Hi Guys

Just an update its been 118days since my husband and I have been waiting a decision on his settlement visa. I have been calling ukvi nearly every week since July and today when I called they said a decision was made on 28th September 16 so my husband is just waiting for a call or email or something.
I am so anxious, after waiting like 6 months I hope its good news. Would keep you guys posted.
P.S. wish I paid for priority the lawyers said it would only take 3 months... angry

Hey Guys

Thursday is going to make 120 days since my husband did his biometric. He went on 20th April 16.
We have not heard anything. Not even an email saying it will take longer.

My MP has contacted the HO over a month ago and still he has heard nothing. Really wished we paid priority.

Any suggestions or anyone had to wait a similar length of time?

EZAKY:
Hello all, update on my settlement visa,
March 9th application submitted online
March 11th 2016 Biometric
May 25th a not straight forward email
Afterwards long silence, by june and july , my hubby and i started calling them, and did various escalations
in july escalation reply came that they were still working on it
August 12th my hubby wrote to the MP
MP called him two days later that they have contacted home office on our behalf,
August 22nd MP wrote to my hubby with home office response that the application is on active consideration and they were still checking our financial and personal circumstance. ( note no interview was done and no additinal documents were requested)
Sept 10th got an email from UKBI that a decision has been made
Another email from TLS on the 15th that passport is ready for collection
picked up same day
VISA GRANTED... yippee, i cant thank God enough
personally i think they forgot they forgot about my application but the good thing is regardless of that in the end it worked out for my good
Total wait plus weekends and holidays 7 months, total work days excluding weekends and holiday 130 days or thereabout
it was a long and stressful wait, but it ended in praise.
Habakkuk 2 :3 is the scripture that sums it up.

Reading this has given me hope. My husband went for his Biometric on 20th April 2016. Today makes 111days. i contacted the MP last month he said he would contact me when he has heard from the HO. Every time i keep calling and doing escalations.

It's taking so long but iam still hopeful after reading your outcome. smiley

All the best Hun, my little brother was born at 24 weeks and now he's 26 and over 6ft tall. Back in the 90's hospitals weren't as developed as they are now. So your son would be absolutely fine. smiley

Hi everyone

So I have some news to share,

as I recently advised that my Son was due to be born on 23rd December, well he decided to come early, and was born on 1st September at 5.10am, weighing just 1lb 4oz, he is in NICU and in the best hospital in the UK, doing very well.

I am still in shock and was in hospital for 3 nights, I had a natural labor, with no pain relief, no complications and i have named our son Jamal Abolore, since my MIL traveled to Mecca, Saudi Arabia on the day I went into labor so the name is perfect for him smiley

May God bless us on this long and rocky road, until my son can come home Amen x

Hi Guys

Today makes 90 days since my husband and I submitted his settlement visa. The last update I received was a decision is being delayed pending further enquiries. I contacted my local MP who said on Monday that he has submitted a formal enquiry.
Does anyone on the forum have any suggestions. I keep calling the visa enquiry number they're charging me like £10 a call and still no update sad stressful times...Would just like a response now. My husband left London for Nigeria in December we applied 20th April for his settlement visa. I wish I had applied so as he left!!

Hi guys, has anyone experienced this? I called the Visa line for an update on my husband's settlement visa they escalated the case on for me. I received a reply from ukvi stating' We have received the following update from the Decision making centre on your escalated case. The email address......@gmail.com belongs to the sponsor so no information can be given without a signed letter of consent from the applicant.'

To me this is non-sense since I am the one sponsoring my husband to come here, all the financial documents relate to me why can't they give me an update. (this was received last friday 15th July) So, I called like half an hour ago and they still didn't want to give me an update so I asked for them to send the update to my husband's email address. It's now 65days and the HO don't even want to provide a status update.

Yes you then wait for another mail telling you it's ready for collection unless you opted for delivery to your address
Wow that's long.. I thought once my husband gets the decision email he could go and collect his passport the next day.

UPDATE

I got the 'decision made' email today.

Biometrics on the 21st April...waiting to pick up my passport...no refunds as of now.
Hi, after you receive the decision made email. Do you then have to wait on a date to collect your passport?

I just calculated for you and your actually only on working day 58 as of submission, overseas applications are counted from receipt in the UK

Only when you reach 60 working days (minus weekends and public holidays) I would suggest emailing them through https://www.gov.uk/contact-ukvi-outside-uk and if you get a standard response, then contact your local MP who can check on your behalf.

Hi guys, my husband's settlement visa is now on 63 working days, the biometric was done 20th April. I emailed UKVI on my husbands behalf yesterday and received a reply this morning stating.."I have tracked the status and found that a decision on your application has been delayed whilst further enquiries are being conducted." The waiting is so hard... They've had 63 days to enquire I don't understand what is taking so long. So annoying erghhh

Hello everyone, I'm new on here and it's my first post today! Yay!! Don't get me wrong though, I occasionally come on here to read news and comments! The comments are hilarious and usually makes my day!

I am writing today to seek for advice from the well informed and knowledgeable people on this forum. My issue is with regards to the UK spouse visa.

Basically, I'm wanting to gather as much information as possible to enable me plan my life in advance so as to know the best time to apply for a visa for my fiancé.

I currently live in the UK and a full time student too(British citizen). I work most weekends too averaging a total of 11.30 hours per week. I have consulted gov.uk for visa information and it seems I am ineligible to apply for my fiancé. Well, we're going to get married before making any application.

Having done some research online, I realised I didn't meet the financial requirement as I am a full time student. So here's my question, is there a different way I can go about this? I don't want wait till I graduate before inviting my fiancé over as the duration of my course is long. Again, I know it will be more stressful to me then.

P.S: I am full time student and a British citizen too. I'd like to know if there are alternative ways of my husband to be joining me before graduating from University.
Hiya, I am quite new to this as well. However, I do believe if you don't meet the financial requirements with regards to employment, if you have a certain amount of savings that could also be used. It's worth having a look into. Because even if you start working full time you'll still need to gather like 6 months worth of payslips etc

If your IHS has not be returned you are on track for a good news.
Thanks..

Overdraft does not matter.. what matters is if you meet the financial requirement ...

I meet the financial requirement, I have provided all the payslips etc.. We submitted on 20th April and still no update, tommorrow will make it 12 weeks. How long should I wait before calling them? I called last week and spent over £20 on one call for them to say they will escalate as there is no progression.

Home office don't care about your account balance, the main thing is if you meet the financial requirements through your payslips and bank statement showing your salary coming into your account that's all.

Hi Guys,
Is it possible to get refused a settlement visa because you have an overdraft or you're in your overdraft?

I thought the HO was just checking that you meet the salary requirements, not sieving through your bank statments.

Hiya, can someone please give me some advice. I am sponsoring my husband to return to the UK. He did his biometric on the 20th April, 2016. I calculated that wednesday 13th July would make it 12weeks. I've been checking the tlscontact website it hasn't been updated in weeks. I called the visa update line last week they said it's to be assessed by a ECO and that they will escalate the case. Still no news..

Any suggestions of how I can chase this up or should I just wait until after the 12 weeks have passed?

Hi Guys

I've been following this forum for a few weeks now and I've finally joined, YAY!

Basically my husband left for Nigeria 27th November 2015. He submitted his biometric on 20th April 2016, so I think we have like 3 weeks to wait for a response hopefully?!

Has anyone used the tracking service on TLScontact? is it up-to-date?
