Is it okay to take copies of the affidavit of support with me to the interview or only originals are accepted.the embassy sent packet 4 to us instead of 3 and it says there that scanned or photocopies are also acceptable and my fiancée is dwelling on that even tho I’m paranoid.am I good with copies as well?

Did your fiancee send u the original or scanned copy ? Go with what u have the important thing is what your fiancee filled on the forms

Alagbon police station ,could cost 5-7k depending on who u meet and u can get it same day if there isn't rush or much work to do. If u go there ask for madam Rebecca room 43 she helped me u can also tip her after

No You don't need a transit visa. Yes there could be USA immigration and or custom agents at Dubai airport. They can check your passport and ask questions to be sure you are entering the States genuinely. But they are not to touch your Sealed Parcel. However be polite to them as they have the powers to send you back.

1. You only need a transit visa in Dubai if you intend leaving the airport during the 4 hour layover but I don't think there's need for you to leave the airport because once you get to Dubai you'll find out that 4 hours is very short and before you know it you guys will be boarding the flight to Boston.

2. US immigration has no business at Dubai airport. Your point of entry is definitely the first Airport you'll land in US.

Well there wouldn't be need to ,but go with it and if u are asked about how many times he has visited u can tell them and also say he is waiting for u outside and in that process u can just bring it out and show the CO by the glass ,he might not even look at u or look at it all u need to do is mention it.

I went to the DHL in Abuja they told me my package is in Lagos. The CO gave me the white paper circled the VI office for collection ,was just surprised I got a text it's available for pick up where I filled during my application.

I don't have a concrete answer to your question maybe the more experienced guys can help u out ,but u can explain the situation to them or try and get their number and let your fiance call them now and explain . Check on their website for numbers /email and contact them asap

Had my interview today

Got to the embassy at 5:30 am for my 7:30am appointment ,heard everyone including the security talking about the new fees of 40700 once your visa is approved and no one could explain what visa category needed to make that payment ,so I had to rush back to the hotel and got my atm to withdraw from the bank ,the guys outside were helping people for early interview withdraw and charged 1k.When I got back did normal security checks given number 14.

Went into the main building, submitted documents at window 16 submitted appointment letter ,Ds160,medicals,police report, tax return,w2,paystub,birth certificate ,gave me back some evidence my fiancee submitted to uscis and told to sit and wait for my number,there are seats for immigrants to sit and the non immigrants stand.

There were only 2 officers to interview immmigrants and they were approving people ,by 9am i was called to window 17.

Why not marry in Nigeria ,didn't ask to see any document ,then he gave me 2 papers one for my rights in america and one circled where to pick up passport and visa would be ready in 2 weeks .

It took me 5 days to get my Attestation. But I think it's possible to fast track it within a day if some palms are greased. It's usually the signing that takes time. During my time, I was told the Director was not on seat.

This letter did not give an acceptable reason why you were given attestation leter instead of the actual birth certificate.

I just read the Decree No 69 of December 1992 and there is no place where I saw that someone cannot register his or her birth if he or she is 18 years old. In fact there is a provision for late registration of Birth in the Act. I will provide it below:

Late registration of birth  
(1) A person applying for the late registration of the birth of a child under section 10 (2) of the Act shall accompany the application with a sworn affidavit stating‐  
(a) the name of the child;  
(b) the date and place of birth of the child;  
(c) the name of the mother of the child;  
(d) the name of the father of the child;  
(e) the reason for not registering the birth within the time specified for registration;  
(f) such other information as may be required by the Commission

So I wonder why they say your case falls beyond the coverage of the Act.

I've heard of people who were even born before 1992 and yet got the NPC Birth Certificate so I wonder why yours will be different. Your parents (or uncle or guardian) can always swear an affidavit for you if that's the issue.

My advice: go back there and plead your case...you might have to part with some money (which is unfortunate) or you go to your Local Government Office and request for the NPC Birth Certificate there. I honestly don't think the USCIS guys will agree that your case does not merit a Birth Certificate.

Yes, first try another office and ask what document they will give to you if it's birth certificate or attestation .

You sure it's valid? He said he was born in 1994 so there's no excuse why NPC will not give him Birth Certificate instead of Attestation. Are you sure USCIS will accept NPC Attestation in lieu of NPC Birth Certificate for someone born after 1992?

They both serve the same purpose , same ad birth certificate accompanied with an affidavit

they asked for court affidavit, 2passport photo and a means of identification
I think I paid 4,500/5000naira

guys a random question, I applied for my birth certificate at NPC because I was born in 1994, but to my surprise they gave me an attestation, I tried arguing and explaining to them that I was supposed to get a birth certificate but they said the attestation was the right thing since I was already above 18 when I came to do it.guys hope this won't be a problem for visa process? or should I just go back to NPC?

It is valid , serves the same purpose.

2. What documents did they request for and how long did it take to get ready ?

I can't even schedule interview without the embassy given me go ahead.
I am applying from Germany though so maybe that is why it is different or maybe I don't understand sef.

I am a K1 applicant...according to what I read,we need to send them some documents,then after they review they will now send me notification to schedule interview.
It is complicated that I am as well confused.

Never heard of this before , what I know is that packet 3 Is telling u how to prepare for interview, where to do medicals, get police report and what documents to bring along for interview. Please go through your packet 3 again because it's the same they send to everyone.
