My prospective colleagues, I greet you all. NIMC is working so keep drinking from the ocean of patience. Heard the river is almost dry.

The Punch Newspaper of today page 42 invites representatives of LGAs and others to a summit to enlighten them of the enrollment exercise and activities as well as implementation of NIMS across the nation.

When we mentioned likely issues why our apl is being delayed, THIS is part of it. The enrollment officers cannot be deployed to a place not ready or that doesn't understand their relevance or assignment.

So please be patient. We do not fully understand the magnitude of the assignment we're going to undertake, inclusive of those that have undergone training. There may yet be other things and processes to be put in place besides infrastructure.

On a different but related issue, you may look up Federal Ministry of Interior Vacancy on page 53 (http://recruitment.cdfipb.gov.ng

Good luck y'all

I respectfully respond to concerns.

Submission of budget doesn't translate to automatic approval. Neither does approval translate to budget release. Realistically, can anyone mention a govt establishment that has received budget for this fiscal year? Not the autonomous ones mind you.

Nimc is equipping its state offices through due process which ensures the funds voted for that activity within the budget year is not lost. This process can be implemented without released funds through e-payment from the federal pay office. Besides, why acquire recurring expenses without the necessary infrastructure in place!

This is in addition to 3-5 years strategic plans submitted by each govt office for approval to capture future plans, expected output and impact, and a comparison to past years activities. So be assured that govt offices, nimc inclusive, has plans for its workforce.

Another important point to note though is what your apl will read: '... agree to do all your assignment and any other as directed by ...'

This clause can undo your ability to take initiative as a civil servant. There is a line of reporting (beaurocracy really) which slows down one's work pace. If you are a go-getter with an ultra slow supervising officer, then prayers is your only hope. You simply cannot do the right thing until it is signed and approved by the Ogah at the top who may be unaware of happenings in your remote (back) office. So please, unable take chill pills when suggesting drastic changes to a system that was.

My candid suggestion, get the job, understand the system, know your level of influence, then make plans to act, not before.

It is regrettable that peolple had to let go of their jobs to partake in the nimc process. Have no fear. And do not relent. The darkest hour is before dawn.

God bless us all.

drawclose:

it is well! whose report we go come believe na? some said a reliable source inform them APL will 'start flying this week/next week'. some said reliable source said 'Oga is yet to sign". Now source said we should 'go drink water of patient'. if you ask me, this last source statement is ambiguous; becos eeh fit be next year sef. make una activate plan B Ohooo. secondary school is about to resume. Those that have nothing doing, pls go out and drop ur Cvs. i did that last week and i will be resuming with a particular school this month as a teacher. man must chop irrespective of Nimc delay.

NIMC i dey watch una for 3D.

You are on point. I couldn't have said it better. But really, I wouldn't want to believe there are persons on this thread without a plan B. We have reiterated, countless number of times, the need to look elsewhere, consider other opportunities and remove pressure and tension since nimc is neither the beginning or end of the world.

And speaking of opportunities, federal civil service commission is still recruiting. So is society for family health among other reputable organizations. For the business inclined, consider submitting a business proposal to youwin.org.ng. Who knows, you may win up to 10m for your viable and innovative business idea.

So while we wait for nimc,(the process may go beyond this year, according to speculation, please explore other options like eastermaris andothers. Congrats to you all.

Even Calculus, you know what to do. That I believe strongly. Get the job. Dont because of speculation or unconfirmed claims loose a scarce opportunity to put meals on your table. Dis na naija o!

Hello house. Does feel good to say hi since my hibernation. Been reading the thread from the background.
I'm glad we're done with the training for those who partook in it. I must confess it did bring about a lot of bad blood and e wars since some were still hopeful for invites, those who had undergone the interview (category I fall into) were waiting for the next step and all we were being fed was interview gist: wetin una want person to do.

Anyway, I like the analysis and perspectives of personal views of anticipated moves by nimc which seems to be where we are back to now so please guys, dont kill this thread by moving your analysis somewhere else.

Bringing us back to memory lane, I recall when we all yearned for information on the interview session. Then the heat also went to high expectations for invitation to the interview. Everyone had a say. We held hands (virtually) in prayer and became each others strength. I know a lot of people who started this thread have left because of several reasons including being unsuccessful in the recruitment process but we're still here.

