Jacku: How's the data consumption like I'm afraid I might not be able to answer that as I use an unlimited internet access on mine and so I don't keep track of data usage. If you're thinking of cutting the cord and going the IPTV way, data capped services from MTN, Airtel and co will not give you a pleasurable experience as it'd be an expensive venture. |

ibawon: Unfortunately they won't be everywhere like Starlink. Imagine when you see this but they tell you they are not available in your location. More than 27 ISP's gave me that news last year. FiberOne or other ISP's would work for me but you see that location ehn I agree with you. It can be a pain to be told your area isn't covered. With Starlink, you're well taken care of. |

Phones › Re: Subscriber Options for UNLIMITED Internet - WORTH IT? by CavendishPlex: 9:08am On May 06, 2023 |
It's funny how people who've never used products come out and make very bold statements about such products which are definitely untrue. How can you say that Starlink is the only ISP in Nigeria that offers truly unlimited internet service or that Starlink is capped at 1TB and gets throttled once your data usage hits that figure? Just how? Why don't you try out those products first and see things for yourself first hand instead of relying on "dem say dem say?"
I've used FibreOne since 2016 when I bade farewell to DSTv and never have I had issues with them throttling my internet speed except when there's an occasional general issue just like the one that happened around the last Easter holiday. And then you have guys like Georgee and Dam5reey who use Starlink giving you first hand info about the non-existence of any speed throttle.

And as usual, Nigerians being who we are will make all noise and still open their bank apps to renew their subscriptions when they expire. The usual rinse and repeat noise making every 9 to 12 months. You know you are in an abusive relationship, yet refuse to take your leave as though your destiny is tied to them. Na wa o!
The thought of forking out 21K (soon to be N24,500) for some boring contents on DSTV gives me a headache. With that amount, I have access to a reliable and unlimited internet access, IPTV and other streaming services at dirt cheap rates. Chai, knowledge truly is power. |
Nairaland General › Re: Recommendations For The Best IPTV Provider? by CavendishPlex: 4:17pm On Apr 24, 2023 |
Hi Enforcerlate, when anyone talks about cutting the cord to join the IPTV bandwagon, the first question I usually ask if you have access to a reliable and unlimited internet access (emphasis on the words reliable and unlimited). Without those 2 things in place, the journey into the world IPTV world could result in a nightmare making you question why you left traditional cable TV. Personally, I cut the cord in 2016 and haven't looked back ever since. The IPTV service I use at the moment and I'd gladly recommend has coverage of Live TV channels in English from USA, UK, Canada and a lot more countries in Europe, Asia, Australia and Africa. It also has on-demand contents (movies and TV shows). If you're a guy who's into sports (football & co), you're well taken care of. You can reach me via WhatsApp or call on the phone # on my signature and we'd take it up from there. Cheers enforcerlate: I'm interested in getting an IPTV subscription, but I'm not sure where to start. I've heard there are a lot of providers out there, but I'm not sure which one to choose. I'm hoping some of you might be able to share your experiences and give me some recommendations.
What IPTV provider have you used? Did you have a good experience with them? What channels were available, and were they high-quality streams? Were there any technical issues or downtime? What was the customer support like?
I'm looking for a provider that offers a wide range of channels, including international channels, as well as sports and movie channels. I also want a provider that has a reliable service and good customer support.
I appreciate any advice or recommendations you can give me. Thanks in advance! |

Lol. I'll take you up on the Nkwobi soon. It's always a pleasure to help however I can. With that speed, now you're giving me all the reasons to work harder so I can afford Starlink especially now FiberOne has stepped on the gas pedal by frustrating their customers. georgee: Thanks a lot Cavendish and Seunpayne.. Aim now achieved
CavendishPlex called on phone and we did it together... I owe that guy two bottles of Heineken and Nwkwobi anywhere I jam am

