Politics / Re: $2.1bn Arms: Festus Keyamo Explains Why Jonathan Might Not Be Prosecuted by CaptainJason: 10:23am On Dec 22, 2015 |
Many people need to receive sense. The report has not stated that he will not be prosecuted, he has not even been found guilty. Everything wrong with this administration is GEJ's fault but the positives are as a result of Baba's body language. "Most African leaders manipulate the electoral process to suit themselves. They do this not only because of the peculiar reasons; they do this because of the fear of life after power." That is the main point here. This time 9 months ago, Nigerians started to pray against civil war breakout. As some were praying, some were exchanging their funds to US dollars incase of war and the need to quickly relocate, The APC was always screaming that there will be war of the APC candidate is not declared winner, at the same time the niger delta war lords were also threatening us with all sorts if their son did not win, remember this was before the conduct of election, the atmosphere was charged and on paper it was obvious there was civil war already just that bullets and bombs were yet to go off. IF GEJ did not hand over or if he had proceeded to the tribunal, We will be fighting civil war by now, We won't even be talking about "our money", there wont be any service provider for bandwidth to access Nairaland, We won't even be talking about CBN and our Naira cards or the spend limit. Majority will be in refugee camps and some will be in captivity. We will be thinking about having a basic life. Let's be grateful for where we are now. Jail is not the solution right now, pleading with these individuals to invest stolen funds in our economy is the solution as we speak. The present FEC members also have corruption cases hanging on their necks, The Peesident received cars from the NSA also, Same thing with the likes of Dokpesi and Nduka Thisday (You will agree with me that its either he should have checked where the funds for the purchase came from or he should have accepted the cars because he could not have know its from arms funds, same as others). Right now, we need to accept we are at ground zero, no time to pass blame but time for everyone to get on board, cut away the luxury, no time for frivolities, no time for party nonsense, no time for campaign, no time for we told you guys. We need to start now, the present Govt needs to communicate, needs to obey court orders, needs to respect the citizens as their bosses, needs to understand the concept of servant leadership. God bless Nigeria 12 Likes 2 Shares |

dekdek:there is nothing to add to the topic. I have always stated my opinion which is that APC and PDP are same, just different acronym. I do not expect PMB not to share the spoils of office with those who worked with him. That is how it has been even before he planned the coup that ended Shagari's govt. Nothing has changed. Its still come and chop government. By the way, Greet your BOss, Rt. Hon for me |

chrisblack: How come no one is contesting the state assembly elections held on the same day? Was it only Wike's voters that were not accredited using card readers? Even if you deduct total Apc votes from total accredited using card reader, APC will still not have the highest votes so why all the noise? |

chrisblack: Why so much noise without reading and reasoning? Will all the policemen become CSO to the Governor? Is it not possible that the ones who testify against PDP be appointed as CSO to the president? Just as you claim PDP is hiding money, Rivers people too are claiming Amaechi used Rivers money to sponsor Buharis campaign. I am not from Rivers and was not there but did the so called observers present proof that all the wards had issues? Did they visit everywhere? Are you telling me that everyone who voted in Nigeria was accredited using the card reader? Even GEJ's card was not read by the card reader. Are you telling me that the 1.9m people in Kano all used card readers?. The men said what they saw, you condemn them simply because they haven't said anything against PDP and Wike 2 Likes 1 Share |

Good thing if Dakuku can present his case, afterall that is why there is a tribunal, the case won't be decided based on emotions or public opinion but based on evidence presented before the court. The post has been about intimidation of witnesses. The policeman reports to the IG, the IG reports to the president. This should not be about apc, pdp or Wike now. After Wike, there will be many other governors. When cases are decided based on merit, the long term benefits will be of much good to us. I cannot believ that based on your bias, you see nothing wrong with the way the case is tampered with. You did state that the policemen must report to the IG and do what he asks them to, go back to your post again or you want me to quote you? I have not accepted any of the witnesses as credible, that is both the ones who claimed they witnessed violence and those who claimed otherwise, recall that INec and priests have said they did not witness violence. Also, remember that PDP is not likely to pick witnesses from troubled areas while APC is not likely to present witnesses from areas where elections were held peacefully. The officers from the ARMy, Police and other witnesses did not go round the whole state and all the wards. Even if policemen lie under oath, there is a law against that and they should be charged for that and not by simply arresting them right in the court. IT simply means the order was given even before their testimony "arrest anyone who goes against my order" and this is what my question has been about. You say my comparison is out of order, when you know the IG has a boss and JEga had a boss, do I need to elaborate on that? |

