One more thing.

Empires emerged from large cities.

It all starts with a CITY.

Where a large concentration of people are drawn to a particular place, for whatever reason, be it water, soil fertility, trade, ANYTHING, a city eventually forms.

As that city grows, the leaders realise they need external resources to sustain the city. That’s when they develop an imperialist mindset, and seek control over more of the surrounding territory.

It wasn’t a hard sell to get local smaller villages and towns to want to join the new empire in the making.

Many actually craved to belong to them, and welcomed being part of it.

So it wasn’t all black and white as you see it.

Igbos did not form an empire simply because the conditions I described above which cause CITIES to arise, did not occur.

There was no great concentration of people in a particular location which drew people from far and wide, so as to form a city, that would have evolved into an empire. Access (or lack of it) to resources was evenly spread across the region, negating a need for agglomeration in a city. And no city, no empire.

All that talk about Igbo republicanism being the cause is inaccurate.

Cultures were dynamic, and could change when conditions dictated it.

This is not true, especially in Africa.

Many of these empires were formed slowly as large communities turned larger and acquired more territory by offering smaller neighbours military protection and other benefits of belonging to a centralised entity, such as public works, in return for their annual or quarterly tributes, what we would call taxes today.

Each of the regions had their representatives in the empire’s capital, and in their respective regions, and had AUTONOMY on how they chose to rule themselves, and over their resources.

Even when territory was acquired through invasions, these liberties were still granted the conquered territories.

Nothing concerns corruption with this, there's corruption but they are constructing roads, they should have left the roads because there's corruption.

The African nations need development finance and investment to take their economies to a certain level of self-sufficiency.

And they NEED partners in the west and beyond to help them achieve that.

If YOU became the president of an African nation today, these facts will stare you in the face, as they did Ruto, despite his earlier bravado talk.

China and India did this same thing in the past.

The difference was that because power is centralised in those places, ie China is 1.5 billion strong with just ONE centralised leader, similar to India, while Africa is of a similar population, but with 54 leaders.

So when Africa travels to talk business, it's more 'dramatic' because of the number of leaders going.

But this phase will pass, just like it passed for China and India.

Today, 12 of the 20 fastest growing economies on Earth are BLACK COUNTRIES.

That should tell you that these trips being made are not for nothing. Those African leaders are essentially putting aside their pride (because they know the optics aren't pretty) to go out there and get good things for their countries, by way of investment.

The black world is rising, and rising FAST.
