Hi

yes in the letter he explained that the lawyer advised to put a line through the incorrect email on the online application form submitted in Lagos VI and that tlscontact had the correct email as we received an email from them saying his visa is being sent for processing etc.

I was advised today however, that it maybe quicker for me to try submitting a fresh application until a charge comes up then I can just pay it.
I tried the other day and it said 0.00USD to pay the ukvi agent i called today advised me to keep trying and make sure I am filling out the correct details.
I was wondering if it didnt charge because i put I am filling the form on behalf of someone?!

Lexusgs430:

I hope he explained the mix up in the emails and pleaded extenuating circumstances?

Let's hope the expired link, does not translate to a new application process.

@Uchman365 The MP said he can not get involved in my case like that.

FINALLY I AM GETTING SOME WHERE GUYS:

Dear ….

Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) payment needed

On 6 April 2015, the UK Government introduced a Health Surcharge payment requirement for non-EEA nationals who apply to come to the UK to work, study or join family for a period of more than 6 months. The consideration of your visa application has been deferred because you have not made that payment.

What you need to do next:

You must make the payment by visiting ………….

Please note that if the full payment is not made by 19th October 2016 then your application will be refused.  If this is the only reason for refusing your application, you will have to make a new visa application and your visa fees will not be refunded.

To prevent any further delays with processing your application, once you have made this payment please send an e-mail to ihs.sheffield@fco.gsi.gov.uk containing your name, GWF reference and the amount that you have paid for IHS.

MY HUSBAND RECEIVED THIS EMAIL TODAY TO THE ADDRESS I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET THEM TO CHANGE IT TO....HOWEVER THE ONLY THING NOW IS THAT THE LINK THEY SENT EXPIRED ON THE 19TH OCT. HE ONLY GOT THE EMAIL TODAY 31/10/2016. I HAVE GOTTEN HIM TO COMPLETE AN EMAIL REQUESTING A NEW LINK. HOPEFULLY WE GET THE NEW LINK ASAP...

PROGRESS GUYS...FINGERS CROSSED NOW AND PRAYERS UP smiley

Uchman365:

Carribeanwify, to be honest, you're almost there at the finish line. The fact that your application is still open and they're still waiting for the IHS payment after so many attempts to get in touch is quite amazing. Usually, by now they would have simply refused the visa and told you to appeal!

Also, if you can use your MP to send the correct email address to speed up the process, please do so.

Your lawyer is disgraceful, I hope you make a complaint to their trade body.

OK-Thanks
Uchman365:

None at all. It gets deleted after a while of inactivity. Just don't quote that GWF number for anything to avoid confusion.
Travel / Re: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by Caribbeanwify28: 8:37am On Oct 31, 2016
Would it cause an issue that I created a new application and have a new GWF number issued? Or is it OK because I did not pay the visa fee?
Travel / Re: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by Caribbeanwify28: 8:34am On Oct 31, 2016
Thanks for your advise. I have emailed my MP and also contacted the HO by email to say the email is incorrect and asked for a link.

Thanks for your help..

Uchman365:

I understand your frustration because I went through when I was doing my wife's IHS after a successful appeal. We were also advised to go through the application and pay it which I did but when she submitted her passport they emailed her a different link to pay for the IHS! To avoid prolonging it I just paid and then applied for a refund of the first one.

Due to the earlier problem with your husbands email address you don't have a unique link for the IHS payment which must have been in that email.

If youre able to correct the email problem, get in touch through their contact form on Visa4uk and ask them to send you a link with the correct amount to pay. The IHS payment system is just a mess and very frustrating.

Hi guys

Am I filling in something wrong on visa4uk. I just started a fresh application so that I can pay the IHS for my husband. When I got to the IHS section it said 0.00 USD and then just gave me an IHS reference. Why is it not asking me to pay I find it strange. Also it asks for details of the person you are joining or remaining with in the UK (thats me as my husband is in nigeria).
It asks what is the visa expiry. well I don't have a visa. This system is not straight forward at all. There should be another way to just pay without creating new applications all the time. angry

@Abbylove Thanks for your advice.

I'll contact the MP and see if he could find out how I need to go about this.

Thanks again.
Travel / Re: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by Caribbeanwify28: 10:08am On Oct 29, 2016
@Abbylove Thanks for your response.

