A Fulani man, Alkassim Adams, who
converted to Christianity in Plateau State, has
gone missing days after visiting his family
house in Rankum Village. Adams went home for the first time in months for the burial of his father on Monday, October 5, 2020, along with two of his friends and fellow Fulani converts but never returned. The three were abducted and threatened with death to renounce their faith. When they resisted, the two were shot on the spot while Adams was taken away. Adams, a student of COCIN Bible School, Zaria, Kaduna State, has however remained in captivity and is only likely being spared for being a native. His lines were only reachable for the first two days and the police are yet to trace his whereabouts nearly two weeks after his disappearance. Officials of the COCIN Bible School in Zaria said before he vanished, Adams took permission to attend his father’s funeral. They added that in the early days of his conversion, he was almost lynched — only narrowly escaping death. This is not the first time the herdsmen will attack one of their own for converting to a different faith. Daily Times gathered that a young man was abducted and killed in Rankum Village about five years ago for converting to Christianity. source: https://dailytimes.ng/fulani-man-feared-dead-after-converting-to-christianity/

Jigawa State Governor, Mohammadu Badaru Abubakar said that Nigerians should no longer blame President Muhammadu Buhari ‘s administration for the current scarcity of the foreign exchange, saying that the problem was traceable to the fact that Nigeria ‘is a chronic importer’ He said this while commending the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami on the commissioning of 12 digital projects build by the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, National Information Technology Development Agency, NITDA and other agencies under the ministry. He insisted that President Muhammadu Buhari should not be blamed for the hardship in the country and the high cost of food items and other goods in the market, stating that the previous administrations failed to create a buffer for the preservation of naira against dollar, hence the scarcity of dollar in the money market and rising cost of goods. ‘‘In the last five years of the previous administration, oil was averaged at $100 per barrel, our five year probably $50 per barrel on average. At least with half of the resources available to Muhammadu Buhari, we have achieved a lot. ‘‘The ministry of aviation has completed 150 projects in four years and still counting with half of the resources so is the same story in other ministries. Today, we can proudly say, five years of Buhari administration and five years of previous administration if analyzed, I am sure it will be confirmed that we have done well with lesser resources available. ‘‘In trade and investment, we are increasing our non-oil export by the day, a good strategy. And again our Ease of Doing Business, we are improving in the ranking, so many industries are coming up. In my state alone, we have seen industrial revolution for export substitution. If we take the statistics and compare them with the last five years, I am sure we will see government of President Muhammadu Buhari has done very well. ‘‘The ministry of works is constructing about 500 roads in housing, many projects are ongoing across the country. ‘‘The problem is that there was no import substitution, no clear agenda to be realized to reduce import substitution during the last administration. We kept making money without savings, we relied heavily on importation. “We blame Buhari but he did not cause drop in oil price. We have to import with dollars because the past leaders have been chronic importers, we have to import everything we need. Not only import, we rely heavily on available few dollars. ‘‘The foreign reserve was 29bn dollars when we came in, we could not dip hand into the reserve. This was the genesis of things being expensive. I do not see where Buhari is responsible. He is not responsible for drop in price of oil, we have to blame past leaders, who know that oil can never be stable. “They had opportunity to dip hand in the reserve and stabilize our currency but did not save for the future and they have the audacity to shamelessly accuse Buhari for high cost of commodities. ‘‘Any fair minded Nigerian will know that president Buhari has delivered on his mandate and deserve our commendation. We have done wonderfully well and will soon blow our trumpet for people to see. “Nigerians should come out with the truth and stop listening to propaganda and trace our problems to the roots. He is not the one who killed the rabbit, he was asked to carry the dead rabbit.’ source; https://www.vanguardngr.com/2020/08/stop-blaming-buhari-for-hardship-high-cost-of-food-items-gov-badaru/

Social media personality , Kemi Olunloyo , likes to express herself unapologetically . In an interview with Sunday Scoop , Olunloyo talked about her birthday wish and sex life . She said , “ My birthday wish wasn’ t fulfilled . I told Naira Marley I wanted to ‘ get down ’ with Jude Chukwuka , the actor he gave N1m . I was actually flirting with Chukwuka . What happens between me and Chukwuka is amazing . Even his wife and children are laughing at us. We are very good friends though I haven ’ t met either him or Naira Marley . The latter is like a son to me . He gave me a nice cash gift for my fifty - fifth birthday and also celebrated me when I turned 56 recently . I really can’ t fall in love with a man . I don ’ t have whatever makes people fall in love . At 56 , I don ’ t need marriage again . “ I was celibate for 10 years. It is very common for Nigerian men to think that all a woman wants is good sex but we don ’ t need that to get what we want out of life . Men only say such things when their egos have been deflated . I really don ’ t like sex because I was circumcised ( female genital mutilation ) . That made me distant from my mother . I dated someone in 2017 and the relationship ended that same year . However , I use intimacy gadgets and I like them. I promote their use and I want other women to do the same . ” Olunloyo also insisted that she had forgiven pop star , Davido. “ I have forgiven Davido for what he said to me though he did not apologise. I have never seen him . I don ’ t worry about him anymore . His fiancée , Chioma , didn ’ t offend me but her social handle was once used to call me an ‘ old cargo ’ . I have never attacked her, ’ she said . Sources: https://punchng.com/why-i-like-using-sex-toys-kemi-olunloyo/ |

