rinzaugustine: Most of the luxury cars he is seeing are the proceeds of crime. You don’t have to become a criminal scamming people online to drive a luxurious car in a western country as good credit takes care of that as long as you are working . He should visit Abuja. Lagos is an unplanned chaotic city , full of traffic jams, no drainages, loud noise and those smelly black water dirty creeks a simple water management expertise would have easily taken care. He should have visited the serene villages of Oshun, Oshogbo, Ado ekiti , Akure, Ibadan villages to enjoy Nigeria This sad thing should shut up! |

Family › Re: Don't Make These Mistakes: 24 Bitter Lessons I Learned In 2024. by Caseless: 7:58am On Jan 03, 2025 |
CaveAdullam: 1. When you have verified that someone genuinely loves you, don't break that person's heart. Choose death rather. Or, end the relationship early.
Because not all lovers are weak. Betrayal may trigger their vindictive instinct and they'll come for your jugular like a vampire.
2. Don't bank on promises.
See promises as mere talk. Never abandon your path because someone promised you a brighter future.
3. Have a clear map of what you are doing. Have a plan.
What do you want in life?
Once you answer that question, you'll be able to see all the channels that lead to your destination.
4. Don't care what people will say.
They will mock you. They will ridicule you.
Don't pay attention to their statements. Follow your plan to the end.
5. Seek truth.
If your heart is always in the pursuit of truth, you'll gain knowledge and learn wisdom.
You don't need a preacher or counselor to constantly be on your doorposts advising you.
6. Appreciate beauty.
Stay away from ugliness of any form. Ugliness will always make you dwell on the negative side of life.
Appreciate beautiful nature. Stare at beautiful people and architecture.
7. Be kind.
8. Eye for eye. Tooth for tooth.
Don't allow criminals or sociopaths to go scot-free.
Forgiveness should come after punishment.
9. Learn to see the light in people.
No one is utterly useless.
However, don't pay attention to the unrepentant fool.
10. Learn to provide value.
Value will give you what you want or attract you to the people you admire.
11. Don't beg for food.
Don't beg for money.
Better to die poor and broke than to become a beggar.
Refuse to see begging as your last option.
Your ego should block you from begging.
It is better to do the dirtiest and most dangerous work to put food on your table than beg people.
Begging will hinder you from creating value and achieving freedom.
12. Always be optimistic.
No matter how tragic your travails are, be optimistic that one day you'll overcome.
Pessimism is a joy spoiler. You'll end up corrupting your soul and never see good in yourself or others.
13. Don't be an introvert.
Be part of a community.
No man is an island. Among others, you'll find a solution to some of your problems.
14. Learn to give. Be hesitant to receive.
The giver is always higher than the receiver.
Givers are lords over receivers. Just as it is better to be a lender than a borrower.
15. Dress nice. Smell nice.
Luxury isn't only in the cost. How you wear luxury matters.
Hardly anybody will ask you the cost of your shoes and clothes. So, you don't need to break the bank.
16. Life is a marathon. But it's better to run like a cheetah than walk like a snail.
Resources in life are scarce; first come, first serve.
Make smart moves always.
17. Avoid procrastination.
What needs to be done today should not be carried over to tomorrow. Because tomorrow might be too late.
18. Think in years, not days, weeks, or months.
This will help you know how to calibrate your time and work.
If I continue doing this for 5 years where will I be in the next 5 years?
It's important to curtail your foolishness early.
19. Hope is not a strategy.
Good work is.
Make sure you are doing something meaningful instead of wishing for a pool of Bethsaida miracles.
Those who work have no fear of the future.
20. Value people that value you.
Don't waste time on people who see you as trash. Except you are making money from them. However, dignity is better than the price of labor.
21. Don't just learn a skill.
Learn a skill you can easily leverage before the big success.
22. Humans are cunning and manipulative. Even you.
Learn to understand the game. And learn to protect your integrity.
23. People want you to fail. Because your failure will prove their points against you.
It's more reason you must work hard to prove them wrong.
They are your motivating factor for success, albeit from a contradictory angle.
24. Don't be afraid of failure.
You'll fail. So, allow yourself to fail.
Failure is part of progress. Life circumstances are not linear. It's haphazard and random.
Failure will teach you a good lesson.
Thanks. Sumptuous!!! Thank you! |

