legislation in nigeria with regard to family law as soon as possible in order to stop this terrible abuse of women, what is the point of being married when you are nothing more than a punch bag?

How can any woman open her mouth to speak about the joys of marriage when behind closed doors she is catching the kind of hell you would not wish on your worst enemy? Nigerian men are known the world over as abusers of women that is why many of their marriages to non nigerian women do not last - no western woman would ever tolerate the kind of emotional and physical abuse that the mete out very casually on their own women without a second thought, until the govt introduces legislation that protects nigerian women from such monsters this kind of abuse is going to carry on ad infinitum. I was so disgusted at the testimony from the woman who was being beaten by that pathetic animal who actually tried to force her into aborting his own child - does it get any more callous than that? Also nigerian women, learn to stand up to abuse and stop hiding and protecting abusers who couldnt give two shi.ts about you, expose these monsters to the public so that they can no longer hide under the cloak of fake respectability, as a matter of fact a database of woman beaters and abusers needs to be set up in order to alert unsuspecting women and protect them from becoming victims of these monsters.

Here in the western world many of these kinds of abusers usually end up behind bars or in extreme cases six feet under, i am sick and tired of hearing about these kinds of stories.
if we want to ensure that our young female children do not end up reliving these horror stories now is the time to do something to stop this sick and disturbing trend.

For e.g my mentor is a 50 year old Afrikaans senior manager. We need her because she is showing us, the younger generation the "ropes". If she suddenyl left, my department would go under. We need the skills and experience that most of these white people have. We cannot afford for them to up and leave and I'm glad our leaders acknowledge this.

One day we'll be the "boss" and we'll owe it all to Mandela for not kicking whites out of SA.
keep dreaming - showing you the ropes indeed - you will never be allowed to progress beyond a certain limit because whites are not stu.pid - why would they show you how to be in control? dont you understand that in doing so they would be putting themselves out of business? do you think they are s.tupid - your boss is merely teaching you how to be a loyal employee - which you will remain until it is time for you to be fired or retired after which another loyal servant will step into your loyal shoes. you can never ever be boss as long as massa is in full control of all the wealth of your country okay. so sit back and continue to day dream grin grin grin grin grin

HOW MANDELA SOLD OUT BLACK SOUTH AFRICANS
(LETTER WRITTEN BY A DISENFRANCHISED YOUNG BLACK SOUTH AFRICAN):

Since it is Nelson R Mandela birthday today 18 July 2012, it is only befitting to write a letter to him as he and the world celebrates his birthday. This is an open letter to Mandela.
Dear Former President Nelson Mandela,
I was only about 5 years old when were released from prison. I come from a poor background as a black child and I was raised by my grandmother. In 1994 South Africa had its first democratic elections; I remember people around me including my grandma were excited to vote for you and the ANC government. Sadly my grandma passed away before she could vote in beginning of April in 1994.
I understand that you had meetings between 1985-1990 with P. W. Botha to have a negotiated settlement. Revered late ANC President, Oliver Reginald Tambo, referring to your meetings with the colonial-apartheid regime in the crucial 1980s, said “Prisoners can’t negotiate their freedom”.
I have read that according to aged ANC veterans, Tambo seemed disturbed about senior members of the leadership including you, who could have compromised the organisation. He seemed to question whom to trust. This, according to those veterans, eventually led to Tambo’s first stroke.
In 1990 before you were released from prison you assured your supporters that the nationalisation of mines, banks and minerals were on the cards. That belief had formed the core doctrine of the ANC and was enshrined in a document known as The Freedom Charter.
"The national wealth of our country, the heritage of South Africans, shall be restored to the people; the mineral wealth beneath the soil; the banks and monopoly industries shall be transferred to the ownership of the people as a whole; all other industries and trade shall be controlled to assist the well-being of the people," the charter states.
It later emerged that you and other ANC leaders were busily creatively re-interpreting the “Freedom Charter’s” commitment to nationalisation in order to comfort the monopoly white capitalists.

