Aside from marriages, lovers are fond of not letting their partners know the passwords to their mobile phones. Not just that, they also do not exchange credit card pins. A Nigerian man identified as Sola Adio (#AskUncleSola) on Twitter, has called out couples who are fond of locking their mobile phones every night before going to bed. He added that, some will go as far as placing the phone under their pillows. Adio disclosed that, it is a bad idea if your family members do not have access to any of your gadgets. Croatia striker, Mario Mandzukic, has admitted that he was shocked that a penalty was awarded against Nigeria, in their 2-0 win last Saturday.  Super Eagles’ defender, William Troost-Ekong, was adjuged to have fouled Manzukic inside the box. Luka Modric stepped up and sent Francis Uzoho the wrong way to make it 2-0, after Oghenekaro Etebo’s own goal had given them a first half lead. At least 19 members of the Joint Health Sector Union (JOHESU) sustained injuries in an accident along the Benin-Auchi Road on Saturday. The workers are said to be staff of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) chapter of the union. According to Channels, 40 of the health workers were on their way to a function in Auchi when the accident occurred. The injured victims were subsequently rushed to the Otibho Okhai Hospital in Irrua, Edo state, where they were being treated by doctors and consultants on duty. Esteem Tagar, president of the association of resident doctors at Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital, who confirmed the incident, said no life was lost in the accident. The union has been on strike since April 17. Part of the health workers’ demands include upward review of their salaries to be at same level with the doctors, a request both the federal government and the doctors kicked against. Others are improved facilities, employment of additional health professionals, implementation of court judgments, upward review of retirement age from 60 to 65 years, and harmonisation of salaries of all healthcare workers in the country. The National Industrial Court in Abuja, on Thursday, ordered the health workers to resume work within 24 hours but JOHESU asked its members to continue with the strike. Super Eagles star Alex Iwobi has said it has not been easy to leave England, his place of birth, to play for Nigeria.  However, he appreciated Nigeria for encouraging him and not making him regret the decision. The 22-year-old featured for England’s U16, U17 and U18 sides before switching allegiance to Nigeria in 2015. Iwobi, a nephew of Super Eagles legend Austin ‘Jay-Jay’ Okocha, said, “It wasn’t easy for me picking Nigeria over England given the fact that I was born and brought up in England given the good care and treatment I got. However, Nigeria gave me good reason to stay on when I made my first call up at the U23. I was made to feel at home and wanted. My family is from here and I had no reason not to take up the offer.” Recall that Iwobi was named among the regulars in Coach Gernot Rohr’s provisional 30-man squad for the tournament released some days back. However, the Arsenal star however said that he has not set any personal targets ahead of the Russia 2018 World Cup. There are two groups of people in the world; the ones who give up on life and eventually secede while the other type are those that continue to fight despite the curve balls thrown at them.  Identified by her Instagram username, Rider Mum, she has proven herself to belong to the categories of fighter. She was involved in a car accident that made her loose total control of her legs, thus putting her in a wheelchair. However, despite her current situation, she has risen above the whole situation, accepting and loving herself the way she is. A proud mother of 3 adorable children, she continues to speak out on her situation and the progress made so far. A fake police officer, Gregory Anyasodo, has been arrested by the Lagos Police command. Anyasodo, 47, was arrested on Thursday, May 17, by operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) at Oshodi area of Lagos state.  His arrest followed a report by one of his victims, Emmanuella Joseph to the Lagos police command. Joseph alleged that Anyasodo had confiscated her bag which contained N125, 000 and threatened to arrest her. A search warrant around the area the incident occurred led to the arrest of the fake officer while a Anyasodo was arrested on Thursday by operatives of the RRS at Oshodi after one of his victims, Mrs Emmanuella Joseph, reported that he had confiscated her bag which contained N125,000 was recovered from him. Anyasodo while confessing to seizing a bag from Joseph said he came to Lagos in 2016 but started impersonating the police after he could not get a job. “I have been arrested six times in Owerri for impersonation. I have impersonated WAEC and JAMB officials. I have been arrested thrice by Shell Camp police, Owerri for impersonation," Anyasodo said. An aged man has been rescued by a brave soldier during a gunfight between troops of Nigerian Army and Boko Haram. Enugu State Police Command has commenced investigation into the alleged killing of a father by his son at Ojinato, a community in the state. The Command’s spokesman, SP Ebere Amaraizu, said in a statement in Enugu on Tuesday that the incident happened on May 4. According to the statement, the suspect’s real name has not been established but investigation is continuing. It said that the deceased, Pa Nathaniel Chukwuemerie, 83, who hailed from Ogidi in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra, was killed by his son simply known as `The Boy’. The statement explained that Chukwuemerie, who resides at Ojinato community in the state “met his death when his son identified as a.k.a. `The Boy’ smashed his father’s head with pestle over a yet to be established issue.’’ It noted that following the development, the victim was rushed by sympathizers to a nearby hospital where he was confirmed dead by a doctor. The statement was signed by Brigadier General Texas Chukwu, the Director Army Public Relations. “The operation which was conducted in conjunction with allies of Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), rescued the hostages from Malamkari, Amchaka, Walasa and Gora villages of Bama local government area of Borno state. “The hostages consisted mainly of women, children as well as some young men who were forced to become Boko Haram fighters,” the statement said. The statement added that one of the rescued victims, Alhaji Gambo Gulumba, from Amchaka village, thanked the Nigerian military for showing them love and care. The Nigerian Army urged Nigerians to be reminded of its resolve to rout out Boko Haram and rescue all hostages. It also urged citizens to report any suspicious character to the appropriate authority for prompt action.
