The pups' eyes and ears have fully opened and are functional, they have also started walking about, even climbing out of their box. It's really amazing how they've grown within this short period of time. The brown female which is the smallest of them all is actually the most active, she's my favorite, while her sister is the biggest. The black male with brown markings on his face is the noisiest, he's always screaming or at least growling at something. The second male is the calmest and the silliest of all! He's always looking for what to suck on, anything! I plan letting them have their first shots by next week. They're also available for booking, all save the black and brown male. Pics taken today.

[/b] justwise:@justwise, it's a new bank, Headquarted at Marina, most of the branches are located here in Lagos, I personally visited the Allen Avenue branch. Where other banks are complaining of forex, they're are pretty fast with their operations. For payments through Form A, one just needs to come with the requisite documents, open an acct, fund it and they process it super fast. However, for PTA, one needs to have at least 3mths relationship with them. I suggest those who're experiencing difficulties with their payments and can get to Lagos, should avail themselves this opportunity. |
The pups are about 18days old today, they're taking their first steps, their eyes and ears are open. They are now sucking more than Kenya can produce so I decided to supplement her breastmilk and got a can of SMA Gold, the type a baby takes. I mix it up witj an egg and warm water. Started it yesterday, they seemed to like it so much and sucked it all up.

olamirewaju6190:If that's it, cos I was worried, this is my first time having a female dog. Thanks for your input man. |
It's been a while, we've been tied up taking care of shit you know It's been a roller coaster of emotions. The puppies are 10days today and are doing fine, though they're so needy, they're always whining and looking for breast. Their eyes and ears are yet to open though, but their movements are quite stable now. Kenya's fur are all falling off in clumps, it's getting me worried. I don't know if that's normal for a lactating dog. She's always hungry. She has become more obstinate since having the pups, she does not respond to commands any more, it's annoying. All in all, she has been a good mama.

The pups are 3days old today yet it seems like forever since Kenya littered and by the way, she has been a super mum, cleaning, feeding and generally making sure the pups are all fine. Them pups are just so needy, they're always squirming and crying, all they want to do is suck suck suck! She's always with them, doesn't spend even 10mins away from them. Below are their pictures, the first is the females, then the males: the black male is already paid for.

amizzy48:I'm at Agbara Ogun State; 07066239687. What price is a fair price ; ![]() |
olamirewaju6190:Thanks bro, the experience was a nice one. |
Cema07:Yeah, thanks man |
You're earning 100k monthly and still mulling the thought of leaving or remaining, bro I earn 150k monthly and I'm not proud to discuss it with my guys! By Student Visa or Chariot of fire, I must not spend the next Christmas in this country. |
They're all black and dark tan, took after their parents. I love the colours! That's what I intended.

Great news guys, the pups are finally here! Just came back from work and Kenya had already delivered 4pups, all by herself! Nobody was at home with her! I'm soooo damn happy here, can't believe it! She had them right there inside the whelping box and cleaned up everything. She's a stellar mama! I was afraid she might have them on the floor if no one was around. With what happened in the morning, I was pretty sure it's going to be today. Left home around 7am but couldn't hold it, so I rushed back home around 9am. She had already pooped and vomited some greenish looking goo, she looked quite weak and tired. I cleaned up and left again, only to come back and meet her with the pups: 2 males and 2 females. One is just so huge! ![]()

It's happening guys, Kenya woke me up with her noise around 3AM this morning and has been quite restless since then. I took her temperature at three different times and they read 37.1, 37.0 and 36.9 respectively, still I don't expect her going into actual labour till this evening perhaps. She's not eating her food, even with the chicken in it! Maybe I should skip work today?

Today's the 61st day, everything now is fluctuating: her appetite, energy, vulva, even belly size gets rounder one minute and gets oval the next, only her teats have continued getting larger. She was really interested in her box this evening and did some serious digging in it. Her temperature this morning was 37.7 and 37.5 this evening. I'm hoping to see a drop by tomorrow. Still have 2days to go. Let's see how it goes.