The nature of the sell out
When you negotiated with the Nationalist had intended to oversee a settlement which guarantees the maintenance of a white capitalist South Africa and of the profits extracted from the exploited black masses, and leaves power firmly in the hands of the white capitalists for the foreseeable future. As De Klerk has insisted “I do not intend to negotiate myself out of power”. On the contrary, negotiations were intended to prevent the victory of the black masses. De Klerk had laid a trap for the blacks into which they were being led by you. Any so-called 'deal' made with devils MUST, by default, go wrong! Truth be told; you were out-negotiated by the Nationalists.

Failed transfer of power during negotiations
The negotiations focused on two aspects: one was political, the other economic. When you were negotiating with the Nationalists you choose to separate political and economic power. That was your biggest mistake and betrayal to black people. The transfer of ownership of wealth and land is at the heart of a transfer of power. Hence it was clearly stipulated in the Freedom Charter. But you chose to ignore that.
During the negotiations everyone was watching the political negotiations. You were too concerned that if the political negotiations didn’t go well there would be mass protest. People were not interested in the economic negotiations and when the economic negotiators would report back, people thought it was technical; no one was interested. (Lack of education) You should have known better. This is where we missed our freedom completely and you sold it to the Nationalists.

Failed economic negotiations and state ownership of the Reserve Bank
Mr Former President, your mandate from the people was to ensure that the values of the Freedom Charter were implemented including nationalisation of country’s assets. Instead of nationalising the mines you were meeting regularly with Harry Oppenheimer, former chairman of the mining giants Anglo-American and De Beers, the economic symbols of apartheid rule.
Shortly after the 1994 election, you even submitted the ANC’s economic program to Oppenheimer for approval and made several key revisions to address his concerns, as well as those of other top industrialists. Shame on you for selling out of minerals and land to the imperialists.
The outcomes of those meetings were that you could have the political power but the gold and diamonds would remain in the hands of the individuals that controlled it before. Have you forgotten what the Freedom Charter had said??

One of the most revealing aspects of the economic transition was the ownership of the Reserve Bank of South Africa. Arguably the most powerful institution in the country, its fate was explained by Durban businessman Vishnu Padaychee; asked to draft a document for the negotiating team on the on the pro’s and con’s of having an autonomous central bank, run with total autonomy from the elected government. Padayachee could not believe what he was hearing. He and his team drafted and submitted the document with a clear policy of not allowing the Reserve Bank to be autonomous.
He was later told by the negotiating team that, “We had to give that one up”.
The bank is privately owned and today has some 650 shareholders. Why did you let go of the Reserve Bank and let the imperialist whites take control of it Mandela?
During the negotiations you agreed that not only would the Reserve Bank be run as an autonomous entity within the South African state, with its independence enshrined in the SA constitution, but it would be headed by the same man who ran it under apartheid, Chris Stals. Another Apartheid era figure, finance minister Derek Keyes, also retained his position in the new administration. Mandela how could you allow the people who oppressed us to be in charge of the Reserve Bank?

Padayachee lamented that with the loss of the Reserve Bank, “everything would be lost in terms of economic transformation”. This is indeed true; everything was lost when YOU handed over the Reserve Bank!!!!! One of the Freedom Charter pledges is the redistribution of land; this became highly constrained with a new clause in the constitution which protected all private property.

Failed rainbow-nation coated myth
You have been preaching this rainbow-nation myth to the world that does not exist but only exists in your head. Reconciliation has meant nothing but black people `forgiving’ whites for 300+ years of dispossession, humiliation and suffering. I experience pain every time a white South African - at the shop; in a bar; on the Talk Radio 702 or online forums - says that “We need to forget the past, get over it.” It is like they are saying to us `forget your pain’. And that from someone who benefited at your expense! We have suffered racial abuse and our abusers are among us.
You and Desmond Tutu’s rainbow myth glossed over this pain - much to the relief of whites. Whites fail to acknowledge our pain and suffering - and their position as beneficiaries of our pain. But you were overly concerned with not rocking the boat as far as whites were concerned. That is why you are the subject of a personality cult in the white community than the black community.
Whites in this country believe that you are the only honourable black person while the rest of us blacks are corrupt, criminals, rapists, drunkards and uneducated buffoons.
The FREE & FAIR environment post-94 is another rainbow-coated myth. Black people are not free (unless you describe freedom as being able to vote and not having to carry ID’s 24/7). We are not FREE and very little is fair! All thanks to you Mandela.

