A 46-year-old man, Olusegun Daudu, on Friday appeared in an Osogbo Magistrates’ Court charged with N470, 000 visa fraud. Daudu, who is facing two counts bordering on fraud, pleaded not guilty.

Prosecutor, Bab Sambo, of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, told the court that the accused committed the offences sometime in 2014 between June and July in Osogbo.

Sambo said Daudu collected N350,000 from the complainant, Adebayo Olowofela, with a promise to help him get an American visa.
According to NAN the accused also collected N120,000 from another complainant, Adekunle Olowofela, for the same purpose. The accused had been on the run before he was recently arrested at Oke-Baba Abiye, Ede in Osun.

Following the accused’s plea of ‘not guilty,’ Magistrate Taofeeq Badmus granted him N500,000 bail with one surety in like sum

Badmus said the surety must be resident within the court’s jurisdiction with an evidence of tax payment.

Hearing in the case has been fixed for August 13.

I came online, and saw the funny story on a wall.A lot of comments were coming up under that post of this lady. I decided to just have a little fun with them to also put up a comment there. What happened was that I decided to put up a comment under the post just as every other person was commenting. But since I felt that this thing must be a comedy, I said that let me make the story more interesting to generate a healthy discussion because I felt it is an interesting story. So I felt that I should make a comment that would generate a healthy discussion, a healthy debate concerning the story I met on that my friend’s wall for people to share their views. Then I dropped a comment under that post.
I now made a comment that “Ahh, I didn’t slap her because of four eggs. I slapped her because she threw away the remaining three eggs when I removed one egg”. Like I said, my intention was misunderstood.

No girl came to my house and such didn’t happen. To the best of my knowledge I have tried my possible best to find out the origin of that story. I have also come to realize that the story is just fictitious. It is just fiction. Just to draw people’s attention. It’s just fiction.

The family of Joe Blankson a 36-year-old man has been thrown into moruning following his painful death in Rivers state.

Joe a contractor who supplies diesel died while rescuing victims of a boat accident on Saturday, He had single-handedly rescued 13 people when a boat capsized along the Abonnema-Bakana waterways in Degema, Rivers state.

Fishermen around the area rescued some people while Blankson succeeded in rescuing 13 people all on his own.
As the father-of-two attempted to rescue a 14th person, he died in the river and his body was retrieved a day later.

In all, six people died in the boat mishap, according to eyewitness reports. But the state Police Public Relations Officer, Nnamdi Omoni, insisted that only one person died in the accident and not six.

It is believed Blackson might have died of exhaustion after going multiple times to save 13 people.

Residents of Bakama in the Degema Local Government Area of Rivers State have hailed the young father a hero for his selfless act which cost him his life.

The boat was conveying 25 passengers from Abonnema wharf to Bakana before the accident happened around Iborama.