Cema07:Nobody at all, that's why I'm afraid and got the thermometer to try and pinpoint the exact time she has a drop in temperature so I'd be around. Last night was 38.0 and this morning was 37.9'C. Today's day 60. |
Has anyone used Access Bank Form A to pay tuition deposit here? If yes, are they fast with their service? |
Cema07:I'm thinking 4 or 5, most probably 5. ![]() |
Wednesday July 7, 2021 is the 59th day, her temperature was rising up instead of going down. Yesterday morning was 37.9 and last night was 38.1, then this morning, it went back to 37.4. She only ate the chicken and a little quarter of her food yesterday, leaving the entire food till now untouched. I tried giving her bread this morning which she reluctantly ate a little then stopped. She's also weak, can't stand or walk for more than 10secs without flopping to the ground. I'm anxious, it's like it's going to happen soon, but my fear is she having the pups while I'm at work, I'd prefer she does that over the weekend, especially as her EDD is on Sunday. Her teats have almost tripled in size and are even leaking milk on their own! The pups must have changed their position cos her belly became rounder and tighter. I noticed something like a crust on the tip of her ear last night and this morning, I applied undiluted Amitrax to it which made her super uncomfortable, but it's for her own good. Let's see how it goes.

Temperature check
|
Yesterday Sunday July 5 was exactly 8wks after Kenya was bred. This is now the 9th week, we're finally getting to the end of this journey. It still feels like yesterday when she came on heat! Everything remains the same, except for her bulging belly and teats, it's like she's going to burst open. Sometimes I pity her, yet she wants to jump all over the place, though she flops to the floor immediately after. Her breathing is fast, like she can't get enough air. Her appetite is optimal and her last temperature check is still 37.4'C which has been her average ever since. Everything is set for whelping, the count down is on! Pictures taken early this morning, Monday July 5, 2021.

So today's the 55th day, everything's speeding up real fast, it seems she's getting enlarged on the hour: her belly, vulva and teats are getting bigger and heavier, in fact I saw some bit of colostrum when I massaged her teats this evening. The pups are kicking as though they're fighting in there. The discharge is still there, though not much. Despite looking heavy, she stills jumps around as normal, though I try to let her rest. Diet and appetite are as usual: Royal Canine Puppy kibbles, noodles, rice and chicken with Multivitamin tabs twice daily. I was able to get a thermometer today and would commence taking her rectal temperature twice daily as from today. Read that normal ranges from 37.5-38.5'C and that there's a 1'C drop within 24hrs prior to whelping. I took the first reading tonight and it showed 37.4'C. She usually exhibits signs of nestling whenever I bring her to the whelping box and I plan doing that every evening till she whelps. EDD: Sunday 11 July, 2021. Pictures taken this evening, Saturday 3rd of July, 2021.

Cema07: Relax, will do that on Sunday when I'm chanced to. |
Today is day 53, the whelping box is ready. I arranged some old papers in it and introduced Kenya to it, she instantly got to work shredding them, making this circular turns inside and trying to build a nest, though she didn't last on the job. She always makes a beeline to my bed and does the same thing as she did in the box, I hope she doesn't whelp on my bed though. She seems restless and full of energy, this evening she kept on giving this sharp sudden barks at imaginary things and she was breathing hard. I clipped her claws and trimmed her vulva area. Her appetite keeps fluctuating. Her belly this evening looked as though it reduced in size, it wasn't as big as usual, though the pups are still kicking as normal. All things being equal, we have about 10 more days to go before the D day. |
Preparation is underway for Kenya's delivery, have gathered a few essentials: disposable gloves, old papers and clothes, and I'm thinking of making a whelping box too! Will have her claws clipped today or tomorrow. I'm also thinking of deworming her again but afraid of the effect on the pups, what do y'all think, should I go ahead, is it safe? I might also begin taking her on short walks in the evenings, as she's becoming more sedentary. Some people adviced against giving her meat, even cutting down her food, so as to not make the pups too big during delivery while others have opposing views, what do y'all think? |
feyijo:Details pls |
So sorry diary for the hiatus, I had some emergency that got me tied up. Last week Sunday marked the end of the 7th week and today, Tuesday 29th June 2021 is the 51st day post breeding and the 8th week. Kenya is just getting larger abdominally, though not so large, same as her teats. Her vulva began swelling again around late last week and the slimy clear discharge has returned. Her appetite is fluctuating, with too much energy and jumping around, and she keeps yawning all the time. The pups have started kicking and moving around in earnest, I can make out their shapes and movement when she's lying on her side. I'm seriously thinking she'll have 4 pups, what do you think. Pictures taken yesterday.