The current state
Are you aware that blacks remain landless, underfed, houseless, under- employed, badly represented in senior managerial positions? The state of healthcare and education for black people remains as it was, if not worse than, under apartheid.
Vestiges of apartheid and colonial economic patterns, ownership and control remain intact despite the attainment of political freedom by you. Are you aware that political freedom without economic emancipation is meaningless?
The unemployment crisis is also defined along racial lines due to the fact that in the third quarter of 2010, 29.80% of blacks were officially unemployed, compared with 22.30% of coloureds, 8.60% of Asians and only 5.10% of whites. About 12 million of the population lives on less than R2.50 per day, whilst 16 million South Africans receive social grants.
In terms of racial distribution of per capita income, African and coloured income levels in 2008 were still only 13% and 22% respectively of white per capita income, compared to 10.9% and 19.3% in 1993. The income gap for Indians has narrowed, with Indian per capita income in 2008 standing at 60% of those of whites as against 42% in 1993.
In 1995, median per capita expenditure among Africans was R333 a month compared to whites at R3 443 a month. In 2008, median expenditure per capita for Africans was R454 a month compared to whites at R5 668 a month. Source: [Leibbrandt, M. et al. (2010), "Trends in South African Income Distribution and Poverty since the Fall of Apartheid"]
The economy has failed to create jobs at the pace necessary to reduce extremely high unemployment, and the education system has failed to ensure that equalised public spending on schooling translates into improved education for poor black children.

Final thoughts
The democracy has not brought what was promised, you as former president of the ANC and of the country is responsible for that misdirection.
Mr Former President what you have done for black people is that you have laid the final brick by selling out on the struggle to achieve your dream of political victory. Your dream which has become our worst nightmare as black people.
You sold us as black nation for a “Noble Peace Prize” and that is the reason for the service delivery demonstration and the lack of service delivery. Our Constitution hailed as the best in the world favours the Caucasians while it oppresses the Africans. Thanks for nothing Mandela. You understood the Kempton Park negotiations as a sell-out solution to rescue white capital and for the few in power, and that such a democracy would continue the suffering of the black majority.
I have a problem with people giving “Messianic status to Madiba” like a black Jesus when we all know that you have failed the black nation.
When I started out this letter I told you about my grandma who died before she could vote for you. Well, I am glad that she never voted for you as she would have voted for a traitor. What you have done is simply continued where the apartheid government left us off and dug the holes of poverty and oppression deeper.
Before you leave this earth I would like you to take responsibility and apologise for your actions and what you did to black people. You sold our land to the imperialists, if you fail to apologise before you die it simply means you are an accomplice to them.
When you eventually die and meet the likes of Dr Hendrink Verwoerd and P.W. Botha may you have good time with them and laugh at how blacks continue to suffer. I have nothing but hatred for what you have done to us.
Signing out from the deep dark hell hole of continued oppression you put us in.
Yours Sincerely,
Youngster

panafrican: All False. Mandela did not strike any deal with any white power. Without firing a shot he put them in the rows and told them to vote equally with Black people. grin

And watch this: White people said they built South Africa, Namibia and Zimbabwe, guess who is in power there today, and ask yourself who worked as a slave for who and the end.
Well if thats the way you want to see it, its up to you but Mandela brokered a deal with the racist aparthied system in which it was agreed that a few former ANC leaders and their friends would be given token positions within the system ie positions in govt with no real power on the condition that they would abandon their previous revolutionary stance, some were also allowed to buy shares in the european owned mining companies which has led to many of them becoming multi millionaires this was done to buy their complicity and silence and it seems to have worked.

