Well! Some call them the GARRI CAMPAIGNERs, Some call them the GARRI FREEDOM FIGHTERs, Some call them the Consortium of Garri lover, Some call them the Garri faithfuls, Some call them the fellow Garri Comrades...while others call them The 40 Garrioxide just like The 40 Laptops. Whatever you call them, they have gain popularity on Nairaland. While The 40 Laptops restrict their campaigne to The Politics Section, The 40 Garrioxide have taken their campaigne further by invading every Single thread on The front page with there campaigne slogan of "How does it Affect The Price of Garri". From Obscurity The Leader of The 40 Garrioxide BBPREYE is now one of The Most popular figure on Nairaland. On a recent thread by BBPREYE, The Group accused Seun of Behaving like an autocrat Who goes About his business like Hitler, idi amin or Abacha in a world today where democratic values are gaining grounds. My question is this: Are you in support of The 40 Garrioxide ? Should they be allowed to go on with their campaigne on The Price of Garri ? do You think Seun is wrong by unleashing Ban on Them ? Do you think Seun should leave Them to go Ahead with their campaigne ? Please! Contribute @Seun...I need a poll on this Thread : Either for or against th 40 Garrioxide...A Yes, No or Indifferent option will be good enough. |

Thus Saith the Clueless King - Part IV by Dada Olusegun the continuing expression of the passion of our youth, our future....and funny too.... And it came to pass that in the eighth month of the second year of the jubilee, the clueless king was in high spirits, for his newest domestic acquisition gladdened his heart, for the problems that came his way in seventh month and months before were now a thing of the past. The clueless king had a feast to celebrate Doyind the son of Okupa, his newest 60year old man-servant. Drinks flowed from all ends, women of easy virtue and cassava bread were also in large supply, the palace was lively and the atmosphere was ecstatic. The clueless king was in high spirits, after consuming three full kegs of the royal drink (ogogoro), his eyes were bloodshot and his breath stank to the high heavens. He beckoned to Doyind the son of Okupa asking him to approach the throne and, dutifully, Doyind went on all fours and crawled towards the king shaking his buttocks the way a dog shakes his tail and singing; “O king, thou art great and thy cluelessness endureth forever”. The king was grinning from ear to ear, and as Doyind approached his throne, he rubbed his palms on Doyind’s chubby cheeks and said unto him; “Thou Doyind the son of Okupa art my beloved servant in whom I am well pleased. Thou art delivered me from Nasiru the son of Rufai and the evil Prophet Bakara of the city of Lagoon and all my enemies and haters, all the children of the tribe of the twittarites and those who hate me. Thou art efficient and trustworthy, thou surpasseth Rubenus the son of Abat and all of my man servants and maids. I thank thee my servant, rise into the glory of I your lord” Doyind the son of Okupa then replied saying; ”O benevolent king, thou art seen nothing yet. Thou art my lord and master and I am thy humble and loyal servant. Thou brought me from hunger and pennilessness that stared me in the face, thou brought me back into opulence and wealth, I owe thee my life, your majesty, for if thou hadn’t come to rescue me thy servant, I may have been a broke, hopeless, worthless, penniless and fat-for-nothing-old-man. I owe thee my king, I owe ythee big.” The joy in the heart of the clueless king couldn’t be quantified. He was happy for he knew he made a great decision in bringing in the efficient Doyind into his court to slowly relieve Rubenus the son of Abat of the duties he couldn’t carry out efficiently. As the feast went on, Rubenus the son of Abat came in looking as downcast as ever, the clueless king then decided to show off to Rubenus the qualities that Doyind had which he (Rubenus) didn’t possess, he then stood up from his chair and stripped his robe until he was as naked as the day he was born. After he had done this, he said; “My humble servants Doyind the son of Okupa and Rubenus the son of Abat, pray tell, what are thy thoughts about my new clothes?” Rubenus the son of Abat screamed saying; “O great king thou art naked and thou must cover thy unclothedness for it is wrong for the world to see the unclothedness of the king.” But Doyind replied instinctively saying; “O great king, how greatly thou look in this THY marvelous robe. Thy originality is exclusive and thy style is brilliant. Pay no attention to the voice of detractors that will say thou art naked for thy robe has thirty-six colours, one for each tribe of the kingdom of Naijaria and this beautiful robe of thine can only be seen by only “great men and minds alike”. My king, please thou shalt wear this robe to the nicest of occasions only.” The clueless king was glad, and he said to Rubenus; “Thy counsel is the counsel of Ahitophel and Doyind’s advice is that of Hushai. And like Absalom the son of David, I shall take the advice Doyind over Thine. Go away from my presence thou son of Abat for thy days are numbered!”. And there was rejoicing in the palace for all the slaves, the man-servants, the maids were glad for they all agreed that the king was wise. Follow the writer on twitter @Dolusegun |
