Factional leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Simon Ekpa has been arrested in Finland by the international Police popularly called "Interpol".

Ekpa was reportedly arrested at Finland international Airport whilst trying to fly to Israel. This is coming after many Nigerians called for his arrest over the killings and sit-at-home orders he reportedly instituted, that has crippled activities in the South-East region of Nigeria.

Finnish publication, Helsingin Sanomat reported that they arranged an interview at Ekpa's apartment near the Lahti market square, for him to explain what his separatism and opposition to elections are all about.

However after Ekpa's neighbor opened the door, they saw the police from the National Bureau of Investigation inside. "The interview will be postponed indefinitely," a police officer told the mediamen, When asked whether it is because the interrogations take a long time or because it is not possible to meet the person we are aiming for after them, the police officer responded by saying that "both and the KRP does the job here."

A cameraman who was at HS's scene later confirmed the development when police officers in civilian uniforms led Simon Ekpa out of the apartment.

Tommi Reen of the National Bureau of Investigation later told the publicatuon over the phone that the KRP had a police operation in a private residence in the centre of Lahti on Thursday in connection with an ongoing pre-trial investigation. Police apprehended one man from the apartment. The KRP suspects the arrested man of a crime, but does not comment at this point on the criminal title.

Reen did not confirm the man's identity, but only spoke in general terms about the operation in an apartment in the center of Lahti. He did not comment further.

It was also reported that NIGERIA had asked Finland to intervene in Ekpa's activities. Last week, the Nigerian Foreign Minister invited The Finnish Ambassador Leena Pylvänäinen to a meeting on the topic. Jussi Nummelin, team leader for West and Central Africa at the Finnish Ministry for Foreign Affairs, told HS a week ago on Thursday that Finland shares concerns about security and condemns violence and incitement to it, as well as "actions aimed at preventing people from exercising their democratic rights".

It is unclear if there are plans to bring him back to Nigeria to answer for his alleged crimes.

Nigerian singer, Peter Okoye has said he would rather vote for Vice President Yemi Osinbajo against an Igbo man like the Chief Whip of the Senate and senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress for Abia North, Orji Uzor Kalu.

The 41-year-old made this known on Tuesday via his social media handle after revealing that he is not supporting the presidential candidate of the Labour Party because he is Igbo.

"If you think I am supporting PETER OBI because he is Igbo, try replacing him with Yemi Osibanjo against Orji Uzo Kalu and see if myself and Igbos won't massively vote for Yemi Osibanjo," the singer wrote.

Recall that the singer on Saturday had questioned Osinbajo's stand on the new Naira scarcity for which some aggrieved APC governors sued the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government.

"In all of these, where does the vice president of the Federal Republic, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo stand?" He tweeted.

He further lamented the hardship brought upon the people by the Naira redesign policy of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), saying the policy will prevent APC from buying votes in the general elections.

"Dear APC Governors, We the Nigerian people are not complaining about the policy. As a matter of fact we are so used to the hardship APC has brought upon us. We actually stand with Buhari and Emefiele on this one. We still have N50, N100 and N200 Note in circulations! Desperados," Peter wrote in another tweet on Saturday.

The singing twin brothers have openly pledged their support for the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi whom they are confident will win Nigeria's presidential election on February 25.

A Facebook user identified as Nwoba Chika Nwoba has revealed alleged details of an individual whom he claims to be the face behind Gistlovers blog.

According to the post on Facebook, Gistlovers' real name is Nnamdi Eme. He further claimed that he's 24 years old and he studied at Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka.
He added that he's working together with an ICT expert and they have confirmed the name of a hotel he frequents.

In his words:
"This is Gistlover. He's from Etiti community of Bende LGA, Abia State. His name is Nnamdi Eme. He's 24 years old. He studied Business Administration at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. His father was a lecturer there. He's Professor J.K Eme.

"After dealing with Gistlover, he'll agree that he's learning work from what I can do. Just give me few days from now, he'll be in camera handcuffed, confessing his sins. Reacting to the post, @gistloversgram_media debunked the rumours, revealing that the person whose detail was exposed is a police officer.