My point: remember where you are coming from, how the journey started, all that has transpired etc.

Una no mind me cos I can be like this sometimes.

So in the spirit of oneness, (I dont care what nimc officials told you during training o! however, keep your real identity secure) can the founding fathers of this thread come back to life.

Indeed life is a mystery.
Not meaning to wake up sleeping dogs, but what is the fight about!
Everyone knows that Government job doesn't pay much however, it offers one job security and for some, time to do something else on the side. I started working on a Federal job with 22k gross salary, then my uncle two levels higher than I was earning 18k. The man get wife and two kids then. But I now earn almost 120k 10yrs on. My point is, everyone has preferences. Nairaland avails everyone opportunity to freely air one's view and for others to express their feeling's about everything (unfortunately with or without respect). Anyway, for those who believe government job doesn't offer much for salary, please don't block road for others who sincerely needs the job because they truly need it not for the financial gain but as a means to pay their immediate bills for survival. Kindly tell NIMC you are not interested so they can invite their team.

Private organizations boku wey fit pay you millions nah. Why block oda people chance?
Disappointment in the salary na your pocket matter. I don't think people on this thread are interested in your being disappointed at the salary offer. We are on this thread to be each other's strength. somehow we have formed a bond that can be likened to a family. Bringing down the house because of the salary projection ( government approved salary scale) is just very low in my opinion.

Anyway @Shiloh, I dey your side. Person say im no de your class yet e de look for job, wetin you wan make of such claims! Person wey no de your class suppose fit employ nah rather than de wyn tongue sey we no suppose de think of Government job cos of d pay. Abeg let's talk of sumtin beta b4 Low in mind classless individuals pour hot oil for our body in the guise of making us believe they've got it all.

I don hibernate again.

shiloh: @felo..pls will they give u guys APL after training and also is native allowed as dressing?? Cos me I no undstand dis strictly suit talk oo. Tanks
Hello house. I de hibernate since. Just so you know, the Nigerian Civil Service has a dress code classified as corporate. It includes suits and native wears. For native wears, one must wear a complete attire, the top, down and head. Guys put on a cap or hat to be regarded as corporately dressed. Ladies, a scarf or similar thing. This was also observed during the interview. People wear sari attend the gig. So my dear, wear what you are comfortable with, so long as it is a complete attire. I de hibernate again till my invite for resumption come. Cheers

Congrats Shiloh. God is indeed faithful.

There is much speculation that all called for interview will be selected for the job depending upon successful screening of their certificates/credentials and clean background check report as well as good performance at the training. Anyway, as long as you didn't forge anything about you to get through to the interview stage, you need fear no tripping. If you made the aptitude test, you will surely survive the gruelling training session. Calm your nerves. It a public service recruitment process.

HOUSE, NA WA FOR UNA O!
Una don take training cover our mouth.
Anyway, I updated the house yesterday about my experience at the interview and I am going to tell it all today.
After the digestive and hobnobs, garnished with hot and cold water, and some milkose, we were ushered upstairs to the interview venue. We waited another one hour before all six of us were ushered in according to the pre-assigned number.
Nothing much to it, its a typical civil service promotion interview style. if you are fortunate to be no.6, then all hope for you is not lost.

Questions thrown at no.1 gets answered by nos2, 3,..6.
Tell us about urself starting from ur degree, work experience and how that makes u fit for the post u applied for.
What do u know about NIMC
What do u understand by NID and its importance for the socioeconomic development of the nation
Mention 5 states in North east Nigeria
Mention 4 rivers and the states named after them in Nigeria
What is ur salary expectation
Should we find u not suitable for this post, can we recommend u for a lower post

You'll also be given an opportunity to ask them questions or make comments.
Goodluck to those invited for interview. Hope this helps.

I don't know why its so difficult at this stage to do what i'm doing.
Don't forget to read up things about the post u applied for (some people actually have forgotten what they applied for) and its relevance to the NIMC

Your observation(s )are by no way in doubt as to objectively affect NIMC credibility. This might be reasons why Most CBT or FG recruitment Exams aren't displayed.

