I am an orphan. My parents died poor. Nothing like inherited wealth for me. I lost interest in state universities and state Polytechnics because they are more corrupt than private and federal schools. I suffered for 10 years before I got an opportunity to attend a good university. But during the 10 years, many people around me complained about what they were facing in state schools. Each time I reminded them that they knew the school system before they accepted the school, they claimed I was very privileged. Because of that university, I got my passport and have visited a few African countries. If I had attended those public schools and complained like you people, I would have graduated many years ago. But I doubt if I could have travelled out of Nigeria by now.

Those who came up with the proverb that a patient dog eats the fatest bone are right. I attended a very poor public primary school. I attended a very bad public secondary school, where teachers hardly entered classes. If you check my history on this forum, you may come across a comment where I stated that the three senior classes in the secondary school I attended had only one Maths teacher who entered my class only four times in 3 years. The teacher entered my class twice in my SS1, once in my SS2 and once in my SS3.

The US Congress from time to time, invites top US military personnel to come defend why a certain military hardware is needed or shouldn't be scrapped. I have never seen where they invited a defense contractor to come explain why they are manufacturing F-35 fighter jet, for example, for the military. That may happen if maybe they are carrying out an investigation into a certain program.

Here is my point; The Senate has little or no business with US weapons manufacturers so lobbying them rarely arises.

1. Defense contractor lobbies the US military establishments on the need for the military to own a certain hardware (e.g fight jet, missiles etc)

2. The military goes to Congress to ask for funds for these hardwares, providing evidence of the benefits it provides to the US.

3. Congress gives approval, contract is awarded to the company.
