Unfortunately, I don't know anyone who uses hoop telecoms. How about giving FOB a call on 01-7001200 as you may not get the feedback you need by sending them a mail?

Besides, if hoops telecoms were quite good, I'm sure you'd have come across one or two persons subscribed to their service. You know such news won't stay hidden.

I feel your pain bro. Forking out 128k just for decent Internet service and not getting value for money can be quite frustrating especially during these trying times.

I went through their website when you quoted it and I must say I wasn't impressed with the whole site. Not detailed at all. Then I saw their address is somewhere on Ijegun Road. Haaaaaaaaaaaa! I knew it was definitely some mushroom outfit doing some small scale radio things.

From what I've been able to gather, if it's not fibre, I won't go near it. My younger brother's experience with Tizeti (wifi.com.ng) is still very fresh. Guy did just one month with them and packed up their setup.

Have you tried reaching out to FibreOne to know if they're in your area?

I can confirm to the house that i wasted money onboarding onto eww networks. The stuff is a piece of junk.. I was onboarded on Saturday and pulling speed 25-30Mpbs (I think my first month, i was placed on about 28K/month which i frowned on and said i will reduce to N18,900 subsequent months..28K too much ooo)

Fast forward to Tuesday, FUP has set in and now pulling about 6Mbps .. i wan cry.. i av told the sales guy/Engineer that i am no more doing after this first month

i paid for equipments 49,999, installation..first month subscription 28k, bought 2 wifi extenders 50k and now i am getting this rubbish speed. These people claimed they are satellite ooooo.. how can FUP come into after like 3-4 days of usage and we still dey go 30days

Which speed will i be getting once i drop down my sub

They placed their router and one WiFi extender inside my room and the other extender in my living room downstairs... Not sure I'm enjoying it cos u av to restart the router wen signal is lost. My phone can connect to WiFi wen am upstairs but not wen am downstairs.. Wen everything is on.. Speed download is massive

Why not call them to rearrange the setup and see if it'd make a difference? I don't understand why your phone wouldn't connect to WiFi when you're downstairs. It's obvious something is fundamentally wrong.

Ehnnn! Ntel ke? Please don't mention that useless network. I wonder why people continue to patronise them and remain in such an abusive relationship all in the name of some faux unlimited data plans.

I saw the light in April 2016 when I hooked up to FOB and it's been bliss ever since. Once you go truly unlimited, you'd hate data caps and FUP.

*Edit* I'm on the 43Mbps plan though since my people at home weren't allowing me enjoy my Live IPTV streaming buffer-free on the FOB base plan.

I was wondering if it's possible to disable the ability to turn off the phone while it's locked. I discovered that after waking mine up (not necessarily getting to the default landing page), I could still turn off the phone. It's a good thing if a thief can't access my control panel, but (s)he can still turn off the phone thereby making it impossible to track.

I don't think this is correct. I use the 5k/40GB and 6k/50GB plans using *121# and once my main and bonus data both expire (main usually expires earlier while the bonus data expires at 23:59 same day), I get a 7-day grace period within which I can renew the subscription and get only the main data rolled over. However, once the bonus data expires (no matter how much is left), it doesn't get rolled over upon a renewal.

Before this new policy, once my main data expires during the day, online use continues to deplete the bonus balance (if there's still some left) until it expires at midnight.

My main and bonus data expire tomorrow which means the remaining 12.8GB bonus data would be lost since it's frozen. They decided to turn up with this backward trend just when I was thinking of doing the 15k/150GB plan.

What i mean is that for instance fiberone broadband, ipnx, ngcom, estreem, fibernet etc dont have their services in agege, egbeda, ogba, iyana ipaja ect because their fiber cable is not been layed in those areas, now, dotmac broadband, wifiber etc have coverage in agege, egbeda, ogba, iyana ipaja etc, why is there not a type of technology that will enable the like of fiberone broadband, ipnx, ngcom, estreem, fibernet etc, have coverage agege, egbeda, ogba, iyana ipaja, without the need of laying their own fiber optic cable, instead they will just connect to the existing fiber network which was layed down by other companies through a kind of unified system, which will just enable the like of fiberone broadband etc to just pay a fee or a type of agreement to the company that lay that fiber and fiberone broadband and the likes will have coverage in those areas that they previously didnt have coverage and also offer their services to these areas without the need of laying cable because a company have done that so instead instead of laying cables you just need to connect to the existing fiber optic cable that have been layed down by other company through some type of agreement or contract that have coverage in that particular area that your company is trying cover.

With this technique or system it will save cost of laying fiber optics cable, a company can just decide to either lay fiber optics cable and let others to partner with the company fiber optics and bring internet services to that paricular area or community, internet will be cheaper, dstv will have low patronage because every one will be streaming either iptv, netflix, irokotv etc, and, there will be a lot of competiton bacause so many companies will join the platform and offer very cheaper internet service plan, fiber reach almost all part of nigeria within ten years

There's actually an ongoing project in Lagos at the moment called the Smart City Initiative whereby there'll be a deployment of a single cable duct for all telecom companies and other utility providers operating in the city.

As you drive around many parts of Lagos, you'd have noticed men digging the ground and laying different coloured pipes across. The aim is to have companies offering fibre optic cable services pass their cables through these pipes as against the worrisome practice of digging up the ground by every company just to lay their cables. In essence, it's a "dig once" policy.

It's just a matter of time before this whole thing comes to fruition. Let's just be hopeful this isn't yet another white elephant project.

I noticed that it was my main MTN data balance that was subject to depletion as against the bonus data as had always been the case despite having 12.8GB as my bonus data. I then got in touch with MTN via Twitter and the feedback below was what I got in response to my query.

"Apologies for the billing from your data bonus account alongside your main data, please. Please be informed that a 50-50 depletion rule was implemented on MTN4Me offers on 30th April 2022.
You will now have 50% of the bonus data bundle depleted first, followed by 50% of the main data. Afterward, the entire bonus would be depleted, and finally the main data bundle.
All inconveniences duly regretted, please.

I only wonder why MTN chose not to make this piece of information public.