We didn't receive an email staying we need to pay. My MP wrote to me and said The HO contacted him regarding the inquiry he made and told him they have been emailing my husband on numerous occasions and that he has to pay his IHS for his application to be concluded and if he doesnt pay his application would be refused.

I clearly remember in April in the lawyers office when he said he has never seen this before that we have been issued with the payment receipt without even entering my card I said to him should I ask if I had to pay since the beginning he said they will contact us if there is an issue. My husband even said when I told him that this thing will later cause an issue and it now has. The worst thing is If I didnt invlolve my MP I would not have known because the HO didnt even contact the lawyer.

The whole thing is stressful my husband left since December last year, I've now travelled to NIgeria 3 times. This year has just been so unsettled.

QUESTION: do you think I should use the same emails given above or wait until the HO get the letter of consent and communicate with me on what to do?

Abbylove:
@caribbeanwify I have been following your timeline for a while now. Am really sorry read about all the stress the lawyer is putting you and your hubby through.

Just stay strong and know all will be well.

If the IHS was not taken during the initial application it means the lawyer filled the IHS form incorrectly.

To answer your question:

No you dont have to pay the £1,300 again. Just get to the IHS payment point make payment and stop.
You would then forward the new GWF-number and the IHS reference number to the emails they provide you.

- I need to ask you though: have they specifically sent you a mail asking you to pay the IHS? The information i saw someone post is usually sent to people whose denial decision has been overturned during the review phase.

Also, to help you save time. Ask you hubby to mail them since they dont want to communicate with you without his consent. I know you got thr consent already but it wont cost anything for him to also mail them

Its really stressful going back and forth for so long.

Thanks @ Lexusgs this site has been so helpful, more than the lawyer.
I got my husband to send me a letter of consent. I posted it yesterday so I'll wait until next week to make enquires and see if they respond to me.

However, the advise from @wallg123 I'll attempt that also.

I'll keep you guys posted.

Do you think since they are requesting payment that his Visa may be successful.

Hope they are not taking it to then refund it to me.

Dear xxxxxxxx
Thank you for contacting UK Visas and Immigration international enquiry
service.
With regards to your query, please log in to your visa4uk account and
create a new application, only complete as far as the IHS portal. Once you
have paid the IHS please forward the new GWF reference number and IHS
reference number along with the old GWF to the email address your were
given.
We hope this has answered your query.

OMG Thanks so much. The lawyer does not seem to know what I need to do.

I wish I done this application myself the lawyer made so many mistakes. My husband was the one keen on using a lawyer.
the email address on the application is wrong. Tlscontact has the correct email so we received an email that the visa has been send for processing however, the online Visa application has a completely different email.

Question if I start a fresh application do I have to pay the £1300 again?
Thanks so much for your help...

dday101:

This is how I repay my IHS fee:
They asked me to start a fresh application online and when I get to the level to pay IHS fee I should pay it and stop there. After I paid I received two emails, my receipt for payment and confirmation of payment containing my IHS reference and the amount I paid.
Then I now sent a mail containing my old application reference number, my name, IHS reference number and the amount I paid to
IHS.Sheffield@fco.gov.uk and VisaSheffield@home office.gsi.gov.uk

That's all you need to do.
Good luck.

Thanks for your assistance. My husband has to give written consent to the HO for them to provide updates to me.

Luckily I contacted the MP or i would not have known the reason for the delay.

Lexusgs430:

Assuming all fails, best to send an email to the relevant department seeking direction. Stating all the means you have tried to make payments and failed (ensure you use a written medium).
Also inform your MP to assist you in requesting the best means to make payment (also informing him of all the channels you have exhausted).
Best of Luck ........................

@Lexusgs I know for a fact the payment was not taken. When I was in his office he told me that the reference has been issued before my card was even entered. I asked him if we should contact the HO and ask if there was a glitch he advised me that if there is an issue they would contact me. Well now there is clearly an issue.

So I wanted to know if anyone knows how I can go about paying now that it has gone this far.

Lexusgs430:

I remember asking you a while ago if your husband's case was straight forward? And your reply at the time was, it was fairy straightforward.
That's neither here nor there. Have you asked the solicitor for the receipt as proof of payment?
I think your first approach should be requesting from your solicitor, the online receipt of all online payments. That request should be granted within 24 hours. Assuming payments has not yet been made, we can pick brains on the best next approach.....

