Keep 70% of your money and Buy Dangote Refinery Shares once it comes out in September (Stocks) This is HUGEEEEEEEEEE. This Shares will re-design ones destiny.
Make sure u have your CSCS and Clearing House Number, a stock broking firm can help u with that.
So immediately Dangote Refinery IPO comes out, u invest as much as u can.
You will get dividends in dollars.
This is going to be the best decision u will ever make in ur life.

For Equity, this is High-Risk, High-Reward.
There will be sweet months, there will be bad months.
This the best time to invest in Equity fund, now that there is a major dip.
Put 30% into Stanbic IMAAN FUND or Zedcrest Equity Fund. (Zedcrest Annual Profit is Massive) U can buy both.
Then keep topping up every week or every month and watch ur money grow.
This should be a long term investment.
Watch your money compound over the years.
People will be wondering if u did jazz (Thats if u can keep for 8 years at least)
This will be the second best decision u will ever make ever. Sweet for Retirement Plan. tongue grin smiley wink shocked cool

Later, If u have loose change, invest it in Money Mutual Fund.

Come back and thank me later.
IPOs are not for retail investors. They are exit liquidity for the early investors. Don't expect profits soon. Alhaji needs to sort early investrors and lenders. IPOs follow a J-curve, sometimes dropping below IPO prices. Target price discovery range to enter.

How does this work? Is it like a stock you can buy and sell? What is the dividend yield?
Yes. It is listed on the stock exchange. You can trade it, and earn dividends as well.

The power generation business in Nigeria needs a lot of overhauling to make it profitable for shareholders. And for me, I have long ago, decided to reduce my companies with TOE and FO majority stakes. You need a very long spoon to eat from the same plate with them.

The market is about to see some volatility. It's time for astute traders to make some fast cash.
Some fingers will be burnt too.

Let's see how far it could have positive impact....
Although it will come with its own disadvantages too......because price will be easily altered either positively or negatively... especially the big Caps.

Looks like the Rule was made for the big Cap stocks..... ARADEL, SEPLAT, AIRTEL, DANGCEM and the likes.. .
Especially SEPLAT and AIRTEL to enhance liquidity...

I chatted them. They said WYSIWYG. What I see topped up to my 5k investment correlates with my calculations.

On the question of how they are able to pay higher, they sent to me their factsheet but I'm unable to interpret well. As at December: 0.7% cash, 20.6% commercial paper, 25,1% treasury bills, 53.6% fixed deposits. The returns from each of this instrument wasn't mentioned.
65% of the instruments were maturing within 0-90days, 28% 91-180days,
7% 181-364days. And the YTD return was 20.67% against benchmark of 17.21%.
Can you make meaning from these numbers?
Good then.

Nope. It applies both ways.
It is taken off the sellers account, appears on your account but not settled (fully yours) until settlement is completed.

How about T+1? It won't settle in his account till the 14th.

I see STL and Trustbanc MMF give rate in excess of 19% whereas other like Stanbic gives below 16%.

Considering that treasury bill hovers around 16%, how is STL able to generate this high rate?

Does anyone have link to their factsheet? I have not seen their factsheet in the online app.
Check well, that's likely before they deduct their fees.

If you're cool with safe locks, then you can invest directly in t-bills and bonds and earn your full rates.
InvestmentRe: Mutual Funds by Care4: 9:35am On Apr 12
If all you're investing is 5M, 2 classes is best. Depending on your risk appetite:
Aggressive: EMF & Balanced (50/50, or 60/40)
Moderate: fixed income & balanced (60/40)
Conservative: fixed income & balanced. (70/30)

This is given for perspective. Do your own research.

bassdow:
No matter the Asset manager e.g Stanbic , Norrenberger, firstAlly, etc, so long it's MMF, the interest rate is not static. It changes on daily basis hence there's no guarantee an interest rate of 20.52% on Monday morning wouldn't go higher or lower by evening of same day.

If you wanna lock in rates, better go with the likes of FGN bonds, Treasury bills BUT those doesn't support automatic compounding.

In other words, that you started with an interest rate of 20.52% doesn't guarantee it would remain at that. it could go higher or lower or very lower or very higher depending on state of the economy.

AnyOne looking for inSane interest rates should go on their Knees on top the highest mountain and pray for the economy to really go bad the CBN would have to raise interest rates.