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has arrested a labourer, Lawalli Bala, of Rikina village in Dange/ Shuni Local Government Area of Sokoto State for alleged homosexuality Bala was alleged to be sodomising 12 underage children in the night when parents of the children were sleeping. Mr Mitika Mafa-Ali, the NAPTIP Zonal Head in charge of Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara states disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Sokoto. Mafa-Ali said the suspect, aged 30, was a labourer working for the parents of the children. He allegedly took the advantage to lure the children into homosexuality in the night when the parents are asleep. He said the suspect was arrested following a tip- off and has confessed to the crime. The zonal head added that investigation was in progress and that the suspect would soon be charged to court. Speaking to NAN while in custody, Bala said he came to Rikina village from Zamfara and was assisted and sheltered by the children’s parents. The suspect confirmed engaging the children in homosexuality as they mostly sleep together in the night. He attributed the incident to satanic move, adding that he was introduced into homosexuality acts by somebody when he was in Niger and continue with act as a source of pleasure. One of the victims named withheld, told NAN that he was 14 years in primary 4 at Rikina Primary School. The victim said the suspect traced them on their various sleeping places. The victim said he, along with others, mostly woke up in the morning to notice sperm on their backs as some of their trousers were tore or removed by the victim while they are asleep. A parent, who pleaded anonymity, told Newsmen that the case had earlier been reported to the local Hisbah Officials before taking over by NAPTIP. He said the incident was devastating as the suspect was considered as member of the community with all forms of assistance rendered to him. source: https://www.vanguardngr.com/2020/08/naptip-arrests-labourer-for-sodomising-12-underage-children-in-sokoto/

A NIGERIAN Islamic human rights association, the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) yesterday accused the officials of the Oyo State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) of Christianising the CBT examination organised to screen applicants for teaching appointments in the state. MURIC alleged that Muslim candidates were made to answer questions on biblical stories and denounced the imposition of bible questions on Muslims. “We appeal to the governor of Oyo State to order a resit of the CBT examination on a level playing ground,” the association said. The allegation was contained in a press statement made available to pressmen yesterday by the Director of MURIC, Professor Ishaq Akintola. The MURIC statement reads: “Muslims who took part in the CBT examination organised by the Oyo State TESCOM were shocked when questions on Christian Religious Knowledge (CRK or BK) surfaced among the questions. “They had earlier received information that candidates would be tested in Mathematics, English Language, Current Affairs, Knowledge of Teaching Education and the candidate’s special area. But to their dismay, they found questions on CRK like explaining how Moses was a shepherd to his father-in-law and how Elijah was thrown into the fire. “These CRK questions have the potential of putting Muslim candidates at great disadvantage while Christian candidates are most likely to score high marks. This will eventually lead to the disqualification of Muslim candidates and the employment of Christian teachers. The bias becomes more pronounced when it is realised that no Islamic knowledge question was asked to create a balance. “MURIC frowns at this lopsided arrangement. It is grossly unfair to Muslims. It should be noted that this is an exercise which has direct bearing on the welfare of the candidates’ families. The implications are far-reaching, including a calculated attempt to impoverish Muslim families while Christian families are enriched. “We therefore reject the exercise. We call on the state governor to order TESCOM to conduct another CBT examination. We are astounded by the level of Christianisation going on in Oyo State agencies since the appointment of Christian chairmen and directors. “We call the attention of Nigerians and the international community to this episode. It is a pointer to what has been going on in most South West states. Muslims have been turned into underdogs. Unfortunately those who complain among us are labelled as terrorists. “We are threatened with assassination and blackmailed as receivers of funds from terrorist groups. All these in an effort to get those who oppose the persecution of Muslims out of the way so that the oppressors can continue in their evil ways ad infinitum. “For the umpteenth time, MURIC affirms that threats of assassination, blackmail, character assassination, falsehood and forgeries aimed at implicating MURIC will not deter it from speaking for the oppressed and marginalised Muslims anywhere in Nigeria. “In our concluding remarks, we denounce the imposition of bible questions on Muslims. We appeal to the governor of Oyo State to order a resit of the CBT examination on a level playing ground.” Source; https://www.vanguardngr.com/2020/08/muric-condemns-christianisation-of-oyo-tescom-examinations/
