It Is Not That These Men Were Oblivious Of Jonathan's Efforts In All Sectors. They Only Conspired To Bring Him Down At All Cost. Now He's President-Elect, He'd Commend Anything Jonathan. Had He Been Beaten At The Polls, You Bet Jonathan Would Be Called All Sort Of Names For Not Hitting South Africa. We'd All See The End. |

PassingShot: Okorocha's argument is very spot on.
It is the number of PVC's collected that should be considered in arriving at a decision on whether a rerun is required in the affected LG or not.
If PVC's collected is less than the gap between him and Iheodia, there is no point in wasting resources for another election there.
Even by considering the registered voters, you do not expect a 70% turnout on election date and it is also save to say that Okorocha will get at least 50% of the votes in the LG affected since it is his stronghold area.
No how you spin this, APC's Okorocha has won this election. Sir, The Law Considers Registered Voters And Not Number Of PVC Collected. When You Ask For Rule Of Law, Allow It Apply Irrespective Of Bias And Affiliations. If He Wins In The End, We'd All Be Happy Atleast The Law Was Followed. |

Flets: Posterity will judge GEJ fairly.
Providence brought you this far sir, Congrats for writing your name in gold.
Your best wishes for this country was never hidden as we saw in your achievements in almost all sectors, roads, bridges, railways, agriculture, automobile, alamajiri schools, new universities, fertilizer and ghost worker scam elimination, freedom of press, FOI, free and fair elections, power sector.....etc
Even until late, you kept Nigeria first and saved Nigeria from impending anarchy that could have trailed a tribunal or election rejection even when you could.
You were not as forceful as Nigerians wished because of our years of military rule. We lacked patience to see your policies come into tangible fruition. You were grossly misunderstood and propaganda from the opposition camp fuelled the government apathy of the impatient populace.
I will always maintain that you are Nigeria's best president. We were few months away from implementing the confab report that would have enthroned true federalism which would have set us on the path of recovery and greatness.
I am certain posterity will judge you fairly. Through all the insults, you never reacted. You gave all freedom like we've never seen before.
IF WE MUST PRACTICE DEMOCRACY, YOU ARE THE TEMPLATE.
I don't think you lost this election, you are just a victim of a sectional majority and Nigeria actually lost you instead.
I know we Nigerians are an impatient lot with unachievable high hopes for the incoming government. In few months time, after our hopes have been met with reality. ... then we shall sing your praises.
Whenever the history of this country will be written, your section will be in gold.
Go with your head up high, even you opponents would not have taken the step you took on this journey.
You remain my HERO. You Made Me Cry Man. You're So Apt. Your Words Are Like Marble And They're About The Best Of Choices To Describe This Misunderstood Gentleman. Granted, The Election Was Lost Long Before Voting When Opposition Ganged Up Against Him. He'd Everything At His Beck&Call To Crush And Subjugate Any Opposition, But He Towed The Path Of Peace. I Don't Know Any Nigerian Who's As Peaceful, Not Myself. God Bless President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR. God Bless You For A Wonderful Tribute. God Bless Nigerians And Nigeria. |

Calculia: Three days to the presidential and National Assembly election, a total of 153,185 Permanent Voter Cards for registered voters in Ogun State are still being expected on Tuesday.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner, Independent National Electoral Commission in the state, Chief Timothy Ibitoye, confirmed this in a telephone interview with our correspondent.
He said,”We are still expecting the balance of 153,185 PVCs for the state are yet to be collected from Abuja.
“Meanwhile, our head of Information Communication Technology is in Abuja and we are expecting him with the remaining PVCs today or tomorrow(Wednesday).
“You know, the chairman has said the collection of PVCs has been extended till Wednesday.
The total registered voters in the state are 1,795,794, while the total number received from Abuja so far is 1,642,607.
The total number distributed is 1,136,003, and the number that remained uncollected is 506,604.
The percentage recorded on the number of PVCs collected based on the number received is 69 per cent, while the percentage recorded on PVCs collected based on registered voters is 63.3 per cent.
The state governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, had condemned the piecemeal nature in which PVCs were released to the state by INEC.
He also alleged that over 600,000 ‘strange’ PVCs, brought to the state by the commission, did not belong to the people of the state.
703,492 voters yet to collect PVC in Oyo- INEC Posted by: Group in News Update 2 days ago
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has disclosed that 703,492 Permanent Voters Card (PVC) are yet to be collected in Oyo State. The Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Dr Rufus Akeju disclosed this shortly after a crucial meeting of Inter-Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCES), held at the agency’s conference room, Ibadan. “We have collected 2,381,102 permanent voters’ cards, out of which we have giving to the rightful owners 1,677,610. We still have at hand 703,492 PVC that are yet to be collected by eligible voters. “The sensitive materials will be moved to the 351 registration areas of the state on Friday, 27th March, while the poll officials too will also move into the camps in order to ensure timely arrival at the voting points on Saturday 28th March. We have 5,620 voting points and they must be adequately protected in order to assure voters of their safety while casting votes,” he said According to him, apart from that, only yesterday we received another 13,000 PVC’s from Abuja, and only those that were received from two weeks ago till date will be distributed. The Oyo REC said different types of identification to be used by all categories of ad-hoc personnel will be sighted at the meeting with the security chiefs in the state in order to reduce problems arising from identification. According to him, we have packaged documents that will assist the security agencies in the task of mobilization and deployment of their personnel. Akeju promised that the agency is working round the clock to ensure the safety of the registered voters during the election. Also addressing journalist shortly after the meeting on behalf of other security chiefs the state, Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Muhammad Katsina assured the members of the public that the atmosphere will be peaceful before, during and after the general elections. “We have deliberated here extensively and we are determined to maintain law and order. We want to inform members of the public that we will spare nobody that causes breakdown of law and order. With the morale of our men on ground we are certain that Oyo State will be a good reference point after the conduct of the election,” he said
