No one is saying the tribunal shouldn't do its work. So far she hasn't been hindered. Even the witnesses that were arrested, it was after their testimony in court and the testimony is already admissible.
However, we have a police force to clean and wield out corrupt elements. Unlike the civilian life, u can't just do anything anyhow in a force. The issue is between the IGP and his men.

It's quite simple; the election was indeed marred by violence. The IGP understands that his boys are cheap, hence the reason for being monitored, and true to that he was not disappointed. Two senior police officers, an Assistant Commissioner of Police and former Area Command of Bori Zonal Police Command in Rivers State, Mr Akuki Kenneth and a Chief Superintendent of Police, CSP, Uche Mike Chukwuma on Friday testified before the Rivers State Governorship Election.

They both contradicted the claims by soldiers that the election was marred by violence.

However, shortly after they gave evidence, a mild drama occurred within the court premises as plain clothes policemen, who claimed to be acting on the orders of the Inspector General of Police arrested the two officers who testified before the tribunal.

In his testimony, the ACP said he supervised the election in nine Local Government Areas‎ and that the governorship poll held on April 11 was peaceful and that there was no disruption of voting in the state.

According to him, there was peaceful distribution of election materials while voting held successfully.