Hi Guys

I need URGENT URGENT advice. As you may know from my Timeline my husband did his biometric 20/04/16 and we have heard nothing back. I called HO and found out a decision has been made.
1. Yesterday I received a letter from my MP ( I contacted him to chase my hubby's visa) The told him that the case was not straightforward and was complex in nature. The claim to have contacted my husband via email on many occasions it seems they have a wrong email for my husband( the lawyer completed it incorrectly on the online form) however, Tlscontact have the correct email as my husband received the email that his visa has now been sent off.

2. The home office informed the MP that my husband has to pay the IHS charge before his case is concluded. If he doesnt pay he would be refused.
Firstly guys when I was with the lawyer he told me the payment for the IHS was done, it seems he did not pay it.

MY QUESTION IS HOW CAN I PAY THE IHS ONCE HIS VISA ONLINE HAS ALREADY BEEN PROCESSED.

SECONDLY IS IT BEST TO WRITE TO THE HOME OFFICE STATING THEY HAVE AN INCORRECT EMAIL ADDRESS. Please guys give me the best way to pay. I tried gov.uk and I cant pay there.

What are my options?
I am scared he may get refused due to the lawyers mistakes. Please can someone advise me I have been waiting 7 months now sad sad

Caribbeanwify28:
Hi guys

Just a quick update. my husbands biometric was done 20th april 2016. Todays makes 131 working days. still no email that a decison has been made.
-Called the HO on 5/10/16 was told the application has been processed and a decision was made on the 28/09/16 and the docs should be ready in a few days, we heard nothing.
-Called the HO on the 13/10/16 chasing the docs or an email that the decision has been made was told that there was an update on the decision on 12/10/16. Its really strange what is happening. Has anyone else experienced this?

Up until now my husband has not received a decision made email. I only know through call ukvi. He went to the VI immigration office yesterday and they told him they dont have his documents but they can see on the system a decision has been made.

The whole process is abnormal and emotionally draining. sad sad

Something really weird has happened. I called the HO today and the call agent said a decision was made yesterday 12.10.16. When I called last week 3.10.16 and the agent told me a decision was made on 28.09.16. The below email was received on Wednesday 5th October....Every time it's something different its 125 days working days now. My husband was expecting to return before our anniversary next week if all went well but I don't understand what is happening now. This whole process is so long!! errgghhhhh sad sad

Thank you for contacting the UK Visas and Immigration International Enquiry
Service.

I have tracked the status (GWF******* and date of birth ******) and
found that the application has been processed and a decision has been made
and it should be with you in the next few days.

Please note that your passport and documentation could still take some time
to reach you whilst being sent back from the decision making centre and
whilst other administrative formalities are completed. The visa application
centre will be in contact with you regarding the collection or delivery.

If you have purchased a courier service then your documents will be
dispatched to the delivery address you have provided. We appreciate your
patience while you wait to receive your documents.

EZAKY:

Yes i think the two week wait after decision has been is normal, the only anxiety you are experiencing is you were told too early. I got the email of decision made on the 10th and passport ready for pick up 15th , on the visa the decision was actually made on the 6th. 6th to 15th is about two weeks. So any time from now you will get the ready for collection email. Just calmdown d wait is almost over. Dont worry the decision will be favourable by God's grace. The only issue is d visa is uaually one month so my advise is your hubby sld start packing bcs he may have less than two weeks to leave .

Patience is a virtue is easier said..
My husband left here last December I have been to Nigeria 3 times this year (every three months).
The saying out of sight, out of mind is coming into play in our marriage now. It's not easy living apart. Temptation is everywhere especially on his part. The sooner he comes back the better cause separation in a marriage isn't good.

P.S he did strolled to check last friday and nothing was there.

Assuming the passport is lost, the visa cannot be lost...
I understand your expectations. Has your husband strolled to check if his passport is waiting for him at collection?

Has anyone had to wait nearly 2 weeks to get a decision made email? I called the HO, they said a decision was made on 28/09/16. They said that it could still take some time for the passport and documentation to get back. My husband is beginning to think it they have lost his passport.
This whole process is so long! I would advise anyone planning to do this settlement visa to pay priority. I wish I did because it is not worth the wait.
The biometric was done 20th April 16.