NB: if you get mind, and willing to tae the cool risk, you could split said funds into 5 parts and invest 1 million naira in MMF, invest 250,000 naira in Stanbic IBTC's Nigerian Equity Fund , another 250,000 naira in Ethical Fund , another 250,000 naira in Imaan Fund , then the remaining 250,000 naira in Balanced Fund

mind you after doing the above, be prepared to leave the funds for at least 1-year or 1-year 6-months and if your heart ain't strong enough, don't look at them for those periods as it can be going up and down BUT even if it's in Negative, so long you don't attempt to REDEEM, it's still not a LOSS. They all have the capacity to really earn yyou much higher than MMF but you have to give them at least +1Year
InvestmentRe: Mutual Funds by Care4: 9:30am On Apr 12
Your daily return is based on the day's rate

Thazard:
Please i have a question.

If I invest 2 million at today's rate of 20.52% and tomorrow, the rates keeps dropping down till the end of my tenor.

Will that affect the rate i invested on?
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Care4: 9:25am On Apr 12

Yes, you are quite right. Liquidity-induced craziness (volatility) is the “game”. Requires patience, familiarity, and knowledge. No one that understands ETFs in the Nigerian market will touch Stanbic IBTC ETF 30, NewGold ETF, and quite a few others at their current prices.

The trick is to be guided by their NAV with respect to what the ETF tracks and also their historicals. Many get burnt not knowing this. Buy close to their NAV. Never buy an ETF without first checking its latest NAV. Prices will always be at their highest in January /February and rotate back towards their NAV. Also note the dates the funds are rebalanced (sometimes twice a year) by the fund managers. Very important.
I traded STANBIC30 for good trade. Look at the charts, you'd see 2 tops, I rode both, and exited before reversal.
Waiting for the next both to enter.

I just finished a T.A on this and realized, Only the price is too expensive at this time for it, however, volume is moderate (NOT HIGH) but seller will exercise a little bit of patience before position sells off.
Except you're planning to hold for long, with a fair understanding of TA, you can go in and out in swing trades. Easy money.

Thats why i pity those people buying coys without any foundamentals....in the next few months a few stocks i know will fall to 50kobo and would be delisted from there

I am aware of the plans by NGX to delist a lot of useless stocks in the coming months....Just watch this space
They want to tidy things up.
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Care4: 8:48pm On Apr 03
ETF has gained attention lately. Just know it's more of pump and dump for now. See that charts.
And liquidity issues as well.

aj8:
Don't try this unless you are conversant with ETFs on NGX. You must familiarize yourself with the ETF’s NAV before you buy. Buy only if the price makes sense, close to NAV. Yes, if it makes Common Sense. It’s easier to run this on ETFs because of their volatility.

Happy Easter 🎁🎁📦🎁 to you and your family. Let His Light shine.

Remember to never sell all your shares, leave at least 1-10 units for the Registrars to keep you on their register for ease of payments. That way, you won't need to fill out a new mandate form.

ETFs have been receiving attention lately. Watch the cycle, so you don't enter at the top.

Best strategy at this time is to trade they cycle however, if your outlook is to hold for long, watch for bottoms tonaccumulate.

The above is for information and educational purpose only.

Please who else knows more about the Stanbic ETF 30 , they have done more than 500% in just 3 months. That's huge and no one is talking about it.

The account they opened for you with those banks is just for DEPOSIT PURPOSE ONLY. They move your funds to a CUSTODIAN Bank for safekeeping. In that way, they have not broken the SEC rule.

Run from stocks, invest in equity or mutual funds instead
I'd tell you to do both. Do equity, do money market, do fixed income, diversify.

I have to EMF, and on my own, I've done over 50% in 2 stocks this year. Sold them and took a profit. But i am still waiting for end of Q1 to receive anything "tangible" on my EMF and MMF.

I must tell you the truth and anyone can go and confirm.

The best broker is cardinalstone.
I am not bothered about brokerage fees any longer.

1.45 buy and 1.80% sell is not bad when you compare the risks involved with other cheap brokers like mc and Atlas portfolios.

I have confirmed all these brokers one after another
I use those two you mentioned as cheap for trading - mcse and Atlass, and IOFS for long holds. The only issue with MCSE and ATLASS is their platform (iTrade )'s reluctance to give us a mobile app.
