i have to laugh at some of the advice being given here, a man starts to look around outside when something is missing in his marriage therefore to advice him to stop going outside is only going to make him get more frustrated as he will be forced to be around someone who is not giving him that thing that he is going outside for, this is why in the western world when a marriage is no longer working they are advised to part ways instead of staying together to make each other's lives and the lives of their children miserable. There is such a thing as incompatibility - if two people are not on the same wave length and see life from two different perspectives no amount of counselling will change that fact. This is why people should take time to get to know who they are marrying - for example is the person you are about to marry a giving person, are they considerate, what is their level of intelligence are they family orientated - these are some of the things that can make or break a relationship - however to blindly jump into a marriage without spending time to study the character of the person you claim you want to spend the rest of your life is is like playing russian roulette - you might be lucky and find out the person is someone you can live with or you might be very unfortunate and find out that the person is the devil incarnate. Do you know that their are some men who take pleasure in abusing and degrading women but some of these men love being married because it gives them a sense of power, under normal circumstances such men are not supposed to go anywhere near marriage but many unsuspecting ladies will jump into marriage with such men because they have not taken out the time to study these men, 3 years down the line after you are on the verge of a nervous breakdown you realise that all this could have been avoided if you took the time to study this person. Some character traits in people can not be changed - for example some people have personality disorders which no amount of counselling or therapy can cure - are you ready to spend the rest of your life with such a person? Some women are not maternal and dont bond with their children - can you stomach such a person? some men are not emotionally mature to cope with raising children or providing emotional support to their wife but prefer hanging out with their "boys" - can you cope with such a person?

For all I know about her family, she is naturally fair in completion. fairness runs in their family. Her late dad was very fair and robust. her dad was a clan chief but retired from government service, very handsome man indeed. Her mother Florence till today even with her age is a beauty to behold. She is also fair in completion. Her younger brother is even fairer than her, so also her younger sister that read English at Uniben. That one is a beauty to behold any day. Having some flesh is in their gene, though she needs to watch her weight a little. I think that she is Ok the way god made her and should be left alone.

You seem to be preoccupied with skin tone - why is that? would you have put up such a robust defence of her if she were of a darker skin tone? Can you explain to me how light skin equals beauty? I do not see the beauty that you are going gaga over, all i see is an overweight woman with fake hair and below average facial features. No wonder light skinned people in nigeria feel superior to the dark skinned majority in Nigeria and no wonder 77% of nigerian women use bleaching creams (according to a recent survey) with people like you who accord more value to light skin than dark skin the average nigerian woman must feel very undervalued and unappreciated.

totally agree - this thread is a total indication of just how little pride nigerians have in anything that reminds them of their africaness - the majority of black african women do not look like this overweight pale skinned woman and yet she is being held up as some sort of paragon of african beauty, in a country where 99% of the women have dark brown skin why is it that this woman is regarded as attractive? as i said earlier had her skin been dark brown none of these posters would regard her as attractive.

most nigerians do not marry people who they have anything in common with, the majority of nigerian men go for women based on how docile they are as they are terrified of women who stand up for themselves and refuse to be treated like crap. this one probably married his wife using the same criteria only to wake up 3 years later and realise that he might as well be living with a maid. Your wife should be your best friend and lover rolled into one so that when the romance starts to wear off you still have a great friend who you have similar things in common with to enjoy your life with. all i can say is that he has made his bed therefore he will have to lie in it, of course that means that he will spend the rest of the marriage cheating on the poor woman and make her life extremely miserable. the divorce laws in nigeria need to be amended so that a man is forced to provide for an ex wife, i think that will reduce the number of dead end marriages that occur in nigeria because if a man knows that if his wife leaves him and he still has to provide for her and any children they have after the marriage has ended he will look well before embarking on a marriage with a woman he isnt sure of.