I have achieved exactly what I have been trying to since
Powerful speed down and upstairs.
Before this connection, I was getting 43/45Mbps downstairs, but now it has increased and network is strong as well |
Phones › Re: Starlink Unboxing & Speedtest In Nigeria by CavendishPlex: 10:32am On Apr 18, 2023 |
From my limited knowledge about Starlink (as I haven't acquired one yet), I don't think there's a need for you to bypass the Starlink modem since you still intend having access to it upstairs in and around your bedroom. I'm of the opinion this might be useful for people who use the mesh system with multiple nodes scattered around the house. Meanwhile, if you have to use the Starlink adapter connected to the modem, the connected LAN cable will go into the port marked blue. The other four (4) ports are there for you to make a direct LAN connection between that router and a device e.g. your TV, laptop, etc., thereby bypassing the Wi-Fi connection from that router. georgee: Thanks bro.. Will try it wen I get home tonight.. But u didn't mention 'bypass setting' or using the Starlink Ethernet Adapter.. Are u saying no need for me to go there on my starlink ROUTER or use the adapter?
Then which if this TP-Link port should I plug in cable downstairs? |

toluxa1: No think am oo. A few years ago I downloaded one movie that was still in the cinemas via torrent. A week later I got an email from the ISP that they got a report of illegal download of their movie from me the client (with the exact title of the movie stated) with plenty of threat of fine if it repeats itself. They said they will let it go because it was my first of such but subsequently, they will involve law enforcement bla bla bla. Since then I have been careful with torrents by making sure by VPN is always on. How they even got my email still beats me. How dey link the whole thing to my identity till today still baffles me. It's easy! At the time you register with the ISP for their service, you supply an email address, phone number, physical address and some means of identification. So, reaching you isn't a difficult thing. It's the same way the long arms of the law catches up with those into nefarious activities over the internet. Just use a reliable VPN and have peace of mind. It's Elon Musk's product you're dealing with here. Guy no get joy. |

Stanley08: 1. Starlink router has 'okay' range at best. If you are going to use on more than one floor, you need an extender. If you have money. Get a Triband one like the XE75.
2. Same people that installed my Solar Panels installed my Starlink.
3. Main Deco plugs into the Starlink and becomes a router on it's own. Then you can plug in other decos around as many as you want and they'll all talk to each other and create a WiFi bubble so that you always stay connected all around the house without disconnecting and connecting to another router / extender. Mesh network. It's seamless. Starlink has their own Mesh system. One is $185 but I paid same amount for 3 Deco X55.
4. I think so yes. Just make sure it's for Gen 2 Dishy. They would usually write it in the description or product name.
Alot of Nigerians have been reselling Starlink for 580K. Nonsense. Abusing it already. How will buyers pay for their renewal? Which account did they order it with? If they need to change address, how? Anyways, these 'unnecessary' vendors are the cause of the shortage. People will not find real work or business, they turn everything into business.
Below are... - Main Deco Mesh Node Connected to the Starlink Router via LAN Adapter. - Screenshot from the Deco app Is reselling it an issue here cos I see a lot of adverts on ebay for the same Starlink? There are some folks that even sell for as high as 600K on Jiji. It's a pity there'll be people who'll fall mugu for such. Knowledge is truly power! Unfortunately, those buying them used in Nigeria might have payment issues like you rightly pointed out no thanks to our lical payment systems.

Three (3) slots left.CavendishPlex: I'm looking for four (4) people who might be interested in joining my YouTube Premium Family for just ₦900/month compared to having to make a personal YouTube Premium subscription for ₦1,100 /month.
I'm proposing you make a one-time payment for a full year of ₦10,800 which means you'd be saving ₦2,400 for the year. It might not seem much, but it makes perfect sense especially in this era of cost-cutting wherever and however possible no matter how little.
The benefits of a YouTube Premium subscription include:
> Watch videos completely ad-free, offline (download to play later) and in the background. > Stream all the music you want ad-free on the stand-alone YouTube Music app. > With YouTube Premium, the YouTube Kids app is also ad free so that children can explore and watch videos safely without interruptions.
For this, I'll provide you with a new Gmail account (kind of like a burner account) because if you use your main Gmail account, you can't join another group until after 12 months.
If you're interested, do chat with me via WhatsApp on the phone number on my signature. |

I've been trying to order from the website with my master card but it keeps declining? Pls what can I do If you use a Naira Mastercard, just forget it. It won't work! Your best bet is to get your bank's Dollar card or a virtual Dollar card as you'd be charged in Dollars and not Naira. Expect to pay almost $600 and not that Naira figure they have on their website. |