Any police witness must pass through the IG and must only say what the IG told him/her to say? IS that your point? They are witnesses because the IG deployed them there but is that to say they should lie under oath to please the force and the IG? The arrest was carried out immediately after their presenation and you do not think other officers who do not want to be arrested will stay away from court or lie under oath as a result of this? You do not think other credible witnesses will be scared and stay away? Was JEga not answerable to GEJ? So JEga should have declared GEJ winner because he appointed him or did Jega put himself there. There is no proof anyone has been bought here, they only stated what they saw, are you also saying those catholic priests were bought? You are an APC fan or member, you dislike Wike, how come 3 moths after, you have not been able to gather 30 pictures from the last election? Why is it so hard for you to do that? |
Politics / Re: IGP Orders Arrest Of Policemen And Witnesses For Testifying In Favour Of Wike by CaptainJason: 11:51am On Oct 03, 2015 |
Gamesmart: 1) When you read the Supreme court judgement that made Amaechi become the governor of rivers state then you will understand more. You vote for parties and not the individuals, at least up until the 2015 elections, that's what the law states. 2) You need to show proof of where I was in support of anyone using the army to stop your so called elected speaker. My advise to you, go and carry your Ugo C. UGo and start preparing for your common entrance Exam. Going by your abusive tone and words in every post, I can easily deduce your age range. I won't be replying any of your posts that contains such words. |

Gamesmart: IF by requesting that defectors should lose their seats and contest on the platform of their new parties is not standing for democracy, then I wonder what democracy is. Many of you did not believe Tambuwal and co would win their reelection bid if they vacated their seats and did what was right then but today many of them are in the the national assembly and at least one is a GOV. Rivers is the only place none of the defectors won any election and they are not contesting it, that proves one thing, the people rejected them. Some policemen testified that there was violence and nobody arrested them. What has arresting of witnesses got to do with corruption? Even within your APC, you people have been tagging anyone that does not align with your mini god's position as corrupt. You are yet to make any sensible point, all you do is run round in circle and I will be forced to report you so your uncultured posts can be blocked. I wonder why you cannot be sensible without the use of fowl language. We are Nigerians, we have the right to request for what we want from those serving us. They are not rulers, they are serving us. Get that into your head. Trying to gain sympathy by tagging someone a wailer will not help you. During GEJ's time, he tried his best, we wanted more, No big deal. Same with Buhari, he will try his best and people will always want more. Nigerians want a country as sweet as America, Saudi etc. Americans want a country like heaven. Anyways your attempt to derail this thread has not and will not be successful. Stand for the truth and what is right at all times. |

dekdek: So you do not think that this will scare other credible witnesses? Won't this scare other police witnesses? Just as we have corrupt policemen, we also have corrupt judges, military men, politicians e.t.c but this is clearly a case on witness intimidation. They went as witnesses because they were deployed to that area, to counter what they have said, you need people who were on ground in the affected areas, remember these are policemen who were on duty in specific areas, You cannot tell me all polling units were scattered. This is how we started 16 years ago, I have said my own oo 2 Likes |

dekdek: It's one thing for elections to be free and credible, it's another thing to prove it, that is why we have the tribunal, What would you have done if some observers had requested for the cancellation of the presidential elections based on this same rivers state and the then PDP government cancelled the entire elections? Please lets do things according to rule of law. Also this is not about who won or lost the election, it is about intimidation of witnesses. |

Paulpaulpaul: You need to stop this your beer parlor rounds. It is not helping you. I am sure you did not see any REC reading any report on the Governorship and State assembly elections. What you saw was for the presidency and Federal assembly. The elections in question were held two weeks after. Even at that, What happened with the REC is not an indication that the policemen lied under oath. Use your brain, why should anyone be arrested for saying what he witnessed? Are you telling me that all the polling units were disturbed? Why is no one coming out from those poling units to discredit inec? Two elections held same day, house of assembly and Governorship yet its only the GOV that is so hot? Inec witnesses include Catholic priests, are they also not credible witnesses? Why only opposition states? This is how some of you were screaming in the past, we didn't know it was because you belonged to the opposition. |

Gamesmart: I am not interested in associated with ill mannered people. The post is there, unedited. How does asking politicians who switch parties to vacate the seats correlate with intimidation of witnesses? You need to return to primary school, attend a good one this time because that is where you got it wrong at an early state of your life. |

Sanchez01: You have been screaming that it was obvious yet we aren't even seeing videos, we aren't hearing of people protesting. In Kano, pdp members and government officials were stoned and we saw videos everywhere yet the result was accepted and that isnt violence by your standard. APC is not contesting any Federal rep, senate or state assembly seat yet they won the governorship election? Why is no one talking about other elections that held on the same day? Why is there a tribunal if people cannot say what they saw? Why the intimidation of witnesses? The answer is obvious, Wike is the target. |
Politics / Re: IGP Orders Arrest Of Policemen And Witnesses For Testifying In Favour Of Wike by CaptainJason: 9:40am On Oct 03, 2015 |
Jazzlite: There cannot be two set of rules. The IG was not in Rivers during the election. The witnesses for the day include catholic priests and previous sittings included Inec members of staff. The witnesses can only talk about what happened in the wards/ LG's they monitor. Even if it's a case of bearing false witness, there is provision and procedure for that in law. The IG obviously knows that. This is clearly intimidation. Recall that army witnesses also stated last month that they were directed by the Chief of Army staff to stand for Apc. If you believe that Nigeria needs to purge itself of corrupt people then you need to first purge yourself of bias and always allow rule of law come first. 1 Like |