Politics › Re: Tinubu Named THISDAY Man Of The Year For Resilience And Bold Reforms by Caseless: 2:06am On Jan 03, 2025 |
emkz: What are the lessons?
Recall that during the 2022 to 2023 presidential campaigns, Arise News and ThisDay used every opportunity to attack Tinubu.
Ms Ojynika Ojy Ope brought every Tinubu's gaffe to amplify on her gossip segment of their morning show. Rufai Oseni said all sorts and asked Tinubu to bring himself to their studios so he (Rufai Oseni) could cross-examine him. Tundun Abiola abused people who spoke for Tinubu. Abati sometimes got carried away and joined the fray. Even their proprietor wrote a scathing release where he specifically said that Nigeria must avoid a "Noriega moment", in reference to Tinubu's unproven drug dealings. That press release was in bad taste that the duo of Dele Alake and Bayo Onanuga took the owner of Arise News to the cleaners over his unethical business practices. The owner of Arise News even tried to control public opinion by insisting Tinubu must be interviewed by them or other media house.
We must remember that the media house gave positive press coverage to PDP, Atiku, LP, Peter Obi and Godwin Emefiele as the latter contributed his quota to bury tye Nigerian economy.
They even lied that APC Presidential Campaigns had asked ThisDay/Arise Media Group to remove Rufai Oseni from the Morning Show and Shaka Momodu as ThisDay Editor in favour of patronage should Tinubu win.
After the heat from Bayo Onanuga and Dele Alake, Newspaper Proprietors Association of Nigeria had to intervene to reach a settlement as the owner of ThisDay/Arise found himself in hot water.
The morning after the results were declared, Rufai Oseni exhibited a sad and forlorn look as he could not conceal his pain.
Following Tinubu's victory, they brought all sorts of human beings to their media station to discredit the elections and discuss a matter in a court. When all that failed and the handwriting on the wall was clear, their boss started making moves to ingratiate himself to the leaders of the day. For example, he invited himself to attend a Nigeria-Saudi Investment Forum to catch the eye of the president.
Only recently, they tried to discredit the coastal highway by jumping from one issue to another without questioning someone for allocating public land to himself.
What has changed from the antagonistic media group to bromancing the president?
What are the lessons:
1. Put your eye on the ball and believe in what you do and do what you are convinced in. Had Tinubu allowed himself to be misled to the biased media group, they'd have messed him up.
2. Many organizations take editorial decisions to favour the business interests of their owners. Do not be deceived that they are giving a voice to you or your feelings. They are doing what is politically expedient at that time.
3. I think it is unethical for a media house to dish out awards. A media is a business, but how can they be objective in coverage when they give awards to people they ought to report?
4. How come Channels TV, TVC, NTA, VOA et al do not give awards to people?
5. It is clearly a battle of business survival which makes this award in bad taste, unethical and unacceptable.
Let's look into the future:
1. Atiku and Obi would condemn ThisDay/Arise for giving Tinubu the award.
2. Tinubu should thank them and reject it.
3. I am ashamed of Tinubu's enemies eating their words. Why can't they stand by what they claimed to have believed? When I saw that "Man of the year" award from this day and I saw the same people criticising him or his policies also speaking for him, I knew they're doing the business. Funny enough, Rufai was not in the show that morning - they will force him to speak glowingly of the president and he might contradict himself in another show, so he took a break from the show. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that the award came from them. Like what's happening to Fox when Trump won - their candidate won and their share jumped. It's business. |

Sounds more like someone trying to cover up after his ulterior plan failed. He probably underestimated the outrage & backlash from SM over the missing ₦180m claim. He needs to present evidence of him planning this with someone reputable to prove it was a prank to clear his name. He has a reputation to protect and he shouldn't have traded that for anything.
