Honestly i'm not against female being active in politics but from what we've seen so far, they have not been able to prove to us that they would be better than their male counterpart.tell me the ones you know of.
None of the male since 1960 have been able to prove to us that they are right for the job, give the female counterpart a chance to rule and let them prove it right or wrong, let make it 50% / 50% and see if this country wont be a better place.

You guys need to wake up from the past,we are in the 21st century.can you compare queeen IDIAH with the likes of Etteh,Ibru and Arroyo whose presidency in phillipines was not in any way better than her male counterparts ?
and can u compare the male eagles to the female eagles.
can you compare the female finance minister to the male finance minister.
can u compare the percentage
only about 10% of females are corrupt while 90% of male are corrupt
the female have tendency to do good than male in all areas,
Let's give them a chance bluetooth and stop discriminating to the detriment of the country.

bibiking1:
Yeah.,,,,and Ndi Okereke also!
These were such exemplary women, ,,,,we should at this juncture throw in Anti-Naija Dorothy Akunyili into the Mix also.

Why would a woman rule when there still enough tough out men.
The fact that those our leaders are not doing anything to make the country better and we are not challenging them make him a real person of power.
if they possess much authority and dread then how can they quite their office for a woman? Only gay would allow a woman rule over him. Women could help in certain fields not to take over the whole higher positions. Their highest position is still in the kitchen.

cool
And so far which of the men since 1960 has done Nigeria any good, Are u dreaming while typing  grin?
Blazay:
I nominate Ufoma Ejenobor for President of Nigeria.
And who is that ?

coldhearts:
TELL THEM  wink
I'm surprised the women in Nigeria are not extremely upset by this. Every other race tries to make life better for their women but some Nigerian men have gone the extra lenght to make life unbearable for women. We desperately need female leaders, they have held the family up and endured more than their share of misery and most likely knows exactly where to start with the repairs.
ColdHeart, It's high time we men let go off our ego and pride, and let the home makers do what they know how to do best and ill this country, i am giving you all my support ladies

@poster,
i have looked arround but cld not see how our women are different from our criminal minded men.
apart from okonjo iweala, i am yet to remember another woman that can stand the taste of time.
iyabo obasanjo, mrs.etteh and mrs. ibru have proved that what these criminal minded men politicians can do, nigerian women can do and do them even better.
But they have proved to be much more better than the male counterpart in almost all endevour in Nigeria of today, read my post again and u might reason with me,
bk.babe97y:
Yeah, females like I shit4body and that crazy female actress that was caught on camera acting all deranged!
You need to reason straight for once bk.babe97y
mikeansy:
Really don't know what you mean but Mrs Ibru and Onyiuke Okereke are not much of a failure in life as you paint them.

I think women will do good in public office and they are certainly more organised and honest.
Thank you,

Beaf:
The fact that women play little part in Nigerias politics is a measure of our backwardness. The relegation of women to the background is something we learnt from the British and the Arabs. Britain has cleaned up her act since 1918 after the immense sacrifices of the suffragettes, while we and the Arabs have only sunk lower.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/3153388.stm

Ever since we were colonised by foreigners, we have bastardised the high places women previously held. Where are the present day Queen Idia's (Benin) and Queen Amina's (Zauzau)?
Our Western neighbours, Benin Republic were not left out; the Kingom of Dahomey fielded a feared all-female military regiment renowned for its bravery. They were known as Mino or in modern times, Dahomey Amazons. Similar warrior princess armies were known amongst the Ashanti of Ghana.

In the shames that is today, we have primitive religious zealots actually calling on women not to contest political positions in Kwara and some Northern states. We need to change these things, women are as good as men and act as a natural counterbalance to out and out testosteronal leadership.
Good Contribution Beaf, May your days be long, smiley

Eh, how about nobody takes over, instead we select the best people to lead, regardless of gender.

Women have lots of potential for leadership in politics, but they are human beings like any other; let's not put anybody on a pedestal.
Dapobear, i agree with you but i am not gender insensitive, the problem is that the male gender has been ruling this country for over 50years and nothing good came out of it. Our generation is dilapidating cos of this ruling male gender. we can see lately what the female gender have done lately where we fail, why dont we give them a chance if they are the only set of people that can truly move Nigeria forward. i am only canvassing for a better nigeria, Thank u

I have watched closely in recent time and discovered that females/ladies/women in Nigeria are successful in all endevour and excel in almost everything they get themselves into in Nigeria today. They are Successful in Political, Social, Economic, Financial and many other aspect of life in Nigeria. I dont need to mention names as we know them all. Meanwhile as they become successful at a geometrical progression in all aspect of life in Nigeria, the male counterpart are failing us at an astronomical rate in most things. Take Sports as an example they are doing us proud in that area. They just won the AWC, During the commonwealth games they are the only one we can trust, In Finance, they are the best with the likes of Ngozi. Guys, Dont get me wrong, i am a successful nigerian guy in my area. I think it's high time we let them Rule Nigeria for us to develop since all the egocentric male political leaders refused to think beyond their pocket. What do you Think ? Let Female Rule and let us move Nigeria Forward.

omo~fat:
No doubt it is about the message. But the grammar too is important. That's why people go to school to learn things like classical rhetorics, etc.

Anyway, you're right. The message is clear;

Our teachers did not lie to us. They didn't have a clue what they were talking about.

Our father's (IBB/Buhari's) generation failed us. Most of them would pass on in ignominy, unsung and unheralded.

Sadly, we too have failed ourselves by not rising up above their stench. But all is not yet lost.

The important thing now is to figure out how to act so that we also do not fail our children's and yet-to-be-born generations.
May your days be long, May you walk and never stumble, You reason like a man from solomon clan. Really appreciate that contribution. I hope our actions will not be in vein as these people are hell bent on making it worse. sad

Skidoc:
In Twitter style, Gbagaun! grin
You crazy, lol! grin
tpiah:
no, your teachers did not lie because everybody cant fit into the presidential villa. Only a select number of people can.

if however you want to consider the possibility that there are other offices and ways to lead besides the presidency, then you might be on your way to making your teachers' prophecy come true.
i am not saying i want to be the president , do you read for reading sake or you read to understand ?
Dont you think other people especially the youths deserve to rule,
dont be surprise that these people will be ruling at the age of 100 when your grandchildren are supposed to be ruling,
You must be either IBB or Buhari to be in support of rotational leadership,

PoliticsDid Our Teachers Lied? Ibb/Buhari Regime by ceah(op): 10:12am On Oct 15, 2010
In 1984 when Gen Buhari was our head of state, our teachers told us we are the leaders of tommorow, Now in 2010, Gen Buhari is contesting to be the president, is it that our teachers lied to us or what?

In 1988 when IBB was our head of state, our teachers told us never to worry that we are still the leaders of tommorow, Now in 2010, IBB is contesting to be the president again, is it that our teachers are perpetual liers or what?

I am Confused: Did Our Teachers Lied ? Or Could it be that our Leaders are the Liers ?

That is what those who are hell bent on destroying Nigeria want to see-

Revolution - they want to see destruction of lives and properties to make them well.

Ayowumie:
Nigeria never got independence from UK, meaning UK never colonised Nigeria. Nigeria only got independence from Britain. There is clear difference between United Kingdom and Britain. The difference is in geographical demarcation. Check Oxford Dictionary for more details.
@Ayowumie, dont kill me, i am not the one that made the statement, read before you point fingers, it's a excerpt from the British broadcasting cooperation, they are the owners of the land, if they call it uk what's mine to call it british, read next time before you confront and dont behave like a slowpoke.
