oboy, how far you don go for the solving and learning? |

you just spoke my mind bro. |

i recently discovered that my problem solving skills is limited due to my poor discrete mathematics background and i intend to correct that. My major obstacle now is how to go about studying it in a way that is effective and efficient. please i need a self-study guide from those of you who studied programming outside the four-walls of school. |

so far the only thing you have done is avoid explaining away your plot holes. you and I know that if you make absolute statements, you would have to prove that it is absolute to others. |

you are not sure my friend. if you calculation is really as logical and accurate as you make it seem, you can present a concise form of the major points to me. I am a rational being. |

there was no where in the bible where it was mentioned that grace period was 13 years. the bible mentioned specifically that the devil was the prince of this world right from the fall of man which is true looking at how the world system operates. it is one thing for atheists on Nairaland to come and make statement about Christianity and the bible, at least they have read the bible. it is another thing for an individual to come and start making false statements about a book he obviously has not read |

dayodare49o:hahahahahaha..... typical Nigerian. that is the first of many and also if you have one wrong point in the midst of many don't you think it is natural for you to address it? |

dayodare49o:where in the bible was it mentioned that all the biblical prophesies would come to pass before the year 2000? |

with all due respect to the OP and without any form of antagonism against him I make this statement. This post is disjointed and devoid of rational coherence |

@Austinoski from your recent posts on this section, you are looking for ways to improve on your programming skills. I suggest that you check out the following sites projecteuler.net topcoder.com and this http://www.ntnu.edu.tw/acm/ the all contain problems that would develop your skills. |

A stack is a data structure - a means of arranging data for easy manipulation - that enables you to arrange data in form of a stack I.e placing data one on top the other like a pile of cards. it follows a last-in-first-out format meaning that the topmost data is the first to be removed from the structure. Even though I have already seen the pseudo code for it, implementing it exactly was not possible because of my still limited programming knowledge. so I decided to use what I know to implement what I want and I ended up with the following code - in C language. |

I tried implementing a STACK data structure recently as a novice of course. it turned out to be quite educative. |

funny. maybe he acquired 10 years worth of experience within that 1 year. |

you have to understand that programming is a skill that takes years to develop. you have to handle the fact that it is not going to be a rosy ride on your way to learning C++. also learning that particular language is the least of your problem. if you want to be a great programmer proficient in C++, you must learn how to logically deduce the steps needed to solve any problem presented to you, knowing which data structure is best suited for the problem, how the running time of your solution increases with increase in input etc. So my contribution is this, get a good algorithm text along side all the C++ materials that has been suggested to you. Make sure you use it along side your C++ materials. it may be hard at first, I know that first hand, but it would be worth it at the end. lastly you can register in any of this sites for programming challenges that would help you strengthen what you have learned www.projecteuler.net www.codeforces.com www.topcoder.com www.codechef.com 3 Likes |

This is a brilliant and innovative idea that I would like to be a part of. Now lordzouga this is my own contribution to it. What if the app, instead of giving out people's address, shows the user which part of the power grid is having power based on user generated data. In other words, the map to be utilized by the app should be based on the map of the power grid and at a certain point in time, tell us which part of the distribution power grid is having electricity. This way the app 1. Keeps the address of the other users safe and 2. With the appropriate algorithm and good knowledge of how the power grid works, filter out those who are using generators from those using power from the power grid. |

Get a book on algorithm design and data structures...... Trust me u will need knowledge of those two topics in other to be a good programmer 1 Like |