1. Federal xter- If not for Fed Xter, 1-3 states might take all the positions at the detriment of other states. Hence, one from Imo or Kaduna state might score 60 & fail while one might score 45 from Zamfara & pass it.

2. To reduce the pain of ple that 'fail' not because they didn't do better but because their state Applicants were many or too competitive.

3. To reduce unnecessary legal tussle.

4. To accommodate the Nigerian factor.

We're not saying the Whole Exercise is perfect or 100% but it's above 60% quite unlike the country we all knew thus,it's worthy of commendation in this our clime. Intensify in ur prayers u might still be called cos is not over yet as many didn't showed up during the Interview. Good luck!

It amazes me when someone consoles himself with deception of godfatherism as the cause for failure.
Chyna4luv: Are You Kidding me? If They Have Finished Calling all Who Applied For the Same Post As You, Why try to paint the process black? I Dont know anyone There but I was Shortlisted For Both the test and interview. Does that make It less credible?

Recall the Posts were over subscribed. They Will look for a way To Select the actual Number of applicants translating to Successes And failures. Be Bold And read Correctly the Writing On The wall. Look for Other Opportunities. Develop Yourself. Take Up Courses Online. There are so Many Free Ones Available. Check Out Coursera.org, edx.org, hplife.com, Etc. Also Consider Competing For 10million naira grant In the youwin programme (youwin.org.ng).

Not necessarily. Most successful applicants are only registering their businesses now because it is mandatory to do so as a winner and not before applying. The most important thing is to decide to participate. Identify the field of interest and start your research. You must understand your industry, the market, and how to propose an innovation over the existing trend. The organizers will want to ascertain that you know what you want, and that you are enthusiastic about it, have given it serious thought and can deliver and sustain it over the years.

And do not listen to people who claim its on a man-know-man basis. I can personally vouch that you need not know anybody (except God) to succeed. Be determined and observe the rules guiding the competition.

When they talk about an innovation, it must not be a new product or service. It could be that you are doing things differently or more efficiently that the norm.

For starters, identify a need or problem you can solve, not necessarily easily. Ensure there is a problem that needs solving. It could be in education (teaching children their native languages via DVD. Think in the line of the cartoon character Dora or Barney), Franchise operations in services (Mr Biggs, ICT education, Laundry, Edutainment) or even to expand an existing business. So long as you are not dealing arms, producing alcoholic beverages or contributing to human trafficking of child abuse, you are good to go.

The third round is the final round of a 3 year competitive grant proposal project of the GEJ administration. Some call it National Cake, others say it is fraud. I like to call it a timely intervention. However you wish to see it, there will always be winners. You may choose to sit on the fence, or jump in. You cant float. Its your choice, Really.

Successful women in the youwin women 2012 of the North Central zone on June 25th 2013 took part in the signing ceremony to legally formalize the grant process. The ceremony which took place at the Federal Ministry of Finance building at Abuja was well attended by the provisional winners.

Youth with innovation in Nigeria (YouWin) is a competitive grant proposal instituted by the Federal government of Nigeria.
Nigerian youths between ages 18 and 45 who are graduates submit their innovative business ideas worth between 1 and 10 million naira.
This is the second of a series of 3 grants. The third and final call submission may come up in September this year. So start researching your interest and ideas. You never can tell. It could be you. The programme is transparent, merit-based and highly competitive.

MY DEAR, IT IS WISE TO TELL YOURSELF THE TRUTH IN THIS CASE. THE SALARY IS CONSOLIDATED SO 81K IS ALL YOU GET MONTHLY. HOWEVER LUCK MAY SMILE DOWN ON YOU AND YOU GET SENT ON AN OFF SITE TRAINING OR PROGRAMME, ONLY THEN CAN YOU GET A DUTY TOUR ALLOWANCE. IF INTERNATIONAL, YOU GET AN ESTA CODE. BUT PLEASE ZERO YOUR MIND ON YOUR CONSOLIDATED SALARY. MOST PEOPLE WITH OVER 10YRS IN SERVICE EXPERIENCE HAVE NEVER ENJOYED A DTA.
