He will be president till 2019 at 77 years. • Nelson Mandela, born in 1918, became President of South Africa in 1994 at the age of 76. Still president in 1998 when he stepped down for Mbeki at the age of 80. If he had served two terms, he would have been 84. • President Peter Mutharika of Malawi was 74 when he was sworn in on 31 May, 2014. He will be president till 2019 at 79. • President Alpha Conde of Guinea is now 76 years old. He was sworn-in in December 2011when he was at 72. • President Jose Eduardo Santos of Angola is 72. He assumed office in 2011 at age 84. • Karolos Papoulias president of Greece is 85 years old. He assumed office in 2005 at age 76. • Anerood Jugnauth Prime Minister of Mauritius is 84 years old. He assumed office in 2003 at age 68. • Mahmud Abbas of Palestine is 79 years old. He assumed office in 2005 at age 70. • Shimon Peres of Isreal was 90 at the time his term ended in 2014. • Eamon De Valera of Ireland was 90 years when his term ended in 1973. • Joaquin Balague of Domican Republic was 89years old when his term ended in 1996 • Giorgio Napolitano of Italy was 89 years old when he resigned from government in 2015 • Luis Alberto Sánchez Prime Minister of Peru was 88years old when he resigned his appointment in 1989. • Girma Wolde-Giorgis of Ethiopia was 88 years old when his term ended in 2013. • Sandro Pertini of Italy was 88 years old when his term ended in 1985. Also, • Obafemi Awolowo was 74 during his last attempt at presidency in 1983. • Nnamdi Azikiwe was 79 when he contested for presidency in 1983. In conclusion, I am not an apostle for recycling old politicians but I am averse to people like Ayo Fayose pushing twisted and one-sided history in our faces. I just want to show that all over the world senior citizens get elected and most of them see their tenure through. In fact a few of them die in office. Only Tôn Đức Thắng of Vietnam died in office. You can research this fact. Ironically none of dead presidents on Fayose’s statics in the Punch was up to 70 as at the time of their death. This shows how confused this Ekiti governor is. Please let us contribute to knowledge, the fact that some elements are privileged to be in seat of power doesn’t mean we cannot engage intelligently. People like Ayo Fayose should be told that the white didn’t hide things in books for black people like us. Let the game continue, we will serve them while it is hot. this is deep and rich. |

doctokwus: Not bad.Quite intrigued that despite d good margins u gave pdp in states like edo, lagos and d ss and se states,d margin of victory of apc is still about 5m. It just buttresses all d facts on the ground that as long as d elections hold with the voter population in d staes as given by INEC,PDP just cannot win this election! Even if it decides to rig with d same total numb of voters and giving itself liberal margins in its strongholds,it just doesn't have d numbers to win. The only way pdp can win this election is if it can invent electorate numbers far above that published by inec, but of course that is a sure recipee for d kind of crisis,d outcome of which nobody can predict. i'l hang the portrait picture of gej in my room forever if he allow the election to be free , fair and credible and accept defeat as projected here. |

BizBooks: @ Jorussia & @Gogetta,
If Edo, Kogi and Niger are moved to Buhari's column, that will increase his margin of victory. I'm looking for people who have contrarian views (ie those who think that I gave Buhari states that Jonathan will win).
P.S: Despite the best efforts of Rochas, I do not think that Buhari will get up to 25% of the votes in Imo State. any state that buhari is not going to win, he shall make 25% there. |

BizBooks: It is becoming clearer that Jonathan will not win Kwara. So I will move Kwara from Jonathan to Buhari. But people in Edo are confident Buhari will win Edo. Also I don't see Jonathan winning Adamawa, Taraba or any other state living in fear of Boko Haram. somebody saying gej will win adamawa, taraba appear funny to me. |

Jarus: Jonathan can never win Kwara!!!! That I am sure of.
Meanwhile, I see 18-18 in this election.
Move Edo, Ondo, Adamawa and Taraba to Jonathan and Kwara and Niger to Buhari. (even in 2011, Buhari won Niger). he should move taraba , adamawa and edo to jonathan? On what ground? |
Politics › Re: Prediction: Buhari Will Defeat Jonathan in the Presidential Elections (Maybe Not by Caseless: 4:27pm On Jan 25, 2015 |
Gogetta: Remove Ekiti from Buhari's list and kogi,Niger from Jonathan. Buhari won Niger in 2011. As for kogi I presume you didn't watch the rally last week. Buhari will also score at least 25% in Benue, Plateau,Edo,Imo and Rivers states. Buhari will also win the FCT. Buhari:22, GEJ:15. #myanalysis ekiti is going to apc. Actions of Fayose in that state is giving the apc an indirect campaign. Ofcourse, you heard the reaction of his people- they regret ever voting him. I'm sure u saw apc rally in ekiti state. |

Such recklessness is not needed in leadership.
GMB 2015 is a reality. hmmm... And he couldnt ask his boys to hold until apc holds its campaign in that city like they(boko haram) held back for pdp to hold its campaign. |