Token political power is not the same thing as economic power, look at Obama isnt he america's first so called black president (he's actually mixed race not black)but what has he done for the african american population since assuming office ?- NOTHING - and there is nothign he can do because he is merely a front man for white supremacy.

this is the same way the token black govts of namibia and south africa can never do anything to elevate the standard of living of the black majority unless they get rid of the white power structure that controls and owns all the banks, mining companies and other businesses in the country.

Mugabe tried to overrule the interests of the powerful white farmers in his country who owned 90% of the most fertile land in his country but dont you see how quickly europe and america came to the rescue of their white cousins by collapsing the zimbabwean economy ?

black africans still have not understood the score - the whites gang up against you the divided african in order to ensure that they always remain in full control of your resources and if that fails they simply invade and destroy your country and replace you with one of their approved puppets (libya and ivory coast)

You said it yourself << Live in the rat race, dog eat dog societies of western europe or live luxuriously in a villa with a swimming pool >>. One thing is sure today , let them try to enact apartheid again in south Africa, panafrican forces will move in to clean the land ASAP.
And we do not care if the half- kenyan in Devil's House in Washington agrees or not.
So if you know this what's with the dumb question?
by the way they dont need to re enact apartheid as it was never dismantled - what you have now is economic apartheid - the europeans still OWN EVERYTHING OF VALUE IN SOUTH AFRICA AND THE MAJORITY OF BLACKS ARE STILL AT THE BOTTOM OF SOCIETY.

Mandela did a deal with the aparthied power structure and their allies in europe and america - he sold the black folks out - FACT - he agreed to allow the whites to continue to own everything as long as he gave up his revolutionary struggle.

by the way the half kenyan in the white house is a puppet of the white power structure just like 99% of african heads of state including the clown Zuma.

panafrican: Is someone ashamed of his roots or did he discover that african hospitality is the best on Earth, way better than the artificial smile of europeans? Just asking. grin
ashamed of their roots? are you having a laugh?

let me get this right they landed on your continent - fought and defeated your ancestors, STOLE your resources, forced your populace onto barren reservations, STOLE the most fertile parts of the land for themeselves, built and developed the country and reserved the most developed parts for themselves and others of their race, BANNED YOU FROM VENTURING ANY WHERE NEAR THE DEVELOPED PART OF THE COUNTRY UNLESS YOU WERE COMING TO COOK CLEAN OR SERVE THEM - and you still have the nerve to turn around and ask why tney refuse to go back to europe?

ARE YOU REALLY THIS DUMB OR ARE YOU JUST JOKING because i refuse to beleive that we still have black people who reason like you in this day and age?

If you were in their shoes would you rather live in the rat race, dog eat dog societies of western europe or live luxuriously in a villa with a swimming pool while being waited on hand and foot by black servants?

Would you rather slot into the miserable existence that many europeans in western europe are condemned to or woudl you opt for a stress free, luxurious existence with access to the best health care and education that money can buy as is the case for the majority of europeans in south africa?

They are living off the spoils of their ill gotten wealth which has enabled them to live like kings and you sheepishly attribute it to "african hospitality" everything the europeans are enjoying in africa today was achieved through your suffering, your sweat and your blood.

Who dug out the gold and other valuable minerals from the mines in order to generate millions in profit for the european owned mining companies? whose labour was used to build these south african cities that you look upon with awe and admiration?

Going back to your ludicrous assertion that they are ashamed of their roots - how many white south africans identify with the indigenous people of south africa? why do they have their own languages ie english and afrikaans? if they were ashamed of their own culture why didnt they learn zulu and other south african languages? why did they introduce the bantu education act which stipulated that africans were not allowed to go beyond a primary school education? why did they create a separate society in which blacks were condemned to a lifetime of second class citizenry which remains intact till today?

please learn to understand history before posting, thanks.
